Operation Belisarius

Armies On Order Of Left To Right: C, A, BI, BII

In the recent past, while the coalition forces had made sizable gains in Nigeria the HNA stronghold in Eket still stood strong. With various key sites near Eket finally having been captured, it was decided to launch the fateful offensive on the city, with the operation being named Belisarius.

Prior to the offensive starting, the air force was instructed to give major priority to preventing HNA forces from leaving Eket. Several FSR satellites would focus on the Eket-Uyo Road and it's surrounding areas, in order to spot any unit in case they try to escape the city. The airforce would also try to disable communication networks of the HNA which led to Eket.

Army BI and Army C would be essential to the plan to take Eket. The two armies would perform a pincer maneuver North of the city, which if done would cut off all escape for the HNA army. Seeing how barely any resistance was being encountered outside Eket in the past, army commanders concluded that the same would probably remain true. They also concluded that the largest threat would probably be landmines planted by the HNA, and precautions were taken to locate and disable any mine found. A thousand troops from Army C would also arrive directly West of Eket, in order to block a possible escape from the city via the bridge.

While the pincer maneuver would be the most vital task for Army BI and Army C, they would also perform other offensives of their own. Army C would continue the push westwards. The towns of Mkpat Enin, Ikot Obio Ndoghe, and Iko were designated to be captured, further increasing inroads into HNA territory. As for Army BI, they'd focus on Ikot Ubo and then focus on making inroads Eastwards towards the Eket-Oron Road. Furthermore, the small HNA force which was found in the area was to be eliminated.

Army BII would continue its Eastwards push towards Enwang. However, at least for now Army BII would only approach near the town, not close enough to get into a major fight with the defenders. Although now deep within the jungle, it was hoped that a future French-NAF victory in Enwang would offer some relief. Some forces of Army BII pushed North and would try to take portions of the Eket-Oron Road. There they would also be supported by Army BI who'd also be closing into the road (not shown correctly on the map).

As for Army A, it continued pressuring the defenders in Eket. The army would focus on securing the perimeter and clearing it of HNA forces and continue its policy on attacking the outskirts of the city. Special orders were given to secure the bridge near Eket or more specifically the area East of it. This would allow for the thousand-strong detachment of Army C to cross the bridge safely and reinforce Army A.

After the encirclement was established the coalition armies were instructed to keep focusing on low-risk attacks on Eket and to prepare defensive measures to protect themselves from ranged HNA attacks. The final step would involve offering the HNA forces within the HNA forces a chance to surrender. Once again bombers would air-drop fliers into the city, promising them that the CSN didn't plan to ban Christianity nor colonize Nigeria. It would also be pointed out how the HNA refused to negotiate with the CSN and how it led to further ICN control over Nigeria.

The Battle of Enwang

To the northwest the French when to secure the bridge. However, despite their bombings and mortar fire, a sizeable but small amount of HNA troops remained in the small town just across from Enwang. Realizing they could not fight the French head on, they began their own mortar attacks, using their own manportable guns to fire upon the bridge and force the French back as well as destabilize the bridge to prevent them from getting across. While drone and air strike stifled a constant bombardment, the ease at which the manportables could be moved, meant by the time they struck, the HNA troops had moved to a safe distance.

Meanwhile from at the CSN forces encircled Enwang from the west, they would also be suddenly struck by mortar fire and small ambushes from behind. The town of Uko Ntigha had activated its own defenses and where trying to disrupt the French forces, forcing their air and mortar units to work over time to combat the small attacks happening in all three directions. It was becoming obvious what the plan was now however. It was a massive stalling tactic to either force the CSN into Enwang and a potentially dangerous situation or wait until the situation was dire enough that people in Enwang started to suffer from lack of supplies. Either option was no good for both sides but now the HNA was digging in, determined to stop the French advance.

Aussie Attack

The Aussie news must have up playing how dangerous the assault was as none of the three towns it attack had any sizeable portion save for the own Code Named Genesis. In reality named Gbaramatu, the HNA forces only had one job. Destroy the Flow Station incase the CSN forces got too close. This was a failure on the CSN's intel. This flow station wasn't for clean water. It was for oil and gas. And the HNA was dedicated to not letting the CSN use Nigeria's oil. Much like Forcados and the FSR assualt, the flow station was rigged to be destroyed in the event of an attack.

The HNA forces had no chance against the Aussie attack and thus pulled back, keeping up a small defense while retreating. However, as soon as the CSN forces began to take the town, a massive explosion could be heard in the west. The Flow station had been destroyed, gas and oil leaking, setting the forest around it ablaze as the HNA retreated.

Battle of Eket

Things where getting dire for the HNA in Eket. It was a slow wittle but there was one. They had to entrench themselves down and much like their friends at Enwang, the plan was now to stall the CSN offensive further into HNA terrority or force them into an attack that would guarantee heavy losses. FSR was convincing some people to try and surrnder but with the HNA's control over the city, those people where quietly killed or "exposed" as Communist Traitors. Propaganda was in high supply as anyone who could and would fight, women, men, children. If they died, they would live forever in paradise with Jesus, if they lived, they would celebrated as heroes among the Nigerian people and the Saints of old. It was tenious however, as the HNA didn't waste resources trying to attack and only pushed back at the FSR if it got too close.

Nigeria Update Part 8

War still rages and while it looks like the HNA is in trouble, the CSN's advanced has stalled as it is hesitant to march into large cities or villages with heavy HNA presence. This has allowed the HNA some breathing room as they gained a small but important victory, able to push the ICN back and regain some land that had been taken from them. For the time it seemed like the ICN was preparing to stop advancing into HNA territory and prepare for an incoming CSN attack. However, the HNA still has teeth and was able to push an unspecting ICN back. It may not be a massive land grab but it was very important. This has damaged any efforts of the HNA fracturing and may have bought them a little more time to reorganize and attempt to keep the CSN forces in a constant stand still. However, reports of the mysterious diease still ravaging Western HNA terrority are still prominent with the death count rising higher. Its even been reported cases are cropping up in NSRA territory, as refugees from afflicted areas have begun to make their way to the borders of the small nation state.

Operation Genesis

OPERATION GENESIS
Aja-Udaibo
Day 3 after Initial attack

As forces in Gbaramatu, and Aja-Udaibo slowly pushed into the towns, they found that the HNA force was not that as reported, and were able to easily move in troops and take control of major strategic points. The HNA force was completely removed after more than 17 hours of fighting which caused more than 57 Australian casualties, 11 of which were KIA. As the soldiers pushed cautiously to secure the rest of the towns, the flow station to the northwest exploded, although the troops were far away to be affected the shockwave could be felt as Allied CSN forces established a running base camp. During the period of securing the town, no contact was made with any civilian citizen, but the patrolling troops were able to gather information that the HNA was ordering all civilians to take up arms and join a so-called "Holy Crusade".

