Tripoli, Qaidi

After previous engagements with the QPRA, the Imperial Japanese Army had learned valuable lessons and would implement them as part of training to other IJA forces in the Empire and abroad. The use of civilians both as weapons as as supply carriers was quickly caught on, and forced civilians when captured to submit to a search, mostly being successful. ....Afterwards they were quickly disposed of and the IJA moved on. However when coming across the issue of civilians wearing IEDs, and laying in the streets pretending to be dead. The IJA was rather sick of this dishonourable practice getting troops killed so they started shooting dead bodies in the streets from a distance as they were seen, often with heavy machine guns to detonate explosives should they be on the bodies. Japan wouldn't have any nonsensical talk of the geneva conventions or other such "humane" nonsense brought up when dealing with the QPRA. It was already clear to Japanese forces that they had no intention of attempting to uphold such "rules of war", so the IJA wouldn't bother with it either. As for the traps under manholes, the Imperial Army began blowing up the manholes. When dealing with mass quantities of civilians such as "protesters" or possible QPRA members hiding among the populace to ambush IJA forces, the solution was simple. The head vehicle in columns, mostly being tanks had loudspeakers.

The commanders of these vehicles would announce that if the protesters didn't disperse they would be simply gunned down. With a count of five being given before reaching 1, a burst of machine gun fire would be shot either over the protester's heads or at their feet. Causing a quick dispersal. It would become quickly apparent to the QPRA, that using such nonsense against the Japanese was foolish, they weren't an army of the west. Japan hadn't been a signatory to the Geneva Convention, nor the Hague convention. Lieutenant Misae Munkata could only sigh as she had to deal with these people..... Actually willing to give their lives to cowards, not realising they're being played. "It's times like this... I'm glad the Krenorussians and the Mediamans aren't around..." Misae said loudly in her tank, her loader looking over to her. "Yes ma'am. They would certainly have some objections to how we handle such situations." He said before he turned back, looking down the gunsight. "Of course they would! Westerners like the Krenorussians and Mediamans have such a false view of warfare it's hard to believe they've not been invaded and subjugated already. The Allaneans are the only ones with their heads on straight." Misae said before her loader fired a round at a bus blocking the road, of course filled with concrete. "Ugh... I just want to get back to Japan. Let's get this shit over with." Misae's driver said over the radio. "Agreed." Misae replied back.

Tobruk, Qaidi

The Japanese Naval Air Service had taken note of the Allanean's plan and joined them with jet fighters and fighter/bombers, dropping bombs on Derna, in streets, Napalm was dropped and the general area around Tobruk was reduced to rubble from the IJN providing heavy gun support via the IJN's battleships, the Yamato, the Kii, the Kyoto, and the Honshu while IJN marines stormed the port via LCACs and began landing tanks, infantry, APCs, and artillery at the port.

First Carrier Division, Imperial Fusō Navy - Grid Reference Charlie Oscar 1141

Hundreds of miles north of their ordinary operating area for the Mediterranean conflict, the First Carrier Division of the Imperial Fusō Navy was taking on replenishment from their auxiliaries. Biwa Maru, Ogawara-class fast combat support ship had just returned from a visit to Pola to load up a stock of new weapons that would literally "enlighten" the barbarians of the Qaidi People's Revolutionary Army.
Feeding over the four dozen one ton weapons to Akagi took barely an afternoon. Arming took less than an hour. From there on, it was simply a matter of lifting and towing the loaded aircraft of the 11th Naval Fighter Regiment to the catapults. An hour earlier, the preliminary reconnaissance and target designation assets had already lifted off and were already at their assigned flight levels.
And so on a quiet Mediterranean evening, four A5H Talons lifted off into the night pairwise. One hundred miles ahead of Akagi, Her Majesty's Ship Kaiserin und Königin Maria Theresia similarly sent four Firefalcons into the night skies. Two hundred miles ahead of the carriers, at 35,000 feet's altitude, Red Castle, an Hawkeye airborne early warning and command centre started coordinating the whole strike affair that would have... interesting consequences.
Without further ado, an encrypted message was sent from the Hawkeye to the Japanese in Tripoli, the language was... Japanese:
"Japanese forces in Tripoli. Red Castle. We have four Talons, four Firefalcons bearing sixty-four new weapons for the... amusement of the Qaidi Communists. We would like to have priority targets designated in advance, please."

While Red Castle awaited a response, a whole Shōgun's procession of naval strike aircraft, combat air patrol and electronic warfare assets were slowly ambulating their way towards the Libyan coastline.

FROM: President Georgious Akhanteros
Subject: Status of forces in Qaidi

Effective immediately all ASAF (Altosian and Stratisian Armed Forces) Units will begin preparing to withdraw from Qaidi and its surrounding waters and return home. However, we are prepared to leave behind a token force at your request, and we may re-enter the conflict at a later date. But for now, we believe our role in the conflict has come to an end, and that it is time for the seventy-five thousand plus Soldiers, Pilots, and Sailors to return home.

To the Honourable Recipients of this Letter:

Your withdrawal shall be noted. An official of the Provisional Government will arrive along with troops to keep the island under Coalition control. Since the QPAF troops sent to secure the islands will be a small amount due to the war against the QPRA, it would be best for a few squads ASAF troops to be left on the islands as a token force.

Muhammad Abdullah al-Rahman, Senior Member of the Qaidi Provisional Parliament of Right Honourable Noble, Islamic Scholars, Imams, Lords, and those of whom are holy and appointed by Allah;

A n d Premier Benyamin Khalid al-Hamid; Provisional Premier

A public announcement was soon issued about the ASAF's withdrawal. Many speculated that the president of Altos and Stratis was appalled by the behaviour of the Japanese. The media sent men and women to film the withdrawal. QPAF forces dressed in ceremonial uniforms and carried rifles.

Derna

Mohammad Ghazali - sixteen-years-old - huddled in the dirt trenches as Japanese shells landed around him. "Those f*cking bombs are killing us!" one of the communist officers shouted while walking through the trenches. A boy - seventeen-years-old - tried to run into one of the buildings, a shell stopped that, blowing him to pieces, some of his skin landing on Ghazali. "Get out of the f*cking streets and into the buildings!" his officer shouted as Ghazali got his BH-183 and tried to run the short race to the open buildings. A shell hit the area to the left of him, causing him to fall to the right. His face was mangled. As he slowly tried to reach and touch his face with his shaking hands, a body fell on him. It crushed him and pushed him deeper into the ground. As he barely mustered the strength to push the dead body over to the right. Once he had done it, he let out a sigh of relief but shrieked when he saw it was his officer that was dead.

Ghazali slowly got onto his knees as he saw the decimation in the trenches: Dead everywhere. The bombings had come to a pause now. As he got up, an officer emerged from the building and went into the trenches. "Get in while there's a pause. We're laying a trap for the Japanese."

"What trap?" Ghazali said.

"We'll get the Japanese to think the remaining of us retreated. Now get into the building."

"Yessir."

After a while, the QPRA organised the troops into trucks and carefully moved through the boobie-trapped streets without losing men. After they left, they returned at night and set up an ambush. It would be impossible for the Japanese or the Allaneans to know. RPGs and other rockets were prepared. C4, mines, grenades, and other explosives were brought. Civilians in hidden heavy garbage trucks waited to block the roads when the Japanese convoy entered the city. The QPRA planned it to be a slaughter.

OOC: Written with the approval of the Qaidi player.

IC:

Operation Defunder 1

At the Allanean base at Trieste

"Pilots," – the officer began. "The most recent intelligence assessments suggest that, as oppose to our previous expectations, the Qaidi People's Socialist Republic, and its military arm, the Qaidi People's Revolutionary Army, enjoy wide popularity in Western Qaidi, despite the many atrocities committed under the aegis of these groups. The primary source of this popularity, according to the sociology research carried out by the research teams at the OAS, is the extensive and generous sharing of revenues from the expropriated industries – petroleum, gas, and mining, principally – with the population of Western Qaidi. The feeling of social certainty promoted by these payments causes many to support the QPSR, even despite the fact that the organization has carried out numerous killings, including those of children. This, while sounding counterintuitive, is sadly not unknown in totalitarian countries and movements. There's any number of terrifying precedents."

