Friends, when we said that the QPSR - in our own words - : ... we recommend not using force. The QPSR has the Tripoli Airport surrounded. If they wanted, they could take it over, round up the Austrians, torture them and leave their mangled bodies in the streets. President Mahmoud is extremely unpredictable.

We did not say that they would do it, we said they could do it. The response of Austria, which was declaring on the QPSR, was simply childish. Austrians, you are out of your minds. The QPSR is a powerful force with great support in Tripoli. We recommend that the Free Kingdom and the Japanese Empire encourage the QPSR not to act until the Austrians attack.

In response to the Japanese request, we will make compromises by allowing the Japanese to occupy the PGQ-controlled side of the port. However, we still insist on the reinstatement of the Joint-Administered Area between the PGQ and the QPSR.

Prime Minister Henry J.R.R. Jaeger had been quite busy in the past few months. Debating the Indigenous People's Party and so on. Elections would go down on the 15th of April after the Parliament of Krenorus voted to have an immediate election after scandals surrounding the Prime Minister of pardoning the two policemen who beat two adult Krenos (who are the indigenous people of Krenorus) to death along with a 15-year-old Kreno teen boy. This sparked riots in New London and a few other cities with two policemen being injured by Molotov Cocktails and 6 protesters being hospitalized.

The Prime Minister, knowing that he had lost the vote of most centrists and those who were centre-right, wanted to strengthen the vote of the large evangelical Christian community in Krenorus. He had done this by allowing the unregulated building of Churches and the establishment of government-funded Christian Missionaries. To put the nail in the coffin, he decided to start a programme where two hundred missionaries, along with any person who volunteers, would be sent to Qaidi to preach the gospel. They would be accompanied by 100 peacekeepers.

Their main focus: Al-Habanah and Tripoli. Preparations had already been made. Krenorus was ready to deploy. And so, on the 14th of December, they did. A record number of two thousand volunteers joined the mission to preach, while another one thousand joined the mission to defend those who preached. They got into ships, which were escorted by the HMKS New London and the HMKS Wilkommen.

It would take about a long time to reach Qaidi. They would reach it on the 4th of January. The ships approached the Al-Habanah dock, only to find it being blockaded by PGQ ships. They sent out a request:

The Imperial and Royal Minister for Foreign Affairs wishes to use this opportunity to clarify our missives delivered. The Imperial and Royal Monarchy considers the indiscriminate blockade of Al-Habana against the forces of the Great Empire of Japan an act of aggression vastly out of proportions to what a rational response would have been in regards to the original alleged "misunderstanding". This blockade must be removed and the relations between our partner and the State of Qaidi reset to a neutral level before we can even begin to discuss negotiations. On this point the Imperial and Royal Monarchy will not compromise. Our ultimatum stands and if the State of Qaidi does not announce its unconditional intention to withdraw the blockade within 24 hours we will initiate actions that will remove the blockade by force of arms, however regrettably the loss of life will be.
On the matter of the threats of violating the 1907 Hague Convention and the 1929 Geneva Convention on the Prisoners of War uttered by the State of Qaidi. Our position is clear: To even utter such threats speaks of such levels of barbarism that the entity uttering these threats, veiled in advisories or not, cannot be considered a rational actor. There are no words to be spoken to the hostis humani generis that are the communist barbarians in Tripoli, who on previous occasions amply demonstrated their willingness to demonstrate the depths of their depravity, other than the words that they understand, that of death, fire and destruction. The Imperial and Royal Monarchy will demonstrate the true meaning of these words to the communists barbarians occupying Tripoli, with the full might of our air, naval and land forces, should they even attempt to advance on Tripoli Airport.

Official Announcement from the Free Kingdom of Allanea

We are flabbergasted by the suggestion that the reaction of the government of the Holy Roman Empire is ‘childish’ in some way. The only people who are acting irresponsibly in this matter are the government of Qaidi, who are issuing what can only be perceived as veiled threats regarding the actions of the other factions in the country. The government of Qaidi is placing itself in an untenable position where it claims to have no control of the disparate factions on one hand, and on the other hand, it continuously makes menacing predictions regarding their actions, coming off less like a serious member of the international community, and more as a gang of mobsters who are trying to lean over a shopkeeper while saying ‘nice shop you have there, it is a shame if something were to happen to it’.

You have attempted to threaten our friends about how ostensibly the QPSR is mighty and strong and may inflict torture and violence on them. We will make it clear: the QPSR is neither mighty nor strong. Should there be any torture or maiming of prisoners of war, we will hunt QPSR members like we hunt hogs. You have beheld our performance in previous incidents, we recommend you do not continue testing Allanea’s patience and good will.

Moreover, on the matter of the blockade: you seem to believe a blockade is an alternative to war. This is foolishly ignorant. A blockade is, by the standards of conventional international law, an act of war. Continuing ‘blockades’ of whatever kind against nations with whom you claim to desire peace , in your situation, is a counterproductive and foolish policy. Please be aware that two carrier battlegroups of the Free Kingdom’s Navy are under way to the region, and our aircraft based in the Holy Roman Empire are currently being prepared for operations.