The 2 Infantry Companies of the 6th Mechanized Battalion, the 1st and 7th were sent back to Forcados while new companies, the 5th and 6th arrived to take the role of the leaving companies. Same happened with that of the 6th and 8th infantry companies of the 7th Mechanized Battalion, being replaced by the 15th Infantry Company to establish an FOB. Of the 30 Williams tanks that arrived on the landings 2 were damaged but repairable with the rest at fine conditions.

As the two villages were successfully secured after 1 day after the initial assault, the ANS Northcott transported from the Forcados Perimeter to Aja-Udaibo about 500 more troops, 13 155-mm artillery pieces and 15 Williams tanks of the 2nd Mechanized. The 2nd Mechanized was joined by the 5th Infantry ,6th MIB units consisting of 300 troops for an operation to secure the Aja-Udaibo-Ogidigben road as an offensive assault on the towns of the Ogidigbe region started. The 20.6km long circumferential paved circumferential road cuts through a long dense forest, and the possibility of ambush has already been considered.

Drones are expected to fly round the clock over the areas across the road and checkpoints and small FOBs with Williams tanks will be established along the road until the area is secured.

Meanwhile a 600-strong insertion unit of the the 30th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, landed to attack the towns near the Ogidigbe regions starting in the towns nearest to the sea with the plan to move up as forces will arrive from the east from Aja-Udaibo to complement an even stronger attack. They were supported by suppressing fire from several RHIBs and 7 Predators controlled from Forcados Perimeter Military Compound.

Somewhere in the nigerian jungles

The General and his team were facing a challenging siutation. On one hand, they had high hopes and wanted to liberate the country from the Christian extremists while on the other hand, the forces felt that the CSN have abandoned them. They have lost contact with the main base and the food and ammo were running out. The old man General had a steadfast spirit and was not going down without a fight but he also did not want to lose more men. He started praying. A while later, a courier has reached them with a new order from Madrid: strategic retreat back to forcados. The soldiers were cheering upon hearing the glad tidings. The General has gathered his men and gave a speech:

" We have thought in Poland in the last war and I hoped that this one will have a different outcome. If it were not for the our of our beloved supreme leader, I would have ordered you to continue our fight. I thought and we all hoped that we will overwhelm the enemy and spread our revoltion to Nigeria within weeks. It was supposed to be an easy target. But the order is the order. We will now begin a slow strategic retreat and let the Orbanis forces replace us with more food and weapons. Last time I heard they were coming to our aid."

Updates On Nigeria & Long-Term Offensive

Image

Armies On Order Of Left To Right: C, A, BI, BII

The Nigerian intervention had been dragging on for a while now, having led to the coalition forces having switched to a defensive position in the past. Within the FSR/Calin coalition, Calin forces were demoralized following them hearing about their country being invaded. However, a combination of a phony war and government reforms brought hope that the invasion might end. Yet despite that, the coalition remained a far more effective force than the HNA which they would be facing. In addition, the secession of Magella left much of the front being staffed by troops loyal to another government. Magellan soldiers were slowly sent home and replaced with Andean or Orostani soldiers in the time which followed, and after much waiting for the transfer was complete.

In Ekat, the HNA had chosen to seclude themselves in the city and avoid active confrontation. This gave Army A the opportunity to freely construct a series of defensive networks outside the city, particularly on the roads exiting Eket. The bridge leading out the town was pre-placed with remote-controlled mines, ready to be blown up at the moment the enemy might attempt an escape. For the near future, the coalition forces would prepare for an assault on the city, yet the general staff remained wary of launching such an assault. They had hoped that the HNA would surrender rather than place themselves under a siege in which civilians would be affected, yet that hadn't gone as planned. Although a siege till the Eket garrison is forced to surrender from starvation wasn't the preferred option, various preparations began to be made in case coalition forces entering the city would find malnourished civilians.

Army BI and Army BII would adopt defensive positions along the front, as well as rooting out HNA hideouts. In addition, Army BI was stripped of a small FSR mechanized brigade which numbered a thousand strong. The brigade would act as a mobile reserve force, capable of reinforcing any position of Army A, Army BI, or Army BII in danger. The brigade itself was divided into 10 companies, which could act independently or conjointly with each other.

In the Western Front, the situation would be different as the coalition forces would lead an assault, normally spearheaded by FSR forces or elite Calin forces. Army C, composed of ten thousand troops would launch an assault towards the Imo River. After reaching the river, the southern flanks would be eliminated, and forces would push Northwards into a more defensible position. Besides the Imo River, the only other set goal was the capture of the entire Abak Ikot Akan Road. Despite all previous experiences showing that the HNA was capable of mustering little resistance outside cities, the operation was expected to take a while as commanders were told to avoid risky maneuvers, though perhaps they'd be wrong and were overestimating HNA resistance. Supposing that virtually no resistance was met in the past, the area could be taken relatively quickly as reaching to the Imo River would take less than half an hour by car and a few hours by walking. (note that the map isn't the borders which must be taken just a representation of how it could end)

The FSR will also be conducting several humanitarian missions within the zone occupied by them. A while back ago, the FSR sent doctors and medical aid was sent to the NRSA in response to reports of anthrax outbreaks. The same thing would be done in the FSR/Calin zone, albeit in a lesser scale. In addition, the FSR decided to support a humanitarian group seeking to send volunteer teachers to Nigeria in order to teach the populace how to read and the basics of writing, as Nigeria's literacy rate is around sixty percent. Most of the volunteer teachers are Andeans, due to English being a mandatory language in Andean schools as opposed to Orostani ones. Reportedly, several social workers had taken the opportunity to preach the merits of socialism to the Nigerian populace, though no organized effort to do so was set up. In the long run, this would at least lead to Nigerians discovering that the HNA's claims of the socialists being anti-religion being flat out wrong, as Christianity is the most prominent religion in the FSR, and in fact the majority of Andeans are Christian. Finally, contracts were signed with several South American cooperatives in order to improve roads and energy supply in the coalition zone. Officially, the military's justification of the moves was that Nigeria's poor road and energy networks heavily hampered efforts to restore order to Nigeria. (a deal also got offered to the NRSA but gonna post that in DT)

Spanish Forces

The HNA forces where allowing the Spanish forces to retreat back out of the jungle, with minimal resistance. However, small ambushes and attempts to steal supplies would continue until they linked up with the Japanese forces.

FSR Front

The HNA in Eket was still digging in. While the FSR built their defenses, the HNA wold strike would with man portable artillery units, trying to strike quickly and move before incoming airstrikes. Worse yet, they would purposely use the artillery weapons within range of civilian shelters they have set up to prevent the FSR launching any retaliatory strikes. They where in for the long haul and they where not giving up just yet. They still had supplies for a few months and thus would keep the FSR grounded in.

