Coalition Proposal for the County of Italica
The XXVth of August, Anno Domini MMXVIII - the XXIst of Paramat, Anno MDCCCXXXIX
The Trans-Barrier Coalition, consisting of eleven nations united in outrage over the dastardly assault on the City of Berlin on the 9th of May, 2018 (24th of Hadur, 1839), wishes to inform the County of Italica and her honourable representatives that our terms for an official cease fire and eventual peace are as following:
- The immediate and total abolition and outlawing of slavery and involuntary servitude in all its forms shall take place at once in the County of Italica. The Coalition is willing to discuss a time frame in which this abolition is implemented but for our forces to not sack this city and level this beautiful castle to its foundations slavery in all its forms needs to be declared illegal by sunset today.
- The County of Italica shall grant trade rights for the following nations: Holy Romangnan Empire of Karlsland and Ostmark; Empire of Wolfenium; Empire of Fusō; Free Lands of the Selkie; Commonwealth of Britannia; Empire of Great Qing; Empire of Japan and the Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere; Republic of Hiluxia; and Free Kingdom of Allanea.
- Information regarding our citizens illegally seized from us during the Battle of Berlin on the 9th of May, 2018 (24th of Hadur, 1839) is to be provided to the Coalition post-haste, and Italican authorities shall provide all possible assistance in repatriating them.
- The Government of Sadera, whichever one it may be will in the future be liable to an indemnity of yet to be determined size for the barbarous outrage in Berlin.
- It is clear to the Coalition that the Italican region is facing a humanitarian catastrophe of terrible proportions after the battles on Alnus and outside its walls. Therefore the Coalition is willing to lend all medical assistance as required until the region is satisfactorily stabilised. Italican medical facilities should endeavour to assist the Coalition in this effort with regional medical statistics and other pertinent information in return.
- The County of Italica shall grant right of transit to Coalition forces until otherwise determined.
- The County of Italica shall allow the Empire of Wolfenium to represent the Coalition's interests in her domain, and to permit the Empire of Wolfenium to appoint an Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to the County.
- Former slave-holders in the County of Italica will be granted a general amnesty for the crime of holding slaves, as long as they surrender the slaves voluntarily.
- All Italican prisoners of war and denizens will be accorded all rights and protections as defined by all relevant conventions and customary regulations of war. All Italican officers and units may keep their sidearms, colours and standards.
- If the Coalition's demands are not met in four hours time period the Coalition will begin bombarding the city with our artillery and then proceed to fully occupy and sack it.

Model and the Princess served as the entirety of the Karlslandic delegation present at the table for negotiations. Others would come, but not until later. There was a celebration of sorts scheduled for that evening - food, drink, fireworks, and the next day a little parade just to show off what the temporary new rulers of Italica were capable of.
Model had drafted the terms herself, and took more than a little sadistic joy at watching the gears in Longina's mind work through the list. From Longina's perspective, the terms of the proposal were fair, even beneficial, barring the banning of slavery. Italica didn't have a large number of slaves for a territory of its size, but it had enough that freeing them all at once or even in a short period of time would not be good for its economy, which was her main concern with most of it.
And then she got to the last term, and her gears stopped cold, the crinkle of the paper the only indication she was still conscious at all. A malevolent grin spread across Model's face which quickly vanished as Longina looked up.
Kind of putting the pressure on them, aren't we? asked Hanna telepathically to the field marshal.
I've dealt with village leaders in Afghakistan by demanding of them only one. As long as their radios work, they'll be fine, she responded non-telepathically. Not being a telepath, communication took some getting used to, but as a field marshal Model had mastered it, as was expected of her.
On one hand, Italica's radio network had indeed taken a beating, more due to the raiders than the Coalition, which had largely ignored it on Karlsland's orders - clearly part of their plan to seize control intact, and in part also to ease along the spread of pro-Coalition propaganda. It was a hell of a lot easier than airdropping pamphlets.
On the other hand, they were outnumbered, low on supplies, and clearly outgunned. If the Coalition wanted to, they could easily take Italica and march as far as the Tiber Line with little trouble, and there wasn't a damn thing Longina could do about it.
Reluctantly, she drew a gold and ebony fountain pen from her pocket and signed the proposal. She buried her face in her hands as she handed it to the Countess, saying nothing.