Let us remind you that the Free Kingdom of Allanea is not bound by any alliances of whatever kind with Qaidi. We have assisted you so far out of our good will, and out of our belief that promoting electoral government and the rule of law is, in the long run, conducive to Allanea’s national interest. But Allanea does not owe Qaidi anything.

Now, here are our positions on the matter:

1. The ultimatum posed by our friends in the Holy Roman Empire must be complied with in full.
2. You will provide the Free Kingdom full assistance in our investigation of the attack of our ambassador and the murder of our diplomatic security personnel, including, but not limited to, enabling Allanean and Japanese forces to secure the site of the assassination, sharing of police records, and freedom for an investigator team to travel through Qaidi.
3. The Free Kingdom will assist the armies of the Holy Roman Empire in their operations against the barbarians of the QPSR. This is not because of some belief that they have participated in the attack on our ambassador, but because of their continous tendency towards murderous, barbaric actions.
4. Once again, Grand Ambassador Peter Nizhinsky is responsible for communications with QPSR and the various Jihadist groups (such as the Sharia Coalition).

The Airport had been completely surrounded by PPP and QPRA soldiers, they had blocked off all exits and entrances. The commander of the QPRA forces demanded the Austrians surrender. It began to rain as more two APCs were placed to guard the main entrance to the airport. A squad of soldiers was sent into the Airport. One of the soldiers, Youseff al-Hamrir, an enlisted soldier, was confident that the Austrians would surrender. He was very relaxed. The squad, known as Liberator Squad, moved into the airport. Youseff motioned to his best friend since childhood, Ackbar al-Hisham. "Rainy, huh?" Youseff said with a sound of mischief in his voice. When they were young, when it rained, they would go around their town and would go up to no good, from playing soccer to throwing mud at passing RIMP vehicles. As such, the two boys - who had now grown into young men - were still mischievous. They drank cider and went to eat pork. They had been doing these things legally ever since the QPSR took control of the area. Both were non-practising Muslims.

"Yeah, it is quite rainy. Perfect to kill some Aussies," Ackbar said with a laugh. "Ackbar," Youseff said, "You're supposed to use the term Aussie for the Australians. These are Austrians."

Ackbar looked at Youseff. "You sure?"

"Yeah."

Before they could continue talking, their squad leader, Jamal Hisham al-Ramli, told them off. "Shut up you two, unless you want to be bullet meat." Both Ackbar and Youseff kept quiet. Bullet meat was a Qaidi expression used for those who were shot so much, they became a pile of mush. This originated from a story that a man was shot so many time by RIMP soldiers that he became mush. When a child found the dead body, it brought some of the man's body, which was all red and looked like meat back to his mother. The mother cooked it up and served it in her restaurant. Suprisingly, the RIMP soldier who shot the man bought the meat, which came in a sandwich. While he was eating the sandwich, he chocked on a bullet that was inside the meat and died.

The Sword and Shield of the Imperial and Royal Monarchy had been on standby alert, on call from the Britannians holding Tripoli Airport. And now, on this cold March morning the order actually came. The lead aircraft of the First Wing of the No. 1 Bomb Group got loaded with a weapon that was rarely, if never deployed. The absolutely massive behemoth of a bomb had required the overnight removal of the separators between the three bomb bays on the San Real B.Mk.1, and special reinforcement to enable the bomb bay to take the strain. At dawn this morning, the aircrew of the lead aircraft, designated with the callsign of Alfa 01 took their breakfast amidst their mission briefing and walked leisurely to their aircraft. Within 30 minutes they had started the engines, taxi'd out onto the longest runway Imperial and Royal Air Arm Station Budapest had, and ran at full afterburner down it, lifting off to form with Alfa 02 who had taken off ten minutes earlier to act as their escort and telemetry aircraft. The pair of heavy strategic bombers had transited over Pannonia, Dalmatia and the Adriatic at cruise speed, met with a flight of Nakajima J8N1's from the First Carrier Division of the Imperial Fusō Navy who took up responsibility to escort them into and out of their target area. Another boring thirty minutes of flight sustained at mach 1.8 later, Alfa 01 had arrived over Tripoli at 65,000 feet, far outside the envelope of any anti-aircraft gun known to man, thundering along at the upper reaches of the stratosphere at a blistering mach 2.5. At the given moment, the triple bomb bay doors concealing their weapon of the day opened, and the sixteen ton weapon, a GPS guided Bomb, High Capacity, 36000 fell from it, a terrifying weapon that was last combat dropped during the conflict against the Anti-Communist Alliance in Karenytenia was now in the long supersonic plunge towards the ground. The only warning of its approach would be the mushroom cloud forming above what was once the main approach road to Tripoli International Airport and the thunderclaps of two sonic booms coming long after the explosion.
As the lucky survivors picked themselves up in the aftermath, they would see leaflets falling all over the city of Tripoli. It stated simply in Arabic and English: "If you do not wish to suffer this fate evacuate the city immediately and lay down your arms. We will begin pounding military targets inside and outside the city around the clock starting today."
And as promised, Tornado GR.5's from Hochseestreitkräfte „Herzogin von Braunschweig und Lüneburg, Fürstin von Calenberg“ arrived at transsonic ultra low altitudes over the surroundings of Tripoli Airport, escorted up high by Talons and Raidens suppressing anything that looked like a threat with SPICE 250's. The Tornadoes bore no conventional bombs but a single long tank like object underneath their fuselages, as they came in over their target areas canisters were explosively ejected from the tanks and tens of thousands of objects landed with parachutes into the ground. The small can like objects were a combination of antitank and antimateriel mines designed for the Messerschmitt Mehrzweckwaffe-1. Thus in one run, the surrounding roads to Tripoli Airport had been turned into massive mine fields.

