INTRODUCTION

Depot Kragtiden, located 5 miles south of Stuhlande

The Northern Multi-National Force (NMNF) is a joint military unit comprised of several member nations who choose to send detachments of troops to live and train alongside the Landevarnik armed forces. The primary purpose of the unit is to assist Landevarnik in training its armed forces.

The Landevarnik Home Guard, Coast Guard, and Expeditionary Command are seeking foreign nations to send their troops for a six-month or year-long tour to Depot Kragtiden, a small military base located approximately five miles south of the city of Stuhlånde, Landevarnik.

The NMNF is not a military alliance as such, but rather a sort of "foreign exchange" for militaries throughout the world to work together, share knowledge, engage in defense research, train in a unique environment and promote cooperation between friendly nations.

Because of its extreme northern location close to the sea, the NMNF is particularly suited to preparing foreign troops for arctic / subarctic warfare, mountain warfare, cold-weather survival, endurance training, special operations training, amphibious landings and naval interdiction.

NMNF FORCES AGREEMENT

- Foreign personnel are expected to bring their own uniforms, arms, equipment and ammunition that they wish to train with.

- At least one commanding officer (OF-1 equivalent or higher) must be present with each detachment, regardless of size.

- Basic dining and barracks facilities will be provided by Landevarnik forces. Food will also be provided. Foreign personnel with stringent cultural / dietary demands (to include vegetarianism) are strongly requested to bring their own provisions.

- Foreign troops will be allowed to leave the base and travel into the local area with the permission of their commanding officer. Personnel may visit local establishments of food and drink, and freely socialize with Landevarnik soldiers and civilians. Good behavior is expected at all times. Vandalism, extreme drunkenness, assault, harassment of locals will not be tolerated.

- Foreign troops stationed at Depot Kragtiden will recieve a small monthly stipend (pay) from the Landevarnik government. The stipend will be issued in local currency, and is designed to assist in paying for basic costs of food and entertainment off-base.

  • Enlisted personnel (OR-4 and below) will receive 500 kr ($50 USD) per month
  • NCOs (OR-5 to OR-9) will receive 750 kr ($75 USD) per month
  • Warrant Officers (WO-1 to WO-5) will receive 850 kr ($85 USD) per month
  • Commissioned Officers (OF-1 and above) will receive 1,000 kr ($100 USD) per month
- Foreign personnel serving in the NMNF will be expected to wear an approved dark blue beret and distinctive armband designating them as being assigned to the NMNF. These items will be worn at all times while in uniform.

- After six months with the NMNF, the Landevarnik armed forces will award an official medal to all foreign personnel serving, which may be worn with permission of their nation's military (shown below).

To: Command, Northern Multi-National Force.

Return Adress: General Ferris Taoiseach of the Tribe of Antrim, Marascal Point, Free Lands of the Selkie.
Sunday, 27th of August, 2017.

Dear Sir and/or Ma'am,
it is with greatest pride and deepest pleasure, that I hereby wish to inform the willingness of the SDF to send a mission to the Northern Multi-National Force, NMNF for short, dubbed the SDF-Detachment to the Northern Multi-National Force.
Following proceedings and deliberations of the Council of Elders, representing the Fifteen Tribes of the Selkie, initiated and held on recommendation of Miss Felicia Sciotóg of the Tribe of Monaghan, Deputy-Head of the Foreign Office, I was asked by the Elder Council to see to establishing such a mission, to learn and to teach friends. The mission, should you approve of it, will be led by Lieutenant Colonel Liam Reoiteoir of the Tribe of Wicklow, currently commanding officer of the III. Squadron, 2nd Dragan Regiment, being put at disposal for this task and accompanied by a group of officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the SDF-Army and the SDF-Navy.
Both the required form and a letter of recommendation are attached below.

On a second note, should the Northern Multi-National Force hold a large-scaled exercise, please do provide us with a message - we would be happy and willing to send an exercise force to test the acquired skills.

Signed,
Ferris Taoiseach of the Tribe of Antrim,
Supreme Command of the SDF.

Name of Nation:
The Free Lands of the Selkie.
Name of Detachment being sent to NMNF:
SDF-Detachment to the Northern Multi-National Force.
Length of Tour (6 or 12 mo.) :
    12 months.
Commanding Officer:
Lieutenant Colonel Liam Reoiteoir of the Tribe of Wicklow.
Number of Personnel:
    32.
Number of Officers:
    6.
Number of NCOs:
    10.
Number of Enlisted / Other Ranks:
    16.
Reason(s) for Joining NMNF:
To promote peace and cooperation between the Free Lands and Landevarnik and the detachments of other nations present, the Elder Council wishes to send a mission of the SDF to learn, to teach, to observe, to meet and to reach out. To that end, the SDF sends the SDF-Detachment to the Northern Multi-National Force. Defending Landevarnik in case of war or aiding in case of natural desaster is also an order.
Any cultural / dietary considerations to be aware of? :
As per custom of the SDF, the SDF-Detachment will have a small so called Animal Section with it, namely three Grey Wolves with their handlers (the latter of which are already included into the count). No concerns of the culinary kind are being had.