Behind him, a large map of the Southern Mediterranean shore appeared, zoomed in on the areas controlled by the QPRA. "We can see our targets here. These are elements of the QPSR's largest off-shore oil drilling complex. Our principal targets of interest are the two oil rigs here, and here, and this crane vessel here. For the purpose of this mission they'll be dubbed Cornucopia, Self-Serve Tablecloth, and Miracle Whale."

The pilots nodded, the mythology reference not lost on them. "We believe that destruction of these systems will cost QPRA several dozen million dollars per day, excluding the cost of repairs and replacement. Environmental damage will be in the billions of dollars."

Several pilots laughed.

"Will we mine the sea around the rigs?" – someone asked.

"No, sadly. Mostly because we want the area to be recoverable when the war is over."

Laughter rolled through the audience again.

"Pilots. You will receive hardcopies of your mission briefings at your seats." – said the officer. "A strike group of four bombers will be tasked to each of the targets. Miracle Whale, being a mobile target, will be attacked first. Then the rest. "

As he spoke, several junior NCOs passed among the chairs in the audience, handing out thin folders detailing the mission. For a moment, the officer paused and observed as the men and women before him leafed through the folders. Then he spoke: "Any questions?"

Another pause.

"I expect to see you at the runways tomorrow, ten zero-zero."

*

"Trieste Nest, this is Orca-Six, I have detected Miracle Whale, over."

The crane vessel, an enormous rectangular shape, waited for them. None of its crew were yet aware of their fate – none could yet know that four strategic bombers were on their way, and that an AWACS craft was scouting out ahead of them. Once the radar had detected the ship, and the news of its location were sent to the bombers, they no longer needed to even come close to it.

The vessel's fate was sealed.

The bombers' weapons officers placed their fingers onto the dashboards, flicking off authorization to fire. In several minutes, the missiles were on their way – about two dozen of them. The missiles, each of them a heavyweight ramjet, were designed to kill aircraft carriers, and it was hoped that they would do a similarly good job on the immense engineering vessel.

"Orca-One this is Orca-Six, I have visual on our whale, over!"

The ramjet missiles smacked into the vast ship like hunters' bullets hitting the flanks of an African elephants. Vast explosions boiled up through its sides, as the quarter-ton warheads detonated within it, sending shrapnel and structure fragments throughout the machine. Then, as the AWACS aircraft circled its prostrate animal, they could see its crane, as tall as an apartment building, begin to creak and give way as it fell on the deck. Fire boiled up once more as the crane fell.

"Orca-One, I am Orca-Six, the crane is down, repeat, the crane is down!"

*

For the two oil rigs, the attacks were even simpler.

The QPSR had prided itself owning some of the largest (some said, the largest) oil rigs in the Mediterranean. These were capable of producing thousands upon thousand of barrels of oil every day. Unfortunately, what they were not capable of doing was moving.

"Trieste Nest, I am Carver-Two, passing over Cornucopia now, over."

The bomber passed three kilometers in the air over the vast oil rigs, and of course opened its bomb bays. Dozens upon dozens of bombs fell free. These were unguided, aimed only by the vast, majestic aircraft's onboard ballistic computer – elderly 'dumb' bombs, which the Allaneans had of course stored aplenty.

The first several bombs missed the platform, splashing into the sea. Then they began smashing into the vast structure. Some pierced through the deck, detonating violently within the platform, others exploded on the deck, yet others failed to explode at all. This did not matter – there were simply far too many bombs for a few failures to even matter. And there were, of course, three more bombers.

"I am Carver-One, now passing over Cornucopia, over."

This one carried only a dozen bombs – but these were far larger, weighing about a ton each. They dove into the smoldering fire below, and then exploded within it, sending fountains of flaming oil into the skies, and torrents of black cure onto the surface of the Mediterranean.

The third bomber carried a cargo of small, guided bombs. They dove below, towards the tugboats and service vessels that patrolled the oil field.

The fours carried three dozen more dumb bombs, and these came shrieking down on the flaming oil rig.

The other oil rig – the one Allanean plans referred to as the "Self-Serving Tablecloth" – would meet with a similar fate.

Contact with the oil processing terminals on land would be lost within seconds. The oil would cease flowing there within minutes. Within hours, anyone standing on the shore would be able to see the pillars of black, acrid, toxic smoke rising from the oil field. And within days, the oil slick would spread far and wide, and poisoned fish would begin washing up on the beaches.

Tripoli | Camp Samuelson

Colonel Wesley Samuelson watched as paratroopers got into trucks and prepared to head into Tripoli to secure selected areas. The patrolling operations had been cancelled as Krenorus prepared to take a bigger role in the conflict. Lieutenant Colonel Nathaniel van Boerderij stood by him. The colonel wore his beret while van Boerderij held his in his hand as the soldiers rolled out.

"Colonel," Boerderij said as they both kept looking on, showing no emotion.

"Yes, Boerderij,"

"Our men seem eager. However, there are only around five-hundred paratroopers."

"Leonidas only had three hundred Spartans."

"Well, they all died in the end."

"Yes..."

Road Apple

Dawn
The road was empty save for a few cars. Many avoided using the road during firefights that broke out between communists and Islamists. The paratroopers quickly secured much of the road and built checkpoints along the road. It was relatively peaceful. None died.

Sabratah

Taking Sabratah would split the main QPRA force in Tripoli and the minor forces in the towns around it in half. The communists knew this too and had stationed around one hundred and thirty men to defend the area. When the Krenorussians were spotted, nearly a dozen reinforcements were called. Grey Squad lead the way as the Krenorussian forces pushed through death and sorrow to victory. As Sergeant Andrew crouched behind cover, holding his weapon, one of the other paratroopers was shot in the chest. He fell to the ground. Andrew ordered his squad to provide covering fire as he ran out to drag the man to cover. The man was bloody and seemed dead. He checked his pulse... dead.

"Move! Move!" one of the other squad leaders shouted as the soldiers fired and slowly advanced, pushing back the communists. Soon, the communists had seemed to have spread out, making the area the Krenorussians were in a kill-zone. Luckily, Krenorussian snipers stationed on buildings provided covering fire on the communists. It was at this point that Andrew decided to flank around the QPRA. He gathered Grey Squad and informed the other squads. After quickly running across the battlefield, they had flanked the enemy. They quickly caught the enemy by surprise, killing many. The communist fighters began to route. Soon, a mass route was happening with the communists running away.

The Krenorussians had won. Out of the one hundred Krenorussians paratroopers sent to secure the area, nearly fifteen died and twenty-two were wounded. The enemy, who totalled one hundred and fifty-six loss nearly seventy men. This would come to be known as the Sabratah Skirmish.

Qaser Bin Ghashir Road

Nearly two hundred men were ordered to secure this road and the surrounding area. The fighting was brutal, with both sides suffering casualties. One of the Krenorussian soldiers - Phillip Neumann - was blown up by a grenade thrown by the communists. Another - John MacDonald - was killed while trying to rescue a wounded soldier in the open. The red berets worn by the paratroopers were not very effective against bullets, causing many to perish from headshots by opportunist QPRA snipers.

"Move! Move, men!" one officer shouted as he was shot in the stomach, causing him to fall to his knees and die, falling to the ground face first. The Krenorussian paratrooper fired back, butchering many QPRA soldiers. One of the soldiers - Karim - ran as the paratrooper fired a bullet, going into his back, killing him. Another Krenorussian had his stomach ripped open by an explosion, causing his intestines to fall out. He cried for his mother as he rolled his eyes back. Another was shot dead by a stray bullet.