War was here, Qaidi wanted to intervene. They wanted the QPSR out of the city, it was now their chance. Three Qaidi Tupolev Tu-95s flew over Tripoli, they also dropped leaflets in Arabic and English saying:

"Lemonsky and the USSR are no longer here to defend you. If you wish to survive, leave the city and surrender. Otherwise, bombs shall drop every hour except for the following:

Salat al-fajr: dawn, before sunrise
Salat al-zuhr: midday, after the sun passes its highest
Salat al-'asr: the late part of the afternoon
Salat al-maghrib: just after sunset
Salat al-'isha: between sunset and midnight"

The Qaidi would not bomb during these times, for it was the call to prayer. No bombs or attacks would be made on the QPSR during that time. The Qaidi bombers would start bombing Tripoli the next day.

The reason for the PGQ declaring war on the QPSR was that rather than having the Japanese maybe take control of QPSR controlled territory, they wanted to take it for themselves. Not to mention, the PGQ wanted to strengthen ties with the Allaneans and the Austrians. To help with their plan, the Qaidi ships stopped blockading the Al-Habanah port. They also allowed Krenorussian ships to move in and dock.

Michiru Isumi, Vassal Retainer to the Shogun of the JPS and her secretary looked through reports sent to her desk before sending them to the Shogun, however one certain report got her attention it was a report from the Imperial Japanese Military's Intelligence Division, attached was a intercepted communique from the QPSR to "The Barbaric Imperialist Scum of Austria", quickly reading it over she found that one certain part would want to be seen. Getting up from her desk, she quickly made her way to the Shogun's office, sliding the doors open, Meiya sat already writing what Michiru could only assume were orders. Stepping into her office, the Vassal Retainer closed the doors behind her and approached the Shogun's desk holding the report out. "I apologise your Majesty, this just came from Intelligence." Michiru bowed her head while she held the report out for Meiya of whom looked up from writing and set her pen down before taking the paper. "Thank you, Vassal Retainer." Meiya looked over the report.... "Japanese Scum? Foreign Barbarians?" Meiya said to herself, a smile donning on her face. Michiru quietly turned to leave before Meiya stopped her. "Vassal Retainer. Stay. I will have something for you to send out immediately." Meiya put the report down and began typing on her computer, writing out a communique to the QPSR's leadership.

The Shoukaku, Flagship of the IJN's fleet in Qaidi had moved into position just off the coast with a number of destroyers, within the hour of it mooring anchor, Aircraft had begun taking off from it, these were aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy's Air Service. After a sufficient amount of intel was acquired via satellite, Japanese planes sortied, dropping Napalm in the streets where confirmed military checkpoints were, in support of Japan's Austrian allies. The QPSR had indeed wanted to see barbarism, Japan would be keen to show them what true barbarism looked like while IJRG teams inserted into Tripoli to attack key targets such as police stations, possible military targets and other targets deemed of importance by the Shogun. By 7:30 A.M., targets were firmly in the hands of Japanese forces with the flag of Japan hoisted atop the captured buildings and green flares popped to designate whether certain targets were captured or not. Those not captured were bombed to rubble.

Just as the reports of targets in Tripoli were flooding into the Imperial Japanese Military's local headquarters in the port of Al-Habanah, General Ayaka was to begin a campaign of her own, targets nearby were successfully identified to be under the control of the QPSR... And so when the clock struck 8:00, the guns of Japan's mightiest warships opened up once more, with their modified Type 3 shells, they fired over QPRA positions, while troops tried to hide... Only to be met with deadly shrapnel raining down on them from above while Japanese planes from two aircraft carriers still with the main fleet began to sortie, dropping Napalm and cluster bombs on QPRA positions, immediately afterwards Japanese troops and vehicles poured out of the port, attacking QPRA positions with large numbers never seen before used by any modern military, however at the forefront were tanks, and APCs of which kept fire up on QPRA forces until they were forced to capitulate... Then immediately executed by Japanese troops. Barbarism was the order of the day by the Shogun, however it would be restricted only towards QPRA, no civilians were to be caught up in the crossfire. Where there were civilians, Japan withdrew and waited before attacking. General Ayaka herself kept tabs on where the frontline was and how fast it was moving... Unsurprisingly to her, a battle hardened veteran of campaigns in Japan's Western North America territories, the frontline moved as if there was no one defending it at all. The QPRA weren't a fighting force. They were cowards. And they would die as such.

