Skies Over Derna

The Z-12s were nothing these mysterious planes had seen. Normally, most of the planes these jets encountered would be immediately crushed, however, these certainly weren't Middle-Eastern, they were Victoresian: The air fight was intense! The pilot known as AMA-AKB-1990 raced through the skies, he locked on to a target - Erprilocho - and fired, he seemed to kill the wingman - but not the pilot. As he chased the enemy plane, it tilted up ... and in a moment, it fired a missile at AMA-AHH-1990, seeing the missile, the man slammed the eject button and as he did that, his seat pushed him up as the cockpit opened, letting him escape an untimely death just as the missile hit his plane.

Unfortunately - a fragment from the plane hit his thigh, he screamed in pain as he shut his eyes tight; soon, he opened his eyes and looked down, to see a terrible picture, blood was slowly crawling out of his thigh, spreading all around his leg. I have to act! He thought. He moved his hand down as started to dig into his leg, "Aah!" He screamed as he finally found the fragment and pulled it out of his body. He started to relax as he dropped the fragment, even as bullets rained around him, something divine started to protect him, not letting him get hit. Allah? He thought. Maybe it was Allah, maybe not...

Near Derna

Ahmad al-Khalid and his men had gotten away now. Soon, they crossed paths with the Paleocacherians.

Well we don't have many resources in the national alliance, sighs military advisor John Rickman to President Ulbrich. It's us and 20 other companies of men. We need to prepare a beach head for the national alliance. Ok I will Ring Wilhelm V and prepare a beachhead replied president Ulbrich.

Parliament of St. George, Kingston, Kingston-Central District, St. George Territory
Prime Minister Pierre LeBlanc

Reporters surrounded Prime Minister Pierre LeBlanc, after several hours of debate and other forms of torture on the floor of the House of Commons, the Parliament had agreed upon one thing - to contact the Sultanate remnants and attempt to send the Royal St. John's Ambulance Regiment, as well as the Royal Battlefield Surveillance Force and the St. George Grenadier Guard. A small force to access the situation on the ground, and one that would look good in front of the swarm of reporters, "I'm afraid I can only take a few questions today, as I'm running short on time." Pierre said in a raspy tone, wishing this day would end soon.

The first reporter to bite was the St. George Broadcasting Company (SGBC) she said, "What is St. George's role if any going to be in Qaidi? All reports from the area are showing a rather dangerous position the parties already involved." Pierre thought for a moment, and responded with, "St. George is a peacekeeping state, we seek to help out nations that are having conflicts as to reduce the harm to the civilian population. Qaidi is no different. Ideally, we would prefer a democracy, but owing to the history of the region, we think that a constitutional monarchy may be the best way forward. At this time, Parliament has only authorized a small group to be offered till we can access the damage in the region, as you've seen on the news, bombings, and murders are a daily reality for people in Qaidi today. We are only seeking to assist and help ensure civilians there are provided with the aid they require, I'm certain we can prevent a humanitarian crisis if we act quickly and try and help. This is all going on the assumption that we'll be welcomed by our partners in Qaidi." Pierre said as he tried to stall for time.

"Is this going to turn into a combat mission?" another reporter from the Kingston Star asked, "That's all the time I have right now, all further questions should be sent to the Press Secretary or Undersecretaries." Pierre robotically stated as he turned and walked upstairs, now being flanked by the minister of foreign relations, Thomas Boyd, minister of health Dianne Proux, and the minister of national defense and foreign peacekeeping, Gen. Ian Hennessey.

It was a quiet walk to the prime ministers' office, as their feet hit the floor echoing through the quiet floor on which the ministers' offices were located in the Parliament's main building. A message was to be sent to the Qaidi sultanate's remnants.

From: Thomas Boyd, Foreign Affairs Minister
Subject: Support

Sallam, the St. George government has seen the horrors of this war, and have felt shocked by what has been going on in your country, if not by the Islamist terrorists, or the Fascists, but by the potential risk of damage being done to civilians in your country. With this, the St. George territory would request permission to access an airport to deploy troops to your sectors for the purposes of humanitarian aid, the Royal St. John Ambulance, that would assist in providing necessary medical attention and train your medical units to establish medical infastructure for when St. George Territory eventually leaves, but when we leave, we would like to leave your nation with an infastructure to reestablish the economy and to ensure that a crisis will not break out in the future, for this the Royal St. George Armoured Engineers will assist in building roads, bridges, airports, railways and repairing damages caused by the wanton destruction of the foreign states in the civil war.

We can also provide weapons and training for your troops, with our equipment we can change the course of this wretched war and establish a peaceful Qaidi. A few other suggestions that we have considered is offering spaces in our top Universities to Qaidi students, to educate the next generation and create a much safer world, with this if there are any of your cabinet members or leaders that require asylum, St. George will welcome them into open arms.

This is going to be a long process of constant fighting, of sacrifice, but we hope to be a good ally in the process of growth in Qaidi, to establish a future where no one needs to be afraid of being attacked at random, to lose a son or daughter to war, this is a hope that we hope you share with us. And with that, St. George Forces are ready and able to assist you in any way that we possibly can.

Victoresian Destroyer
Qaidi Operational Region

The control center of the Destroyer Erpril X was a hive of activity. The attack by advanced fighters in this part of the world had taken the Victoresians by total surprise. Officers rushed around the command center and watched the fighters soon around on cameras, radars, and other sensors. The fighters were extremely fast, possibly on par with the Victoresian Z-12. The SAM missile systems of the destroyer lit up as they began to target the enemy airplanes circling around Derna. The planes seemed to be quite advanced, and the targeting wasn’t as accurate as usual. As the targeting locked on, an officer flicked a switch on the dashboard, firing a pair of SAMs out of vertical launchers towards the enemy aircraft. The missiles, like burning arrows, rushed towards the enemy planes. As they got closer one of the missiles veered off course and exploded. The other missile exploded near the airplane’s wing and it flipped out of view behind a series of buildings. “Dammit” shouted the missile officer. Another volley of missiles flew towards the enemy fighters still flying around the city of Derna.