Soon, the QPRA forces were reinforced by more militants and civilian fighters. After brutal fighting, they retreated into the surrounding area. This was where it would be its deadliest as dozens of Krenorussians were wounded by traps. One of the Krenorussians had his leg ripped off from an explosion of an IED. The Krenorussians had to clear each building one-by-one.

The fighting got deadlier every inch advanced by the Krenorussian forces. Many QPRA forces also died. One communist civilian fighter was killed after being blown up by one of his factions own IEDs. Many cried for their friends and loved ones who had died. This would be known as the Battle of Teary Roads, due to the many tears that were shed in the fighting. Out of the two hundred men sent to secure the Qaser bin Ghashir Road and the surrounding area, twenty-six men had died and another fifty-nine had been wounded. For the QPRA, of the three hundred men in the battle, nearly one hundred were killed and another sixty were wounded.

A list was made and broadcasted all over Krenorussian television a few hours after the bodies had been counted.

Derna, Qaidi

Much to the surprise of the QPRA, the IJA wasn't in charge of this operation. They were facing the most brutal, fanatical, best trained, and overall, elite troops the Shogunate had to offer. The Imperial Royal Guard. The first vehicles to enter Derna were Type 90 tanks, Type 96 WAPCs, Type 16 MVCs, Type 73 Heavy Trucks, Type 73 Medium Trucks, and some other vehicles such as mine clearing vics. These IJRG certainly weren't like the IJA, dressed in their typical uniforms seen in Al-Habanah, most were dressed in the black and bronze trim uniforms, few were dressed in white and blue trim uniforms, fewer more so wore gold and purple trim uniforms, only one could be seen in one of the Type 16 MVCs from the commander's hatch wearing a crimson red uniform with purple trim. All the vehicles would be seen marked with the black paint job, horizontal red line with white borders, and at the centre of the sides were the insignia of the Imperial Royal Guard.

Just before reaching the outskirts of the city, the IJRG troops, mostly non-nobility members, Tozamas, and Fudais piled out of their vehicles and followed behind them, scanning the streets, windows, and doorways for enemy activity, upon reaching the buildings on the outskirts, the IJRG troops started to metaphorically "hug" the buildings with their backs to walls in groups of four while they moved up the streets with the armour on both sides of the streets, checking windows on the lower floors they passed.

Derna

"Shit! get down." the officer whispered to Ghazali as he pushed both of them to the floor of the basement. The small rectangular windows which would be on the level of the roads outside were being watched by the Japanese Royal Guards troops as well as those inside of the transport vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carriers. The IJRG soldiers would notice how the streets had many trenches in them with were filled with dead QPRA bodies as well as civilian bodies. One of the bodies in the middle of the road was that of a ruffly two-year-old boy, killed by an Allanean bomb dropped. These bombs came without warning during the time the QPRA was preparing for the attack. But, the QPRA commanders probably expected this bombing, hence why so many civilians were brought out and the time for getting the civilians out of Derna was slow in order to cause maximum civilian casualties, but that was simply speculation, which was like a rampant pest during times of uncertainty or war. The Japanese soldiers shot most of the dead bodies with heavy machine gun fire in order to destroy any IEDs. It worked: Dozens of bombs were destroyed that day. "Shit," the officer said to himself as Ghazali finally decided to look on.

When Ghazali looked on, the rest of the ten troops in the building were also crouching by the wall, out of the vision of the IJRG forces. The IJRG infantry was extremely easy to see considering the colouring scheme of their uniforms. Through the proportion of how many men in a uniform were present, the QPRA soldiers were able to determine who they needed to kill. As the IJRG troops passed by, the QPRA soldiers got into position. Snipers, machine gunners, and other soldiers were all setting their sites. The snipers targeted the more important soldiers and officers, specifically those in white-and-blue trim uniforms, gold-and-purple trim uniforms, and the commander in crimson uniform with a purple trim.

"Damn, those vehicles are easy as hell to target," said one of the soldiers with an RPG as he quietly aimed his RPG at the rear of an APC passing by.

Meanwhile, when all of the Japanese soldiers were in the town, garbage trucks - driven by civilians - were put in place. Inside these trucks were concrete, making them extremely hard for the garbage trucks to be moved. This made the trucks slow, so civilians were tasked with running outside and surrendering in order to stall. When the trucks were in place, the streets the IJRG convoy were on erupted in fire as the QRPA forces caught the IJRG by surprise. QPRA machine gun fire from building windows, sewers, basement windows, corners, and holes peppered many of the Japanese forces. Grenades were thrown as well. There were simply too many to throw back.

"Fire now!" an officer shouted as the first RPG was fired at the rear of an Armoured Personnel Carrier, penetrating its armour and blowing it up, killing or wounding the IJRG troop near it. More RPGs were fired at the trucks, which were an easy target. Soldiers with heavy machines guns also aimed at the wheels of many trucks, in order to stop them in their tracks, but this was the second priority to killing as many IJRG troops as one could. Snipers were largely successful, killing some of the men in white uniforms with blue trims, although many got to cover in the massive firefight. Around three snipers fired simultaneously at the commander in crimson with purple trims. The commander would be extremely lucky to survive.

It would be hell on earth for the IJRG troops as QPRA forces from all sides fired on them and explosions were rampant. The QPRA were confident not to be hit with artillery considering how close they were. If the Japanese did fire artillery, there would surely be friendly fire.

After around two minutes, the IJRG started firing back. One of the IJRG bullets went through the window of the basement Ghazali was in, going into one of the QPRA soldiers' foot. He fell to the ground, crying in pain. As two other soldiers tried to bring him to the safety of the walls, bullets rained in. One of the soldiers was shot in the head and immediately died while another was shot in the back. He fell to the ground, paralyzed and unconscious and rapidly bleeding out. Ghazali immediately went prone on the floor and moved slowly to the injured man and the paralyzed one, gripping the injured one first, he pulled them back to the wall. "Thank you, brother," the injured man said as he took off his bloodied shoe and a medic came and took out the tools needed to remove a bullet inside his foot from his first aid kit.

"Ahh!" the man screamed as the bullet quickly gripped the bullet with tweezers and forcefully pulled. After that, he poured Gin over the wound before taking a sip and bandaging the wound. Another bullet came through the window, hitting the floor. After that, the medic went over to the paralyzed man. "He'll be dead," he said.

"Then at least make use of him!" the officer shouted. The medic immediately carried the paralyzed man and put him facing the window, he was immediately peppered by bullets, but the medic was protected. He was now the human shield.

Ghazali took his assault rifle and blindly fired through the window, wounding one Japanese soldier after a bullet went into his leg, making him fall to the ground. Ghazali continued to fire, killing the man. The IJRG soldiers started throwing their own grenades at buildings during the chaos. One of these grenades landed in the basement. The officer pushed Ghazali to the ground while grabbing one of the soldiers and jumping to the ground. The grenade exploded, killing everyone in the room except the officer and Ghazali. When he got up, he saw the dead mangled bodies of his comrades who were once alive. The man whose foot had been injured was on the floor, his stomach open and insides pouring out; blood coming out of his mouth.

The medic who had helped the man was now dead, his leg separated from his body. Ghazali saw the medic's eyes; they were horridly outside of his body, being held from falling to the floor by the medic's eye sockets. After looking around in the destruction, he also saw that the officer's leg was injured. "Help me," the officer said while reaching his hand out to Ghazali.

He took the officer and carried him to the walls. He slowly crouched and crawled to the first aid kit, grabbing it and crawling back. He then bandaged the officer's leg. "Thank you," the officer said in pain. After that, Ghazali sat down by the officer as the battle raged on.

