SWEEPING NATIONALIST ELECTION VICTORY
With the Nationalists winning the Supreme Ijma elections by huge margins, the new President-Elect Burgat Alamardin has issued an executive order to suspend all border controls for outgoing foreign nationals. While the order can not overturn existing laws regarding emigration permanently, it does give citizens of other countries the ability to repatriate freely. Thousands of Diyaristani citizens are also seeking citizenship in foreign countries so they too can legally leave the country, though it is unknown if any other countries will accept citizenship applications from Diyaristani immigrants, or how many.
In the wake of the Communist Party's stunning collapse as an electoral force, the newly-official Ijma is entering into debate about changing the flag back to that of the former Republic. But that has not quieted fears of a possible coup. Although all foreign nationals are now being released from police detention under the executive order, there remains the fact that thousands of Diyaristani citizens are still being detained and interrogated by the police under the Foreign Surveillance Act without a hearing.
"I don't know if we have the authority to fully rein in the bureaucracy," the President-Elect was quoted as saying. "We hired Dura-Tek to guard the Supreme Ijma and Presidential Palace against possible acts of unlawful terrorism against the duly elected representatives of Diyara." Nationalist militias, meanwhile, are rumored to be training in secret for expected political violence. The party had no comment on whether the rumors were true.
In economic news, capital flight is expected to worsen in the short term. Investors took a little hope, however, upon seeing that Dura-Tek has become a notable exception to this trend. DTI has established numerous training centers for its PMC activity, although legally they have to train unarmed under the anti-militia bill, a law which the Nationalist-dominated legislature is expected to repeal. Meanwhile, Dura-Tek stocks are surging upward on the world market in expectation of making windfall profits off the growing security concerns in Diyaristan.continued on Page 1B

::::::: TELEBAREED DIYARA A.Ş.
FROM: Agreed Statement of the Supreme Ijma and Office of the President
TO: Free Kingdom Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Allanea), Brukean Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Security
We will gladly accept assistance from our allies in preserving the security of our democracy. Having all too much experience with violence at home, we will also help defeat the PRF in the Brukean homeland. Our people are weary of war, yet the last thing we want is a hostile Communist movement toppling an ally and endangering the victory we've just achieved at home.
We trust our allies in the Free Kingdom of Allanea greatly, and all necessary permissions to deploy counter-terrorism units will be granted.