“It looks like the situation has been complicated. With the unusual enemy aerial presence our military advance would be much slowed. We must move with haste lest enemy forces make it here before can take control of the airport. It is now clear that the number of enemy troops in Derna is completely insignificant. I think we should immediately redirect all available soldiers towards the airport. The situation may well come down to hours. We absolutely must land our heavy equipment from Vitua immediately.” said Admiral Priercho. Most of the other commanders nodded in agreement. “We should call back to Vitua as soon as possible to get the aircraft in the air, it should take them about 5 hours to get here, that gives us about 4 hours to take the airport. Signal to the commanders on the ground, bring all soldiers towards the airport, we must take it without significant damage to the airstrip, it is but 17 miles away”

A column of tanks and armored vehicles rushed towards the airport. They would be vulnerable to the enemy air attack from the mysterious enemy aircraft though the destroyers equipped with SAMs in the gulf provided some good amount of defense. The soldiers already jostled by the early morning amphibious landing and were beginning to get exhausted after several hours of fighting.

Tens of thousands of soldiers clustered in front of the giant transport aircraft sitting on the runway of the Vitua Airbase. They constituted the remainder of the 11th Ijika Division. While they were hypothetically special penetration troops for fighting in difficult terrain or sweeping behind enemy lines, in reality they were nothing more than marines or in most cases normal soldiers. Alongside these soldiers were the heavy equipment of the Victoresian army. More than eighty tanks sat on the airstrips slowly being winched into the transport planes. Acompanying this were

To Mr. Thomas Boyd, Foreign Affairs Minister
From Rayiyas Al-Sultan Ibrahim Jamal al-Syed Mohammad Syafiq, Rayitas Al-Sultan; Speaker of the Sultan - Provisional: The Regent Sultan's Communications Office

Re: Support

Assalam Alaikum,

Mr. Thomas Boyd, it is a pleasure that your country has offered to give us support. The Remnant of the Sultanate will accept it. His Regent Sultan Malik Ismail al-Qadir, the son of the missing Muhammad Ismail Hamood al-Qadir has accepted your offer. Under the H.R.S. - His Regent y -Sultan - many reforms have been made to change the Remnant from its former semi-absolute-monarch - where although there was a President and an Islamic Congress and a Nobles Council along with many other institutions, the Sultan still had absolute power and could stop anything any of the institutions tried to do - to a constitutional monarchy, where the new Provisional Islamic Congress can override any action the Sultan does as long as it has a 75% vote. However, none of this has come into play yet as the Remnant is still in a state of emergency. So: the Sultan still has absolute power, however, he is assisted by a 10-man-council of military, civic, and other advisors.

Your forces should land in Aswan, the Provisional and Operational capital and in Al-Habanah the Ceremonial capital. Previously, Al-Habanah had been both. But; since the division of Al-Habanah, there would be a massive threat if we were to put the capital in Al-Habanah, so, it is just the ceremonial capital, for now.

Thank you and May Allah Bless You, Rajulajayid Min Algharb (Good Men of the West - in Qaidi Arabic Dialect).

Derna, Qaidi
01/01/2018, 07:00

When the missiles were launched, the planes were falling back, a few of them were hit and were destroyed, but most were able to escape. They retreated to an unknown place. AMA-AHH-1990 wasn't as lucky, though. Although he was able to land safely, he was soon almost captured by a small remnant of PSF guards trying their best to hold out against the Victoresians. Luckily, a young woman discovered him.

"Allah, what are you doing here?" She asked in confusion, she knew this was one of the pilots, but, she did not know what to do with him.

"Please, madam, take me in," begged the pilot. The young woman, about 23-years-old, had hazel eyes and a celestial nose. She had a heart-shaped lip. Her hair was covered by the hijab she wore. Her skin was relatively semi-caucasian; she looked like a woman of mixed origin. AMA-AHH-1990 looked to be attracted to her, but, he was more focused on his bleeding thigh than on her face.

"Please... madam," he said, as he shed a tear, for the blood was coming out faster now. "Fine, Fine, alsyed [sir]" "Thank you." She carried the pilot in and got him a bandage that she wrapped around his leg. She quickly went out and mopped the blood on the road. When she came back, she continued to care for the pilot; and got him a drink of water. "So," the woman said... "What's your name?"

"AMA-AHH-1990"

"Right, I'll call you... Amah."

"No, that's what my superiors refer to me as," Amar said, a little bit annoyed. He wasn't allowed to say his real name, for obvious reasons. Where he worked, there was a strict code, do not let anyone - except your superiors - know anything. However, he was still thankful for the woman taking him in.

"Alright... Amah," the woman said, winking. As the woman walked off, Amar said: "Uhh... Hey! What's your name?"

The woman paused, she giggled: "ALE-YAH-1990." Before walking off.

Right, Aleyah

Meanwhile, on the road to Derna Airport, the Victoresian convoy was rushing to the airport [as Victores' post says]. They had SAMS. As they moved, a few civilians blocked the way. Some sat down, while other stood up. As they blocked the way, a crowd gathered and started throwing rocks. Soon, a rocket was fired at the tanks, soon, many more were fired, along with Kalashnikovs firing at the Victoresians.

