Well the modern battle field is dominated by technology, something you are lacking in. I suggest digging and waging a guerrilla campaign until you break the back of the enemy, then launch an offensive through the war-weary enemy. But as I said with your tech that would be risky.

Maybe you should talk to someone who has experience, and figure out a realistic armed force for your country based on it's size, economy, military spending, and culture. The notion that your whole country is militarized makes no sense in any way. How did you get a population of 1.2 billion without any means to produce food ever? how did you come across the few machineguns that you do have? How would you defend against a few missiles that could destroy legions of your soldier-citizens? Like I said, if you are actually looking for an RP, you should talk to someone who knows what they are doing, and figure out realistic numbers.

Yeah, Japan is was, an offensive machine, the yanks did the right thing and forced them onto the defensive, were they were no were near as competent.

Nowadays its reversed and Japan has little offensive capability, although they can defend quite well.
