Republic of Qashistan - قستانستان جمهوريت
Official Communique - رسمي کمونيک
To Mr. Francisco Basilio, Prime Minister of Puerto Colijito:
Greetings,
I have received your letter with great interest and an open mind. I believe that our nations have much to exchange and much to learn from each other.
I am eager to establish a Qashistani embassy in Puerto Colijito, as well as negotiate a trade deal which will benefit both our nations. I am also willing to deploy a small contingent of soldiers to the DPRPC to assist in your conflict with the Republic of Chaquiluto, pending a mutual defense agreement. The Republic of Qashistan condemns those who would use chemical, biological, or radiological weapons on the field of battle, and will always support those peoples that struggle against their deployment. I must stress, however, that this military assistance would only arrive in the DPRPC after representatives of our two nations have negotiated diplomatic agreements.
The Foreign Minister, Mr. Ahmad Hosseini, is currently attending a conference in Landevarnik. I will thus be dispatching the Trade Minister, Mr. Qajeer Jamrud, with two diplomatic aides, as well as a military attache, Major Burki Kabilay, to the talks in Villa Delgado. It is my sincere hope and wish that this conference will result in the establishment of permanent friendly ties between our two nations.
Sincerely,
Zahir Ghilzai

OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE
From the Office of the President of the Supreme Soviet
Good day President Francisco Basilio,
Upon receipt of your diplomatic cable, the Commonwealth would like to accept your invitation for diplomatic talks. The Commonwealth herself has a long and storied history of struggle, and we applaud your nations’ efforts in enduring so much. We also understand your current plight, and regard any nation that would use such non-discriminate weapons so brazenly to be a threat not only in regional security, but world security as well.
As such, I will be delighted to send our Secretary of State, Alexander Nowak on our behalf to attend the diplomatic discussions. He will be in attendance with several aides, along with a military advisor from our Maritime Defense Force; Captain-lieutenant Ninel Ramius. Please afford them the same courtesy and hospitality as you would my person.
I hope for a peaceful and successful conclusion of these diplomatic talks and wish you and your people all the best.
Very Respectfully,

It had been a relatively slow day in the directorate. The Commonwealth and her allies were getting along amiably, with the slight exception of the Hopians. It seemed that several extremists arrested by an FSB sting operation had ties to the Hopian government-of which they denied. With that said, it was business as usual for Secretary of State Alexander Nowak until the diplomatic cable from Puerto Colijito arrived. Now he was sitting with several other members from the directorate, along with a couple select members from the SVR and KGB.
“Our most current analysis,” began KGB Colonel Yevgeny Prechov, “Is that the country is under threat from its southern neighbor-to include the threat of WMDs.”
“We can confirm that they were attacked recently by the ROC,” added the SVR agent to Prechov’s right. “Our projection is that PC is using this invitation to draw support for an imminent attack-perhaps even as a shield against further aggression.”
“What’re the possibilities of the ROC attacking during these diplomatic discussions?” Secretary Nowak asked.
“There’s no way to know,” Prechov replied with a shrug. “We have little intelligence on both nations, but if I was a betting man…” another shrug, “I’d put it at 40/60 they would still attack.”
Presidential Residence, Meridian City
President Mirokovich waved his Secretary of State into his office. It was an uncommon meeting, but then again, the message from Puerto Colijito was anything but common. He poured them both tea as they settled into one of the finely upholstered couches in the center.
“Proszce,” Nowak said as he took the offered tea. He looked over the president warily. “You wish to respond that we’ll send someone to Puerto Colijito, don’t you?” he asked.
President Mirokovich leaned back, taking a sip from his own cup before responding. “You know me too well, Alex,” he chuckled. He raised one hand, “And I appreciate the concerns you noted in the analysis,” he tapped his tablet, on which the drafted document in question was still displayed.
“So who will you send on this little-diplomatic experiment?” Nowak asked. “We have quite a few adventurous men and women in our ambassadors’ corps who would do well.”
“I know Alex, and know I’d happily ask them if I didn’t think it were so-sensitive,” Mirokovich replied. He saw his friends’ shoulders slump. “I know it asks a lot, but I think it would be best if you were to lead the diplomatic envoy,” he added.
Alexander Nowak looked down into his tea contemplatively. A lot of the concerns and the recommendation to ignore the diplomatic plea were his own thoughts and analysis. Then again, he was being personally asked…not tasked out as one of his ambassadors would be. He looked back up.
“I serve at the pleasure of the President and the People,” he replied. He took another sip of his tea. “Though I may need something stronger before wholeheartedly agreeing to this.”OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE

From: Grand Vizier Mahmut al-Zahir, Grand Vizier of Kyrenaia.
Subject: Welcome.
Dear Prime Minister,
on behalf of Razia Sultana Umm Albilad, Lady of the Five Deserts, Ilkhana of Utica, Daughter of Kyrenaia, Mother of Her People, Highest Servant of the Lioness, I would like to welcome Puerto Colijito on the international stage, even if it is during such troubled times. The times you are facing will pale in contrast with the times coming in your future, a time with friends and enemies.
With your permission, Prime Minister, I would like to initiate arrangements, so that the Sultanate of Kyrenaia and the Democratic People's Republic of Puerto Colijito can become acquaintances, maybe even friends.
To that end, again with your permission, I would like to make arrangements for the arrival of two guests for the dinner proposed by you, namely Prince Damir ibn-Razia as the head of the delegation, allowed to speak diplomatically, as well as his daughter, Princess Aurelia bint-Damir, as his company, allowed to listen diplomatically, as she is to learn by her father's example. They will have no security escort with them.
I hope to hear from you soon despite the atrocious acts committed by your enemy.
Signed,Mahmut al-Zahir,
Grand Vizier of Kyrenaia.

Mr. Mahmut al-Zahir,
It was a pleasure to read your response, and I humbly thank you for the kind words as Puerto Colijito enters the international stage during such morale-testing times for our nation.
I would love to engage in diplomatic relations with Kyrenai; more than that I sincerely share your desire for our nations to become friends as well. It will be a pleasure to welcome Prince Damir ibn-Razia and Princess Aurelia bint-Damir to the conference; as you have indicated a security detail will not be present, I would like to personally offer the services of our nation's Tactical Operations Squad to provide protection for the Prince and Princess. This is, however, pending your approval.
I look forward to our nations becoming great allies in the future!

Dear Prime Minister,
I thank you for the kind reply to my last letter, both from me and in the name of Prince Damir and Princess Aurelia. As I write this message, the two of them are making preparations to board their plane. Please allow me to spoiler a little bit for you with a small warning: The young Princess is as curious about the world as she is beautiful.
Both of them are very honoured by your offer to have the Tactical Operations Squad provide their security and both agree to that plan, but ask you to limit it to one soldier for each of them in order to not stress the ressources of Puerto Colijito too much in these times, which need every man and every woman in fighting shape to fight.
I hope for peace and prosperity between our peoples,Mahmut al-Zahir,

I understand the issues you must undergo with your Southern neighbor, and it saddens me that they are willing to attack a nation such as yours! As such, I am happy to attend the conference with your nation to protect it from foreign enemies. Our country will be glad to invest in yours, and I hope you reciprocate this feeling. I would like to first offer you an opportunity to open an embassy in Kyiv, using one of our many hotels in the area. Second, i would like to offer your nation a deal that will economically benefit my nation, and yours. Finally, of course, I would like to personally guarantee that your nation will receive the support of Yurizlansia during these troubled times. I will attend the conference personally, though I do have one request, is there an Orthodox Church located within your nation? And if not, would your customs officials allow me to bring in the items necessary for my personal church service? I hope you are able to accommodate these requests.

Snipers were perched on the roof as an additional precaution and local Villa Delgado provincial police had blocked off the street in anticipation of foreign diplomats' vehicles arriving.
Inside, a fully stocked buffet was readied and steaming as chefs stood waiting to serve guests; a complimentary bar had also been stocked. Prime Minister Francisco Basilio was dressed in his finest attire, a black suit he chose specifically for the occasion. He conversed with several of his aides as well as multiple other high-level government figures, including General Secretary of the People's Socialist Party of Puerto Colijito, Eligio Cayetano, Minister of Defense Cástor Barela, and Premier Alonso Gastón. A large solid oak conference table sat in the conference room, where placards had been placed indicating the seating of the guests. But all of that has passed, he was ready to make new friends, meet new people. He waited quietly for the conference to begin.
As the two Kyrenaians had entered, and thankfully had left the reporters behind, Aurelia caught sight of an old man, sitting all alone and munching on the buffet, having already moved to the conference area.
She vaguely recognized him, King Bohdan of Yurizlansia, if she was not completely mistaken - a wise man, much like Grand Vizier al-Zahir and Razia Sultana herself... or the deceased Amin Tawashi. Her heart went out to the old man, widowed and all alone...
"Go.", her father whispered into her ear as he waited for the hosts to greet them, smiling, "Learn from him, for the wisdom of age is in his voice."
"Thanks, Dad.", she whispered back - in private, in public, she would call him 'Father', formal and correct. She couldn't help but giving him a small peck on the cheek before she vanished, her father smiling to himself.
She calmed her nerves as she approached the old man, a smile on her lips, her eyes sparkling with intelligence. She looked forward to speaking with him, she remembered hearing about a few speeched he had given in the past, and she looked forward to meeting the King. Speaking, rhetoric, logical arguments and passion in speaking were important to the Kyrenaians and if there was a person to learn from here, she would do so.
The young Princess, sixteen years old, stopped a few steps away from the King and bowed her head deep in respect, both to his station and his age. "Good evening, King Bohdan.", she greeted with utmost respect, "And may the winds carry a cool breeze and water to the fair lands of Yurizlansia. Would You mind, Sir, if I were to have a seat here until the actual conference starts?"