The line.
As the Karslander witches flew over head, the Lieutenant in charge of the Convoy was given the go ahead. There was, currently, 6 SU-17 Fitter-Ks In theater and the birds were due to be reinforced. The Flat bed trucks hadn't been lined up with the rest of the long line of vics, mostly because of their cargo: 18 SU-17 Fitter-Ks, and 8 Parcian Naval aviation F-14E Tomcats.
They (all being variable sweep wing craft) were neatly tucked away with their wings held close, covered in tarps and guarded by Army Security Officers. They already had to keep the press away from the fighters, on top of a person of suspicious origin who thus far had been reluctant to talk.
None the less, the order was given and the convoy was given clearance, and the trucks lurched forward as they began to pass through the gate one by one.
Alnus Hill FOB
Once they made it through, they were directed by a PRAF ground Crew officers through the FOB and on to the airfield it self. The Sappers had taken time to reinforce the Road leading form the FOB to the airfield, as well as to set about the long process of laying the concrete the base would be built on. Starting at the outer sections, as to keep the runway free and clear for operation, using backed concrete mix as well as a pair of Heavy mixers mounted on a pair of M55 hulls.
As the planes arrived one by one, they were carefully pulled off the flat beds and pulled underneath the temporary service tents. While normally multiple days would be needed to get a squadron of nearly 30 aircraft up and running, all the birds on hand were needed for a upcoming mission that had been passed down through command, one that would take place in as little as 5 days. So, 12 man crews were split off for each plane as they came in and the process for preparing them all for immediate combat operations was started.
Once the flat beds had unloaded their cargo, a second line of DT-30 Vityaz tracked cargo haulers came through, hauling the main ground/aircrews for the birds, their munitions and spare parts, as well as 4 specifically designed to haul fuel. The Fuel and weapons were stored at a pair of field built reinforced depots (the only semi-hardened structures the Sappers had built) while the rest were offloaded as needed.
Lastly, and more covertly, a pair of BTR-90s rolled through. One would notices that unlike the rest of the armored vehicles that had come through, they would bear the simple Red Star of the Regular Army, rather they had a different emblem...(Image)
POW Problem.
With the routing of the Bandits around Italica, and the scattering of their forces, the forces on hand managed to secure a few hundred POWs (close to 200). Shooting to build the Camp on the far side of the FOB, far away from the airfields and close enough for the forces in said FOB to respond if needed, the Sappers went about setting the basic elements for a basic POW camp. With the Construction being handled by the Parcian Sappers, a call went out to allied nations for the actual care and administration of the POWs, since Parcia was not known for its fair treatment of POWs.

Wolfen Delegation
25th August
Staring down at the princess' as she pored over the details of the terms, Eva kept up her neutral facade as she observed the other candidates around her. On the face of it, the terms were largely what she had sought in any case. Economic privileges, release of Wolfen citizens held captive by the Saderans. Emancipation of the slaves was not exactly a priority, due to the potential strain it could bring to their logistics. However, a bit of humanitarianism would not hurt, as long as they were not happily sacking their way through the country.
But then came Model's malicious smile.
The look on Longina's face as she penned down her signature on the surrender said it all. That last term was an unnecessary ultimatum, a mocking tribute to the sham alliance of angered alien invaders who all had a vested interest in tearing down the upstart who bit them. For once, a wide frown briefly flashed on Eva's face as she glared at Karlslanders' gleeful trolling, but it was not pitying for the Saderans she was feeling. It was disgust for her allies' vindictiveness.
With the proceedings over, the women took their leave in haste, a passing glance at the Japanese' masked pilot as they were finally free to speak among themselves.
"'Bombard the city'," questioned Eva in disgust, as Violett followed behind, "are they insane? You might as well ask me to send my three reapers to level the place."
"If I may, Your Highness, you have to understand. It's their princess that had been kidnapped, not ours," Reynolds explained, "partaking in acts of vengeance is natural for anyone. All that being said, Your Highness, it sets a bad example."
"You were at the surrender proceedings at Tristania back then, were you," Eva queried, "maybe you should have given them your opinions."
Scoffing with a smile, the colonel remarked, "I'm surprised you know. Well, Scholl's terms were, in retrospect, too generous. We're not here to help them. We are here as occupiers. Still, I would not go that far as to put in a threat on an agreement."
"Of course not," Eva grumbled, "that's asking for the gods to strike you down for that insolence. The general has assigned you on garrison duty until our MPs could arrive to support you. Same procedure as Halkenginia, more or less. Don't be afraid to beat up any allied soldier flouting regulation."
"I'll... try my best, Your Highness," the Eirean stated, pausing at the door as the two made their way to their transport. Looking over her duties, it was starting to feel like Tristania all over again. The only difference is that this was no longer a solo effort, and anything she does here would reflect on their coalition allies as well.