As the ships started to dock, bombs and gunfire could be heard. "What the fuck!" Sergeant Gerhard James van Persie shouted as Krenorussian warships aimed their guns at the port. Soldiers were the first to move into the port to secure an area for the civilian missionaries to come in. Soon enough, a suitable area was secured. (Free Reverend) Jean Alexis FS/O (First Son Of - as used by descendants of both Krenos of the Isvarri Tribe - along with the other native tribes of Krenorus - and some of those mixed with European blood) John, the head of the Krenorussian Free Church; Reverend Charles De'Xandra, head of the Organisation des Églises St Jacques and the head of the Reformist Christian Church of Krenorus; Pastor Jacob von Maur, the head of the Lutheran Church of Krenorus; Pastor Elijah Cohan, the Jewish head of Jewish Christians in Krenorus; Pastor Ailbeart Alastair Kimley, head of the Free Church of Scotland; Sir Charles Alexanders, head of the Free Church of Methodist Krenorussians; and finally, Archpastor (the highest rank in the Krenorussian Free-Anglican Church) George III Earnestson, the head (Archpastor) of the Krenorussian Free-Anglican Church, Premier Pastor to Prime Minister Jaeger, and Principle of the Krenorussian Association for Biblical Study.

All of them asked to meet with the Japanese commander in charge of the port.

The day had thus far seen Japanese success on all fronts, the JPS hadn't been a signatory of the Hague Convention and the Geneva Conventions, therefore not entirely bound to treatment of prisoners of war. However this didn't stop some troops from taking prisoners.. Though it just meant they'd be executed later, finally there was somewhat of a lull in the fighting so General Ayaka had decided on settling down to a quick breakfast when she had received a request from apparent missionaries from Krenorus asking to meet with the General, leaving her tent she went to where the missionary leaders were directed, with one IJRG fudai standing behind her she'd personally greet each leader before finally getting down to business, her grey skin and irs' would've obviously been seen as unusual to them... Or even possibly unholy but such a thing wasn't thought to much on in Japan. "Gentlemen. What may I ask is your business in Qaidi? And asking for a meeting with me? I'm currently in the process of planning a war on the orders of the Shogun."

General Ayaka sighed and held her chin... How would one explain... It wouldn't be so easy to convince Japanese soldiers to convert from their national religion, Shintoism... To Christianity? ...And not sound somewhat rude. That was the main issue. She was concerned with. "I see. ...Well I must tell you, if it is your intent to try and convert Japanese Army, Imperial Royal Guard, or Naval personnel to Christianity, you'll find it somewhat difficult. As I'm sure you're aware Shintoism has been the state religion of the Japanese Empire for the longest time. I myself am a worshipper of Shintoism.... Now that that's out of the way."

General Ayaka continued to listen to the missionaries of which voiced their concerns about the safety of missionaries in Qaidi. After they were finished, Ayaka started again. "The safety of missionaries, obviously when in Japanese controlled territory are guaranteed to be safe, while western nations abide by the... Restricting treaties of which have resulted in their own failure of eliminating threats to peace and safety of all, Japan doesn't abide by any such treaties. I can guarantee that the moment any terrorists attempt to harm your missionaries, they will quickly realize their mistake. I am not sure if you're aware but before I was transferred to handle the situation here, I was the... Supreme authority of Japanese forces in Western North America. My policies of retribution towards terrorists remain unchanged. As for conventional military forces of the QPRA, we're taking care of them, so rest assured there will be nothing to worry about. The Kempetai are slated to move into the immediate area around the port to act as rear security peacekeepers. So outside of the port, I'd ask you to direct your security concerns to them. The leaders looked around. They all nodded. "Yes, we are content. Krenorussian peacekeepers have come with us, they will escort missionaries through Al-Habanah. We are preparing to establish contact with the PGQ. Thank you for your kindness and curiosity."

The two Krenorussian soldiers who were dismissed came back to escort the leader out. "Boy, I really like these Chinese people," one of them said. Unlike the priests, a few Krenorussian soldiers were quite ignorant of the difference between the Japanese and the Chinese.

Meanwhile, a message was sent to the PGQ: "We request that Christian missionaries moving through PGQ territory will be granted safety."

Operation: High Kick

In martial arts, a high kick is considered the most challenging of the three types of kicks. Most people lack the strength and flexibility to simply swing their leg, in a single motion, like the closing arm of a mouse-trap, to smash the opponent’s head with their foot or hill. Sometimes months and months of training are required to perform properly. Once mastered, however, the high kick is often a fight-ending move.

