A Brief Yet Sweet Illusion

Theme.

Fardhin, an Empire that swiftly rose from a Philippine Dictatorship in the 22nd century. Lead by Emperador Florentino Fardo y Xia I and his loyal Principalia Nobles, many fell to Fardhine rule. Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand (a peaceful unison through marriage), Hainan, and Guangdong.

Their swift rise to power seemed unstoppable, and only the Pan-Asiatic States seemed to be able to stand on their way. And even then, all hope seemed lost.

But as the Florentine Fleet approached the Coast of Pan-Asiatic Zhejiang, a mystical light engulfed it entirely; and all within were dead. Supposedly including Florentino himself. The Fleet alongside the Throne of Aries fell into the Pan-Asiatic Seas, and only the Don Apolinar and a handful of airships remained of the Fardhine Fleet.

The Empire was not as foreigners sought to portray it, at East not in the eyes of it's citizens. Fardhin was a brilliant existence that brought glory and grandeur wherever it passed. And alas, what might have seemed like a New Srivijaya or a new Majapahit was nothing but a Brief, yet Sweet Illusion.

The defeat sent shockwaves throughout the Empire, and now the Pan-Asiatic States dares to push forward and drive Fardhin back into nothingness; as rebels and jealous rivals seek to pick apart it's bones.

Will your people rise from the ashes of conflict and seize the reins of history, or preserve the ideas of the old world? A new dawn is rising. Good luck, Leader. History has its eyes on you.

Off the Coast of China
The shadow of the Florentine Fleet cast fear upon Asia. The Throne of Aries especially, with the Fardhine emperor himself on board. On a course to Zhejiang, the Empire would have continued to flourish. But....

A great blue light flashed from nowhere, engulfing and devouring the fleet. At first nothing happened, but slowly and surely; each ship began to drop into the ocean one by one. The cause is unknown, but the Fardhine Fleet has been decimated.

From the deep, blue, azures of sky and of sea emerged Black-Suited men of the 10th "Manananggal" Urban; taking the major port of Hong Kong by surprise- and with no warning. No other words could describe what happened that morning. It was slaughter. Cold-blooded slaughter.

By morning, men of the Special Forces Regiment indiscriminately sabotaged points of interest, firing on militarymen and civilians alike. The initial shock took the Empire by surprise, as by the time Fardhine support regiments could regroup- Stealth Myasishchev M-50 Bounders had already struck the skyscraping, smoke-leaking corporate towers if the cityscape, effectively cutting off supply lines.

By afternoon, what was but a small detachment, became a full-scale invasion force. With Guangzhou City unable to provide support to their southern citizens, Frontier Divisions from the North led precise breakthroughs through the land, air, and sea. Top-of-the-line Sentinels rendered Artillery useless, striking point to point with agility never seen before in modern combat.

II Corps led the charge from Guangxi, regrouping with III Corps from the tail-end beachhead established earlier, south of the city. The immediate aim was to sandwich Fardhine forces with overwhelming airpower, then signal an advance by land through the Special Forces Regiment.

It seemed to be a normal day in the Capital of Pampanga; people went to the market to by ingredients while others went to church to pray, but others seemed to be planning to do something else. Shots were fired and a man in a military uniform stood up in a table and started to speak.

"My fellow country men!, men and women of all Philippines, Filipinos all over the world, beyond the mountains, beyond the seas, listen. A solemn hour is about to strike in the history of the country. The empire has grown weak and i, Marc Cuerpo, promise that you shall bear the fruits of our country if you help my cause and rebuild the lakanate. I will erase social class and bring equality to our society and i promise equal opportunity to everyone! but if you do not wish to help my cause..then you can JOIN THE FARDHIN SCUM'S IN DEATH!"

Long-range missiles emerged from their silos, launching into the air; directed at Nuevayangtze City.

Panic due to a lack of commander ceased for a moment, as Tiktik Airships took to the skies to provide air support and defend the skies alongside Maya fighters and Bubuyog gunships.

Meanwhile, the Fardhine troops withdrew shortly deeper into the territory. They were planning something, even without the Florentine Fleet, each city was supposed to have a good line of defense.

