A flotilla of cruisers and destroyers slowly moved towards 100 miles from the Azadistani coast. "Tomahawk missile ready to fire. Safety check cleared. Missile fired in 3...2...1." The tomahawk missile flew from it's silo and flew towards a Azadistani military dock near the coast. Shortly after all 5 missiles were fired the flotilla began departing hoping that the Azadistani navy would be too confused to even try and find them.

The government of Akara and of His Royal Majesty the King expresses extreme disappointment by Azadistan's refusal to cooperate with the international community in order to combat terrorism originating within its own borders. This is at least the second time that this terrorist group, the Azadistan Mafia, has made agressions towards a sovereign nation. This is also at least the second time that the government of Azadistan has failed in ending, or at the very least restricting, the activity of these terrorists.

The government of Azadistan has stressed that to remove the leadership and dismantle these terrorist groups would lead to the rise of even less preferable members in the country's criminal community. However, when confronted by the international community on concerns over the size of criminal influence over the country, the Azadistani government stated that "crime rates are actually very low", implying that upsetting the structure of Azadistan's criminal underworld should not have too drastic of an affect on the overall populace. The government of Akara and of His Royal Majesty the King has reasoned that this means either the government of Azadistan is lying to the international community over their crime statistics, or is unwilling to combat terrorism within its own borders.

More disturbing is the Azadistani Sultan's unmasked defence of these Islamic terrorists, which extends beyond unwillingness to establish control within their own borders. Although the Azadistani government refuses to stand up to internal terrorist groups, it has mustered enough courage to stand up to the Kingdom of Kyneland, a legitimate government, and has issued statements standing against Kyneland's rightful prosecution of Islamic terrorists seeking to undermine Kyneland and other countries. It has become clear that Azadistan stands against states that wish to keep their citizens safe, and will side with Islamic terrorists over secular governments.

Due to Azadistan's unwillingness to combat Islamic terrorism, and their implied threats against nations that are willing, the government of Akara and of His Royal Majesty the King have concluded that Azadistan is a terrorist state. The Azadistan government has demonstrated such a synthesis with the Azadistani Mafia that they must either be in collusion, controlled by, or controlling said terrorists. As a result, the Kingdom of Akara no longer recognizes the government of Azadistan, and condemns it and its leaders as at the very minimum, conspirators to terrorism, and likely even terrorists themselves. It has become quite clear the "Azadistan Land of the Free" means as much as "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea". Nations of the world,

The Theocratic Fascist Empire of Old Beringia has closely observed the actions of the Sultan and the government of Azadiastan over the past few days. In light of the recent actions of the governing body of Azadiastan and the reaction they have prompted from other nations the Department of the Reigning Monarch under Princess Renata DeRoche-Wright, the Department of War, and the Department of Intelligence, Investigation and Insulation has seen fit to declare Azadiastan a terrorist sanctum as per the Declaration of Intent Regarding Terrorism signed into law by God-Empress Alicia Esmeraude Dux Ducis II.

As such Azadiastan, a declared terrorist sanctum, will be subject to these provisions under Old Beringian law:

Azadiastan will be effectively surrendering their sovereignty and giving The Majestic Fascist Empire of Old Beringia permission to enter said nation without consent of the national, provincial, or municipal government with intent of military action. Giving Beringia permission to exercise both open and covert military action within Azadiastani borders and or maritime exclusion zones. By extension dependencies, colonies, and otherwise nations closely affiliated with Azadiastan are subject to this same clause.

Travel to and from Azadiastan will be restricted and any Beringian subjects within the borders of Azadiastan are recalled to the homeland as of the twenty-seventh day of May in the year of our God-Empress two-thousand-and-eighteen. Given that Beringian subjects may have taken up permanent residence within Azadiastan prior to this declaration a one (1) month grace period will be imposed in order to facilitate a quick and efficient relocation of Beringian subjects back to the homeland. If housing cannot be procured by Beringians returning from permanent residence within terrorist sanctums temporary housing will be provided in the following cities: PARADISE HEIGHTS, EMERALD CITY, REVOLO CITY, LONDON HEIGHTS, DIVUM CITY, BERING CITY and RHODES. To be eligible for temporary housing, returning Beringian subjects must provide proof of residence for at least two (2) years in Azadiastan.

The Imperial Government will exercise the right to board and search suspected terrorist vessels in international waters and watercraft bearing the markings of Azadiastan or Azadiastani organizations regardless of flags flown or state of origin. The Imperial Beringian Government may also sink suspected Azadiastani vessels without warning or conviction, if a boarding operation would be ill advised. Individuals aboard Azadiastani vessels may be forcefully detained if not forced to perish by use of deadly force. The aforementioned search rights are extended to any elevated subject of the Imperial Government, which shall include but not be limited to the Imperial Beringian Army, Imperial Beringian Navy, Imperial Air Service, the Imperial Guardian Corps, SADM, and DI3 employees.

The Imperial Government will exercise the right to use unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) or drones and autonomous surface vehicles (ASV) within Azadiastani airspace and maritime zones respectively. Drone strikes may be executed with extreme discrimination and without the consent or notification of Azadiastan. Such strikes will only be carried out to force large concentrations of individuals to perish. It is to the best of SADM's ability that drone strikes carried out within the borders of Azadiastan will yield limited collateral damage. Funds have been appropriated to cover damages to surrounding public infrastructure in the event a drone strike yields an inappropriate level of collateral damage.

