A Grim Winter War
Theme Song

The outbreak of war in the North, this time in East Helsa, initiated by the Dominion Council against long-time enemies the United Socialist States once again threatens regional stability. With the collapse of IADA, the Vanquarian war machine, under the pretext of a counter-terrorist operation, alongside their formidable ally, the Liverpudlian state under their Emperor, moves to 'liberate' the lands of Modeno and Namenia from what they call, 'unchecked communist oppression'. However, the USS finds an ally in the United Remnant Empire which has begun making moves to aid their ally in this time of strife and chaos...

Valaran’s stated goal will be to support its ally Donnerland.

Note about forces: since the Valaran Empire has no forces close to East Helsa, its deployment is both delayed, and also made more flexible. ICly, we will be reacting to what others deploy, because they will be deploying first. However this will be constrained by what units are closest to the fighting, and what forces are politically and financially prudent to mobilise. OOCly, that also means that if one side is looking vastly large than the other, this will impact our own deployment — if the Dominion faces a tonne of CBGs, I will reduce.

The forces forward deployed in the Sirides are the closest, and are (by the nature of being forward-deployed) already active. Units in Valaran itself are also active for the most part, but will take longer to fully mobilise and naturally, longer to transport. There is also more IC uncertainty about whether they will be needed (stressing this). Generally speaking, what is listed are ‘normal’ formations — for instance, this is the standard number of rotor-wings deployed with an expeditionary fleet, and so on.

This is done in a similar style as other Orbats posted, so it can be added to the OP for easy reference. I will also make a more detailed Orbat (listing types and numbers of equipment) later.

-- I think I will reduce my Orbat. Its a bit excessive.

-- Imo, Modeno should not be anywhere near those kinds of forces. For the factbook source, we should just use the Imperial Guard Army, which is the equivalent of 14 Manoeuvre Brigades.

E: For instance, with those Carrier numbers, a nation of 10 million would have the greatest Carrier Force in the entirety of Ausozera.

Well that's the problem. MoDENo is a nation of just over a billion.

The issue we have here, is the same as if anyone invaded anyone else, then realized that the defending nation's military isn't just a dozen guys with goat-mounted machine guns, so we try to debuff the shit out of the military to make it easier to simply take over.

Well, I'm not doing that. I simply refuse. The Dominion would've and should've known exactly what nation they were invading. Due to that, they should have known what kind of invasion plan they needed.

To compare, when I invaded Zhangua, I committed over 400,000 ground troops, two entire fleets, and two numbered air forces to the war effort. The fact that Vanquaria and Liverpool together have an invasion force of roughly 70,000 ground troops, a couple small fleets, and make up a sizeable air force should be clearly noted, especially when taking an NPC they would know is not some 3rd world nation, especially since Vanquaria especially was in this exact same nation last year involving a rebellion. I was also there.

You have shared canon with Modeno/DEN, but this does not give you carte blanche to supercharge an NPC's stats. This is a cooperative RP and a cooperative region. Hence, this kind of crap needs to be run past people, because you've literally made an NPC the most populous nation in Ausozera, and given it the second most powerful navy in the region.

Remember, DEN's stats were half the reason why he was kicked from canon. The whole point was those stats shouldn't be kept.

10 million. This is the first time I've heard such a number for this nation's population. I've never tried to be coy or sly, I was very up front in the fact I was using the original nation's military layout. I have never attempted to mislead or misrepresent exactly what I was doing, which was RP'ing as DEN.

I have never increased it on the fly. It's always been a billion or so people. Anyone in the region had the ability to know that simply by existing here ICly, and OOCly by simply asking me or DEN directly or even checking the region's applications where Namenia is listed with its population.

I've never supercharged this nation. From the very beginning I outlined what I was doing, especially when everyone decided I was running DEN. I have the mentions in Auso of several people saying "URA should control DEN." Anything changing past that was not run past me. No one, until this running conversation, has notified me of any change to the plan, so note my frustration that after several hours of working on information I am told to scrap it because it's not what people expected, even though I have never once given any indication they should expect different, and no one until this conversation has directed me to give them different expectations.

Also, to note, MoDENo is not the most populous nation in Ausozera, so that's simply false. My own nation has about 300 million more people. Which has also been a stat I've used for years.

The sad thing is, when looking at DEN's military stats, they are horrible, so the fact they are considered "OP" is simply laughable.

What's more laughable is that the nation should be immediately dropped to 1 percent of its population because "the military too big" even though nations in the real world with comparable populations of a billion have militaries multiple times larger than MoDENo, and nations with populations similar to what you want(Cuba, to note), still have a larger military than what MoDENo has.

As a note, aforementioned Cuba has a total military(active, reserve, paramilitary) around 1.2 million people, with only 11 million citizens. And seeing as how MoDENo is a strictly communist country...

You know what, fuck it. You're right. If DEN is a commie country, it would make sense for it to be 10 million people and have a military of a million. Because if MoDENo was a billion people, it's military should by all accounts mirror China's instead, which has about 3.5 times as many troops.

I myself would be okay with a Pop of 10 Mil and a military of 1 million, for simplicities sake. Also, it'd give Modeno a fighting chance.