A large well-lit room with a table and a holographic projector in the center. Surrounding It, several military officers and officials discussed the situation. Two stood out; a tall man and a woman, well-dressed and appearing to be a married couple as hinted by their identical diamond on obsidian rings. They both seemed to be quite old.

The man, tall and tan; wore a greatcoat as white as his own hair. He had glasses and a bit of a mustache.

The woman, wore a similar greatcoat; and actually seemed to have more authority than the man. She had a purple collar, which in Fardhin, signified Imperial Blood. She was a Prinsesa.

"With my father gone, my brothers think they should be in charge. But I assure you all, I was named the heir; so we should all calm down and assess the situation." The woman said.

"We have more than enough Tiktik-class to maintain an air defense for a while, we just have to hold out. I have personally given orders to the soldiers in Guangdong to withdraw further within the territory, in order to lure the PAS troops inward." The man said.

Five hundred men, detachments from II Corps had dropped from the skies and unto the heart of Hong Kong to wreak havoc within the tight, military phalanx. Equipped with KN-3 Light Machine Guns and Type 19/31s, the men and women of the 10th suppressed Anti-Aircraft fire to the best of their ability.

Thousands of people ran in fear up and down the urban jungle, only to be mowed down by catastrophic Air Power and Small Arms Fire.

With enemy support cut-off, squad members of the 6th Vanguard Company breached the bunkers of the city from the hollow streets. Led by Kapitan Luis Velasquez, the 6th Vanguard's mission was to rendezvous with Datu Nazareno's 14th Frontier from the Southern exterior of the City.

"Luisita! Abante, abante!"

The 6th were behind schedule. Suppressed by Fardhine Infantrymen, it was too late when they realized they had landed 10 miles off-course and into the heart of Fardhine Resistance. The 6th was irregular in their formation, trained for commando operations meant to cripple enemy spearheads. Armed to the teeth with some of the finest Special Operations weapons the PAS had in possession, the shear pressure of Fardhine reinforcements remained unbearable for the squad.

"Short, controlled bursts!", yelled Kapitan Velasquez, firing his Katagalugan AK-51u at an enemy sharpshooter. His suppressive fire blew out the target's concrete cover, exposing the sharpshooter for a clean headshot- fired from PFC Luisita Yoon-Sook's destructive M56 "Alitaptap".

"This is Katalonan Liuxian, requesting Sector-55B on Holopoint, over."

"Granted. Initializing communication."

"Uh, yeah. Katalonan Liuxian here. Are you picking up a large projectile on your radar, over?"

"Haha. Joke's over, Katalonan. The sky's clear, over. Maybe it's solar interference? Heavy orbital radiation today."

"Over and out. Requesting a communique to maintenance, tell them we may have a malfunctioning SR-Drive. 55B says it may be solar interfe--"

"Ma'am! We're picking up an emergency broadcast from Sector-11C, 66A, and 99A!"

"On screen."

"--ILE INBOUND TO POINT-BATHALA! I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! WE HAVE A--***"

The Fardhine Missile combusted directly above Nuevayangtze, nearly killing millions. At the last second, 3rd Squadron from Beijing fired a Heatseeker- immobilizing the projectile.

To the public, vulnerability to Fardhine counterattack was near non-existent after such a critical PR incident. As residents picked themselves up and continued their daily lives, Pan-Asian superiority seemed rather shattered, and the Secretary-General manipulated this to demand more budget from public taxation.

The Joint-Economic Commissariat invested much more in Arms Manufacturing subsidisation- to the brink of total war. At this point, one could buy an AK-74 with one's Lunch Allowance.

Ever since the attack, evacuation plans, air drills, and mandatory conscription became much more frequent than buying lemonade. The economy began gearing to a full-on counteroffensive, as the Secretary-General promised that the Pan-Asiatic States would strike back.

A huge offensive was coming. When, where, and how, was a closely guarded secret.

On a small bridge between a small door entrance into the warship, and and the dock; a husband says farewell to his wife.

"I suppose this is it, Juanita." The husband said. "No trying to stop me from plunging into my death?"

