This is the sign-up thread for the Post-Cold War Roleplay. Here will be listed things such as alliances, people permitted into the roleplay as well as the rules for the roleplay.
Roleplay Rules:

No godmodding: The Roleplay takes place in a modern-day setting so no ridiculously overpowered weapons which aren't currently in use i.e. Orbital Bombardment Systems

No insane warmongering: Although some acts of aggression are tolerated the fact that the RP takes place in a modern-day setting implies that huge amounts of aggression, i.e. taking large chunks of the land of others,
is not tolerated. However, there are some contexts in which it will be tolerated such as wars between factions as that makes sense in context.

Don't do an Italy: By this I mean you can't just switch sides of the RP willy-nilly. Of course, you could do it slowly such as through civil wars, referenda etc but you cannot just switch factions for no reason as the RP will remain difficult to keep up with as well as boring.

The economic, military, industrial, political and social situations of your nation cannot change overnight. Of course, changes in these factors can be done progressively but by being done overnight what I refer to is the population of a nation going from say 30 million to 80 million in the space of a few posts to provide an example.

In order to prevent debates you cannot use the identities of any contemporary political figures, however, for the purposes of Roleplay, you can use images of contemporary political figures to represent people of your nation if you so wish.

In the RP you are free to form factions, however, when doing so it would be appreciated if you would telegram me with the details so I can add it to this page. I would also like to be telegrammed when new members join a faction purely so we can keep track of the Roleplay.

Development levels are used to refer to the state of a nation. High tier nations are nations with high economic and social development levels, real-life examples of these nations would be countries such as Japan, South Korea and most European nations.

Mid-tier nations are nations which are nearing the end of their development and currently undergoing urbanisation with some but not too many social problems. Real life examples of these would include nations such as Brazil, India and China.

Low-tier nations are nations which are extremely underdeveloped and face many internal social problems such as drought and famine. Real-life examples of these would include nations such as Afghanistan, South Sudan and the DRC.

Accepted. The RP is set in the general Post-Cold War Period so really anywhere between 1991 and the present day but I'd say around 2007 or so if you want a definite starting date.

So basically, the Cold War rp escalates to war, likely between my self and Zhopgrad, and the Western Alliance and Eastern Pact join. More and more democracies and communists join and it's a World War. Eventually, several countries fall. New ones rise and old powers like you, me, and Lemonsky have to rebuild.