"You had your scowl on ever since that witch taunted the poor girl in writing," she spoke in her usual sarcastic tone, turning to face the female Selkie colonel behind her, "no, I'm not cursing the woman. Well, not just."
Of course, the lancer may just be calling all Karlslander 'witches' as a matter of fact. For a nation that had more experience fighting witches than employing them, there was no question the term was almost akin to a slur for Wolfeners.
Italica Castle, Italica, Sadera
16th Panzergrenadier Brigade
25th August
Entering into the city, the column of tanks and IFVs of the 16th Panzergrenadier Brigade were weaving their way into the empty streets. Sappers from 523. Kristalliner Panzerpionierbataillon Nr. 150 were already busy clearing the obstacles meant to block their path, while scores of PoWs were being led off in the thousands, a decayed display of humanity thanks to the sudden siege befalling them. Sitting atop the tank canopy, Lt. Amalgard Kahn tried to keep her eyes straight. It was hard to keep her exhilaration from taking hold. After all, this was the first city they had ever taken. Still, this was nothing like the tankery matches of her youth, where death was confined to the occasional accidents that came with heavy machinery. Here, they were facing real enemies, and while their anti-tank weapons had not been able to do much, her squad had already lost a couple of tanks, and a few more hearses to send back to Wolfenium.
As for Liam and his team, the blood and grime painted on their bodies said it all as they awaited further orders in the city. Standing guard as the throngs of enemy soldiers shambled out, it was hard not to pity their fate. His spears on hand, he felt close to tipping over in exhaustion. However, he was still able to stand for a while longer, as relief from other troops slowly flowed into the city.

Bowing her head slightly as she heard Aran's opinions, the Wolfener stated with an easygoing smile, "if I wanted to hear a politician's opinion, I would have stuck with Her Highness. I just want to confirm what I already suspect. But I have to admit I don't know what Model is thinking, though like you said, vindictiveness never got us anywhere."
"The thing about unconditional surrenders is that they are a farce," she mused, "we impose our terms as we please, and we present a Hobbesian choice to our opponents to accept or reject them, even if there's no reason to add that last clause beyond pure intimidation. The best these people can hope for is that we act magnanimously, and who among us would want to do that?"
"But enough politics," Brigid remarked with a wink, "I'm getting a drink. I don't think I'll get the chance once my HQ sends the MPs. I'm not worried about the Belkan trio, but anyone else from the Schild would be a lot harsher on imbibers like myself. Take it as my warning to knock yourself out while you can."

Indeed, unconditional surrenders were antics, both from the standpoint of the ones surrendering and from the standpoint of the ones being surrendered to: One had no other choice then to keep it to his or her words of laying down arms and had to accept terms imposed, the other was, simply put, buggered.
A city surrendering unconditionally could not be simply occupied by their sacred laws, that was, why the agreement of the Freedom of Movement was so important for the SDF, but they could not move through until that agreement stood, the terms were signed, whichever phrasing one preferred.
If the city was one with river crossings and bridges... it stopped.
Aran nodded. "That sounds like a good idea.", she said and gave a small smile, "If you want, I could invite you to my HQ. Our MPs are not as strict when it comes to a glass or two, plus, I have a good bottle of whiskey there. Nocht Water, to be precise, fifteen years old."

Peering back at the colonel, Brigid raised an eyebrow at the man's query. She was sure her rank would have made it amply clear. Perhaps the three crests with oak leaves were not as identifiable to outsiders. With a smirk, she remarked, "Maybe~. Colonel Brigid Reynolds, Wolfen Imperial Army, 16th Mechanized Brigade. Besides, not only preempted the person her tirade, it was not a local at all.
She had seen those two at the signing of that piece of paper, representing... Minroz, she thought.
"Indeed.", she said and brought her boots together with a click, saluting (and glad that she now knew her conversation partner's name): "Leftenant Colonel Viola Arán of the Tribe of Fermanagh, 18th Maor-Regiment, SDF-Army Force Grey Wolf. I represented the Free Lands at that... 'ceremony'."
That done, she dropped the salute.
How she emphasized 'ceremony' made it quite clear, that she did not think too highly of what she had witnessed.