As the Paleocacherian Armored column moved to within fifteen kilometers of the western outskirts of Derna, they began encountering refugees.

The lead Stryker in the convoy almost began firing on a group driving a technical, wildly waving their AKs. The company captain radioed the command vehicle.

"Charlie Three to Alpha Seven. We have encountered a small group of armed subjects. They are driving a green pickup truck. Fitted with a fifty cal. They are flying a Qaidian flag. Orders?"

"That'll be the local Qaidian militia commander Ahmad al-Khalid. See that he gets sent back to headquarters. ROE is the same, do not fire until fired upon. Keep cautious. They may have snipers and RPGs in buildings. Our drones haven't spotted any ambushes, but when you enter Derna make sure you get ready to deploy at a moment's notice."

The general at the rear of the column awaited Ahmad al-Khalid's arrival.

Meanwhile a force of seventy helicopters passed onto the coast and began approaching landing sites in the eastern suburbs of the city. Saab Sea Otter and F/A-18 fighter jets flew back and forth over the coast scouting for enemy aircraft and targets with the help of the AWACs.

The green pickup truck went to the Paleocacherians, "Hey! We're friendly!" Ahmad shouted in Arabic.

Al-Habanah before the Sultan's Autumn

Al-Habanah, Qaidi
01/01/2018, 07:10

The city of Al-Habanah would never be the same: Its former glory... lost; its former prestige... lost; its former stability... lost. The recent events of the Japanese intrusion, American intervention, the Allanean Ambassador's near-fatal injury, and the bombing of the coast by the Raven Corporation constituted a great blow to Al-Habanah. Recent events had also made the division of Al-Habanah by and to the separate factions and parties. The newly formed Provisional Government of Qaidi - Headed by Provisional Premier Benyamin of the United Democratic Coalition - and the Qaidi People's Socialist Republic - Headed by President Mahmoud of the Qaidi People's Socialist Republic Party; due to having the same name, the QPSR (Nation) is more commonly known as the Provisional People's Government.

The rain from the night before was gone, it was sunny. However, the roads and sidewalks still had puddles and were still drying. Al-Habanah was still packed. Market stalls were open, men were going to the mosques, and people headed for their jobs; many of them having to cross checkpoints.

In a small house, which looked abandoned -as many houses were after the Sultan's Autumn - a radio crackled. "Salam, Agent Botros, how are you? How was the mission to assassinate the targets?"

There was a silence that deafened the room. Soon, there was another crackle.

"Agent Botros? Agent Botros?"

Soon, the sound of a toilet flushing and fast footsteps were heard. "Sorry, Commander. Had to go for a wee shite. What was the question?"

"Wee?" The man said, sounding confused.

"Little." Botros said. The man seemed to give out a small: "Ohh..." that was very light in tone. The radio crackled up again:

"What was the result of the mission, James?" The man said. James Botros, after a second, spouted out: "A success. Lord be praised." A sigh of relief was heard on the other side. "James, you do know... that if the PGQ caught you, you'd be flogged, maybe even executed."

"Yes, such is the price for joining the Christian Democratic Militia."

"That officer you killed was a Shariah Coalition informant. The PGQ just didn't know. Those of the false shepered are lurking everywhere in the shadows, that is why you must stick in the light of the Messiah, Yesus."

"I know, sir." James Botros responded. "Your next mission is to get to the Allanean ambassador. Kill her."

"What? But..."

"She is an unholy one of the Un-Christian Allanea, who has been - like the rest of the Allanean sheep - corrupted by the evilness of Syaitan. You must kill her, for Yesus."

"But..."

"No buts! Do you understand, Agent Botros? Your surname is Abd al-Musayh... Slave of the Messiah! You were born for this... Do you understand?" The man shouted, the radio was crackling even louder than before. "Yes... Sir." Botros said.

"Good, but first, gather intel from her. We got an informant who will get her into here. Good luck. Christ be with you."

"Christ be with you too, sir."

El-Rahman awoke quickly. What's the time? It was 5 in the morning. El-Rahman got up and slowly walked towards the curtains of his luxury room. The Hotel Al-Habanah is a great place to stay. He pulled the curtains back to see the formerly wonderful view of the dock, which had now been ruined. Still dark, he thought. He got dressed in black trousers and a white shirt. He also put on a white Panama hat. He said a prayer, then, he walked off, unlocked his dark brown wooden hotel door with a golden key imprinted with: The Hotel Al-Habanah, and locked the door. He walked into the lift and pressed the button to go to the lobby. The lift went down. Music played. The doors soon opened and he walked out. A hotel clerk was working when he saw el-Rahman.

"Good morning, Sayidi Almuhtarm. Kabtin Alshurta is here to see you."

el-Rahman's face expressed surprise. "Really? He came just now?"

"No, sir, he's been here for an hour."

El-Rahman looked around. Sure enough, the captain was there. "Good morning, captain. Sorry I could not wake up earlier."

"It's okay, Dr. el-Rahman. I have some dire and urgent news for you to here."

Port Qadir

Drip, Drip, Drip... It started to rain. Hundreds of thousands of raindrops... falling down over Al-Habanah. One of the raindrops - a peculiar one - fell on the ground; a part of it started to slide down, getting washed into the drains. The other part of the raindrop slid on another path, falling into another, smaller drain, of which over there was a sign in Arabic which said: "Welcome to Port Qadir".

Port Qadir was named after the father of Sultan Ismail, the last sultan. It used to be called 'Port Al-Habanah' until, on December 31st, 1999, it was changed to Port Qadir by the newly appointed Sultan Ismail. He did this on his first day as Sultan; after his father abdicated due to health problems. Sultan Qadir would die in 2003, a wealthy and respected man.