In their rush to violence against each other, the various participants of the latest Mediterranean conflict had forgotten of the Allanean air force troops still parked on the Northern shores of that sea. Now that forgetfulness is again acting against them.

They are in action now – six strategic bombers, flying in a wide front towards the Northern African shore. Their massive turbofan engines emit a defiant roar as they conquer the distance with ease. From their stations in Europe, it is less than two hours of flight before they are approaching the Mediterranean cost – and, of course, as the enemy has perhaps forgotten from Allanea’s last visit, the Allaneans do not need to be flying over the desert sand to strike.

Three hundred kilometres away from the shore, the bomb bays open. Precision-guided missiles – long as snakes, twice as longer than a man is tall, are stored within revolver-like rotating launchers in the bombers’ extensive bellies.

They fall free from the planes, and woosh forward, towards targets that satellite intelligence had identified – QPRA barracks, depots, radar sites and ammo dumps. Six dozen missiles, descending towards the ground, coming low over the land, come down towards the targets.

Nobody is safe. Targets near the shore and deep within QPRA territory are attacked. If the Austrian attack had been a slap in the face to the QPRA in Qaidi, Allanea’s is a deep, reaching blow throughout the organizations entire depth.

It was another chilly day in the capitol city of the Grand Republic. Devonta City again was gripped with highs only in their 40's and lows all the way below freezing. The winter was mother natures way of getting even with human kind. The President hated cold weather and the winter. He always claimed it hired his sense of boredom and stress.

As the gray sky seen the sun rise over Devonta City; a emergency meeting was called by President Josiah Jones in response to the news of conflict in the war torn nation of Qaidi. It was just yesterday that his war room cabinet was called for a meeting over a incident between two IFC allies, regarding a illegal boarding and scuttling of a ship that resulted in civilian causalities.

The meetings attendees had been woken up by phone calls in the early morning hours. Sadly, they figured that the Devontan president had summoned them to his office for another meeting. It took two hours for all the attendees to arrive. President Josiah Jones was visibly stressed and his eyes looked heavy. The last day had been hectic for him and his staff, as Devonta attempted to settle down things in the IFC. The meetings participants set around the office in a circle, patiently waiting for the president to collect his notes and open the emergency meeting. The participants included the Vice-President, Senior Adviser, Public Relations Adviser, senior National Security Adviser, secretaries of five departments; being the Interior, State, Territorial Affairs, Defense, and Dept. of Homeland Security; also present was the Chiefs of Staffs of all five of the Devontan Armed Forces branches, and the Directors of the Devontan Intelligence Agency and Federal Police Bureau.

The president finally spoke. "Hello, ladies and gentlemen! I hope you had time to get some coffee. I hate to call this meeting, but as you may know, another crisis awaits Devonta's response. It seems fighting has broken out in the nation of Qaidi and the world is starting to take notice. Qaidi is in a strategic position. Their spot in the Mediterranean makes it crucial that they stay stabilized. If not I fear Devontan trade interest would be in danger and most importantly, Devontan lives. What do you believe Devonta's best course of action should be?".

Being that the State Department was the federal agency responsible for following the Qaidi crisis, Secretary of State Joseph Ivory was the first to speak.

"Sir, between the Remnant-New Roman Crisis and this one my office has been very busy. What we are hearing from sources in the provisional government is that fighting is starting to break out in the aftermath of the attack on an Allenean diplomat by rebel forces. Currently, four groups are in rebellion. The communist QPSR, the fascist National Alliance, the Islamist Sharia Council, and forces loyal to what the old Sultanate." Joseph paused and began again. "The QPSR are the most volatile at this point and have begun attacking foreign forces loosely supporting the provisional government in Al-Habanah and Tripoli. Early this morning, the QPSR declared war on open channels. Nations that have responded to this call to war have been Allenea, Austria, and the Japanese, all on the side of the provisional government. Although, its worth noting that the Victoresians have attacked the provisional government in Derna and share ideological ties with the communist."

The president gathered his thoughts before speaking again, "A war in Qaidi would defiantly put Devontan shipping in danger and I think it's paramount we protect the democratic government and side with the coalition lead by Allenea."

President Josiah's Senior Adviser Maria broke through, "Sir, I fully agree. It would be wise if we make a public statement announcing our support for the provisional government and denouncing those against it, especially the Victoresians and QPSR. I would tread lightly with the other factions, they might still want unity. The more allies the provisional government has, the better,"

The Secretary of State chimed in. "I agree. I also propose we send diplomatic communiques to all nations involved. They will want to know Devonta's motives in this conflict. Also, Devonta doesn't have formal diplomatic relations with Qaidi or any other nation involved. I'd suggest we send Charge de Affairs and military attaches to each nation involved."

Josiah looked at at the secretary and Maria before speaking. "I concur. That will be done. In the mean time I want Maria and you to compile me a list of the most suitable candidates for these jobs. Secondly, if we are to protect Qaidi we need to provide them with not only diplomatic support but military and economic. I'd like the Defense Secretary to explain the former, please?"