Meanwhile, the QPRA machine gunners were killing many men but had also taken casualties. The tanks were now firing at the buildings, killing many. However, many of the tanks had already been destroyed due to the massive bombardment from RPGs as well as other explosive devices such as C4.

"Ghazali... That's your name, isn't it?" the officer said.

"Yes, it is."

"So," the officer said, "religion?"

It was common for many people in the QPRA to ask the religion of their comrades as it helped many religious people get into groups considering nearly everyone had Arabic names.

"Muslim."

"Atheist," the officer responded.

After a small pause, Ghazali asked, "Why?"

"God is but an invention of man. I do believe in the ideas of many religions, like those Christian buggers. Islam though is a violent religion."

"No, it's not."

"Oh yes, it is. The Quran tells Muslims to kill those who disbelieve, like Hindus and Christians and Jews and Atheists."

"I don't do that."

"Then you're not Muslim. Muslims are those who 'submit to God's will'. You clearly don't, considering you have the heart to actually feel compassion for those who don't follow that cult."

"I... guess so."

"Then it's settled. We talk later, there's a f*cking battle right now."

The battle still raged on as civilians now joined the fight. The men fought with guns while the women and children strapped suicide bombs to themselves and blue themselves up near the Japanese while other charged at them with knives or to simply get their guns in order to stop them from firings, giving the QPRA forces a chance to continue firing.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL, REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. ALL PILOTS, TO YOUR AIRCRAFT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL
In Soviet Crimea, in Trieste, on Allanean ships at sea, pilots ran to their planes. Some leaped out of bed, pulling on their flight coveralls as they ran. Few had any understanding of what was happening, but they were sailors and pilots, and they followed orders. As they ran out to the runways, they could see ground crew working at a feverish pace, preparing to arm the aircraft. Fuzes were being placed into bombs, missiles lifted to the launch pylons of bombers, fuel hoses ran to planes.
Captain Antony Hanson shouted, trying to overcome the noise of an immense engine being started a few dozen yards away.
– "What the fuck is going on, soldier?"
A technician replied – "Fuck me if I know, Captain Hanson! It's some shit in Qaidi! In Benghazi, or in Derna, or fuck knows! They say there's some serious shit going down!"
– "Fucking Qaidi. Is it the commies or the slavers this time?" – Captain Hanson grumbled as he made his way to his plane – a broad, bulbous B-22.
The aircraft began to take off about half an hour later, their routes arcing out from their bases and towards Derna.
Pilots. – a cold, polite voice in Hanson's helmet said, its calmness seeming to belie the importance of what is being said – Coalition forces in Derna are under attack by an overwhelming force of Communist terrorists. You are to provide fire support as necessary as per instruction from coalition forces. Communication data is being transferred to you now via encrypted datalink. Yes, we do realize this is fairly unusual. But the situation there is an extremely hairy one. Over and out.

* * *

Hanson's bomber plane descended – three thousand meters, two thousand five hundred, two thousand. Below, one could see Derna's residential neighborhoods – a seemingly featureless expanse of yellowish-grey concrete apartment blocks. The target area was about a mile from the neighborhoods where Japanese troops were fighting the enemy – but it was, or so the instructions said, an area where enemy forces were assembling for a strike.

The belly of the vast bomber opened. Dozens of half-ton bombs screamed down, the air whistling around their fins as they fell. There was a ferocious roar as the bombs impacted. Some were fuzed to detonate as they hit, exploding on building roofs or on the ground. Others penetrated into the apartment buildings, tearing them apart as they exploded several floors below.

As Hanson looked out from his plane's cockpit, he saw another strategic bomber, much like his own, open its bombing bays. This one carried only six bombs – but they were enormous, five-ton devices. They fell down onto a street intersection, aimed at a convoy of QPRA vehicles. Whether they hikt Hanson did not know – but he saw the vast sultans of grey dust and smoke rise from the impact.

Everywhere the Japanese asked, bombs would fall – every kind of bomb the Allaneans had in their storage and could bring out on short notice. Napalm munitions splattered flame that was hot enough to ignite steel, cluster bombs detonated overhead and showered entire neighborhoods with sensor-fuzed bomblets, unguided bombs shook the ground with mighty blasts, precision bombs swooped down onto enemy positions.

It was still very feasible, of course, that the Japanese would be wiped out in Derna – but the Allaneans were determined to make sure their coalition partners would have a heroes' escort to the afterlife.

"Shit! get down." the officer whispered to Ghazali as he pushed both of them to the floor of the basement.

Derna, Qaidi

This attack upon the IJRG would quickly become apparent to both the QPRA and the civilians who foolishly threw themselves at the fanatical troops to be a mistake. While outnumbered the IJRG still didn't relent in it's duty, these were the vassal samurai of the shogunate, trained from birth to give their lives, as civilians grouped up on the non-nobility, tozamas, and Fudais, they would know quickly this in itself was a mistake as they were blown up by the very same people sacrificing their lives to prevent their equipment, weaponry, or themselves from falling into enemy hands. Either of these three if carried out successfully would be a dishonour upon them and they believed to be refused entry into heaven. This wouldn't come to pass.

"Die you communist rats!" One Tozama yelled out as she sprayed wildly at the approaching civilians, the machine guns from the APCs fired as well, gunning down the civilians and whatever QPRA came running, however in vain as they would be swarmed, leaving their crews with no choice. The vehicles wouldn't fall into enemy hands either. As APCs, Tanks, or even the wheeled TDs in the city were swarmed by civilians fighting for the QPRA, they would explode from the inside rendering them useless, while the main ground troops retreated back to the first trenches just on the outside of the city, most were responsible for firing, keeping both the civilians and the actual QPRA away while a few IJRG members were tasked with stacking bodies to be used as makeshift sandbags.

"Fight to your last! Save one grenade for yourself! Do not allow our equipment to fall into the hands of these dishonourable dogs! Kill them all!" One surviving Vassal Retainer ordered to his men up and down the trench, the actual officers of the IJRG, the Vassal Retainer, a hand full of fudais and a group of Tozamas were all the remained of the officers in charge of the IJRG force, the rest were all Non-nobility fighting away in the trenches together, until their guns were rendered useless, the barrels breaking from overuse, or simply ceasing to fire due to the lack of Ammo, those that had finished off their rounds made use of the grenades they had, killing themselves with the grenades to destroy their equipment, weapons, and to avoid capture.

Derna

"What the f*ck are those?" one of the QPRA soldiers said in shock as the Allanean strategic bombers flew over Derna. The bomber's belly opened as bombs fell down. These did not affect those ambushing the Japanese in any way because of the closeness of the Japanese to them. These bombs - instead - fell on the garbage trucks supposed to stop the Japanese from escaping, causing them to exploded and become even harder to move. Meanwhile, other bombs fell on an intersection where there were transport vehicles from which the QPRA were bringing ammunition from. Most of these bombs miraculously missed. Only one bomb fell, blowing up one of the empty trucks. The QPRA immediately pulled out all the ammunition from the rest of the trucks and took them to where the ambush was happening.

Tripoli

The Krenorussian assaults had put a dent in the QPRA lines. Yohanatan was extremely worried because these assaults had cut the QPRA forces in half. He immediately prepared troops to take back the lost areas.