In the meantime, FSR army C would come across a nasty surprise. The bridge west of Eket would be booby trapped. Several explosive set on it would have been detonated to damage the structure of the bridge and prevent the FSR from marching its full force quickly into the West. Worse then that they would find Ikot Obido well defended, with atleast 500 well trained and ready troops, also ready to dig in. Worse, they could support themselves with the town of Iman nearby and did not have to use the roads, instead using the surrounding jungle for cover as well as for patrols to ambush any FSR army that would try to cut around the city.

It was starting to become painfully clear the HNA was learning that FSR would try to wait and a city out. While in theory this could work, as the HNA had much less provisions then any of the nations invading it, they believed that plan would fall apart when that tactic would stop any progress into further HNA terrorirty. It had become a waiting game for the HNA to try and force the FSR into a protracted and deadly assault, that the FSR most likely could and would win but would cause a great number deaths.

On the front of winning hearts and minds, this would be a double edged sword. While the people who sick and poor would be grateful and even start supporting the FSR, that would turn against them as soon as they started telling people about the values of socialism. That was a mistake. Thanks to HNA propaganda, the people had repeatedly drilled into their heads that when the outside nations came, they would be nice. They feed you, give you water. Then they would talk about their way of life and how it was better but not forced until it became forced when nobody was left to fight for you.

Many of the Nigerian had taken this to heart so in areas where the FSR started talking about their system, everything from rock throwing, to attempted lynchings to full blown riots would erupt, that fear of the FSR forcing them to abandon their religon despite assurances they wouldn't.

Nigeria Update Part 9

The war between the HNA and ICN has started to turn into the HNA's favor as the ICN is starting to lose much of the ground it made against them in the early phases of the war. Thanks to a new moral push, the CSN call has fallen on flat ears as the HNA begins to resupply and restrengthen from resource taken from the retreating ICN. Reports of the mysterious illness have started to die down and it is believed whatever biological agent that was causing issues within the HNA's territories may be sputtering out. The HNA seems to be taking a tact of pushing forwards while the CSN slowly eats at their rear.

Meanwhile, the ICN woes seem to be caused by some unknown issue in the city of Zaria. CSN satellites have confirmed their was some sort of mass evacuation of the city and the ICN seems to have been focused on moving people and supplies out of the town. However, they have not reported on what may be the cause or even mentioned Zaria in their news broadcast. With Zaria so deep in the country people are suspecting either another biological attack or some sort of natural diease as there have been scattered reports of people from the city developing rash like burns and becoming extremely ill. Right now the ICN fights to hold on to its holdings in Nasawara as a loss there could endanger Abuja and force a second battle for the city.

Commanders both on the Super Carrier New Republic and in the Jamestown Command Post watched as the reports from the battle at Enwang came through on their analysis screens. Drone footage showed the enemy artillery fire from Okobo Ebughu and Uko Ntigha, but more positively the full strength of the NAF and French Confederation deployment was also visible as the majority of the armor not being used for crowd control or held in reserve had left Jamestown. Meanwhile the Republic forces who had deployed through the jungle after the fleeing fighters from Jamestown had, along with the NAF troops, arrived along the eastern edges of Enwang and thus completing the pincer movement. Enwang was now surrounded. With these factors all in place, the strategists began to issue the orders for the next phase of operations.

The coalition mortars begin to fire on Okobo Ebughu. As their rounds fall from the sky and create chaos in enemy formations, 5,000 CSN-aligned ARVN troops, who had first tasted blood during the Franco-Khmer war and were now fitted out with FÉLIN combat systems, begin to be ferried up the river using landing craft. Their approach would be covered by the dim light of the prelude to early dawn. They would land quickly on the enemy's side downstream of the bridge, and make their way inland where possible. If they encounter any enemy presence that cannot be dealt with by their own weapons, they would use a laser to guide airstrikes by strike planes from the carrier fleet, however it is hoped that the enemy would have been lured into thinking the Confederation would be pouring all of their efforts around the bridge instead of an amphibious landing downstream. Combat engineers also begin work repairing damage to the bridge from artillery fire and also facilitate the movement of sixty of the dual road and amphibious armored vehicles over a period of a few hours without clogging up the line for the bridge once the repairs completed. If successful, nearly 10,000 men and 100 armored vehicles would be across the river within half a day.

Meanwhile, the first attempts to storm Enwang would also begin now that the area had been isolated. AFVs would begin to roll up the road, providing cover for the following infantry. Drones would watch from above, with intelligence personnel carefully marking the location of any previously hidden heavy weapons or large groups of combatants. An emissary would also proclaim through loudspeaker that the war in Nigeria was lost, that the HNA was capitulating across the front to the ICN and that unless they wanted to live under their tyranny the only alternative was to accept the terms of the CSN agreement passed by the new Speaker to rebuild a functioning government with autonomy for religious regions. Thanks to the jamming of communications by electronic warfare aircraft and the pincers preventing any messengers from entering or leaving, this would even seem likely given the last known information indicating the HNA had been broken through on the ICN front.

Notably, ballistic missiles from the fleet would target all of the bridges leading for miles on the Franco-American sector's western flank.

The French Confederation forces under the CSN now open a new effort against the ICN.

Crossing at the northern end of the A2 road, 25,000 troops and a large number of armored vehicles enter enemy territory supported by aircraft flying from Francophone territory. At the same time, another 25,000 attack Zango. A further 14,000 act as rear guards and ensure the operation of an effective supply chain. Leclerc tanks spearhead the offensive, while aircraft attack from high altitude to destroy enemy vehicles or artillery from above. An ultimatum is sent via open frequency to all ICN forces;

You are invited to comply with the latest CSN treaty which lays out a path for an end to this war. This will guarantee autonomy for the regions, and protect fundamental rights of individuals. Failure to comply will result in a continuation of the war, and dramatic escalation.

The moment this was sent, electronic warfare planes jam the transmissions of the enemy forces along the border so as to hamper the enemy's communications with front line forces and prevent them from identifying the size of the offensive.

Operation Genesis

As the Australians pushed deeper, they would find the ambushes by the HNA forces less frequent and less numerous. This was on purpose. Since the Anthrax threat faded, the HNA was able to reclaim Warri, an extremely important oil hub. They had to abandon their jungle war and had to reinforce the big city. Luckily for the Australians this had two effects. Their push into the jungles and small villages would consume minimal fighting and Warri itself only had around half of its total population left.

However, the HNA had fielded its largest army to date. Pulling what they could, Warri was now defended by by atleast 50,000 troops, the largest army fielded by the HNA and probably the largest they could afford to field without leaving everything else vulnerable. Like Eket they began to dig in for the possible battle ahead.