Juanita grinned briefly. "I suppose not, Patricio. You're the Kataas-taasang Almirante, the Grand Admiral; and I'm the Imperial Princess and acting head of military. I'll have to send you off."

"Take care of the kids for me, Prinsesa."

"I'll do it for us, my Don Almirante."

Patricio turned, stepping forward to enter the warship. He put his finger on his earpiece for a Brief moment, giving his orders. "This is Grand Admiral Juan Patricio Velez, get ready for deployment; over."

58 Tiktik Airships, 278 Gunships, 564 Fighters; this was the number engaged in the defense against PAS forces in the skies. Now, a new order just came in; "Lure the PAS forces deeper within Guangdong. Let the defense system do its job. Withdraw."

In light of recent events, wherein a left-wing rebel had shot several noblemen and businessmen who had opposed him; the Fardhine Military Police immediately took action. Rebels were a rare problem, due to Fardhin's effective police force; though with weakness in sight, his was bound to happen.

5 Troop carriers were dispatched, making their way into an area of San Fernando where a crowd had gathered. The cameras caught it all on tape, and matching it up with the extensive Big Brother Database; the man was discovered to be Marc Cuerpo.

The police vehicles surrounded the area, and from each carrier; out came 25 men armed with rifles; 5 of which wore exo-skeletal armor. All in all, there were 125 of them, ready to engage the surfacing rebels.

Marc's Hired Mercenaries charge towards the Police and troops. It was a bloody battle, men stabbed each other and fired at each other at blank range.
"PATALSIKIN NIYO MGA DUGO NILA!!! KATAYIN NIYO SILA!"
Marc's orders gave a bit of moral to the mercenaries.

A rebel with a bolo, stabbing a Conquistador. The blade broke easily, and the Conquistador turned to him. Practically a juggernaut, he merely punched the man in the face and the powerful mechanical limb combined with the metal hand broke his neck.

On the rooftops, police snipers climbed up; avoiding fire to find a safe vantage point.

Meanwhile, on the ground; lines of policemen employed shields and mowed down the rebel hordes with machine guns.

It was a devastating battle for Marc,His men were weak and lack the same equipment as the police man and Troop's had.With out telling his troops, Marc fled the battle and headed to the Arayat to live another day and maybe one day have be successful. While he escape, his men continued the fight against the police and troops of Fardhin.

As the rebellion in the Pampanga region of the Philippines retreated into the mountainside and the nearby provinces, suffering heavy casualties along the way under the hands of Fardhine security forces, a new and untested military force would soon find its baptism of fire as it drops itself on the opposite front of the conflict...

As fighting raged on within the urban sectors of Hong Kong between Fardhine forces and the PAS, a strike force consisting of the elements of 712th Airborne Commando Regiment the 1st and 2nd Airborne Divisions of the 4th Slaviikian Army begin dropping down from the grey skies above, with Ilyushin Il-76 transport planes each accompanied by trios of Sukhoi Su-27 fighter escorts from the Slaviikian Air Force, while Sukhoi Su-35 strike aircraft and Tupolev Tu-16 strategic bombers of the SAF prepare to fly sorties and bombing runs above the war-torn state.

Dozens of transport aircraft, loaded with soldiers, tanks, and equipment, stationed in Afghanistan are ready to take-off and provide back-up to the strike force when needed, and the remaining elements of the Slaviikian Central Armed Forces have since stationed itself in the capital of its mutual ally, the PAS.


Inside Guangdong airspace, Strike Force Alpha is reaching their target destination.




"All units, this is Whiskey 1-1. Be advised, Strike Force Alpha is reaching target location. ETA 3 minutes. Standby for drop, over.

"Whiskey 1-1, this is Whiskey 1-2. Solid copy. Be advised though, we are seeing heavy AA activity on the ground below us here. You think we're gonna hold out long enough to drop our boys down there?"

"I wouldn't worry too much about 'em, Whiskey 1-2. Intel reports that Fardhine forces are currently occupied with mobilizing forces in response to the PAS breach. Heard they shit their pants when our boys at the PAS dropped down, got disorganized in the panic. No further updates on the disposition of Fardhine units, however. Our intel's gone silent for awhile."