OPERATION JERBOA, ST. GEORGE FORCES, OVER QAIDI SULTANATE TERRITORY
RSGAF HELICOPTER SQUADRON "SAINT-JEROME"

Operation Camel Spider had been a great success, even with the limited St. George involvement, the Sultanate remnant appeared to be able to stand on its own two feet. Granted, it did help when the other sides of the conflict were well known for butchering captured foes, the soldiers of St. George Territory were happy to not count the Japanese as an enemy, as rumours of Port Qadir, Al-Habanah had spread through the camps like wildfire. But that mattered very little for the men of RSGAF Squadron Saint-Jerome, as their Griffin helicopter hovered above the Qaidi desert, in fact, life had gotten much easier for the men, who had hoped for a quick end to the conflict in Qaidi, the St. George government had declared a change in strategy with the end of the Sharia Coalition, the strategy was to attempt to rehabilitate and rebuild Qaidi with local assistance, it would be a long time to see if the strategy would have any merit, but it seemed worth the try. The real question would be how to reach to fighters? They must know that death is near them constantly, even as they hide amongst the local populace, or in the desert, praying to avoid a missile from an Allanean missile, the method of reaching the ex-fighters was rather crude, as Sgt. Jean-Luis Raymond tossed bundles of papers out of the side of the helicopter; the papers on one side contained detailed instructions on how to surrender to St. George Forces, with giving up their weapons and assisting St. George Forces in removing the explosives that the Sharia Coalition had placed, the paper promised food, water, and a reward for surrendering to St. George, and a promise that no cruel and unusual punishment will occur at the hands of St. George Forces, on the back was the same thing, but in picture format, in case if the fighter was illiterate. As well, a frequency to a radio station was on the bottom where the instructions to surrender were described, as well as playing popular Qaidi music.

ST. GEORGE FORCES BACE ASWAN. ASWAN, QAIDI SULTANATE REMNANT

The nurse in scrubs stepped outside of the surgical tent, covered in the blood of a Highlander who had stepped on an explosive, she slowly walked to the side of the building and took out a cigarette, quickly lighting it and looking at the sky. Mixed feelings plagued her, she thought of University back home, how her Professors had promised that Qaidi wouldn't be dangerous where she was going and that it would be an easy way to pay off University. The stories that came from Northern Qaidi, Derna, Tripoli, Al-Habanah, rumours of atrocities committed by all sides, "I guess we're not that bad." She tried to justify everything using this phrase as she in the direction of the airport where another Globemaster guided by two Hornets was to land, to drop off medical supplies, clean water, and food, and to take away two St. George soldiers that had died in the conflict. She was startled as the large megaphone loudly made an announcement, seemingly more to the local populace than to those in the base, the announcement in Qaidi-Arabic went as follows, "Citizens of Aswan and the Qaidi Sultanate, the St. George Forces would like to thank you for your great kindness and hospitality, as part of the soon to come plan for Qaidi, the St. George Territorian government believes that for Qaidi to be a prosperous land, she must have a healthy people, an educated people that may live in peace. The St. George Medical Corps is offering free vaccinations, clean water, warm meals, and supplies for children to the families affected by the current conflict in the nation. Brigadier-General Louis Winston thanks the Sultan and his people for their great generosity and hopes that we may live in peace soon."

The move didn't surprise her, St. George was trying to be seen in a mainly helping capacity as not to cripple the country when it was time to go, lost in her sleepless thoughts she was jolted awake by her pager, quickly dropping her cigarette in the dispenser and running back to the tent.

LIEUTENANT-GENERAL WILLIAM DAWES, PORT QADIR, JAPANESE ZONE

The small plane glided quickly through the sky as Lt-Gen. William Dawes gazed out the port side window, he could almost instantly tell when he was flying over the war zone, it was nothing like what the St. George Forces had seen, the city had clearly had better days, as the General drank a glass of water, he didn't know what to expect, the Japanese were rumoured to be vicious fighters, but that was just about every player in the great game, they surely wouldn't respect him, 'Did they find mercy weak?' and other thoughts took over as the flight attendant announced that they would be trying to reach Japanese forces to be instructed on where to land the plane.

"Imperial Japanese and Pacific States, this is Maple-1, carrying Lieutenant-General William Dawes, we are requesting a place to land and an escort ready to meet with your high command." the pilot called down to the Japanese Forces.

From: Thomas Boyd, Minister of Global Affairs - St. George Territory
Subject: Coordinating Strategy

Sallam, we feel that there is a need to apologize to His Highness from the St. George Government, our lack of support has been part of a failing strategy that has not provided you with the support necessary to achieve absolute victory, this policy of non-action or small moves will be exchanged for swift and decisive support for your government. We believe there is a need to inform you that we would like to request permission to construct refugee camps in your territory as to provide important humanitarian aid to Qaidi citizens affected by the crises. Separate camps will be constructed to rehabilitate Sharia Coalition Fighters and to give them life skills to ensure that they can find proper lives after the conflict, granted they are cleared of any crimes against Qaidi and Coalition Forces they will be treated by St. George Forces and Medical Corps, to ensure safe treatment and that proper protocols are kept. Furthermore, SGFB Aswan is seeking to provide additional support for citizens in the area, no doubt affected by the conflict in your lands. We hope to have continued good relations between our two states, I hope your well.

Derna, Qaidi

The fighting seen by the QPRA against the Japanese Imperial Royal Guard was nothing they'd seen before. It would become cemented into the minds of the QPRA and civilians fighting along side them, these troops could be considered "crazier" than the IJA, with some Tozama's charging into crowds of the civilians with their gunto sword in one hand and a grenade in the other, sure they would be stabbed however just before they would shout "Tenno Heika Banzai!" before their grenades detonated taking the closest with them to the after life in a large explosion.

Meanwhile the Vassal Retainer along with some of his officers continued to fight back from the trenches with machine gun, and rifle fire. However there was a change in tactics, if they were to go down then they would take the enemy with them. Non-nobility members who ran dry of ammunition gathered up their rifle and grenade, pulling the pin, charging into enemy lines shouting "Tenno Heika Banzai" before they simply ceased to be.

Al-Habanah, Japanese occupation zone around the port, Japanese Controlled Airspace.

The small plane had been picked up on radar and two Japanese F-15s were brought up into the sky to confirm what type of air craft it was, it being a small transport plane, and the radio contact made by it's pilots had given the Japanese some slight relief. "You are to land at the Al-Habanah airport, Marshal Arimura Minami and General Kitagou Ayaka shall meet you there, we will escort you there then return to the Shoukaku. Welcome to Al-Habanah." A pilot of one of the Japanese IJNAS F-15s replied as they flew just barely near the small plane to keep a safe distance.

AL-HABANAH, JAPANESE OCCUPIED ZONE, LT-GEN. WILLIAM DAWES

The radio quickly announced the Japanese response to the St. Georgian pilot's request for an escort, to which the pilot responded, "Order received and understood, we will be moving towards Al-Habanah Airport as soon as possible, thank you for the escort sir." And with that, the pilot announced to the men in the cabin that they were soon to land, the three men, along with Lt-Gen. William Dawes quickly unloaded their handguns and pulled back the slide to remove the round from the chamber and placed the weapon in its case and quickly buckled up for the bumpy ride to the Al-Habanah Airport tarmac. Once the plane had finally reached the ground, Dawes quickly made his way out to the awaiting Marshall Minami and General Ayaka, holding onto his briefcase, he walked over to them and extended his hand and said, "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, I would like to thank you for agreeing to meet with us."

Derna

Unfortunetely for many of the Tozamas who tried to charge into the crowd, they would not make it. The QPRA soldiers simply fired at the Tozamas' heads. While this happened, QPRA forces intensified the attack against the Japanese in the trenches by throwing grenades into the trenches. These attacks would come in short but hard bursts.

Ghazali looked at his officer while he slept. He was still scared as the fighting raged on. What should I do? he thought as he heard the screams of both the Japanese and Qaidi, scared and furious, for dead friends and death to the enemy.

The sound of footsteps could be heard among the screaming and gunfire and explosions; getting louder and louder every step. Finally, the footsteps slowed down and became quieter. Eventually, Ghazali knew what would happen. It was either life or death; the QPRA or Japanese 'Devils'. "Get down!" one of the soldiers shouted in Arabic as QPRA soldiers stormed the room. The soldiers quickly lowered their weapons at the gruesome sight of the dead. Behind them, the sergeant quickly barged through the soldiers to simply be stopped in his tracks by the sight.