Battle of Enwang and Okobo Ebughu

The French ploy worked. The 300 HNA troops in Okobo Ebughu assumed the French would try to repair or cross the bridge they had damaged and nearly destroyed. However, because they where so low in number, they did not have the scouts to hide on the river banks and report back any attempt by the French to sneak past their lines. When it came, it was sudden and violent. The defenders tried their best to keep the much larger army out and allow a retreat, but it they where simply too overwhelmed and not prepared to fight off an army of this size. By the end of it, the French had captured Okobo Ebughu.

In Enwang the situation was different. The French began their attack and so did the HNA and the town's people. Bullets began to rain down upon the French forces approaching, with an occasional RPG flying at one of their AFV's. The French could tell when a trained solider was firing at them and when a conscripted civilian by the accuracy and general demeanor. Their attempt at tricking the populace was nto as successful as they hoped. Though the French where interfering with commucations, they could not block every FM and AM station in the country. HAM radio had made a come back in the HNA as it was impossible to jam hundreds if not thousands of frequencies and the HNA in Enwang had mostly used this to keep in contact with the main operations center.

Battle of Zango

The ICN had been expecting this for a long time and they had been waiting for the day someone would cross the boarder. In essence they where ready for this attack. Unlike the HNA, the ICN adapted quickly and had already learned that the French liked to try and block transmissions. Which is why they went relatively low tech. HAM Radio, disposal cell phones and land lines where used to communicate when internet and more modern means where down. Plus they knew any force of French troops would be large, though they didn't know the exact size.

The battle would begin as pretty as everyone would expect, ICN would attack in small groups, using Zango's very small streets to ambush and quickly retreat against them. Hiding among the panicking local populace, who they didn't even warn about the incoming to purposely cause mass panic in the streets, they would try to blend in and attempt more ambushes. Mosques around the city would become fortresses, with the ICN claiming this was their holy ground and they would not allow the French pigs to defile their lands. Worse yet, the French would also have to deal with a series of caverns under Zango that where used to purposely disable and try to destroy any vehicles that where overhead with explosives or deliberate cave ins.

If French forces kept deeper into the city, the problems would get worse as the the city narrowed, slowing troop movements and giving the ICN much more angles to attack from. Snipers, IEDs, and even the occasional suicide bombing attempt would harass them. A small preview of what was to come if they kept pushing inwards.

Post-Operation Genesis

Image

Operation Genesis proved to be an outstanding success for the Australian CSN contingent, in a matter of 5 days, Australian armor and troops hurriedly secured dozens of towns and villages in the Ogidigbe area. The offensive involved naval support from the ANS Northcott's Fleet Group through deployment of RHIB boat teams, UAV Predator launches, and some AH-17 deployments and land combat units of the 30th Mechanized Battalion, consisting of 600 troops, and some combat vehicles including 8 Williams tanks, and the 7th Infantry Brigade consisting of 3,200 troops and 143 combat vehicles and some 5,000 support combat personnel. However the Operation cost the army 16 lives and wounded 300 men, destroyed 3 MBT-18s, 4 ASLAVs APCs and 1 CV90 IFV, the Fleet Group also lost 2 Predators protecting the convoy of troops. The advancing convoys wasted little time in building Forward Operating Bases, with support combat personnel hurriedly establishing centers of operations for reinforcing Spanish troops, which in agreement with the Spanish government will be serving as base personnel for Australia's FOB bases.

As of now, the 30th MIB and the 7th Infantry Brigade are currently returning to the Forcados Perimeter for resupply.

With the completion of Operation Genesis, the Australia High Command has already started working out the offensive for the city of Warri, codenamed Operation Cheran. The arrival of additional troops in Lagos NSRA from Australia has helped increase morale in the Australian Controlled Territory - CSN , ATC - CSN. The planned attack on Warri will involve the fresh troops from Australia. However due to the lack of roads and infrastructure that connects Forcados to Warri, the Operation will involve an aerial landing as well as accurate artillery bombing runs with the help of local Nigerian scouts that will help Australian and Japanese forward observers coordinate artillery targets, by infiltrating deep into HNA territory towards Warri.

Lagos International Airport
PFC. Ian Spencer

It has been several days since 12,000 Australian troops and armor of the 12th Mechanized Infantry Division arrived in Lagos International Airport, NSRA. With news that Operation Genesis had finished, the Australian commanders of the 12th had received news that the fresh troops will be involved in the upcoming attack on the city of Warri, an attack that will see the 12th Mec.Inf. Division's troops parachuting from C130's into enemy-controlled territory. Though the 12th MID wasnt specially trained to parachute, it was still part of basic training back in Australia.

Burutu FOB
Leila Morris
Avanroa Correspondent
The based erupted with activity as 13 of the Australian 155mm artillery sounded again and again, artillery shells erupting from the camp and blasted towards the direction of Burutu, which by now was the next goal of the army. Another 4 105mm guns blasted and took part. Around the base and the nearby town, soldiers, Scops and armor were arriving from nearby FOBs and areas, I even saw several Spanish troops riding alongside Australian troops on APCs and Tanks, just weeks after they arrived from a horrific failed operation. Now they were part of the Australian Offensive.

Over the course of the day, military soldiers and armor were ubiquitous in the streets of Burutu and around it. Overhead several drones were flying and on the nearby river you could picture our several RHIB fast boats circling, patrolling the area. Then I was awed by what arrived from the air, as 2 AH-17 attack helicopters went pass from where I was standing, the helos circled the town and proceeded to the FOB a few distance away and eventually landed. Many civilians also rushed to check out the new arrivals but entry was prohibited.

Image

It was already quarter to 10PM, the artillery by this time kept on firing, even after 4 hours of non stop firing the base kept on firing. Its as if the city of Warri woudlve already been grounded to dust. But then it abruptly ended at exactly 10:00PM, and just minutes after the last shell was fired, the roar of engines and men shouting filled the night, headlights, searchlights, and light from the drones overhead flooded the streets of Burutu. This was it, the operation, Operation Cheran was now underway.

As of a while back ago, the personnel limit for CSN forces in Nigeria have been significantly raised. Following this, the FSR-Polish front saw a significant number of reinforcements from the FSR, bring up the total number of troops from fifty thousand to a hundred and fifteen thousand. With the coalition now almost certainly facing overwhelming numerical superiority over the HNA, what would be the largest scale offensive in Nigeria up to yet was approved.

Note that the composition of an Andean brigade can be found here, while Orostani and Calin brigades normally consist of five thousand troops. Also, the battle map linked below the image shows where each brigade is heading.