"Strike Force Alpha, this is Overwatch. Be advised, our guidance systems show you have multiple bogeys nearing your formation. You are advised to take all necessary measures in engaging any potential hostiles, we don't know how these Fardhine guys fight yet. We need our boys on the ground as soon as possible to help out the PAS. Over."

"Roger that, Overwatch. All passive and activedefense systems are enabled, Strike Force Alpha would be reaching target location in ETA 1 minute."

"Roger that. Overwatch copies all. Out."

"Whiskey 1-1, this is Whiskey 1-2. Be advised, we are moving to your starboard side to-"


A quick and fast moving object suddenly whizzes past the formation of Strike Force Alpha followed by a loud explosion and a bright flash, while a fellow transport, Whiskey 1-3, loses half of its right wing while the fuselage is engulfed in flames and beings to violently descend. The formation, whilst unaffected, is taken by surprise.


"Shit! What was that, Whiskey 1-2?"

"This is Whiskey 1-3! We just lost our right wing! Fire in engine 3, cut the fuel! Shit, we just lost electronics! All units, this is Whiskey 1-3. We are going down, I repeat, we are going down! Mayday, mayday, we are losing altitude! Pressure is going down, stabilizers are gone and- AGHHHHH!"

"All Whiskey units, this is Trident Leader Alpha. All escort units are breaking away to engage bogies. Weapons free, weapons free!"


A mere seconds later, numerous Fardhine fighters and gunships engage the formation, while fighter escorts break away to engage the aggressors. Attempts to successfully intercept the bogeys were however futile, and the strike force suffered heavy casualties. Of the 250 transports that made up Strike Force Alpha, only 41 managed to drop its troops onto the ground.

And even then, due to chaos and panic that ensued from the assault, majority of the transports misdropped their assigned units several miles from the target location, scattering different units into different sectors, some fortunately landing near PAS units, while those unfortunate enough would find themselves deep behind enemy lines.

Slaviikian commandos weren't expecting such volumes of fire in their first day in combat, let alone their first ever conflict, but they have trained for this very moment, and the years of civil war that the Slaviikian people endured weren't going to be put to waste. If they wanted to show their military strength and demeanor, they were going to fight for it, even in the face of adversary. Once they touched the ground, commandos of the 712th ACR, known as the "Bootcamp Bastards" for their exceedingly gruesome and intensive training scheme (which led to their exceedingly elite and skilled flexibility in warfare), would immediately link up with any friendly unit (be it fellow commando or PAS), and zealously and effectively fight alongside it, even in the face of death.

Slaviikian Task Force Command however, was planning on a new strategy, seeing their first contact with the enemy wasn't as successful, nor was it any colorful. The commandos, armed only with anti-infantry weaponry and a handful of anti-vehicle weapons, would have to sit tight and be on their own, waiting for any relief, be it Slaviikian of Pan-Asian.

"Yes sir, doesn't seem that the noticed the concealed automated defenses yet?"

"Good. Order all troops in Guangdong, outside Hong Kong; to withdraw into Guangzhou."

"Sir! The air force just encountered Slaviikian forces! They're allied with the PAS and have dropped troops! Our own forces have already engaged-

"Order a withdrawal. FULL RETREAT INTO GUANGZHOU. The Hong Kongers are on their own for now until reinforcements arrive, but we have to ensure they don't reach the facilities here in Guangzhou!"

West Philippine Sea
An aircraft carrier, two battleships, four destroyers, a submarine and a missile cruiser. What was left of the formerly huge Fardhine Navy.

Now, in the skies; 28 Tiktik Airships. 332 Fighters, Bombers and Gunships. And one Maharlika as a Flagship. With engines strong enough to exit the atmosphere, armor tough enough to survive 5 days worth of firepower from 50 battleships, enough guns to devastate cities, and not importantly, a commander worthy enough to be married to the Princess and be the Kataas-taasang Almirante; the Don Apolinar's mere presence will level the playing field.