"What... is... this?" the sergeant asked as he looked at the dead.

Ghazali simply looked on as he tried to speak, but his lips would not move. Finally, the officer - who had been awakened by the noise - said: "What the Japanese bastards did!"

"Damn," the sergeant said as he looked around. Finally, he saw the officer's leg. "Take that man to a medic!" he ordered as two of the soldiers went and carried him. "What about our task? We'll be unable to complete it unless we have one more soldier," one of the soldiers said. The sound of fighting was still going on and on. "You," the sergeant said to Ghazali. "What's your name?"

"Mohammad Ghazali bin Iqwan"

"Good, Ghazali. You're coming with us."

Ghazali got up and took his BH-183. The other men and he quickly walked up the basement stairs to the house, which had been severely damaged. He presumed the squad came through here because of the cover the house provided. He and the other men made their way through the ruins, stepping around dead bodies and animals such as stray cats and dogs. "This is quite the wreckage, isn't it?" he asked but the others did not respond. Ghazali did nothing but continue walking.

"So, Sergeant. What is your name?" Ghazali asked as they continued walking, alert in case any Japanese soldiers fired on them. "Ghazali, right?"
the Sergeant asked as he raised his eyebrows.

"Yes," he responded, quite nervous.

"Shut up. We don't want those Japanese targeting you considering how big a target your mouth is," he said before the men burst out into quick laughter before moving on. "Yessir," Ghazali responded. After walking for a while, they reached a house which was full of wounded QPRA troops, being cared for by medics.

"By the way, Ghazali. It's Sergeant Imran," the sergeant said as they walked into cheers from the wounded soldiers; among the cheers were words of encouragement. One of the men shouted: 'Killing those Japanese bast*rds!' to more cheers and applause.

"Into the basement, boys," one of the soldiers standing guard said before the sergeant and the men walked down the wooden, clunky steps. Inside the basement were tanks of gas along with machine guns, assault rifles, and explosives. "Get that flamethrower," the Sergeant said before one of the soldiers took the flamethrower. "Get a fuel canister as well to fit onto that flamethrower."

"Get what ammunition you need," Sergeant Imran said as the soldiers re-armed themselves. Ghazali simply collected more ammunition for his BH-183.

When the men finished re-arming, they walked out of the basement and the house. As they got near the Japanese trenches, they got into cover. They saw Japanese soldiers firing at the civilians, who were firing shots back. They waited for the opportunity to strike. While waiting, they saw much. A Japanese 'Tozama' charging and stabbing a QPRA soldier before exploding while a QPRA soldier sprayed five Japanese soldiers with a machine gun. A Japanese grenade blowing off the arm of a civilian teenager, who cried as a medic fell on him - dead - after being shot by a Japanese gun. An IJRG soldier being shot in the chest by a stray bullet, falling to the mud-ridden ground of the trenches, which were filled with bodies. The trenches reeked of death and rotting flesh. Finally, the opportunity arose when a QPRA soldier threw a grenade into the Japanese trenches while two machine gunners pinned down the Japanese soldiers from trying to throw the grenade back.

The explosion was loud but was unalienable from the other explosions happening. What Ghazali did see was screams of some Japanese. Next thing he knew, the man with a flamethrower - Ahmad - was running out with his comrades behind him, firing on the Japanese scum. Ahmad fired his flamethrower; the flames burning many a Japanese and dead body alike. Ghazali did not believe that Ahmad liked what he was doing, but he could not think as soon he was firing his BH-183 at the Japanese. He was shocked that even in this warfare, the Japanese were still fighting tooth and nail for their Emperor, or was it, Shogun?

Whatever was happening, it seemed that the QPRA were winning as they rushed the Japanese positions, though they suffered many casualties. Ghazali soon saw a man dual-wielding machine guns firing at the Japanese, shouting, 'For the people of Qaidi! Death to the Japanese Imperial Scum!'

Ghazali knew this would end in a bloodbath. Well, it already was, wasn't it?

Mediterranean Operational Area

"Red Castle. Empire Five-One here..." Orbiting 42,000 feet above the sea and a hundred miles from the action in the aforementioned city, an Voyager EC.4 of the 5th Imperial and Royal Surveillance Group with the callsign of Empire Five-One had everything happening below in its sights. Under the airborne battle management and command post's purview were also the mother of all strike packages scheduled for the Japanese in Derna.
"Empire Five-One. Red Castle acknowledges. Go ahead."
"Empire Five-One. We have a developing Broken Arrow event in Derna. Empire Five-One is assuming temporary air control over your assets for the Qaidi theatre. We are assigning all available air assets to emergency suppression..."
"Red Castle copies. Patching you through to Akagi 11-Lead now."

Hundreds of miles westwards, the lead elements of the 11th Carrier Fighter Regiment, Imperial Fusō Naval Aviation was already nearly within release range of Tripoli when it suddenly snapped around ninety degrees towards the east, the Broken Arrow call from Empire Five-One having arrived just in the nick of time. With full supercruise it would take a bare twenty or so minutes until they arrived within weapons range of of the Japanese positions. North of them, strike assets, big and small from their home bases in Hungary and the Littorals scrambled into the air, laden full with every weapon in the Monarchy's arsenal. First to arrive though would be Akagi 11 and its consorts from No. 3 Imperial and Royal Naval Strike Group „Edler von Eberhorst“.
"Red Castle to any remaining Imperial Royal Guard callsigns in Derna. Broken Arrow is underway. Estimated Time of Arrival twenty minutes. Gods be with you all..."

And as promised, twenty five minutes later, dozens upon dozens of bomb-like objects glided in above the heads of the Qaidi communists assaulting the Japanese positions, and ignited. Searing white light and thunder, loud without precedent, enough to permanently blind and deafen anybody caught out in the open cascaded down all over the city in concentric rings radiating outwards from every allied position Empire Five-One had managed to identified and transmitted. Raining down in the aftermath of the explosions were brilliantly white fire, surrounding the lucky few survivors in its deathly embrace. Efforts to extinguish the white curtain of hell-fire with water or carbon dioxide only fuelled its intensity.
As the few Qaidi communists lucky enough to still be alive after the inferno it was not over, far from it. Low in the skies, a single line of Tornadoes and Firefalcons stretching from horizon to horizon screamed in from the sea as their MW-1 submunition dispensers started to discharge their payloads. Tens of thousands of bomblets and antirunway bombs tore a new avenue into the city, turning buildings, cars, armoured vehicles, roads, even the reinforced concrete buses the Qaidi communist army had barricaded themselves with into shrapnel. Following the Tornadoes and Firefalcons as they ejected their MW-1's and egressed were Peregrine FA.4's from the light carriers. They laid a corridor of napalm down on the newly created avenue, turning it again into another inferno. Finally, with the city burning below it, the final strike package arrived, nearly an hour since the beginning of the massive air raid. San Real B.1's from Bomb Group „Kaiser“ Nr. 1 released thousands of guided fuel air explosives on the ruined city, drawing and consuming the oxygen the young firestorm that was breaking out needed and quenching the flames.

Al-Habanah, Japanese Occupied Zone

Marshal Minami and General Ayaka bowed their heads then took a turn shaking Lieutenant General Dawes hand. Arimura was the first to speak up. "Thank you for coming. It is the desire of the Shogunate to ensure all sides here from the other corners of the globe are on the same page." The marshal said before an IJA captain came running and bowed his head to the Marshal, General Ayaka, and Lt-General Dawes before he whispered in Marshal Minami's ear. She only shook her head. "I see. The Shogun won't be too happy and expect us to respond to avenge the lives lost, as well as secure government property. Send a splinter force from Tripoli as well as a force from Al-Habanah. Along with Project 72391. Let's see how the new tank preforms in this combat test.... And if it fails well... We'll just have to exterminate every last communist in Derna. Make them experience a true hell, unbridled. ...And have the 16th Guard battalion join our forces. It would do well for their morale to avenge the loss of their comrades."

