Outer Space

In the 1970s, the Masrian government initiated project "Nut's Corset", which deployed thousands of satellites into outer space. These were no ordinary satellites, each was similar to the Brilliant Pebbles system though simpler in construction, and instead of missile interception they were used for a much less sophisticated purpose. Each piece of fabric on Nut's Corset was packed with a 420 kiloton thermonuclear warhead, and had simple jets to propel it back in earth's direction to easily de-orbit, controlled by a simple computer listening for a very specific signal.

Decades later, the simple yet reliable design and build of these dormant angels of death served well in their purpose, but still mistakes were made in their development and rumours had it that decommissioning was coming soon, but no word was formally uttered on the matter.

For now these satellites continued to drift about their orbital paths, sleeping, yet awaiting their awakening, for that would be a day of devastation for all unlucky enough to be subject of its wrath.
