My leeches can survive on land and people die from the leeches over drinking blood (also can I start in the IC)

Autumn Doom Fest was in Deacon County. Which is on the coast... of the Black Sea. Not the Mediterranean.

That said, Orinia itself can be readily accessed from the Mediterranean. But the Bosporus is not under Orinian control.

It is a rather dark setting, and indeed is horror, but it also isn't 40K. Don't be afraid to throw in some levity every now and then, or a bit of optimism here or there if it seems appropriate, but likewise do understand that the proverbial shit is definitely hitting the proverbial fan and there's very little anyone can actually do about that. There will be nobody "saving the world". If you're lucky, there might be someone able to "save the city", albeit through extreme means and lots of hard work, and not without lots of casualties.

It's also a very morally gray setting. Which, in my personal opinion, gives you a lot more room to work with when designing characters and developing them. Everyone just has their own goals, ideals, and agendas, and those may differ between disparate individuals. Most of the "real evil" is in the extremes that some will go to in pursuit of that, especially when group-mentality comes into play. When a person thinks that they are "serving something greater than themselves", they may become more willing to do things they otherwise wouldn't do. It's a world filled with flawed individuals, especially moral flaws. Even immortals can be counted among there; especially immortals, and most definitely when their alien minds and extreme blue and orange morality comes into play. There are demons that wish to destroy civilization, but they aren't doing it "for the evulz", but rather those demons tend to genuinely believe that everyone would be better off without society of any kind. (Still other demons do believe in society, but usually society under an anarchist or libertarian state.) There are other entities at play too, each one with a different and equally alien mindset: such as the fae, who are physically incapable of telling a lie, but take great joy in manipulating others, and who don't see humans as intelligent life.

Have fun with it. Knock yourself out. Don't be afraid to use other posts as a reference if you aren't sure how dark to go.