***

Battle of Eket

At Eket, the unwillingness of either side to actively combat each other led to a seemingly quasi-trench warfare. In the past, the FSR had dug in, constructing increasingly elaborate measures to defend themselves from HNA fire. However, this time something different would be tried. In the past, tunnels had been dug under areas with HNA troops. Mines were placed under these tunnels, and exploded simultaneously, which would almost surely surprise the HNA forces which would probably have been expecting a static waiting war. Also, prior to the battle, the FSR had been trying to recruit locals to serve as scouts behind HNA lines.

Following that, the FSR's offensive began. The offensive was started with a major artillery and aerial barrage. While it was intended for only military targets to be hit, it was inevitable that there would be collateral damage. The FSR forces would be led primarily by small groups of infantry assault teams. Various tactics would be used to gain the upper hand over the HNA. For one, the FSR forces would heavily use white phosphorous munitions, which would provide a cover screen for advancing troops. Combat engineers would be essential for the battle, including armored engineering vehicles such as bulldozers, which could be used for mine clearing and other stuff.

In the air, somewhat reluctantly it was approved for full liberty to be given for close air support. The fact that MANPADs were quite common meant that in the past FSR air operations were almost exclusively from high altitudes, which while safe did limit their potential. The first part of the air campaign would come to trying to suppress enemy air defenses. Later, helicopter gunships would prove essential against fighting against snipers barricaded in buildings. Another thing which would be used in Eket would be UAVs, for both intel gathering and conducting attacks. One of these would be swarm bots (akin to that USA's Perdix). These could be launched from aircraft and would conduct recon, and in addition, it was hoped that it might confuse the HNA, including with potentially wasting their anti-air missiles against them.

Leaflets were also dropped into the city, urging citizens to stay in their homes and to stay away from "civilian shelters." The fact that HNA fighters had taken refuge there irked FSR forces, and they realized that perhaps more drastic measures would have to be undertaken if they were to win the city. Safe corridors were also created for any citizen wishing to escape the carnage of the battle. It was hoped that these would lessen how many civilians there were in the city making it easier to make use of the FSR's superior firepower in battle.

Meanwhile, the HNA garrison was given another chance to surrender. The terms of a surrender were laid out, although it was not expected that the HNA leadership would follow. Still, individuals or units would be allowed to surrender if they wished to.

Northern Front

The Northern Front would probably see the quickest progress, due to the fact that roads were already established there. Some fairly important battles which would happen in the future would be the Battle of the Akwa Ibom Airport, where the Orostani 14th Brigade would be in charge of securing the facility. Another would be the Battle of Oron. Ultimately, the Andean 3rd Brigade supported by the Andean 4th Brigade and the Calin 2nd Brigade would be in charge of taking the city. The Andean 4th and Calin 2nd would also be in charge of encircling the city to cut off potential escape. In case the Eastern Front was gotten rid off before Oron fell, then the Calin 2nd, 3rd, and 4th brigades would join in the battle of Oron, in which afterward they'd come to reinforce the Orostani 14th Brigade.

Eastern Front

It is expected that the Eastern Front will be over sooner or later, with the vast majority of HNA forces in the area tied up within an encircled city. The Calin forces in the area would leave the capture of Enwang to the French and wouldn't attempt to join the battle. Overall, the front was divided into three brigades, covering the northern, central, and southern parts of the flanks each respectively. Each brigade would be in charge of clearing their area and assisting the others if needed, as well as the other roles specified within the "Northern Front" section.

Western Front

This front would be fairly tricky, due to the fact that a river blocked any further FSR offensives. Originally it was planned to lay defensive measures by the river, but with the recent reinforcements, more attention was given to crossing it. The Calin 1st Brigade would most likely have the easiest task, with them already having a bridge to cross. However, it was remembered that back in Eket the HNA booby-trapped the bridge, an in attempt to avoid something similar the rustiest vehicle available was "sacrificed" prior to the attempted bridge crossing to see if the bridge would blow up or not.

As for the rest of the brigades attempting to cross the river, engineers would be at liberty to decide what sort of method they believed was best. In some areas of the front, amphibious vehicles may have been utilized, and transport via boat was also an option, though preferably in areas near the coast.

The river crossing itself was supposed to be as discreet as possible. Just prior to the crossing beginning, FSR planes were given the task of jamming HNA communications, similarly as what France did prior. Following that, any sort of hostile activity against the HNA in the area dropped drastically, not resuming until the crossing was well underway.

Logistics

Due to construction efforts, the FSR/Calin occupation zone now has okayish infrastructure. Efficiency in transporting goods by road has greatly improved, and power outages have become significantly less common. In addition, volunteer teachers in the area were given advice regarding conduct. Distribution of food and water along with basic medical services have meant that quality of life has improved in the war-torn area.

Nigeria Civil War: Part 10

HNA and ICN call for peace after HNA front against ICN collapses

The HNA saw a stunning reversal of fortune once more as the ICN made a mad gamble that paid off. Throwing everything had, the ICN managed to pushed the ICN further and further back, decimating their lands retaking alot of land. The casualty rate is enormous and expected to one of the highest in the battles between the two. Surprisingly, this has seemed to have has wiped out both factions, the HNA spefically. Both sides have agreed for a ceasefire and to meet with the DRS to be granted autonomy.

The HNA has been suffering constant CSN attacks over the past few months and has lost many troops as the organization slowly carved a path deeper into its territory. This progress has been slow though and criticized by observers as one of the main reasons the war drag on. It seems the HNA plan was to try and capture Abuja and then surrender to the CSN, hoping to seem like the "legitimate" Nigeria in the eyes of its people, but this gambled failed at the last hour when the ICN pushed back harder then expected. They simply don't have the resources to fight on.

Meanwhile, the ICN is generally healthy and has only been recent attacked by French forces, with German and Nordic forces getting bogged down in a guerilla war in the western jungles. However, it appears they don't wish to fight a protracted war against the CSN and had been asking for recognition anyways. They also had many lost many men during the push to retake land from the HNA. Observers note the country may not conform to all the CSN demands but it will hard to push them on the country as generally most people support the ICN run government.

In generally, this may be the end of the Second Civil war but many commentators say the hostilities probably won't fully end. What started back in 2016 as an attempt to bring up the working class, spiraled quickly out of control and led to two insanely destructive civil wars. Its expected atleast 7% of the population, 1,260,000, lost their lives in this conflict. That number is staggering. Not only that but this war also saw the use of biological agents from a CSN country that has still yet to be fully investigated.

The future of the ICN and HNA look bleak. The HNA destroyed alot of their oil infrastructure to stall the CSN forces, oil they need to survive economically. The ICN currently does not have many resources it can offer. The NSRA, while strong, suffers from an unknown future as the FSR itself it still feeling the after effects of the sudden membership exit. Some commentators said that another civil war, one in the ICN and HNA themselves is inevitable and the stability of Nigeria may never return to its pre First Civil War state. Time will tell whether or the CSN can come up with a solution on how fix this problem.