The port now had now been captured by Japanese forces. Civilians were removed from the premise, but that didn't stop the Al-Habanah Islamic Brigade, along with other independent Islamist forces, the Al-Habanah Martyrs' Brigade, and the Al-Habanah Royal Mosque Shariah Brigade prepared to attack the port, to liberate it. Ex-Hamalsherai, (In the Qaidi Arabic dialect, this meant "Protector of Sharia", this is used because the RIMP aren't really policemen nor soldiers, they're a mix.) from the now weakened Royal Islamic Morality Police, also known as the Moral Police, joined. The RIMP were regulated to the Sultanate Remnant controlled area... the North-Centre district.

Ali al-Khalil was the leader of this group, he came from an Ultra-Islamist background, and hated 'gentiles' and 'kafirs' more than anything. Known for killing his enemies brutally, he was personally taught by Ahmed al-Riza, one of the most brutal of RIMP Seargents. The second in command was Rafeeq al-Saleem, who had been reportedly killed by the 1st Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in their invasion of Al-Habanah. "Get ready to kill the infidels of the far east, for they were the ones to sacked Baghdad and they were the ones who invaded the land of Allah. Tonight... We get our revenge which Allah has granted us!" al-Khalil said.

They moved out...

As they moved into the port, they saw to Japanese guards, chatting. The Japanese guards were not looking in their direction. "Rafeeq, you take the one on the left and I will take the one on the right," Ali said as Rafeeq nodded. As they crouched and moved up, the rain covered the sound they were making was covered by the rain.

Soon, they attacked the guards. Ali drove a dagger into the right guard's neck, making him squirt out blood. "Kafirs." Ali then started to stab the guard in his chest. Each stab made more blood gush out. Then, while the guard was still alive, he slit his lower stomach, making his intestines fall out, hanging. He then stabbed the guard in the eye. His dagger penetrated the retina and plunged into the soggy mess. The right guard tried to cover his left eye to prevent it from being stabbed, but, Ali plunged the dagger through the guard's palm and the guard's vision turned to black. With this, the guard died, all of this had happened in 15 seconds. Meanwhile, at the start of the attack, Rafeeq had plunged the dagger he had into the left guard throat, piercing through the skin and coming out on the other side, giving the guard a quick death.

After this, they moved on. Slowly by slowly, they killed 13 more guards until they finally got to the center of the port, there, they planted bombs all over the place, and, after they escaped, detonated the bombs. After that, more men attacked. The port would be reclaimed.

On the seas outside of Al-Habanah, Qaidi
On the IJN Yamato
01/01/2018, 10:10.

General Ayaka had awoken from her sleep, the sounds of explosions in the distance were much... Closer than she had previously heard, gunfire was still going on, rising from her bed in her quarters she got dressed. Donning her black uniform, cap, cape and sword she was just about to leave when there was a knock at her door. "Enter!" She said while she turned to the door, with it opening to show Fleet Admiral Rei Nishimura standing on the otherside, she bowed her head and returned upright immediately afterwards. "General. It appears our Operational on Qaidi has been attacked, may I ask if bombardment with the Type-3s are allowed?" Rei said, a smile donning on her face, it was no surprise, the Navy, just as the Army had it's own officers with their own... Ways of achieving thrills. "Yes. Full bombardment. ...Only equipment there anyway is the older Type 74s and 73 light trucks, we've still yet to offload the more valuable equipment."

Ayaka said as she walked past Admiral Nishimura of whom followed her out on deck to see the guns already pointed in the direction of the port. "Of course, of course." Admiral Nishimura said before walking over to a built in phone embedded in the steel superstructure of the ship. "All guns are to open fire, Type-3 shells authorised.... I repeat. All guns are to open fire." Rei said before hanging up the phone and the gun began ringing out, firing on the port once more as the Type-3 shells rained shrapnel down on anything and everything, causing more buildings to fall apart and crumble under the firepower of the Yamato, the barrage continued for about an hour before ceasing and landing operations began to take part once again to replace lost troops and equipment. Certainly this.. This was how the Imperial Japanese military operated. Based on the old British Military principle of "if they fire two, send back double". Of course now though... The area would be cleared around the port and the homes decimated while the port would be reinforced with more men and materials to shore up defensive capabilities.

...An hour after the IJA reestablished itself in the port, Ayaka went shoreside once again to estimate damage and possible need of allocation of resources from the Home Islands when she noticed... A number of men of which apparently attacked the port were alive, shellshocked.. But alive, guarded by a large group of IJA troops. And so an idea came to mind... An old habit of hers' more like it... Walking over to the men guarding the prisoners she began to look over them, most of them were just boys.. Too many boys. Not true soldiers like her or her men. "What a pity I must say.." Ayaka said to herself while she looked over the prisoners and found the NCO of the men guarding them, she directed him to corral the prisoners into a shipping container that still stood, after doing so, she ordered a machine gun be set up at the doors of the container and for it to be watched. She had no time nor wish to watch over prisoners... But they had their uses to her.

The insurgents had retreated into QPSR territory. Soon, they attacked the port again. They pushed in as a firefight would ensue. Men would fight and die on both sides. The prisoners would uprise and try to overwhelm the guards while insurgents cleverly attacked on all sides. There were even some insurgents who came by boat. PSF security forces quickly moved into the port. PPP forces along with the QPRA also moved in from the south-west. They made roadblocks, completely cutting off the port from any land. Instead, the only way to get in and out was by sea. QPAF naval forces swept in to start the sea blockade. It was slow, but, it would be completed.