I, General Ferris Taoiseach of the Tribe of Antrim, Supreme Commander of the SDF, on recommendation of Lieutenant General Finn Niochan of the Tribe of Cork, and by my own observation, hereby unequivocally recommend Lieutenant Colonel Liam Reoiteoir of the Tribe of Wicklow (Commander, III./2 Dragan) as the Commanding of the SDF-Detachment to the Northern Multi-National Force.
Lieutenant Colonel Reoiteoir is an exceptional soldier with a service record speaking of his devotion to his duty and to the Lands he hails from, as well as to his values and the values of an Arcane Servant to Carman Fea, including Her Sacred Laws of the Fight. Having joined the SDF-Army in 2000, Lieutenant Colonel Reoiteoir rose through the ranks at a steady and good pace, being tasked with commanding the III./2 Dragan, or the III. Squadron, 2nd Dragan-Regiment, in Launceston at the Icy Shore, in 2016, where he proved to be a quick-witted, fast-thinking and daring commanding officer, true in his command and self-confident, but not overly so, as he knows, when to listen to the advice and knowledge of others. He is well-liked in his Squadron and amongst his peers.
Hailing from Launceston himself, the Lieutenant Colonel is used to the cold. Besides being fluent in Selkie, English and German, Lieutenant Colonel Reoiteoir is knowledgeable in warfare in snowy and cold areas, especially sub-arctic zones, but is curious to learn about how other nations and their militaries handle the unique requirements of the environment.

Besides being tasked with the SDF-Army component of the SDF-Detachment to the Northern Multi-National Force, Lieutenant Colonel Reoiteoir is also tasked with command of the detachment of the SDF-Navy.

Greetings and Salutations!

The Confederation is pleased to inform you that we will be honored to send a delegation to the Northern Multi-National Force. Attached is our form below.

Name of Nation: The Confederation of the New Visayan Islands
Name of Detachment being sent to NMNF: Delegation of the Visayan Confederation to the Northern Multi-National Force
Length of Tour (6 or 12 mo.) : 12 months
Commanding Officer: RADM Vicente Luis Ortega III, VCN
Number of Personnel (Max 50): 50

In times of war or calamity, they will also be available to assist.
Any cultural / dietary considerations to be aware of?: As per cultural norm, the weapons of a serviceman (or -woman) are treated as an integral part of the uniform; consequently, New Visayan personnel always carry whenever possible, sidearms where a rifle would be too unwieldy. Other than that, there are no concerns.

We await your swift response.

Sincerely,

MESSAGE [ROUTINE] - NMNF BULLETIN

Image
Operatives from the Landevarnik Expeditionary Command taking part in an exercise.

From the Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Mariya Tularssen.

With the August drawing to a close, I believe the Northern Multi-National Force has experienced an excellent first month. We currently have ten member nations making up our camp, and spirits could not be higher. The camaraderie and friendly competition between the nations is quite impressive, and rather heart-warming, even in our chilly climate.

This month has been a busy one for administration, with the camp being re-furbished and brought up to standards after many years of disuse. Fresh paint and new construction can be seen nearly everywhere one looks. The ultimate goal, of course, being top-notch facilities for our servicemen and women to train, work and relax in.

The focus of training so far has mainly been that of general combat operations, with a focus on unusual terrain, nighttime operations, and reconnaissance. We have seen great cooperation and teamwork from our member nations.

A large-scale exercise is in the near future, intent on ensuring our readiness to defend against threats of an unconventional nature. More details are likely to be disseminated to commanders in the coming days.

As always, stay proud, and stay sharp, Sentinels!

OOC: If you want pictures of your forces posted in a bulletin, telegram me the link and a sample caption so I know what I'm looking at. Images should be of a serious nature, consistent with the arctic / sub-arctic surroundings of the camp and of an appropriate size (similar to above).

Any cultural / dietary considerations to be aware of? : The Novayans wants a facility where they can use computers (to play games or use the internet) and conserve and recycle already-used consumer goods, trash and scraps so that they can create new toys and goods from said consumer goods, trash and scraps. Don't call them Nazis, since the Novayans - fascist and militaristic yet multicultural and lofty in ideals and morals - despised them because Nazism are xenophobic, racist, and imperialistic. Also, the Novayan volunteers - the Novayan Armed Forces is an all-volunteer military force - wants the cafeteria to include siomais, rise and lechon manoks (no prob, we can provide them).

2 September 2017

The Northern Multi-National Force looks forward to welcoming Lieutenant Jonathan Maxwell and the Novayan Joint Combined Arms Volunteer Unit.

A few notes to your proposals:

- There will be a small computer lab (approximately 25 computers) available for all member nations to utilize on base; however, these computers are reserved for brief periods of official / semi-official use (30 minutes maximum per day -- to include communication with friends and family, managing personal finances, etc.). Note that the internet on these computers is highly restricted and monitored to prevent unauthorized use. If your soldiers wish to play internet games, or have unrestricted access to the internet, they will have to utilize an off-base internet cafe, of which there are many in the local area. Note that most establishments of this type will charge a small fee (75 - 150 kr) for their services.

- Due to stringent hygiene standards, Novayan soldiers will not be permitted to collect or store trash, rubbish, waste, scraps, used goods or recycled materials in the barracks facilities. This policy is in place to ensure good order, maintain clean facilities and prevent the spread of disease. All waste products shall be disposed of in appropriate receptacles. There will be a small hobby / recreational shop for soldiers to use, to include tools and materials, should they wish to use these facilities to please their tinkering nature, instead.

- Exotic foodstuffs uncommon to Landevarnik should be imported through proper military channels and must be supplied by the requesting nation (i.e. you). We will be happy to stock all supplied foods in our dining hall. Should there be a complex or particular method of preparation regarding these food items, we request that you provide a member of your delegation to prepare it as such, to avoid us Landevarnikers from ruining your cuisine.

Thank you for your understanding on these points.