6th Company desperately held off the waves of Fardhine Infantrymen- engaging in small-scale Guerilla Warfare to provide reconnaissance for the rest of II Corps. But as Kapitan Velasquez desperately scrapped jammed and malfunctioning Fardhine equipment to build makeshift Fusion Cores- a greater threat blackened the Eastern Sun itself.

"Kapitan.. Is that.. ours? Slaviian?"

"No. It's.. It can't be."

The Fardhine Aerial Fleet emerged from the sunset skyline, like the precipitate of the very sinking sun. Firing on the bulk frontier-corp on the streets of Hong Kong, the men on the ground ran for cover. The strafe injured and killed a large chunk of the vanguard, but II Corps carried on. Daimyo Yazhu ordered all Datus to regroup through the standard Guerilla Army protocols.

Inter-Division Communications went dark. Regiments assumed Stonewall procedure. Every Datu functioned independently- allowing a greater freedom of command, and held a block of land per Division, carving up a virtual No Man's Land to which Pan-Asiatic forces would use to buy time, and thus, reinforce damaged companies. As Fardhine units moved deeper into their territory, interlocking blocks of fortification between Divisions grew stronger until reinforcements could nurse the entire Corp back to full health.

It was as if, in a game of chess, the Pawns did not blindly charge into the phalanx of enemy troops. The Asian Army devolved their ranks for greater fluidity of movement, filling out the spaces given up by the Fardhinos in the process.

I, II, and III Corps were now scattered; fighting in the shadows and rescuing Slaviian units. The PASAF could not risk an all-out offensive. It would be suicide.

"At ease. I have my orders."

In the perimeter of the Almirante boarding his shuttle which would bring him to The Filibustero, his Class-B Engineers whispered among themselves- discussing what was to come. Katalonan Hatomi sat center-front, leading the conversation.

"This is it, men. It's the big one. We're crossing Enemy Lines- and we're gonna bomb it."

The men cheered like schoolchildren. A woman in a kabuto, Katalonan Balisi, unsheathed her Katana slowly, and swiftly raised it to the air in celebration.

"Tamachiru Tsurugi nukitsurete shinuru kakugo de susumu beshi!"

The 14th departed Nuevayangtze later that afternoon. The 15th, the 16th, and the 17th Aerial all assembled near the West Philippine Sea, near Formosa. Off the coast, the 27th Naval Fleet and the 31st Reconnaissance could be seen departing for Hong Kong as well. The time had come. Along with a few more Air Squadrons heading from Beijing, the invasion force assembled from all directions to begin their assault on the Fardhine stronghold in Guangdong. The boots-on-the-ground held their land, and the Fardhine forces would soon be under fire from what what they least expected- a decisive, deadly, well-organized centralized invasion; rather than the suicidal net they had hoped to create.

As Fardhine troops withdrew into Guangzhou, PAS troops continued to push forward; when suddenly, bullets fired at them from all sides of the streets. Concealed and automated guns, built for this kind of situation. The only reason they weren't used immediately, was to increase the number of targets in the streets and catching them off guard. Even with Fardhin's former military might, their government was well known for being extremely paranoid.

"Multiple kills confirmed and rising! The automated defense system that the Don kept nagging us to place works!"

"Good. It seems our backup has arrived too."

Don Apolinar, Off the Coast of Hong Kong
A rather large room of two levels. On the first level, all sorts of military officers and computers were about. In the center was a large holographic display, for all inside to see. On the second level, the higher-ranking officers watched and gave out commands with computers at the sides and a table and display in the center. On one side of the room, were doors into the ship; on the side opposite that, a large transparent sort of window. Thus, was the Bridge of the Don Apolinar.

"Kataas-taasang Almirante! The enemy is in sight!"

"Prepare all guns! And open a channel to all units!"

The Fleet
The carrier came to an abrupt stop, as the two battleships went in opposite directions to the side; guns facing the enemy positions. The four destroyers spread out in front of the carrier, with missile cruiser right behind. The submarine was nowhere to be seen.

Above, 10 airships immediately went into formation around the Don Apolinar, while another 10 spread out in formation. The last 8, moved to the front; and pointing their guns at the enemy, they opened fire. Likewise, the battleships and the missile cruiser as well.