A statement was put out ordering both the Japanese and the Insurgents to surrender. Otherwise, troops would move in. The Japanese occupation and bombardment of the port had not only killed civilians but - more importantly to both the QPSR and the PGQ - damaged Qaidi's recovering trade. Hamalsherai forces of the new reformed RIMP also arrived to negotiate with the ex-Hamalsherai who had joined the insurgents. Qaidi was falling apart, the Japanese on one side and the Victoresians on the other. The Qaidi wanted to get rid of one. So, the Qaidi would get the Japanese out of Qaidi land, no matter the troubles, no matter the cost!

Al-Habanah port, Qaidi

After the apparent "calm before the storm was over", and round two began between Imperial Japanese Army/Imperial Royal Guard and the insurgents, the firefight lasted for several hours before finally the enemy once again retreated, in full view of IJA forces the insurgents retreated to the apparent "safety" of QPSR territory, in the mild confusion of the situation, 20 Imperial Japanese Army members lost their lives after the prisoners began to rise against their captors... Though it didn't last long upon the General's implementation of an order she would give every time an enemy partisan force in North America attacked IJA forces and was captured. Extermination. Whole groups of prisoners were lined up and gunned down in the port. The General would make it clear she'd not take such insolence against herself or her men. Though as the situation became more and more apparent Japanese troops remained on guard, weapons loaded and at the ready while his brief moment of rest had come.

After General Ayaka has received the statement from the apparent local government she simply relayed it back to the fleet in which relayed it back to the Imperial War Ministry, of which relayed it directly to the Shogun. ...Meiya was... Less then pleased towards it. As attached was a report from the General herself which claims that the insurgents fled into QPSR territory. Once again the QPSR had intended on attempting to interfere with Japanese forces in the region. Of course. To Meiya, Communists were like petulant children. If one gives them an inch of leeway they overexert themselves and consider themselves to be untouchable. Though the fact the PGQ and QPAF was getting involved, and as she saw, getting involved on the side of the communists? What spineless act was this.

The Imperial War Ministry, Kyoto, Mainland Japan, The Empire of Japanese Pacific States.

Meiya held two pieces of paper in her hands. One apparently a statement from the local provisional government of Qaidi, demanding the surrender of Imperial Japanese Forces to the QPAF, and in the other hand... Was also a detailed report of which stated the insurgents had attacked and retreated to QPSR territory, then attacked again and retreated once more. In addition to this QPSR forces in addition to multiple other forces, including those of the QPAF were now blockading the port. The report was from General Ayaka, of whom had sent the statement back to the Shogun. Meiya was of course furious. Now those she intended to help wipe their country of Communists, Fascists, Religious extremists, and last remnants of the Sultanate were siding with those of which attacked. Perhaps a small political show of force and a deal would do the trick to reign them in.

Good Morning, it has come to my attention that there is an issue in the Al-Habanah port in which Imperial Japanese forces have come under attack multiple times by insurgents likely from the Communists in your country. This is not the only time such an attack has happened, a day beforehand my own personal representative, Admiral Ito Genda of the Imperial Japanese Navy was critically wounded in a stand off turned firefight(on the part of the QPSR no less) against members of my own Imperial Royal Guard. And now I am also reliably informed, troops of the QPAF are now taking part in a joint blockade of the port WITH the communists in question. Might I ask what is the overall reasoning for these men to be set against my forces when the QPSR as well as apparent ex-"Hamalsherai" are responsible for these attacks while my own men are being threatened for defending themselves? As I had warned the apparent figurehead of the communist faction in Qaidi, any attack against Japanese forces after the first engagement would be met with zero tolerance and brutal response. It is clear to I that if the communists had intended to seek peace with us they would've not seen such an action as appropriate, therefore I also issue this warning now to the Provisional Government in which I view the UDC as the soul legal power in. Any attack or attempt to disrupt Japanese forces in their operations against the Communists, Fascists, Religious Extremists and the sultanate's remnant forces will not be tolerated and will be met with brutal response. Period. As a show of "Good will" though it has yet to have been earned. My forces will assist yours in pushing out the Victoresians. In exchange I request my forces remain unmolested by the Provisional Government while we also put the QPSR in it's place.
Signed. The Shogun of The Empire of Japanese Pacific States, Head of State, Government, and Military, Her Imperial Majesty, Shogun Mitsurugi Meiya

Official Response from the PGQ:

The blockade will end as long as you assist in the fight against the Victoresians. We will start talks with the QPSR to send these men on a joint-trial between the PGQ, the QPSR, and the Japanese. RIMP Hamalsherai are currently negotiating with the ex-Hamalsherai to return to Sultanate Remnant-controlled territory.

For the port, we propose that it be returned to the PGQ and the QPSR, we will divide it up into two parts, east, and west. The borderline connecting the two areas will become a part of the Joint-Administered Territory (JAT). Japanese soldiers will be allowed to stay in the PGQ-controlled territory of the port while only being allowed into the JAT only when all sides allow it. There will be Sultanate Remnant Hamalsherai escorting Remnant inspectors. Sharia Coalition 'Freedom Fighters of Allah' - Muqatilu Alhuriyat min Allah, known more commonly as Muqahumillah, will also be allowed into small areas of the port. The port will be opened to all traders. This is our proposal, if you Japanese wish anything, tell us. We are: as the Qaidi say, Men of Ears.

The Free Kingdom observes the continued violence in Qaidi with great displeasure. We are especially displeased with the Victoresians, and their continued insistence on raw aggression against the people of Qaidi. We wish to inform all parties to the conflict of the following facts:

1. The Free Kingdom is preparing to deploy two aircraft carrier battlegroups into the Mediterranean, which are now departing harbor.
2. The Free Kingdom is willing to work with Qaidi and the factions designated by them, to continue investigating the attempt on our ambassador, and to provide humanitarian and economic aid to the people of Qaidi. As of the present, we suspect that some manner of radical Islamist organization has orchestrated that, and other attacks as ‘false flags’.

