BACKGROUND
After a series of violent riots instigated by violent anarchist groups such as ANTIFA, the Parliament has been swift in approving anti-anarchist legislation designed to snuff out this spark of rebellion against the government. Among other things, the legislation has banned the wearing of face coverings during public gatherings, it has given police sweeping powers to search and frisk random individuals for dangerous items during said gatherings and it has also banned symbols such as the provocative anarchist A symbol from public display. It also forbids individuals with criminal pasts related to violent offenses from attending said events, the latter of which required the addition of facial recognition software to the survrllience cameras that cover every street in Freiheit.
For two months, it seemed that the security establishment, empowered by these new laws, had driven the anarchist movement completely underground.
That was until a video anonymously uploaded to the Internet, depicting three men wearing identical red coats and Guy Fawkes mask with black flag armbands in the process of burning the flag of Volkmacht. The individuals threatened to attack any and all centres of the government unless the laws were repealed.
The government flatly denounced the video and labelled the participants as 'traitors'.
Three days later, the Chief of the Freiheit Police Department was gunned down by a masked individual. On the same day, a bomb ripped through the Stock Exchange at the moment the stock market was to open.
Preliminary investigations have suggested that the attacks are linked. These were the opening salvos of a open insurgency against the government.