The destroyers proved useful in defending the fleet from submarines and other naval units that came too close, while and unseen force seemed to be firing torpedoes at enemy naval units. The fighters and the gunships did their job defending the airships and the Don Apolinar, while several fighters accompanied bombers to move forward and attack those at the bottom.

The Fardhine Air Force already present were having difficulty fighting two enemies, until the reinforcements arrived. Likewise, it would be difficult for invaders to fight attacks from two flanks.

"Get out of the spotlight! Luisita! For fuck's sake!"

"I've got a clear shot! I've--"

Fardhine Machine Gun nests fired on the brown-haired woman, piercing her soft, white skin. Her face dropped to the mud, her blood joined the pool of desolation.

The streets were quiet now, as the moon shone its bright, white rays over the horizon. Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese soldiers alike lay dead or bleeding on the ashes of the city. The Fardhine reinforcements spit back at the counteroffensive- and command struggled to cope with their losses. The godforsaken aftermath had crippled any chance of a spearhead within the city. Men and women of every company picked up what was left of themselves and headed back North to regroup.

Commando Squadrons from the Special Forces Regiment had arrived from Mainland China. They were not extravagant in their numbers, but they were enough to reinforce the fallen garrisons. Airborne squadrons took advantage of the busy Fardhine fleet, pillaging sectors of enemy control and salvaging what they could to shatter resistance points. The Guerilla warfare continued, decimating blockades and clusters of Fardhine units.

Until hitherto, the frontier had remained a stalemate.

Off the Coast of Hong Kong

The Navigator-Class Submarine Barrage lasted for about an hour, firing consecutive shots at the Fardhine fleet repeatedly, from different directions. Aerial bombardment followed, as Pollisco M11 "Dragons" blasted through the thick concrete walls of the Urban Jungle to support the efforts on the streets. Many faltered to Anti-Aircraft fire, but nevertheless, the joint Aero-Naval liberation force continued to push their luck.

Finally, after a long and dreary battle, the weary men in the azure secured vantage points to the South of Hong Kong- where hundreds of Paratroopers would land. The Southern fleet would establish a second front- breaking through the blockade, seizing command centers, and eliminating resistance from the rear of the city.

After the bombardment had finished, the Stealth Submarines and a detachment of Corvettes then moved East, disappearing from detection.

As Fardhine concentration struggled to keep their killzones to the North, the Filibustero emerged from the South- along with the 13th Assault Squadron. Asian Sukhoi Bombers struck decisive blows on the ground to eliminate enemy Anti-Aircraft units. Asians fought once more on the streets, to roll the carpet for the Filibustero Airship...

Don Apolinar
"Is the Filibustero in sight as of now?" Asked the Kataas-taasang Almirante.

"No sir!"

The Kataas-taasang Almirante bit his lip. The Filibustero was manufactured by Fardhin for the PAS before the war; a modified Pana-class that was every bit the perfect match for the Don Apolinar, which although almost exactly alike in appearance to a normal Maharlika-class, was modified as well.

Both warships were excellent combatants, and had all the accommodations for the highest commander. If only the Throne of Aries were here to level the playing field, the enemy would have never even dared such an offense.

Outer Boundaries of Guangzhou
Tanks and mechanized infantry, all sorts of military vehicles; lined together through the streets, men on board; and prepared to move.

And then came the command on the channel, "Commence the operation."

And outward and forward, they charged and rushed through the streets and roads; spreading from Guangzhou into Guangdong. Taking care of whatever the automated defenses hadn't been able to get rid of; and crushing underfoot the invaders on the streets and roads.

"Prepare all guns nonetheless, and maintain position! The Filibustero is bound to turn up soon!"

Imperial Palace, Manila
A massive complex that towered over the all the structures of the city. A rather young complex, well over only 20 years old; it was constructed as a home for the emperor's family when required in the capital, a military command center, and of course; the center of government. It wasn't just one building, but several; all surrounded by a wall and other fortifications.