Secretary of Defense Chuck Bengal spoke. "On the Defense side of things, it looks like the provisional government is in a tricky situation with fighting in Al-Habanah and Derna. Despite this, from what we know from Qaidi intelligence, it seems they are holding quite fine. But they will need help against the Victoresians and QPSR." Chuck paused. "In response, I think we should send a strong message to all nations opposing the democratic government militarily. They must stop or face consequences. I have compiled a list of units that we can deploy to Qaidi to enforce such a threat and also supplement exiting coalition troops fighting. It should take our forces 7-8 days to fully deploy to Qaidi." Chuck handed a copy to the president.

Josiah spoke looked at the paper and spoke. "Thank you, Chuck. Before we commit I need to know if Devontan forces will be acting on good intelligence. What assets do we have in that department?"

Chuck answered. " "Naturally sir, I'll direct some of our military satellites to change orbit and began SIGINT, COMINT, and ELINT intelligence operations over Qaidi, coupled with drone surveillance. Like in most intelligence operations my department will work closely with Raymond and the DIA... with the mention of the Victorese, I'll also order our satellites to monitor their ports and satellites."

The president smiled. "That's all I needed to here, Chuck." The President looked at his Senior Adviser Maria. "I think it's time we work on a emergency resolution authorizing force in Qaidi. I want it back on my desk within the next few hours."

Maria started. "That can be done, sir. My sources on the assembly and senate floor both say we have the votes to get it passed."

The president quickly responded. "Thank you. I think this meeting is adjourned. Godspeed to all of you."

On behalf of the citizens of Devonta, its territories, and commonwealths I strongly CONDEMN the QPSR for their cowardly attacks and declaration of war on the free democratic state of Qaidi. The targeting of peace loving democratic Qaidis and foreign troops there to protect democracy is unforgivable. The QPSR's only goal is to undermind democracy and take Qaidi for themselves. Devonta will use whatever force necessary to stop this.

Factions outside the provisional government still have a chance to reconcile and hopefully realized conflict is not the answer. Devonta is willing to host any proposed talks of reconciliation. Any factions who began to operate against the provisional government and its allies will be decimated. Nations who support violent state actors like the QPSR still will be given a chance by the Devontan government. Devontan officially ask that QPSR aligned nations like Victores immediately cease their military operations against the provisional government or face full retaliation.

Finally, Devonta announces forces will be sent to Qaidi - with the coalition set up by Allenea - to defeat the forces of the QPSR.

Naval Base Cormac - Afrinaria - 1/04/18 - 1 PM

Upon receiving word of their deployment from the Devontan Department of Defense, an element of the 2nd Task Force/5th Fleet began to mobilize. Just hours before, they had been put on high alert by Devontan Naval Command, due to their proximity to Qaidi. At that time the ships, sailors, and marines of the naval task force were on routine naval exercises in the eastern Atlantic. The mobilization happened in tandem with the 5th Fleets submarine forces, who's normal base was Naval Base Longsdell back in the United States of Devonta. The 5th Submarine Force was one of two Submarine Forces in the Devontan Navy that did not have their own independent submarine bases; instead, they were based at their attached fleets home base. Luckily for the 5th Submarine Force, they were assigned to Naval Base Cormac temporarily for annual winter exercises. The submarines of the force were near the Canary Islands acting as OPFOR to the 2nd Task Force when they received orders that their peaceful overseas deployment had turned into a combat deployment. The submarines then quickly rendezvoused with the 2nd Task Force and sailed to Naval Base Cormac to refit.

The Devontan Navies only naval base in Africa became very busy after the order to deploy to Qaidi. The base - Cormac - had been leased to the Devontan Navy in 2016 by the African nation of Afrinaria. Under direction of Devontan Naval Command, the 2nd Task Force and 5th Submarine Force were given orders to deploy and set sail to Qaidi with in five hours. Despite this, it only took three hours for Devontan forces to fully mobilize and refit. The submarines of the Submarine Force were the first to leave the base, they would act as forward scouts and pickets for the naval task force.

The 5th Submarine Force consisted of two Nihonese designed Edo-class submarines and three more Nihonese designed X-Ray II-class submarines. Both classes, although Nihonese designed, were domestically produced in Devonta. The submarines were some of the silentest submarines in service of any navy and packed more then enough modern armament, consisting of torpedoes, cruise missiles, naval mines, and AshMs. Expertly designed by the Nihonese to easily evade and strike naval carrier groups of modern blue-water navies. Both were dedicated carrier killers but also excelled in anti-submarine warfare.

The 5th Submarine Force were not the only Submarine Forces being sent to Qaidi. An identical force of submarines from the 4th Submarine Force - stationed in the Pacific - were also ordered to deploy to Qaidi from Submarine Base Aries on the Devontan territory of Albert Island. This submarine force had over 7,000 kilometers to travel. To expatiate this, they were ordered to a fast speed of 30 knots till they reached the Gulf of Aden, where they would slow down to a much more stealthy 9 knots. This would take an estimated five days. The 4th would then take up assigned square grid positions in the Gulf of Aden, guarding the approaches to the Red Sea.

