In the recent past, while the coalition forces had made sizable gains in Nigeria the HNA stronghold in Eket still stood strong. With various key sites near Eket finally having been captured, it was decided to launch the fateful offensive on the city, with the operation being named Belisarius.
Prior to the offensive starting, the air force was instructed to give major priority to preventing HNA forces from leaving Eket. Several FSR satellites would focus on the Eket-Uyo Road and it's surrounding areas, in order to spot any unit in case they try to escape the city. The airforce would also try to disable communication networks of the HNA which led to Eket.
Army BI and Army C would be essential to the plan to take Eket. The two armies would perform a pincer maneuver North of the city, which if done would cut off all escape for the HNA army. Seeing how barely any resistance was being encountered outside Eket in the past, army commanders concluded that the same would probably remain true. They also concluded that the largest threat would probably be landmines planted by the HNA, and precautions were taken to locate and disable any mine found. A thousand troops from Army C would also arrive directly West of Eket, in order to block a possible escape from the city via the bridge.
While the pincer maneuver would be the most vital task for Army BI and Army C, they would also perform other offensives of their own. Army C would continue the push westwards. The towns of Mkpat Enin, Ikot Obio Ndoghe, and Iko were designated to be captured, further increasing inroads into HNA territory. As for Army BI, they'd focus on Ikot Ubo and then focus on making inroads Eastwards towards the Eket-Oron Road. Furthermore, the small HNA force which was found in the area was to be eliminated.
Army BII would continue its Eastwards push towards Enwang. However, at least for now Army BII would only approach near the town, not close enough to get into a major fight with the defenders. Although now deep within the jungle, it was hoped that a future French-NAF victory in Enwang would offer some relief. Some forces of Army BII pushed North and would try to take portions of the Eket-Oron Road. There they would also be supported by Army BI who'd also be closing into the road (not shown correctly on the map).
As for Army A, it continued pressuring the defenders in Eket. The army would focus on securing the perimeter and clearing it of HNA forces and continue its policy on attacking the outskirts of the city. Special orders were given to secure the bridge near Eket or more specifically the area East of it. This would allow for the thousand-strong detachment of Army C to cross the bridge safely and reinforce Army A.
After the encirclement was established the coalition armies were instructed to keep focusing on low-risk attacks on Eket and to prepare defensive measures to protect themselves from ranged HNA attacks. The final step would involve offering the HNA forces within the HNA forces a chance to surrender. Once again bombers would air-drop fliers into the city, promising them that the CSN didn't plan to ban Christianity nor colonize Nigeria. It would also be pointed out how the HNA refused to negotiate with the CSN and how it led to further ICN control over Nigeria.