Two certain buildings towered over the rest. A tall pyramid-like structure the height of a skyscraper with a smaller pyramid on top, which held within a mansion and garden; the home for the imperial family. Below all that, was purely military and government. The other building, was a fortified skyscraper similar in design to that of a Philippine Church Bell tower but much larger. It had a dome on top, and hangar bays for government and military ships and planes and all sorts of airborne transports.

Now within the larger pyramid-like structure, down below the mansion; very much below ground level, the Prinsesa walked through dark halls alone. Through an area unknown to anyone outside Florentino's inner circle

She soon stopped, arriving at a large circular chamber with a deep well with a staircase at the walls; reaching all the way to a floor down below. On one side of the well, was a bridge to an elevator leading down below. Juanita entered, and down below came the elevator.

The only thing on her mind was "Father, help me."

"This is Whiskey 1-1! THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! The skies are not clear, I repeat, the skies----- ARE NOT CLEAR!

"Say again, Whiskey 1-1, what is your situation, over!?

"I'm seeing fighters and gunships---- on every---- fuckin' direction here! We're taking heavy---- casualties! Request permission to - Shit, there goes another one! Drop the troops, now! We don't have much tim------"

"Come in, Whiskey 1-1! Come in! Whiskey 1-1, do you read me, over!? Dammit!"

"What shall we do now, sir?"

"Get me in contact with Upper Command, lieutenant. Our boys won't last down there in that hell hole 'til we move our asses."


As the majority of Strike Force Alpha of the Slaviikian Army is decimated in the skies above Hong Kong, scattering thousands of commandos throughout Hong Kong and the entire Guangdong region, Slaviikian Command begins on rethinking a new strategy to engage the hostile force. Generals, officers, and military advisers all discuss and debate on the most effective avenue of attack. Some argue on engaging head-on, while others support the idea of engaging in small-scale guerrilla warfare. Some think of retreating instead. The final decision, however, rests on the hands of Upper Command and Majorgeneral Berger of the SCAF.

The entirety of Slaviikian Command is in a rush to think of a new plan, and if they want to get their men out of Guangdong, to say the least Hong Kong, they're going to have to think hard. And fast.

"A significant percentage of Slaviikistan's military rely on 21st century era weaponry and vehicles, Major Burkes. MBTs, jets, helicopters, APCs, you name it. And seeing how advanced our enemy is in terms of technology, even when they were getting their ass handed over to them, they still managed to swat our forces away! At least 80,000 casualties, on the first day! Majorgeneral, we can't risk it! We've already suffered too much casualties, and this was just our first contact! I say we retreat and pull back our forces from the PAS. This is a war we just cannot fight in!

"You don't understand the situation, Colonel. We have men stranded on that godforsaken region! We can't just blatantly leave them off to themselves, can we? Majorgeneral, I do not see any reason to retreat over a failed first contact. It's not yet too late to rethink our plan and attack the Fardhine where they are weakest. I say we mobilize the 8th and 10th Armoured Divisions of the 1st and 2nd Slaviikian Armies from China towards Guangdong in support of our commandos in the area-"

"Are you crazy!? Haven't you heard, Major Burkes, every single inch of that area is presighted and riddled with defenses! Intel reports that the Fardhine have started remobilizing and are redeploying defenses throughout the region! And I've said it before, the Fardhine are just too technologically advanced for us! We can't risk losing another strike force for a futile attempt at conflict!"

"That doesn't mean it's too late, Colonel Dreke. We can still fight them! Our 8th and 10th Armored Divisions have recently been refitted with BM-10 FSV walkers and-"

"So what do you expect to fight them with, Major? BMPs and BTRs, against exosuits and mobile airships? Are you seriously going to sacrifice more of our men just to save fewer, Major Burkes?"

"Silence, both of you! We are going nowhere with all this blabbering! As all of us are arguing in here, more and more of our men are dying out there!"

The conference room immediately falls silent, and everyone turns to the Majorgeneral, whose silence predicts a heavy and thoughtful decision. The noise and cacophony of debate, replaced by the deep silence of anticipation.

