An Alliance Divided!

In an despicable move, special forces of the United Remnants of America raided a village in the nation of Al-Khalifiya, killing all of its residents. The villagers, including women and children, were massacred execution-style after being branded POWs by URA special forces personnel.

The news was eventually leaked to the media, causing an international outcry. The Imperial Republic of New Rome, in disgust, cried out against the URA, with protests taking place outside the Remnant Embassy in New Rome. In response to domestic pressure, the Imperial Senate has passed a trade embargo with the URA, preventing several items to be traded with the URA, chief among them being foodstuffs and agricultural products.

Remnant-New Roman trade relations have been historically important for the URA. With overpopulation being an issue, and domestic food production unable to feed a large segment of the population, this caused a reliance on imported food, especially from the IRNR. Trading with any other nation would financially cripple the Remnant. The New Roman embargo greatly limited the URA;s ability to feed its own people, causing a strain on the Remnant government. Rationing began, but this was only a temporary issue. Starvation had become a very real fear.

Amid impending food riots, the Remnant government is forced to make a snap decision: Begin targeting New Roman assets, both politically and militarily, in an effort to pressure the IRNR to lift the embargo.

This situation has polarized the International Freedom Coalition. Both the URA and IRNR are members of the IFC, so hostilities between the two have become a major issue. Despite talks in the IFC Council, the time for talking may soon be over as IFC members choose sides in the coming conflict...

This looks good. I'll have to catch up on the story. I should probably look into the IFC too. Let me post my ORBAT here. It's the total one, just so you can see I don't wank numbers and have half a mind for this. I haven't gotten involved though and that should change.

Hi Lainerbrook, first off, thank you for your interest in the IFC and this RP! You seem to know what you are doing, just glancing through the factbook you posted. However, after a quick talk with URA (the Co-Op), it was been decided that you are welcome to join the RP after you are accepted into the IFC. I hope you understand; with this RP being invite only, we only want members of the IFC, and some others that were invited individually to join.

But, I will talk to Shaz, our current PM, to take a look at your app, and try to get a decision fast-tracked!

So I woke up this morning, and now it's 11:30pm and I just got home to finish the day. I need to eat and I have a couple hours' worth of work to do, and then I'll get to working on that post.

I feel like shit for being so late on that post, which starts the depression self-fulfilling prophecy, but by God, I made that post.

It's now 2:15am. I think I'm going to crawl into a hole somewhere and sleep for 7 hours before I start another 13-hour day.