In comparison, the 5th Submarine Force only had about 3,400 kilometers to travel. Similar to the 4th Submarine Force, they were given orders to cruise at 30 knots till they reached the cape of Tunis, before slowing down to their typical stealth speed of 9 knots, where they would assume assigned square grid positions in and around Sicily and Malta. Hundreds of kilometers away from the heavy fighting in Tripoli and Derna. It would take an estimated three days to achieve this objective.

The entire 2nd Task Force/5th Fleet had not been deployed. Devontan admirals quickly chose an elements of the task force most suited for the mission. Around have the task force would leave Naval Base Cormac after the submarines. They had to make heist, with a 25 knot cruising speed to Gibraltar. It would take an estimated 2 days to reach their first objective. From there the element would break into two smaller elements. One would sail for the cape of Tunis, with three full brigades of Devontan Marines numbering 6,000. While, the other would set sail for Sicily. Like the submarine force, the task force aimed to stay hundreds of kilometers away from fighting in Qaidi. Devonta had to be careful not to inflame the fighting. The task forces sole Watson Class SIGINT Ship -USDS Thomas Edison - was equipped with satellite dazzling equipment to damage and blind any enemy satellites that decided to roam over the task force. Although, intelligence collected by the Devontan military allowed the task force to chart a path around any possible satellites by watching their orbit, which was quite easy.

Routine anti-submarine patrols would be carried out by MH-60Rs. Two E-2Ds would stay on routine combat air control 450 kilometers away from the fleet at all times. AWACS support was key due to its important recon role on the battlefield, Devonta naval doctrine never allowed ships to go in blind. One AWACS used active radar homing, while the other used passive homing. This was a strategy to detect possible enemy AWACS at any given time. Also, included in the combat air patrol were various flights of A18N0s, F/A-70s, and FQ-41As. All Devontan forces would add Qaidi and foreign forces fighting the QPSR to their IFF sensors to avoid any incidents of friendly fire.

Meanwhile...

Devontan RORSAT's and ELINT satellites of the Devontan Air Force and Navy started to conduct intelligence gathering operations in Qaidi. Covering large areas of land around Qaidi. Despite this, they focused operations around Tripoli, Derna, Al-Habanah, and Aswan. To supplement these operations, a squadron of 20 armed and stealthy Avenger Drones were sent to fly all over Qaidi at high distances of 25,000 to 30,000 ft. Their armament included an assortment of JDAMs and Hellfire Missiles, all internally placed as to keep the stealthy drones low profile. Also, 3 E-3s began around the clock AWACS coverage from the Muhammad Abdul Salah International Airport in the Kharkhan Isles territory.

Various different types of Devontan Air Force and Navy aircraft landed - with permission - in UDC controlled airbases in Alexandria, Cairo, and the Sinai. Fighter aircraft like the 5th generation A18N0 provided fast around the clock escort for much larger Devontan aircraft arriving in the country with heavy equipment and manpower. As these planes began to land, the Devontan Air Force tasked 5 EC-130s with conducting jamming and ELINT operations over Qaidi. The EW aircraft would specifically target radar and communications systems of QPSR and Sultanate forces. They utilized spot jamming on every major frequency, combined with barrage jamming to prevent the frequency hopping, as well as communication jamming, which would broadcast annoying noises on communication frequencies. To avoid detection each plane rotated their targets - ever so often - as to no unveil their locations.

Naval bases on the Devontan east coast suddenly became busier as three Logistics Groups from the Devontan Navies Navy Auxiliary Logistics Command (NALC) hastily loaded men and equipment into their logistics vessels for their long 9,000 kilometer journey to Qaidi. The journey would take 7-8 days. Despite there being faster routes, Devontan high command charted long courses along the European western coast to ensure safety by being over a thousand kilometers away from any fighting in Qaidi. Their destination was the port of Alexandria.

Two teams of the Devontan Air Forces elite Combat Air Control Group were some of the first Devontans to set foot on Qaidi soil. The 40 men were separated into teams of five and had been brought into Qaidi via special operations modified CV-22Bs, flying at ground hugging altitude to avoid radar detection. The teams quietly landed in UDC controlled areas near the border with Sultanate and QPSR controlled territory. They were tasked with moving into the territory and start collections intelligence on targets with in QPSR and Sultanate territory. They were armed with older but modified Russian Ak-47's and Ak-74's meant to help them blend in with local forces. Each team also brought in a Qaidi speaking interpreter from Qaidi intelligence with a small radio. The radioman would switch frequency every few hours to avoid detection. This was called frequency hoping. The bearded combat controlmen wore civilian desert garb over their digital desert camo and ballistic vest. For fast transport over the open desert, each team was deployed with dirt bikes.