"I don't care what it takes to get our men off that city, Colonel. You and I both know that our nation wished to take part in this conflict, and you and I both know very dearly that our people do not take retreating for an answer. Slaviikians would rather die with our comrades in defeat than live a life full of shame and regret!"
"Major Burkes, contact the 4th Slaviikian Army stationed in Kabul. Have their transports and vehicles fueled up and battle ready. Mobilize their Expeditionary Forces, as well as the remaining Strike Forces for aerial assault. Oh, and don't forget to refit the units with their new weapons. I've heard of reports that a fresh batch of BM-10 Fire Support Vehicle walkers are inbound. Have them ready for combat."
"Colonel Dreke, contact the 1st and 2nd Slaviikian Armies in China. Have them mobilize their mechanized and armoured divisions along the border near Guangzhou. We can't leave our boys in the 712th and in the PAS alone. Mobilize their artillery and fire support battalions as well, and provide artillery cover for the advance. We'll show the Fardhine how the Slaviikians like their wars."



It was set. Everything was ready for the main assault. Tanks, APCs, and walkers all rolled out of their stations onto the border to Guangzhou, while helicopters and jets scrambled to fly escort patrols and combat sorties against the Fardhine defenses. The remaining transports stationed in Kabul took off towards Hong Kong, escorted by a much larger force of escorts and gunships. Every Slaviikian knew what was to come, and they knew that the price to pay for their duty isn't cheap.

Slaviikians do their wars quickly and with brutal efficiency, making use of commandos and swift hit-and-run strikes, while mechanized and armoured units break enemy defenses, accompanied by mobile air escorts.

Slaviikians do their wars furiously and quickly. They'll see if the Fardhine can keep up.

Hex 1A, Orbit
A big metal hex floating above atmosphere. The very first step in the "Shell Project". Till the day comes that the Shell is complete, the Hex will prove useful for other things.

Ever since the loss of the TOA, there's been some difficulty deploying 4AT Lamparas; though with the recent completion of certain catapults on the Hex, that problem has now been solved.

4AT Lampara Mechs, fast and powerful; they were usually launched from catapults on the TOA, proving useful in sieges. Now, some were pointed at certain locations.

Hainan
All sorts of vehicles lined along the roads, crossing the large Bridge between mainland China and the island of Hainan. They followed the road to Guangzhou, where most of the fighting was. Along these vehicles, were tanks and troop carriers; armored trucks and transports. Some, were by all means massive. Taking up the whole road and about the size of the German Ratte, there were several of these. They had caterpillars and guns of all sorts. In the center of the vehicle, there was a large metal sphere surrounded by armor and robotics. There were many of these.

"Reinforcements? Clever. Blow them out of the sky."

High-velocity Mk. III Zen'nō-sha Electromagnetic Pulse Missiles ejected from the gargantuan structure, leaving a trail of destruction. The missiles; small, yet of large quantity, dodged and phased through debris- raising hell on the catapult-reinforcements before they hit the ground.

Then, the Damocles set a course for the atmosphere above Formosa.

Operation Kamisabotēru

Previously deployed in Hong Kong, the Navigator-class detachment now moved in on Hainan, undetected by the enemy fleet. Accompanied by Corvettes and the P.A.S Xencovia-Class Sierra Destroyer Chung-Hoon, the 27th fired upon the reinforcements flooding in from the land bridge from long-range, smashing the enemy structure with heavy artillery, and explosive, large-radii shells.

The P.A.S Chung-Hoon now moved in closer to Hainan, releasing an Assault Regiment from the SFR through in-ship Zodiacs. The 31st "Crucible" Shock Division closed in on the island by dividing themselves into seven assault groups boarding seven different Zodiacs. Taking different routes, they bypassed the Fardhine blockade through their undetectable size under the night sky.

The objective of the operation was difficult, yet simple nonetheless. The 31st were to sabotage the Airfield on the island, and pave the way for the 56th Airborne Infantry Company, and the 11th Mechanized Irregular Airborne to land Tanks, Sentinels, and Short-Range Artillery.

Two Zodiacs landed 10 miles off their original position, carried away by the strong tides. Picked off by Fardhine Coastal Defense, it would not be long until the island's forces would realize they were under attack.