OPERATION VICTOR'S SWORD

The Persian Battlegroup had arrived, numerous destroyers, missile cruisers, and transports, flagship by the Cyrus aircraft carrier, each ship flying the CSN banner first, and then the Persian Banner, the soldiers wore CSN insignia alongside Persian ones. Soldiers on the aircraft carriers began guiding planes with their signaling equipment. Dassault Mirages began launching, each with a terrific blast of fire and smoke. 15 planes fired off towards Port Harcourt, they were stationed 50 miles off, from the city, which was 20 miles in land, but accessible through various waterways. Planes flew high over Yellow Island, one of the Islands surrounded by the rivers near the city. A small HNA outpost on the Island looked up. They had a technical and a binoculars, and spotted the trails on the jets, which flew beyond most MANPAD range. The planes came upon their first target, Okrika. Okrika Island commanded the entire harbor, and with that under HNA control, no ships could get through. The HNA commanded several guns on the Island, and had fortified Okrika Grammar School as a barracks. Shi'a Muslim Persian Pilots had some revenge to take. The planes declined in altitude, churches such as Tabernacle of the Most High God Church dotted the Island, even though HNA troops controlled these, they were not targets. But the first target were the guns at the head of the Island. Bells were ringing in the city to rally the men. But it was too late, guided bombs and missiles descended upon the guns, if there was exact accuracy, the gun lines were to be shredded to pieces, sending HNA corpses sky high. At the crossroads of Ibaka, New, and Okrika road, the HCA had established a major roadblock with heavy weapons, to block entry to the Island. It was crowded with men, the planes fired, with the aim of shredding it to bits. Then there was the bridge connecting Okrika to the land. A few heavy bombs were though to annihilate it, to leave the Island separated. They cut across the bay quickly, heading to PPMC Oil Refinery, where the HNA was sending out barrels of kerosene, gasoline, and diesel by the day. With two missiles, it would likely explode in a giant burst of flame, the HNA guards were annihilated, workers inside if not evacuated, would be incinerated. The jets did not target Okrika General Hospital for obvious reasons, and now proceeded to the heart of the city. Nestoil Industrial Center at the foot of the city was hit where satellite imagery had suspected military production, not the entire Industrial Park. The jets entered the heart of the city, unleashing rockets at military installations in the city, road blocks, industrial facilities and weapon storage sites. The planes had one last payload. Not on the air force base, the HNA had no substantial air force, and they hoped to capture it later, but on the Indorama Petrochemicals Site, where the HNA was able to structure it's oil industry. A few missiles were fired with the aim to do the job there. The squad began to return to the carrier when a crash punctured the smoke filled sky from the oil fumes. A plane had exploded in mid air, the jets in shock increased altitude, one of the planes was gone. But the mission was done, the HNA's hold on the city remained, but they had opened the way for a ground based assault.....

Operation Cheran Day 1

Postby Bendicion » Fri May 25, 2018 2:28 am

Operation Cheran
South-Southwest Burutu FOB

FORCADOS River Tributary

Image
The 3rd Infantry Brigade advances towards Warri

The black night sky contrasted sharply with the military APCs, IFVs and trucks of the 3rd Infantry Brigade as it cut through the dirt road sandwiched between the two jungles on the left and right. Overhead, several little light dots moved about the night sky like a school of fish, drones meticulously surveying the jungles all around, some with thermal imagine, others using powerful x-rays that rendered hiding from it obsolete. On the ground, trucks were fitted with huge blinding searchlights directed towards the jungle, although a means of announcing the convoy's presence, was still invaluable in order to scan the adjacent areas of the road. Deep in the forests, pre-deployed flanking special forces operatives shadowed the convoy as a first line of defence, waiting patiently until the order to move to the next positions with deep knowledge of the area with the help of loyal Nigerians from Forcados, already given the moniker 'The Forcados Scouts'.

The convoy was consisted of around 148 vehicles grouped into groups of 5 vehicles in order to minimize the long convoy's organizational structure and to help group commanders to coordinate with each other for maximum efficiency and to help minimize ambushes, it consisted of 1 head vehicle, mostly an IFV Puma or an MBT-18 Williams tank, either way the head vehicle is the most heavily armed vehicle and is equipped with Active Protection Systems to find, target and knock down or intercept incoming enemy fire such as RPGs and Anti-Tank Guided Missiles, or ATGMs. The next two vehicles were either a combination of an APC and IFV or a Bushmaster and an APC. The last two vehicles were supply trucks or a combination of an APC or Busmaster. The convoy was supported by about 70 troops and 55 Support combat personnel with undisclosed number of protecting special forces operatives and moved at an average speed of 45mph with vehicles having a 40m distance between each other with the exception of the last vehicle, which keeps a 30m distance.

The spearhead of the vehicle did not encounter any resistance, however 8 men were detained and put into custody along the way and were questioned for identification. 6 of the men were released after being cleared of questioning, the remaining two were found out to be defectors of the HNA.

The convoy, with the help of bridge layers on some MBT-18s passed several river tributaries with ease and efficiency because of the convoy scheme.Within 20 minutes the convoy had travelled 15km and had reached Ngbilebiri 1.

OOC: Zackaroth, your response is essential.

CSN Speaker issues statement

While events in other parts of the world have escalated out of control in recent weeks, the CSN has not forgotten the plight of Nigeria. Specifically, we remain committed to upholding the pledges made under the Nigerian Crisis Resolution Proposal I (NCRP I). Suspected war crimes being committed in the country cannot be forgotten, just as underlying tension along ethnic, socio-economic, and religious divides should not be permitted to simmer. Further partition would only serve to aid these points. As such, I discount completely any possibility of recognition as successor sovereign states. The CSN-sponsored talks surrounding a constitution have yielded positive results, and all that needs to occur for a new era of peace and prosperity to emerge after a post-war recovery phase is that the new constitution must be accepted. For that to occur, the NHA and ICN must cease hostilities against the CSN and meet the requirements of NCRP I. This does not necessarily require the authorization of faction figureheads, and so I warn them that if they do not come to the table on terms that are realistic and equitable for the Nigerian nation that sooner or later they will find their own ranks deserting them and their occupied territory crumbling as this offer is taken up at a local level. And as that happens, the leaders of these authoritarian militia may soon find their own positions under threat from within, as well as externally.

The choice is not that of the ICN or NHAs' commanders, but of all of the Nigerian people. And in the case of much of the South, this is more bluntly a choice between the stability we offer or domination by their extremist enemies who do not share either their ethnic or religious concerns. Such a fate is to be avoided at all costs, else we risk further loss of life on an unimaginable scale.