3.The Free Kingdom is willing to work with various parties to end the Victoresian aggression, either by negotiation or by force if needed.

To the Honourable Recipients of this Letter:

Sir, it has come to the Provisional Government's notice that you are planning to stop Victoresian aggression in the Qaidi theater. We applaud you for this action. Provisional troops are mobilizing to - if the need be - move in and secure areas designated by the PGQ and the FKA. We ask you to also consider action against the Japanese, who have occupied the Al-Habanah port. We are currently negotiating with the Japanese, but if you were to level sanctions along with moving troops to blockade the Japanese fleet, our the negotiating efforts would be much more successful. To-morrow, QPAF forces will begin to move in troops slowly into the port. We hope you will consider our request.

We are currently changing the name of the lower parliament from the Qaidi Provisional Parliament of the Commoners to the Congress of the Electorates. The former name was used as a temporary name to quickly distinguish the PGQ lower parliament from the Sultanate's Parliament of Commoners. The same is with the Upper Parliament. We are changing it from the Qaidi Provisional Parliament of Right Honourable Noble, Islamic Scholars, Imams, Lords, and those of whom are holy and appointed by Allah to The Congress of Approval. We apologize for the confusion.

St. George Forces, Aswan Airfield, Qaidi Sultanate Remnants

It had been a long flight in the Hercules, from St. George Forces Base Alert, to Aswan Airfield, luckily for the men of the Blackwatch of Kingston, the flight had been spared of any major turbulence, but for Brigadier-General Louis Winston, it was a flight that was very hard to sleep on. It had been his first tour of duty as a brigadier-general, and it was his job to ensure that operation "Desert Fox" could be considered somewhat of a success, he peered down again at the booklet that the foreign office had prepared, it was primarily about the culture and history of Qaidi. It had been the twelfth time that he had read it, yawning and feeling drained, he shut his eyes for a moment.

Brig-General Winston woke with a shock as one of his officers woke him up and whispered, "Sir, we are ready to touch down" Winston waved him away, and took a sip of water as he felt the giant Hercules aircraft begin to touch down, buckled in he held his seat buckle as the pilot gave orders for the soldiers to hold tight and the landing was commencing now. And with that, the first troops had landed in Qaidi. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Aswan, Qaidi, please ensure that you take your gear and wait outside for a briefing," Winston ordered as he prepared what he was going to say.

The Hercules managed to empty rather quickly, as every soldier was eager for their first major deployment for many of them. The 192 soldiers of the Blackwatch stood at attention for Brigadier-General Winston, as he stood in front of them, he spoke:

"Soldiers of St. George we don't come to Qaidi as conquerors, but as their allies. Our mission here is simple: to support the Sultan, to ensure that Qaidi will be able to resume to a state of normalcy after the conflict, and finally to provide humanitarian aid during the conflict. With that in mind, this operation is a hearts and mind operation, to work with the Qaidi people we must remember to be respectful and to treat them as our brother in arms. We will be waiting until the Qaidis send someone to get us, so don't get comfortable."

Qaidi Royal Guards: Equipped with Qaidi-made 'Rifles fit for the Sultan' or Banadiquslililsultan [Known as the BQLS-65] in the Qaidi dialect, they are fit for long range and medium range combat. For close range combat, they use a Luger pistol. If they need to, a silver bayonet. Not to mention the Qaidi Royal Guards also carry golden swords carved with the sign: 'Loyalty to the Sultan, for he is appointed by Allah.' which they can use to stab an enemy.

Aswan National Airfield

The soldiers of the St. George Territory were greeted by a man in a keffiyeh with a white tuxedo who was accompanied by three Royal Guards. His keffiyeh was neatly tucked into his tuxedo. He wore a gold watch. His guards accompanying were armed with strapped BQLS-62s with silver bayonets which were hanging on their backs. In their belts, there were Luger pistols. They were carrying their famous Golden Swords. This was a true luxury.

On the left of the man in the white tuxedo and the Royal Guards were a company of Qaidi soldiers. They wore MK-7 helmets with desert camouflage and desert camouflaged uniforms. They had M16 Rifles. There were a few officers with AR-57s. All of the soldiers were saluting the soldiers of the St. George Territory.

To the right of the man in the white tuxedo were Hamalsherai from the RIMP. They were armed with BH-183s, a modified version of the Chinese Type 81. The RIMP Hamalsherai wore an all-black uniform. They had MK-7 helmets. They had masks which covered their whole face except their eyes.

The man in the white tuxedo walked up to the foreign soldiers. "Good morning, I am the Regent Sultan of Qaidi, Malik Ismail al-Qadir. It is an honour to see you. There is much work to be done. But, first, Rajulajayid Min Algharb, we must head to the operational planning room at the capitol building. You should decide where to put your men. We must act quickly, Qaidi is falling apart. A car will arrive soon. In fact, it should be here now."

As Malik said this, a black limo rolled up to them. It was armoured. A man walked out from the front passenger seat and opened the door for both of them to get into the back.

Encrypted Message to the Government of Qaidi

[Copy:] The Office of the Imperial and Royal Minister for Foreign Affairs

The Free Kingdom cannot help but note that your government put itself in a fairly disadvantageous position diplomatically by attacking Japanese troops in your country after first allowing them in, over what was at best a minor violation. The result of this was reasonably war, against people known world-wide for their bravery, ferocity, and ruthlessness. We believe that it would be reasonable of you to concede their wartime demands, which are fairly modest, and probably comparable to what the Free Kingdom would, in likewise situation, demand. We will, on the other hand, attempt to negotiate with their government and see what we can do for you.

