Coruscant: Noon
Space ruptured and bubbled as if being boiled away forming a core as dark as the deepest void. Energy flickered and flashed around the tear as a vessel emerged from deep within as a strange vessel emerged from the inky blackness of the infinity. Across the city below klaxons sounded and defenders were scrambled hoping to get into position in case it was yet another hostile attack against the beleaguered ecumenopolis. Orbital platforms locked on the strange ship as sensors swept the area, only to crash from the overloaded readings.
Initial scans began to scroll across the screen and then the computer just errored out and began a recalibration sequence. The slaved AI could not accept the parameters shown and logic circuits freaked out and decided the system was not reading correctly and forced a reboot of the entire system. There was no way a vessel less than a hundred meters would have the mass of a star and the energy readings to match.
It was several nerve wracking minutes before an old protocol in a barely functioning database recognized the parameters and was able to place a name to the apparition.
Ta’Nar
A whole different type of panic slowly took over. Distant memories were churned from decades ago before the last few years troubles had made them be buried. Childhood stories told and retold until they were captains and smugglers retelling the tales. Each time the retelling would get more fantastical and horrific until nobody knew what to expect, only that they were somehow back in orbit above them.
The Aperture into Nothingness closed behind the tiny ship and winked out of existence as the wormhole terminated itself. Space returned to normality as the space-time continuum was no longer bent back upon itself. The vessel slowly turned away from the planet below and faced its broadside to the surface. This leant some calm to the observers, weapons typically face the front of a vessel and pointing it away from the planet might be a sign of peaceful intent.
One of the officers managed to get a working comm signal once the systems rebooted and sent a query to the ship sitting in orbit.
“Ta’Nar vessel, this is Coruscant Port Authority. You arrived in a restricted zone and are blocking traffic. Please state your identity and purpose. I repeat, please state your identity and your purpose.”
Turning to one of the officers he ordered, “Reroute all orbital traffic away from the zone and keep a perimeter locked down with the defense ships. We do not want to provoke anything.”
After a few tense seconds, a reply came from the ebon vessel.
“Coruscant Port Authority. This is The Divine Intervention. We are here to reestablish contact with the Galactic Powers. Coruscant has always been a neutral world and believe this is the place to do this.
We would like to either reclaim our embassy on the surface or set up one in orbit where visiting ships can meet.
Until we hear from you, we will move to a location of your choice which will cause the least interference.
One more thing, here is an algorithm which will help mask our ship readings so your systems will operate without interference of our presence."
A data stream was received and after being tested, thoroughly investigated and found clean allowed the slaved AI to function properly.