Minami said and the IJA captain bowed his head before running off. "Hmm. I suppose we should also get your plane off the runway for the time being, the IJAAS will be scrambling it's own fighters to support combat operations." Minami said as she stepped to the side and motioned to a small convoy of Type 73 light trucks and medium trucks with a IJRG escort of two IJRG Type 96 WAPCs. "We shall have to speak at headquarters, at the port."

Derna, Qaidi

After the first bomb had dropped, the essential large scale flashbang as the Japanese would come to call it. The furthest out IJRG forces withdrew, dragging their comrades while tanks and other vics on the outskirts provided covering fire for those retreating. Retreat in the face of the enemy was dishonourable. However dying a foolish death was more so dishonourable. One vassal retainer covered his men and women as they withdrew to the lines outside of the city. This was a bloody day for the IJRG, a valuable lesson, and a mistake the IJRG wouldn't make again. This would be a lesson remembered forever. One that would leave many of the few survivors of the attack with a desire for vengeance and the blood of the communists. The QPRA couldn't possibly understand what they had stirred in the commanders on the ground of the IJRG.

As the IJA reinforcements arrived outside of the city a constant, round the clock artillery bombardment would commence, high explosive shells, bunker buster shells, white phosphorous shells, and chemical warfare shells would be fired into areas which the Japanese were informed by the PGQ were likely held by the communists. The IJN too manoeuvred into position with it's ships on the coast and began their own artillery bombardment. However no ground attack would come from the Japanese, just round the clock artillery bombardments, and airstrikes.

Port Qadir, Al-Habanah, Qaidi

A ship would pull into port, guided by Japanese brought tugs, most of the docks at the port were co-opted for Japanese use, with commercial ships from Japan bringing in crates, crates full of building supplies. Japan wasn't one to waste time where economic opportunities lied. They bought up land occupied by the Imperial Army and began construction on high rise apartments, already Japan was making good on two parts of it's plans. To rebuild Qaidi, and modernise it. The high rises would be built according to standards in East Asia. However this ship brought in didn't carry any such materials for peace, only for war. It was allowed in by the Japanese but flew a different flag. This was a ship from one of Japan's Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere puppets Allies. More specifically, China. While Japan had held much of China during the war it fought to unify asia, the war ended in 1945 with a treaty mostly favouring quite literally no one, a sacrifice Japan was willing to make, China remained under the leadership of Chiang Kai-Shek however his government replaced the "reorganised government" Japan had put in place, on the council of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Chinese troops began to leave the ship with their equipment, weaponry, and their armoured vehicles, the tanks would be delivered at a later time so for now, they relied on the Japanese for tank support.

From: Grand Ambassador Peter Nizhinsky, Speaker-to-Slavers and Regional Appointee for the Qaidi Crisis
To: The People of Qaidi.

Greetings.

We in Allanea have observed your actions in Derna and elsewhere. It is to be said that Her Imperial Majesty is impressed with your bravery. She is impressed with little else, however. The people of Western Qaidi have chosen to heroically fight a superior foreign force, sacrificing themselves in Gods know what numbers… on behalf of the Qaidi People's Revolutionary Army. They have chosen to brave Allanean bombings, Austrian missiles, Japanese bayonets, on behalf of the very people who kidnap and murder their children, who blow up their homes, and who deployed chemical weapons in their very cities.

The Allaneans have made sacrifices on Qaidi's behalf time, and time again. We have sent humanitarian aid to your country. We desired no aggression against you, until it was the Sultan's forces that began attacking our aid workers. We have overthrown your Sultan, while working to minimize casualties to yourself. We protected you from aggression from Adradkia, and then from Shackley. We sent more and more aid. And yet, you choose, by your thousands, to fight on behalf of the people who use your own children as living shield and munitions, against the people who bring your children food and shield them with their very bodies.

The Japanese arrived here as peacekeepers. Your QPRA chose to make them enemies, by attacking them, ferociously again and again. And yet you choose to fight on behalf of the people who murder your children.

The Parliament's armies are little better by now – deploying child soldiers, murdering their ideological opponents, whatever such fuckery, we have not trained them in this, and neither have the Japanese. Whatever appeal they had made in the past to 'human rights' is void now.

Of the 'Sharia Coalition', the less is said, the better.

Now, let me make our Queen's decision clear: we will no longer put Allanean lives at risk for the safety of Qaidi's citizens. We will withdraw our ground troops and our special forces. We will provide no weapons, no aid, no support. Those weapons that we cannot airlift or sealift out will be destroyed, so that they cannot be used by any of your factions. Should our coalition partners – the Austrians, or the Japanese, or some other nation with whom we are in good relations – ask that we drop bombs on some terrorists, we will do so. But beyond that, our participation here has ended.

Finally, I wish to say this, on behalf of the Free Kingdom Government:

No interpretation of this message may imply that we are 'offended' by the actions of the Japanese. The actions of the Japanese are entirely legitimate under our understanding of international law. They are fighting against an illegitimate terrorist organization, which is not entitled to the customary protections given by international tradition to soldiers and guerrillas, because they are neither. They deliberately hide among civilians, fail to wear identifying uniforms, and continuously ignore even the semblance of the customs of civilized warfare. As such it is totally within the confines of international military tradition of the Japanese to hang or shoot them like the scum they are. The same also applies to the Sharia Coalition, if only because they are slavers. Just in case you missed the entirety of Allanean foreign policy somehow, DEATH TO THE SLAVER.

In addition, the QPRA's policy that every civilian in its territory is a soldier of the QPRA, and is expected by them to take up arms against the Coalition, makes every civilian… a soldier. That means that the Japanese, or the Austrians, are unable to know which of the civilians they see will attack them – and would be entirely within reason to now start treating every apartment block as if it were a barracks. It would be within their rights to retaliate for the QPRA's chemical weapons use by drowning Tripoli in cyclosarin.

That is all.

May the Gods bless our allies,
And may they forever continue to Bless Allanea.

*

After the message was published, Allanean soldiers began to withdraw from their forts and positions. Mighty explosions shook the earth in their wake, as ammunition supplies were rigged to blow. Those brave enough to search through the ruins would find that the Allaneans had left landmines and booby traps behind them, making trying to pick over the ruins for leftovers dangerous. One never knew when what appears like an ammunition box would detonate violently in one's hand, or when opening a door into an abandoned command bunker would trigger an explosion.

Some of the Allaneans retreated for Port Ismailia, where they were ordered to fortify the city for future defense. Others, to the sea, where they would be picked up by landing ships or helicopters, or to UDC territory. What vehicles could not be rapidly removed or taken behind would be destroyed methodically. Tankers placed time-detonation explosives into the ammunbition carousels of their tanks, truckers inserted flares into the fuel tanks of their trucks. The best the QPRA – or anyone else – could hope for was scrap metal

Yokohama, Imperial Japanese Naval Base, Honshu, The Empire of Japan

Late the previous night, an order came from the Imperial Palace. The IJN Formosa was to be prepared, the fifth ship in the line of the modern Yamato class battleships. And so it was, the next morning the ship was fully crewed and stocked, before the arrival of the Shogun herself, and the Emperor of Japan. Escorted by three IJRG members, a Vassal Retainer, a Tozama, and a Non-nobility member of whom carried three large but mostly flat boxes under his right arm while the royal entourage brought aboard clothes for the royals. Then after a few hours, at 9 in the morning the ship set sailed, escorted by four Tone VI class heavy cruisers, one Shoukaku III standard Aircraft Carrier, six destroyers, one Kongou IX class battlecruiser and a Kii class battleship, these ships set sail and started towards Africa, while most of the fleet was to remain in the Med, the IJN Formosa was to head for Allanea with the Shogun and Emperor. A communique would be sent out by the Imperial Japanese Foreign Ministry some days later as the fleet entered the Med and the IJN Formosa continued on it's course to Allanea.

