Although Illa Islanders have, for the most part, tolerated or even appreciated the Vancouvian presence, major protests began in early 2018 following a Vancouvian refusal to agree to sign a region-wide declaration of indigenous rights. Many Illa Islanders consider themselves underrepresented in Congress, ostracized politically, religiously, and economically, and secondary citizens to mainland Vancouvians. It is in this wake that a growing contingent of Illa Islanders plan their revolution..."

This thread is to discuss and plan for the inevitable revolution of Illa Islanders from Vancouvia, the attempted Vancouvian-led Coalition invasion and reoccupation of Illa, its failure, and Illa's coming into its own independence again. Illa's future shall consist of its remaking of a national identity, its overthrow of Vancouvian ideals of hyper-efficiency, state before self, jingoistic imperialism, and its creation of a military and political network to safeguard it from future Vancouvian advances.

Illa's future remains to be written, what part will you plan in the story?

Tag...I see this is line with our agreement of mutual cooperation in regional affairs. Provided my troops get permission from your government to assist. Since the island will become apathetic to Vancouvian leadership and rule, I see Covonant expanding business venture there if not there already.

Tag - literally next door. I see Noronica being interested in trying to gain off of this, so as to try and garner more Noronnican influence on the island. I'll develop my thoughts further once the thread develops.

Oof. I am already involved in 2 other RPs which seem that they will move at a fast pace. I will have to simply tag here with no plans of involvement.

Illa has currently engaged illegally in diplomatic venues at the Socialist Conference and has joined the Hispanic association. This will garner the attention of Congress and cause some economic sanctions to come down against their own citizens (really a revoking of previously applied economic stimuli)

I believe Vancouvia is doing that gradual occupation, so this could actually work well as a part of their canon.

That is. But with the Anti-Pacifism Movement, AM will have its own moderate size army and slowly request the Vancouvians to withdraw.

And then...

Mich will have some involvement due to proximity.. perhaps to secure shipping lanes or provide humanitarian relief, especially since we joined the JERF