Moreover, it would be probably best if those of your citizens who do not wish to live under Japanese rule left the city, and you could probably organize an evacuation.

*

To: The Shogun of The Empire of Japanese Pacific States, Head of State, Government, and Military, Her Imperial Majesty, Shogun Mitsurugi Meiya
From: Maverick Monningham, Free Kingdom Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Your Majesty!

The Free Kingdom observes you are having trouble with the Qaidi people, which is unsurprising given the circumstances. We believe that, broadly speaking, your cause is just. We, however, recommend the following actions should be best:

1. It would be best in our view if the Free Kingdom were allowed to deploy a peacekeeper force that would engage the guerrillas currently raiding your positions.

2. In our view, it would be best if as many Qaidi citizens as possible would be allowed, and even encouraged, to leave the city. They would therefore avoid the danger of violence, the dishonor of living under foreign rule, and you would avoid the need to figure out which of them are rebel supporters… and, frankly, providing infrastructure for them.

3. We are willing to pay a modest sum for you to limit your territorial possessions in Qaidi - perhaps buy back all or part of the city (really mostly ruins now). This will of course be paid in gold or silver, and will be transferred after the completion of negotiations.

The Imperial and Royal Minister for Foreign Affairs presents her compliments to Your Highness, Seii Taishōgun of the Great Empire of Japan, and has the honour to to refer to the note received from the Free Kingdom of Allanea in relation to the events transpiring with your forces in the city of Al-Habana. In general, the Imperial and Royal Monarchy agrees with the suggestions proposed by the Free Kingdom of Allanea, and would like to take this opportunity to lament the fact that the situation has escalated into conflict wholly unnecessarily.
Her Serene Highness the Imperial and Royal Minister for Foreign Affairs wishes to assure the Great Empire of Japan that the Imperial and Royal Monarchy is wholly behind Your government and the Allaneans in bringing this wholly needless and meaningless conflict to a swift conclusion.

The Imperial and Royal Ministry for Foreign Affairs wishes to register its complete bewilderment at the one-hundred and eighty degree turn Your Honorable Government has made in the past month regarding the Japanese peacekeepers invited on Your very own behalf. The unwarranted acts of war that has been occurring under your nose has not subsided but instead escalated. And now you want us to declare war on the Great Empire of Japan for the Glory of Your nation by joining your illegitimate blockade? Ladies and Gentlemen of the Qaidi Provisional Office of Domestic and Foreign Affairs, this is sheer insanity. If you wish that our continued cooperation should remain amicable you should endeavour to cease at once needlessly provoking peacekeepers with blatant acts of aggression, peacekeepers that you yourself have invited . The Imperial and Royal Monarchy will agree to discuss the matter once your illegitimate blockade has been removed from the premises, by force of arms if necessary.

RE: The Free Kingdom's Declaration on the Situation in Qaidi

To the Honourable Recipients of this Letter:

We wish to inform all regarding parties on this matter:

Yes, the Provisional Government of Qaidi did invite the Great Empire of Japan into Qaidi for peacekeeping operations. However, we expected them to land in Al-Habanah to discuss with the Provisional Government on which areas to patrol. Instead of doing this, the special forces sent by the Japanese went into Joint-Administered Territory and killed and injured Provisional Security Force and People's Provisional Police forces in the area. When asked to lay down their weapons, they refused. The soldiers of the Q.P.S.R. opted to fire on the Japanese. Instead of following the Q.P.S.R. soldiers, Q.P.A.F. forces moved out of the area.

After this, Japanese forces occupied the Al-Habanah Port which was recovering from the Sultan's Autumn and after an attack by Islamic Extremists, bombed the area, which housed civilians. Luckily, no civilians died in the attacked.

The Q.P.S.R. does not even know we asked you to come to Qaidi to operate in the theater. They still regard this as an act of aggression. We ask of Japanese forces to consider the proposal we made to them:

But, we will concede to the Japanese demands of: Any attack or attempt to disrupt Japanese forces in their operations against the Communists, Fascists, Religious Extremists and the sultanate's remnant forces will not be tolerated and will be met with brutal response. Period. As a show of "Goodwill" though it has yet to have been earned. My forces will assist yours in pushing out the Victoresians. In exchange, I request my forces remain unmolested by the Provisional Government while we also put the QPSR in its place.

As a response to the Allaneans, the Japanese will not get Al-Habanah. It is a sacred city, which has been damaged enough by Coalition bombs during the end days of the Sultan's Autumn. Especially the desecration and bombing of the Sultan's Palace which destroyed centuries of art! When the Japanese entered Nanjing, they raped the women and then killed them. They took 'comfort women' from the Koreans, Burmese, Malayan, and Singaporean girls and raped them. If this were to happen in Qaidi lands, other factions, especially Islamic Extremist factions, would not be happy.

Even if the PGQ did pull out of Al-Habanah, Japanese forces would need to get the QPSR (People's Coalition), Sharia Coalition, National Alliance, Qaidi Sultanate Remnant, and the Democratic Islamic Coalition out of the city, not to mention calming civilian riots. And what about the site of the Korolenko Incident? Qaidi investigators have found no links to the QPSR.