With Okobo Ebughu now under the CSN Task Force (French Confederation), forces have begun to advance up the road towards Oron (OOC: resistance to be expected is unknown, so I will not go into detail here but instead allow you to respond. This does not mean that they will reach Oron in this post, merely that they taking the road to reach it). Meanwhile, the situation in Enwang was different. With the horrifying realization that the enemy was so totally intent on resisting that even untrained combatants were being utilized the advance was ordered to halt, and the troops and vehicles withdrawn. They would instead maintain the encirclement of the town, and using drones attempt to identify command centers or weapon stockpiles to be hit from smaller-ordinance mortars using satellite-guided accurate shells. They would not attempt to break the siege, but were content with waiting for their enemy to give in when they lost the will to fight. Meanwhile, pontoon bridges are constructed out of range of the town to facilitate faster advance from that bank of the river to reach Okobo Ebughu, and then on to Oron.

Operation Cheran

The Aussie attack was about to get alot more rocky. Though they had loyal Nigerians, nobody in Forcados was in the military. They where mostly civilians and these "'The Forcados Scouts" did not have the intenstive jungle training the HNA had. This would prove to be a disastrous affair. Since they where taking point, lack of full military training(even if the Australians did train them it wouldn't be enough in such a short time), would mean they would get the worst of it. The danger here was inside ambushes but the HNA knew enough to keep back and thus hundreds of IEDS where planted between Forcados and possible paths to Warri and its outlying villages.

The Aussies had inadvertently created a meat shield. The The Forcados Scouts would begin running into the IEDS half into their journey. It would be a mix of actual military grade mines and the homemade stuff one would expect the ICN to use. Ambushes where as common as thought but snipers in spider holes and within the jungle would take potshots at the large convoy moving through. Nothing as extreme as the ambushes the Spanish suffered but more of a delaying and stalling tactic. To the observer, this may mean the HNA was more concerned with an attack on Warri itself since it was theoretically surrounded and preparing for the eventually attack there, rather then ambushing convoys.

French Front

The French would make very unsettling discoveries while they marched towards Oron. The city of Oron had suffered its fair share of travesties. In the civil war during the 1960s, many Oron's where killed in military led bombings. Thus the city itself was not very open to being in the HNA and was one of the first cities to enterain the idea of calling in the CSN for help. This never happened. The HNA forces caught wind the forces within the city led an extermination campaign that was dubbed "God's Punishment to the non believers". The ironic part was many people did believe in Christianity, just not the violent version the HNA had adopted. Much of the town was killed and much of it was destroyed. The city was effectively abandoned, save for a few that stayed behind and a small HNA garrison, that quickly fled once news of the approaching French force had been made clear. The French would find almost no resistance but plenty of mass graves.

Enwang

Meanwhile in Enwang the situation was desperate. Food was running out and moral was starting to slip. The small town of 28,000 people was slowly dieing. Many had hoped that the CSN would grant the HNA statehood but that pipe dream was shattered. The HNA soliders realized there was only one path to take. They began whipping people into a frenzy. It was their "final mission from God" The Heathens from the CSN intended to kill them. When they where sent to Heaven they should tell the angles they died on their feet.

Within moments the HNA and civilian population flooded out of one of the exits of Enwang, the road leading to Jamestown. 10,000 people, HNA soliders, women, men and even children who could hold a gun where thrown into the line of fire. This was a battle the French could most likely easily win, with minimal causalities on their side. But it would be a complete blood bath. Even if the French tried to pull their punches, the people would not and would viciously attack the enemy soldiers until killed. The only relief from this is that if the French managed to defeat this force the rest of the town would crumble quickly as well, allowing them to finally occupy it.

Nigeria Update 12: ICN and HNA reject CSN terms. War restarts and the HNA pays in bloody battles.

In a saddening and stunning turn of events, the ICN and HNA have rejected the calls for peace from the CSN as they both want to be their own states. Both sides have called this a communist conspiracy since neither side is being offered the same deal as the NSRA. This has lead to resumption of hostilities but this small break did not allow the HNA much breathing room.

Instead, the HNA suffered a crushing defeat and where pushed back by the ICN's new campaign. This has led the ICN to be within spitting distance of Onishata, the HNA's capital. Such a loss is threatening to fracture the HNA into smaller and harder to contain guerilla units rather then a concentrated fighting force. This is something the CSN forces have been trying to prevent but may happen if the capital is captured. This has led to another stunning development as very small part of the HNA has officially broken off. It has no name yet but the small group is based in Calabar, an important port city in Nigeria. In a message to the CSN, they are willing to follow the peace plan.

Meanwhile, the ICN has promised those who aid the CSN forces will pay for their sins. What exactly that means is yet unclear.

Operation Cheran Day 2

Postby Bendicion » Wed Jun 06, 2018 9:11 pm

Operation Cheran
North-Northwest
0340
Gbekebor

The spearhead of the 3rd Infantry Brigade had arrived on the outskirts of Gbekebor, 7 MBT-18s, 22 MOWAGs, 20 Bushmasters were now in fixed positions to take what was left of the small town of Gbekebor. 550 soldiers prepared to fight as the 4 155mm carried by trucks in the spearhead's convoy began to pound shell after shell. 2 Predator drones were shot into the air to start operations from the air, while a newly delivered Saildrone was put into the river for it to go near Gbekebor and mount a surveillance on any possible troops.

On the way to the town, 10 elite snipers had established positions to serve as cover fire against enemy forces, scouting their sectors and eliminating threats, while another 30 elite JOTC troops scanned the forests for traps and enemy foxholes.

Overhead the Predators fired barrage after barrage of missiles and ammunition into the town to eliminate and destroy any form of barricade. The predators also fired on the buildings closer to the roads.

The rest of the 3rd was still en route through the forest,on which they encountered numerous improvised ambushes to no avail in stopping

Oron

As the AFVs and tanks moved up the main streets of the town, their crews were horrified by the sights of the destruction perpetrated by their enemy. Once the first squads of troops had dismounted from their vehicles, they too were struck by the brutality of what had transpired. Some of the men were veterans of the Indochinese War, and one battalion of the CSN-flagged Confederation deployment in Nigeria had even liberated a communist camp in the Franco-Khmer War. This was different, however. Before the war the city had held an estimated population of somewhere over 100,000, although the exact figure was unknown. Now, it was a shattered shell. They were the first CSN forces to arrive here, of that there was no question, and the ICN had not reached it yet either. As such, as the Confederation forces began to take testimonies of those who could be found, the reports were passed to the CSN Task Force, and also to Paris. The sites of the deaths were documented, and also sent to the CSN. Given that since the alleged Roman war crime all CSN actions were documented, there was no danger that the CSN would be falsely accused of this action themselves.

A total force of around seven and a half thousand troops had reached Oron when their next instructions were received from their countryman, the Speaker of the CSN, to send a team of diplomats across the river deltas to Calabar. Once there, they would formally present the CSN terms to the breakaway republic, and seek to make arrangements for an operation to link up the CSN's occupied territory. They await the response from the Calabar delegation.

