When I mentioned units, I didn't mean just giving groups of soldiers a name. I mean a breakdown at least from the regiment or battalion level. Something like HHC + A Co, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment. Which you might still hopefully know the brigade (2-27 INF, 6th BDE). If the prior app wasn't experienced enough, yours needs work too.

You also forgot the extra 200 support staff you lopped in. Support staff counts in the 400. People act as if support units don't or can't fight. Why wouldn't they count in the 400 combat troops? Their title is literally 'combat service & support'. They aren't noncombatants.

This app also doesn't show a great understanding of unit operation. It sounds petty, but we're keeping to a standard. This way we can plan operations and make it more about strategy and long term tactics. We would want to know what unit we're talking to. It will affect the story. If my character calls up another on the radio, I want a system. If my commanding officer calls up as 'Clutch 6', I want another system back. Maybe they don't use the US Army format, but I want a format. Some understanding of how the military operates. A little detail like that won't be possible if other nations don't understand unit creation at a basic level. I see enough experienced military writers here to know we can all appreciate such detail.

The way to impress me will be for nations to incorporate their support into the unit level. I know everybody wants as many combat troops as possible. Units do not run without support. I feel like I've seen every type of platoon except a headquarters platoon. Running 8 anti-tank platoons isn't necessarily better. Well rounded companies will be more sustainable. Yes, there should likely also be at least 1 support company for a group of 400.

I don't want to sound like an ass, but these were the exact words of the OP: "Nope your application is completely fine. The 400 soldiers max only counts to ground forces like rifleman. Vehicles crews and medics are not counted into that number." to someone else so I'm a little confused about what counts as what. Nevertheless, I made a much more realistic improved application above.

Vehicle crews and medics count as troops. Putting 200 vague support staff into an ORBAT is below the standard. Period. We need to crack down on the number rule because people are slowly starting to sneak more troops in to the point of ridiculousness.

It's actually not just nations that have participated in the conference, but nations that have contributed to the RP for the start. It's meant for nations that have proven themselves as allies. If a nation just joined and posted in the conference, they probably wouldn't be eligible. This thread has been going on for over a year now.

So people just joining shouldn't expect to surge. They might still be able to join the offensive.

Thank you for your interest. I take it you've seen our thread? After looking over some of your posts, I think our thread may just be a little more advanced than what I've seen you write so far. For example, one sentence posts wouldn't be appropriate here. Quick posts about numbers, such as a nation moving thousands to the border in one sentence of an RP, no explanation or detail to it, are also not to standard. Your writing is good for more summarized RP like the Cold War thread I saw you in. Those kinds of threads are very fun and there's a time and place for less stringent writing.

All I'm saying is that the Ukraine thread is a detailed RP that almost requires advanced knowledge of military strategy and tactics. If you write a detailed post showing you can write more descriptive when you choose to, it will help you get in.

Up to now, the RP has been from the POV of the allied coalition in Ukraine. Before I stated that I only wanted to focus on that POV since I wanted to avoid conflict between other nations. But now I've decided to change that. Anyone wanting to RP as a separatist or Ukrainian militia will be able to from now on. There are restrictions to this though so the RP can move on.

If you RP as a separatist then you will not be able to bring in your nation to help out the separatists. We are not trying to start another war by bringing in other nations to fight the coalition. You will be limited to weapons that separatists have been documented using. This means using weapons and vehicles of the Soviet era, captured Ukrainian vehicles and weapons and sometimes some Russian supplied weapons. I'll put a list up later to give you an idea but you can look it up on sources like Wikipedia to get an idea of what to use. I know it sucks sometimes to RP a losing side but you'll have to do that here. You're fighting a coalition of nations alongside Ukrainian militia groups with very little support and resources. Now does this mean every battle you RP will be a loss? No. Not every war is fought with a perfect record. There will be losses among our side. If you want to include some victories in the separatist RP then let me know and I'll allow it. But remember that you're at a disadvantage and you won't be making any miracle turning points in the war. I'll put up an application for separatists soon so just tag this thread and I'll have the application up later.

If your RP as Ukrainian militia then you will be limited in similar ways as separatists are. You'll be limited to weapons you can use since you won't be supplied with newer weapons as the war progresses. The UNE can supply you with newer equipment such as body armor and NVG but don't expect things like weapons systems. Weapons will mostly be supplied to the Ukrainian military since we don't want weapons falling into militias. If you are fighting against separatists then expect to be matched in fighting capabilities as most support will be with the Ukrainian military. You'll have some support from the UNE but don't expect it all the time. I'll have an application for both sides soon.

Me? If so I personally have not made my own but I am involved in a few.

Joyea, we typically hold RP'ing to a higher standard in that there's at least a couple paragraphs of detail in a post. I looked through a couple of yours and it didn't seem that detailed. Do you have links to some RP's with a little more substance on your posts?

I'm not the best by any means but if you like at my post history, Vangaziland or Europa you will see some examples.