Finally, to the Austrians of the Ihre Kaiserliche und Königlich Apostolische Majestät, Maria Melanie I.; Von Gottes Gnaden, heiliger römischer Kaiserin, zu allen Zeiten Mehrer des Reiches, Kaiserin von Österreich, Apostolicher Königin von Ungarn, Königin von Böhmen; Königin von Lombardei und Venedig; von Dalmatien, Kroatien, Slawonien, Galizien, Lodomerien und Illyrien; Königin von Jerusalem; Erzherzogin von Österreich; Großherzogin von Toskana und Krakau; Herzogin von Lothringen, von Salzburg, Steyer, Kärnten, Krain und der Bukowina; Großfürstin von Siebenbürgen, Markgräfin von Mähren; Herzogin von Ober- und Niederschlesien, von Modena, Parma, Piacenza und Guastalla, von Auschwitz und Zator, von Teschen, Friaul, Ragusa und Zara; Gefürsteter Gräfin von Habsburg und Tirol, von Kyburg, Görz und Gradisca; Fürstin von Trient und Brixen; Markgräfin von Ober- und Niederlausitz und in Istrien; Gräfin von Hohenems, Feldkirch, Bregenz, Sonnenberg; Herrin von Triest, von Cattaro und auf der Windischen Mark; Großwojwodin der Wojwodschaft Serbien, we recomend not using force. The QPSR has the Tripoli Airport surrounded. If they wanted, they could take it over, round up the Austrians, torture them and leave their mangled bodies in the streets. President Mahmoud is extremely unpredictable.

Also, there is a new problem. Our spies suggest that a new power is aiding the Sultanate Remnant. The St. George Territory. Troops have already landed in Aswan.

Our message is very clear:

Should members of the QPSR indeed ‘round up the Austrians, torture them, and leave their mangled bodies in the streets’, the Free Kingdom will physically obliterate the QPSR and all its forces.

We grow tired of your vacillating and your clothed threats of war. The Entity of Qaidi has exactly 24 hours from the receiving of this ultimatum to affirm their full and unconditional intentions to abandon all ongoing acts of war (such as the Al-Habana blockade) against the Free Kingdom of Allanea, the Great Empire of Japan or the Imperial and Royal Monarchy. Or they will be removed for you by the combined air, land and naval powers of the European Defence Association.

The Imperial and Royal Monarchy hereby declares itself in an open state of war with the communist barbarians holding Tripoli, and will prosecute this war to the fullest ability of our air, land and naval forces until the communist threat in Qaidi has been completely and utterly obliterated.

Your Highness

While I as well as other in the military agree that the port of which has become centre to the situation of which we find ourselves in, I do agree that half the port should be free to allow the Qaidi economy to continue, however I do not agree with the proposal of a Joint-Administered Territory. It would be preferable, ideally that half of the port be solely occupied and administrated by the Imperial Japanese Military, to preserve future operational security and general security of IJA/IJN/IJRG members stationed in Qaidi. Onto the latter proposals. We do agree civilians should indeed be evacuated from the general area to prevent unnecessary loss of life, as for the proposal of a trial, it is my belief as well as the belief of those in the Imperial Japanese Military that the perpetrators of the crimes in question against the Imperial Japanese Military be brought to Japan, along with judges chosen for the trial. As in Japan there is no doubt to the security of the judges or of the prisoners and if the trial will deliver justice to the deceased and their families, in addition I propose the site of the Korolenko be turned over to the Kempetai and Military Police of Allanea. Lastly. We have taken note of troops deployed by St. George Territory. The Imperial Military High Command is preprating to deploy an addition five thousand troops and extra equipment to Qaidi in addition to one battlegroup of the IJN.

Good Morning, after much debate with the consideration of the situation in Qaidi, I do agree that it would be best to evacuate civilians from the immediate area of the port to avoid unnecessary loss of life. However we do disagree with Allanean peacekeepers being thrown into the fry to protect Japanese forces, I myself am confidant that Japanese forces can handle whatever situation may arise, though on the subject of limiting our control over territories in Qaidi, we do agree that for the Qaidi economy to function the port will be vital to it. I do agree to give up half the port, though with Qaidi's offer of a sort of Joint-Administered Territory we hope will be understandably refused as proven time and time before, the Qaidi at this time do not have our confidence to assure Japanese forces security in Qaidi. It would be preferable if the Allanean government would back us on our own offer of guaranteeing a free half of the port while the latter will be solely occupied by Japanese forces to ensure Operation security of our forces in Qaidi, and general security of members of the Imperial Japanese Military. And lastly. While the Qaidi have offered a joint trial of the offenders of which would be headed by the PGQ, the QPSR, and the Japanese. We do agree to this, but we would only be comfortable with the trial's ability to bring justice to those of whom were wronged and their families if it were held in Japan. Our belief is that if such a trial were to be held in Qaidi there would be no guarantee that such prisoners would even arrive without any sort of "complications" such as the possibility of such prisoners being freed by those who share their ideals. Therefore we also propose after the criminals responsible have been taken into custody, they be held by the Imperial Japanese Navy in the brig of one of their ships on scene until they can be transferred to Japan and judges can be secured for the trial. We would also suggest that the scene of the Korolenko incident be jointly overseen by the Kempetai and Allanea. We would hope this is a proposal agreed to by the Allanean government. Thank you.

Good morning, and please extend my thanks to your government, while the situation at is it with Qaidi has become somewhat difficult I will continue to try to work with Qaidi's government in this matter, however I'd hope it'd be understandable that attacks on one's military personnel purposely sent to act as peacekeepers and allies to the one government of which I see as solely legal and able to provide future stability for the Qaidi, will not be tolerated. As thus far every act on the part of General Ayaka, and currently recovering Admiral Ito Genda have been mostly in self defense, however the continuation of hostilities by the QPSR we cannot allow any further room for the communists in Qaidi to potentially strike at us again, and their giving of shelter to apparent ex-"Hamalsherai" responsible for the attack. We cannot allow the next attack to go without a proper response.