Enwang

If the scenes at Oron had been horrific, the battle for Enwang was nothing short of apocalyptic. Many of the personnel had hesitations about firing on the enemy horde, however this soon changed after the first waves overwhelmed the first few troops. With hardened resolve, they opened fire en masse. They were supported by a ballistic missile strike from the CSN Fleet at sea and ranged mortar fire.

CSN seeks to slow ICN advance

Fourteen UI-92 bombers and thirty carrier-based jets seek to bomb the supply lines, roads/bridges, and vehicles of the ICN front against the HNA. This will be a continuous operation, rather than just a one off occurrence. Two of the UI-92s turn back early in the first wave due to mechanical issues.

Zango

The siege had lasted several days, and many of the Algerian battalions found themselves in conditions reminiscent of the DEU intervention into the Libyan Civil War. However, they would be used to such tactics, as they had also been favored by the long-since crushed APLF. Grenades, tear gas, and drone strikes would support their advance from building to building, room to room. If a holy site was occupied, they would surround it and scan for tunnels leading out of it. These would then be detonated, in an attempt to trap them within. This tactic was also used at other tunnel entrances. They would not risk storming the tunnels, for the most part, instead favoring their destruction or entrapment. Damaged vehicles would be pulled back, and snipers would be employed.

Port Harcourt

Port Harcourt had many weeks to prepare. It was one of the industrial hearts of the HNA and they always knew they'd be such a massive target. However, as the war dragged on, resources began to slip, food became an issue and men where either deserting or sent off to fight in other areas. The Persia attack came, destroying several roadblocks, garrisons, and munitions centers. It had weakened the HNA but not enough to cripple them further as they where ready to fight for the city and it was going to be a rough one with a city that had around 25,000 men garrisoned in it.

But the real threat was not from the airstrikes at the military targets, but at the industrial ones. The attacks against the PPMC and Petrochemicals plants where disastrous. The HNA thought the CSN would not attack gas plants after the last few times. Instead the Persians beat them too it and destroyed two very important centers of oil production in inner Nigeria. Worse, with many men off fighting, dead or left, Port Haurocourt had no efficient means of fire fighting. The fires raged loudly as dark smoke filled the air, oil canisters exploded, sending flaming shrapnel into parts of the city and setting it ablaze. Parts of jungle caught on fire.

But the worst was yet to come. It was September and thus the second rainy season had. The Petrochemicals plant did not just produce gas but various by products of petrol. The attacks and explosion destroyed any regulation of these chemicals and some spilled into the jungle. Most spread into the atmosphere and into the city. The eastern half of the city was covered in a dark smog, causing choking fits, nausea and other unpleasant effects. It spread further into the city as the unconstrained spills and fires raged. Small children and babies died as well as the sick and elderly. People where forced to wear masks or covers but with supplies so drained it was limited and many fell ill. The clinics and main hospital, couldn't deal with the influx.

And then the acid rain came. It was nothing so terrible as acidic water burning away people's skin. Instead it made them sicker as the chemicals released fell back down to earth. The city's infrastructure was not doing well and thus many water plants had closed or where operated by people who didn't know what to do. The drinking water of the surrounding area was poisoned and not safe to drink, causing a further crisis when combined with the creeping famine and previous anthrax crisis. Port Haurcourt was crumbling.

Gbekebor

How prepared the Aussies seemed to fight would seem almost ridiculous at how lightly defended the town was. In fact, the fighting only lasted about an hour or so before the very small HNA force retreated. However that feeling would go away as they saw what was truly going on. Hundreds of mass graves. Hundreds to maybe thousands dead. Some of the survivors in the town would explain the HNA used the outer villages to dump the dead from the anthrax outbreak, causing further infection from either anthrax or other diseases that followed dead bodies. Then as the war worsened they began gathering people, wanting them to move into Warri and bring as much food as they could. This led to people not wanting to lead, which lead to a purging of those who "disobey God". The scene would be repeated as the Aussies moved up to the outskirts of Warri. Villages plundered, mass graves from anthrax or purging with only a few survivors. the HNA was gathering its force for the Battle of Warri...

Calabar

The force of HNA breakaways did not have much room to either argue of negotiate. They agreed to the CSN's terms, agreeing to having the state linked up with the rest of their CSN controlled areas.

Enwang

The Battle of Enwang was more like a massive massacre. These people didn't have a chance. French troops and weaponary cut them down within seconds and the banzai charge failed to gain any massive ground. By the time it was most had been killed, the true soliders, men, women and even children. What was left in Enwang could no longer fight and after that display the French could move in and finally get the village. It had come at a high price, but mostly it was the fault of the HNA.

Zango

The ICN would quickly begin to pull back into the desert. The French forces where able to beat them back, mostly by trapping their tunnels and killing those inside. Those within the mosques would began suicdial charges outside, purposely getting killed to allow their allies to escape. While the French weren't seeking to kill civilians, such mistakes where unavoidable as much of the fighting took place within small areas with paniced and fleeing people. The ICN would use this footage, one of where a grenade was thrown at the ICN and by proxy killed some civilians, as online propaganda on various social media websites, causing a large stir amoung the Islamic populace of ICN Nigeria. They even underhandled used a picture of an exploding Mosque in Zango, one the ICN destroyed themselves and attributed it to the French destruction of Islam. And this was only in one town. The entire ICN still laid ready to fight before the CSN...

Nigeria Update 13: ICN advance slows but still moves forward. HNA on brink of collapse as another section separates from it

The CSN began a bombing campaign on ICN forces that where advancing against the HNA, possibly to prevent a tragic and destructive taking of the city of Onishta. However, the deeper the ICN moves the harder it becomes to hit their supply lines as the dense jungle brush offers much protection as does the ICN's fighting style. Making matters worse, the HNA army is slowly crumbling as the CSN itself begins to clamp down upon it.

The HNA faces more trouble as now Port Harcourt is reporting a deadly smog and many sick from the acidic rains that is poisoning the people and country side. The famine situation started by the anthrax attack has now worsened as what little crops are left are now being reported to be inedible within that area of the city. Many have seen reported fleeing to the NSRA or part of CSN controlled Nigeria as well those attempting to flee being shot dead.

This has lead to Benin City and a small fraction of land starting to break away as well. However, unlike Calabar, they are instead petitioning to join the NSRA, which lays right on its border. Some CSN officials believes the NSRA has been sending agents to turn the population against the HNA government using FSR propaganda methods.(though this is not confirmed). It has apparently worked since many of the people want to join the NSRA as it was a small scale revolt that led to action. No word on what the CSN speaker will decide as it is stated that the NSRA cannot expand its territory through force.