Notice of ReinforcementsSekka Verndara

10 Desyllians (maximum safety | OOC: Recipients & whoever is permitted by them)To: All allied senior commanders
After some further deliberation — and some pleas from my more morally-minded associates — I am pleased to say that I will soon be able to send in a group of new reinforcements. However, I will be delaying their entry due to the constrained spaces (except for Monte), in order to allow more important units, ones not nearly as reliant on magic to perform exceptional talents, to enter. However, my new group is by no means incompetent, and will prove to be capable in our coming battles.
The Domeses Arsum of Machine and the Domeses Polikun of Machinery Archedama Automata: A Psytrine automaton and master of machine magic and machines themselves, his primary role will be in the back-line, where he can create new machine parts with only himself and the necessary resources, somewhat alleviating the need of distant factories to construct such items and ways to transport them, though obviously he will not entirely eliminate the need. He will initially be accompanying Björn Draguda and his berserker corps, where he will be using his mechanical mastery to expedite their otherwise mediocre movement, but he can of course be called away for more important roles.
Einherjar Björn Draguda and his Berserker Corps: In total, these ferocious Friglan fighters number a mere one hundred fifty-eight Berserkers, forty-one Valkyries, and one Einherjar (Björn himself) but are nonetheless renowned for their incredible prowess in battle. With a blow of their leader's sacred horn, the small corps is able to fight until they are completely obliterated, pain incapable of impeding their progress. Though accustomed to battles where they can engage their enemies in melee, using vitality blessings and magic-based shields to survive, the lack of usable magical energy within the Saderan world make this suicidal at worst and mildly disruptive at best, and as such these men and women will be and have somewhat been trained in more modern warfare.
For our operation's purposes:
All Berserkers of the corps will be equipped with Parcian RPK-74s as their choice of modern weapon, whereas Valkyries will use Parcian RPDs, though they will all still be carrying their usual weaponry.
Valkyries will be using Archedama's Edelweiss Patrol motorcycles in place of their usual horses, a vehicle able to switch between fuel, electricity, and magical energy in order to adapt to different methods of silence. With the crystal arrays embedded inside, it is able to magnify the effectiveness of Valkyrie magic, an ability which the riders will primarily use to project shields and heal teammates.
Björn's corps is fearless, and is equally willing to leap into combat in order to terrify their enemy into submission through intimidating shows of strength as they are willing to sit back and fire like normal soldiers of this sort of war. If commanded to, they will be able to survive better than most with their vitality improvements, though I sincerely doubt that the Saderans will be scared much as such a maneuver would seem illogical.
"Creeping Tortellini" Monte Dred: Able to travel swiftly as a mostly incorporeal shadow immune to physical damage, Monte is specialized in terrorizing his enemies, often through dreams, where he is able to freely manipulate them into nightmares to drive them mad, deprive them of sleep, or warn them. If this rather cruel method is not desired (I am certain that we do not, and I must urge we do not forget our humanity), his ability to become a shadow will still be useful for espionage, though it does emit some degree of magical energy. He is being sent initially to manage Notburga, as I fear that her raid against the slave caravan may have left her especially vengeful, though I will note it is not my story to tell.
"Luminous Welder" Virginia Pilar: A Brute-type assassin similar to Akō Frollo, her scythes are able to slice through even tanks with ease, be used as flamethrowers, or used to throw out ignitable fuel, though of course all of these uses are impractical and of questionable use. As such, she will be using them as rifles instead, with her usual methods of usage secondary ones. She is intended to accompany the Berserker corps, providing another long-range option to complement their much shorter capabilities.
Apologies for my unorthodox methods, but this is a product of our bizarre world, wherein everything, from science fiction to melee combat, has a way to be viable — and a way to be countered. As such, a wide variety of options must be available to me in the event of war, leading to experts in outdated methods, pioneers in others, and an overall nonsensical headache for any foreigners that wish to enter the world of Parfuhmerie.

In order to assist you with our goal of manipulation, I suggest that my assassins Mawsy Greed and Monte Dredd may be of use for our purposes. As previously mentioned, Mawsy is capable of consuming a soul and thereby gaining their personality, though whether they will be able to gain the linguistic knowledge of Saderan souls has yet to be seen, and based off of their uncharacteristic expression of loathing, I fear that they too may have some personal issues with Sadera. Rest assured that they will not lash out easily, not with me watching over them. Monte, meanwhile, is capable of traveling as a partially incorporeal shadow and sending messages telepathically or through dreams, which may be of use in more well-defended areas. Alternatively he can be used to spy upon nearby forces.