Good day, it is my duty currently to inform your government, the Shogun herself, as well as the Emperor are almost at the conclusion of their journey across the sea to Allanea on the IJN Formosa, a Yamato class battleship, this ship is the only ship to head to Allanea, transporting the royals to award your Queen, the Collar of the Order of the Chrysanthemum. They are travelling themselves currently as the Emperor should be present for the awarding, otherwise it would just be the Shogun, afterwards the two shall take the route already taken back to Japan, however the Shogun herself will stop in Qaidi on VA day to award a handful of members of the Qaidi provisional government the Order of the Rising Sun. The ship should be approaching your naval border any time now as of the sending of this communique. Thank you.
Signed. Temporary Foreign Minister of the Japanese Empire, Vassal Retainer Kazama Touko

Tripoli, Qaidi

QPRA troops were feeling the heat of the Coalition bombings. The casualty rates were still skyrocketing; the smell of rotten flesh clogged the streets. The intensive patrols done by the QPAF along with the Krenorussians had crippled the QPRA capacity to send troops to fight the invading Japanese. The Allanean bombings and fortresses were also a stake in the kidney for the Commander Yohanatan.

"Shit," Yohanatan said to his fellow comrades as they looked over a map of Tripoli. Civilian intelligence had suggested that the Japanese were in the perfect spot to steamroll past QPRA trenches, which had resorted to using hidden speakers to spew sounds of laughter during the periods of peace to make the Japanese assume that there were plenty of forces to defend against them. The QPAF patrols were producing high casualties for both sides, except the QPAF had an abundance of trained soldiers while the QPRA had simply had around a few thousand soldiers with many barely trained civilians.

As they discussed, the sound of fighting from outside the room could be heard. Suddenly, two soldiers ran into the room. "There's a mutiny!" one of them shouted as all the men armed themselves with pistols. "I will go first," Yohanatan said, confidently.

"What if they shoot you?" one of the soldiers said while getting in the way of Yohanatan. "Then let them! I trust in the loyalty of the people to ensure my survival!"

At this, the soldier stepped aside as Yohanatan opened the door to weapons aimed at him. Soldiers with balaclavas aimed their BH-183s at Yohanatan as their leader stepped forward.

"What is this?" Yohanatan said. The leader looked at him. "A Rebellion, for the people."

"You? For the people? You must be joking."

The rebellious leader's eyes lit up with immense ire! He slowly pointed his shaking index finger at him. "Shoot this... false shepherd of the people! This bourgeoisie!" Yohanatan simply looked at him with pity. He slowly walked forward, hiding his hands behind his back because they were shaking. He had butterflies in his stomach.

"Soldiers of the proletariat!" he said, confidently though he was scared, "Look at me! I am your Commander. I have suffered with you! I have starved with you! If you are true fighters of the proletariat, aim your weapons at that rebellious leader of 'yours'; and if you wish to shoot me and betray all the people and the ideals you fought for," he said as he opened his arms, "Here I am." The rebellious leader looked at him with more anger. "Fire!" he shouted to no following. As the soldiers stood idle, one of them fainted. The rest turned their weapons on the rebellious leader. "Kill that bourgeoisie," he said as he walked off. One of the soldiers immediately shot a bullet into the leader's head.

Suddenly, explosions were heard. They shook much of Tripoli. "Get down!" Yohanatan shouted. Everyone fell to the ground as the waves generated from the explosions reached the building. "I don't think that the building is damaged," one of his comrades said as they all slowly got up. Yohanatan immediately took a radio. "All troops near the site of those bombings, investigate."

Near the site of one of the explosions

Sergeant Nayem bin Shaniq walked with his men as they approached the trail of black smoke contrasting the light blue sky and white fluffy clouds. Not wishing to run into enemies unprepared, Sergeant Nayem ordered one of his men to head onto a rooftop to see what happened. "Sir!" said man shouted, "It's an Allanean fortress! Those Capitalist scumbags are leaving the fortresses." Nayem was surprised by this. He immediately got onto the radio.

"This is Sergeant Nayem of Jalid Squad, 2nd Tripolitan Proletariat Platoon: We have discovered the origin of the explosions have come from Allanean fortresses. They seem to be leaving." Others reported the same.

Much of the QPRA celebrated. Forces could now be re-assigned and now the QPRA would be in a much stronger position. Some of the QPRA commanders wanted to launch mortars at the Allaneans leaving, but Yohanatan would have none of it. He said that the Allaneans would probably send a deadly payback which would cripple the QPRA. Although the QRPA would not assault the Allaneans, they would issue a public letter. The streets of Tunis and Sfax were in celebration of the 'victory'. Although President Mahmoud was still under custody by the QPAF, the Deputy President - Hermann Yoseph De'Qaidi - was still not yet made the temporary President.

Outside of Derna, the Imperial Royal Guard was licking it's wounds, with reinforcements from the Imperial Army, another push was being planned, this time however, the Japanese planned to use a new weapon of war, a new tank one hearkening back to the old weapons of war utilised by the Imperial Japanese Military, with the Chinese now in the fight, troops of the Imperial Japanese Army were freed up to go to the frontlines while the Chinese held Al-Habanah. Outside of where the IJRG suffered it's most humiliating defeat for the first time ever in 100+ years, just over the horizon a large hulking beast of a machine approached the trenches sluggishly, a machine too large to be climbed however presenting a 360 degree defense with machine guns... And one large cannon, ancient looking from a distance however with the thickest armour possible for a tank and reactive armour ontop of that? It was a beast.

Outside of the town, the gun slowly turned towards the nearest large building infront of it, and fired a shot, the shot pierced through the building's supports and caused it to collapse on it's side into the street. After a few minutes the gun fired again at the building on it's side blocking the road, the shot went clean through and caused it to collapse into a pile of rubble that was traversable for this tank, the rubble slid into nearby trenches and buried men alive, immediately afterwards the Imperial Japanese Army let loose a barrage from hell with rocket artillery and conventional artillery. However the artillery shells that did drop dispersed sarin gas.

Elsewhere the Japanese pushed, such as in tripoli, the Imperial army utilised these new tanks as frontline vehicles supported by Type 10 MBTs and Type 90s, as well as these artillery strikes with chemical weapons. It was clear that Japan wouldn't take this humiliation lightly.

Derna

This new Japanese tank had shown itself to be a war machine. Many QPRA troops were killed as the tank's shots pierced through buildings.
Even RPGs fired at the tank were no use against the reactive armour. QPRA troops realised that they could rush the tank. Dozens of civilians were sent first, firing on the troops around the tank and jumping on top of it. The QRPA forces came next. The men hoped they would be able to destroy the tank.

Apologies to the OP, I've been quite busy.

The Type 10s in support of the hulking super heavy tank sprayed their machine guns into the crowd, backing up with the tank while rear line units used chemical artillery shells to attempt to disperse the large crowd with mustard gas while the IJA and IJRG supported from the cover of behind the Type 10s outside of the city with heavy machine gun fire from Type 62 machine guns and mainly Type 64 battle rifles while helicopter and air support had begun to show with rolling Napalm strikes, rocket barrages and machine gun fire. Any infront or to the side of the Japanese were gunned down mercilessly. It became clear to the Japanese they would have to cleanse the city of the communists the way Japan had done so with partisans in it's Western Pacific Territories. With fire, chemical warfare, and showing no quarter to it's foes.

The patience of the Shogunate was clearly at an end, with any and all standing against the Japanese shown no mercy, the Shogun's attack dog, General Kitagou Ayaka had been let loose of her last restrictions when it came to the civilian population. Now, one step out of line would be met brutally by the Imperial Japanese Army and now with the shame of their last defeat, the Imperial Royal Guard.