Nonetheless, the General ordered the planes to fly back to SGFB Alert, to pick up more men and equipment for the operation. Brig.-Gen. Winston ordered the men to attention as the Sultan's guards walked closer, as well as the well dressed Qaidi in the white tuxedo.

"Sallam your Highness. It is a pleasure to be able to serve alongside your forces. Anyway, to the dirty work of war then." Winston turned to his men and yelled: "Follow the orders of the Guards and where to set up our firebase, don't get too comfortable as we will be heading out first chance we get!" The Black Watch cheered as they picked up their gear, prepared. Brig.-Gen. Winston turned back to the Regent and said, "My apologies your Highness."

The General got into the limo with the Regent and began to speak with him once the limo had begun to move: "Your Highness, I completely agree that the current state of Qaidi is frankly quite dire, but as most of the fighting is occurring in areas such as Tripoli and Al-Habanah, this opens up a lot of opportunities for your forces and mine to move north and reclaim Eastern Qaidi. Asyut, should be a major start to our campaign, being a little above 500 kilometres away, we could start striking at the UDC. All I need is for my leopards and hornets to arrive from St. George, and we could start of our campaign to liberate Qaidi with a strong step forward."

It is in all our interest for Qaidi to prosper and the UDC is the most equipped to do so. Devontan forces have landed and eastern Qaidi and forces are heading to the west via the Mediterranean. I mind you a peace exist between the UDC and Shogunate. Devonta and St. George should honor this peace. This same "peace" has been tested but not by forces of the Sultanate and UDC. The real forces behind the instability in Qaidi seem to be of the various rebel groups who terrorize and kill for their own personal gain, purposely testing peace by skirmishing. It is not to my knowledge that the Imperial Japanese Army, or Imperial Royal Guard possesses any prisoners of war, nor do I expect there to be any, given the commanding officer in charge of Imperial Japanese Military Forces in Qaidi has a... Poor reputation when it comes to prisoners of war, terrorists, and other criminals. Prisoners taken from the QPRA do not fall under the term Prisoners of War as the Japanese Empire does not recognise the QPSR as a legitimate organization or state, instead is recognised as a criminal/terrorist organization of which has committed multiple acts of violence against Imperial Japanese Military personnel in the past.

After Imperial Japanese Forces had managed to secure areas around Tripoli of vital importance to the QPSR, a landing force sent from the Imperial Homeland hit the shore of the beaches of Tripoli, Japanese troops swarmed the costal areas of the city, meeting resistence.. Of which was quickly burned out by Japanese modified Type-90 tanks, armed with flamethrowers. Japanese troops were known to be brutal in their style of Operation but this brutality was state sanctioned. The QPSR had declared all foreign parties in Qaidi to be no more than barbarians, then their troops would face barbarians. Wherever QPRA troops emerged, flamethrowers and heavy machine guns were brought into play. QPRA prisoners were lined up in the streets and shot, or bayoneted to death. Normally such brutality wasn't seen to be committed by Japanese troops clearly designated to be from China, Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, Vietnam, Far Eastern Russia, Or even North American Japanese Troops.. These were mainland Imperial Japanese forces. Unlike their compatriots, they were in the eyes of the Shogun the perfect warriors. The QPSR officially sealed it's fate when Mainland IJA forces were brought into the fight. However even with the brute force of the IJA's mainland drawn forces they were only able to secure the coastal areas while artillery and missile barrages from ships out to see moved further inland and the Imperial Japanese Naval Air Service began round the clock napalming of the area around the beach controlled by the Imperial Japanese Army.

The Regent Sultan, Malik Ismail al-Qadir, listened carefully to the words spoken by the Brigadier-General. After the general finished speaking, the Sultan said this: "Have you not heard? The Provisional Government are allied to Allanea and Austria, though there is quite a lot of tension between them now. Devonta is allied with the Provisional Government. Not to mention, we have a truce with them. What we should focus on is the Shariah Coalition. They are weak, with most of their forces focused in the north. I recommend sweeping through the Shariah Coalition and moving into QPSR territory, where we will take Tunis."

Malik now opened a small map showing Qaidi and pointed at Tunis. "We will take Tunis. Your forces and mine will cooperate to do this. It will also be very easy to take the centre of Qaidi from the QPSR. They are very weak there. The Coalitionists haven't made a move yet, I recommend we strike first. Troops are already in position. You should order your troops to focus on the Sharia Coalition border."

The Allanean attacks fell momentarily silent, but it was only a brief respite before the coming storm. Satellites passed overhead quietly, and, along the very edge of the troposphere, several drones rode. These were solar-powered drones, capable of remaining on station for days, their gossamer wings holding them aloft as they circled, quietly. They carried no weaponry, only an array of cameras and radars, not so much weaponry in themselves – harbingers, merely, of a future host to come.

Even now, the Allanean warships were crossing into the Mediterranean. Warnings, words of wisdom and counsel, diplomacy – these were now exhausted. The time for violence was now at hand. The blow was not landed, not quite yet – but the hand was raised up already.