The Imperial Government will exercise the right to operate within the borders of Azadiastan without hindrance by local, provincial, or state officials and law enforcement. The God-Empress encourages actively assisting members of the Imperial Government in whatever task we have been assigned although such assistance is not expected. Any personnel of the Azadiastani government and or law enforcement organizations that attempt to hinder elevated subjects of the Imperial Government may be forcefully detained if not forced to perish by use of deadly force.

Finally, this policy will not be implemented to attack Azadiastan or its government directly but remove the threat of the individual. Actions undertaken under this policy to ensure the security and safety of the Beringian people shall not be regarded as acts of war upon Azadiastan unless a proper declaration of war is issued by the Imperial Government and authorized by the God-Empress. The God-Empress understands that it is the nature of the savage to resort to dishonorable, devilish and otherwise animalistic means to express a point or view and terrorism cannot be completely eradicated. Beringian servicemen may die in an effort to secure peace and safety for their fellow subject but it is at the God Empress' behest that in death these men become deities and hero-gods.

In addition the following sanctions package will be implemented and the Imperial Government demands that Azadiastan take the appropriate action in eradicating the terrorist elements within its borders. If the Azadiastani government does not comply in a reasonable amount of time the Imperial Government will no longer recognize the Azadiastani government as a legitimate body and harsher sanctions will be considered.

• Any and all trade with Azadiastan will cease immediately.
• Azadiastani government assets and investments located in Beringian banks will be frozen indefinitely.
• Azadiastani flagged shipping and travel will be barred from entering waters, airspace, or territory belonging to the Empire of Old Beringia, or her tributary states, colonies, and possessions.
• Azadiastani ships and aircraft will be denied bunkering services or access to critical support services (e.g. fuel, water, safe harbor for repairs, access to airstrips in emergencies) to ships and aircraft of Azadiastani origin.
• Azadiastani government personnel that enter or are in the Empire of Old Beringia, or her tributary states, colonies, and possessions, will be detained indefinitely.
• Beringian authorities will move to prevent any financial service, including insurance or reinsurance, and freeze any assets of businesses or persons that continue business with the Azadiastani government.
• Beringian authorities will actively prevent new banking relationships with Azadiastan, including opening of any new branches of Azadiastani banks, joint ventures, and correspondent banking relationships.
• Privateers under the employ of the Imperial Beringian Government shall be granted permission by the Beringian government to board Azadiastani merchant and civilian shipping, impress crew and or passengers into service, commandeer ships, and seize cargo at their discretion.
• Beringian authorities will begin the withdrawal of all Beringian capital and businesses operating in Azadiastan.
• Beringian authorities will prevent its nationals from conducting business with Azadiastani companies and companies that continue to do business with Azadiastani companies.
• Azadiastani companies with funds or investments within Beringian financial institutions will have their assets frozen and or seized.
• Azadiastani websites, or websites operated by Azadiastanis, will be blocked by Beringian authorities. Data on Beringian web servers owned by Azadiastanis will be seized by Beringian authorities.
• Azadiastani citizens in the Empire of Old Beringia, or her tributary states, colonies, and possessions are subject to indefinite detainment unless they renounce their citizenship and swear fealty to the God-Empress.
• Azadiastani citizens, former citizens, or those seeking citizenship in Azadiastan are subject to having their assets in Beringian financial institutions frozen, if not seized, and property impounded.
• Azadiastani citizens, former citizens, or those seeking citizenship in Azadiastan will be denied access to medical care while in the Empire of Old Beringia, or her tributary states, colonies, and possessions.

The above provisions will be implemented and will take effect immediately as of the twenty-seventh day of May in the year of our God-Empress two-thousand-and-eighteen and will not be reconsidered as requested by the government of Azadiastan. Aozora couldn't help but place her face on the desk when she heard the news. There she was, struggling with her own national issues, when she'd learnt some idiots were fighting against Atkemri. Normally, she wouldn't care. Indeed, although she despised chaos, attacks against nations which were rather aligned against her were of little concern. But from what she'd heard, the belligerent was a rather antagonistic nation. A highly religious one, too, which didn't bolster her spirits any.

She hadn't called any of the Densetsu in. This was supposed to be time for recreation. For relaxing. But the world continued to turn. How long had it been since she'd dealt with problems like this? A long time. Was there any legitimacy to the claims of this... Azadistan? Doubtful. It was far more likely they sought pretence for conflict. They wanted war. And so, they'd have it. Either that, or terrorists had fooled them, or Atkemri really had been aggressive enough to get involved. Even a democracy couldn't be that needlessly warlike. They were idiots, but surely they had brains at very least.

I shouldn't even get involved. It's a waste of resources. A waste of time. But if it starts to affect me, then it'll be an annoyance. I'm already dealing with unrest in Yasei District, can't afford any more destabilisation. No, that was wrong. The chances were low it'd matter at all. Nobody would support Atkemri, not even criminals. And there was even less chance of anyone supporting the ideals of Azadistan. Islam, like most other religions, had barely any impact on Kyoki Chudoku. The nation was secure from terrorists, for the most part. There was no reason to get involved, not directly. But observing the situation could lead to getting a better idea of what Atkemri would do in a wartime situation, and what lengths they would go to.

She resolved simply to keep an eye on matters, and focus her main efforts elsewhere. As long as the conflict didn't affect her, she didn't need to affect it, just watch on. Was it wrong to allow chaos like this to prevail? Perhaps. But she wasn't ready for an outright invasion, condemnations and sanctions would make no difference, and her opinion on Atkemri had already been made clear. She just wondered why people would go to such effort to attack them, when it was likely the Atkemrians would be victorious regardless.

I guess I'll find out, one way or another. In the meantime, I've got other things to focus on...
