OOC: Excluding you and others who have been reacting to attacks and responding to them, and being somewhat realistic (you're the Soviet Union so I think you'd be the exception, but nations that have larger armies than the USSR itself then it's a problem) (Our army is quite small but I think it's better to have a smaller realistic force, than an invincible one like the Liamese, pretty sure the Liamese should be annihilated at this point, we did corner them at one point and bombarded their forces on foot)

that would be quite inaccurate since my invading army was 50,000 and the only campaigns against the soldiers consisted of around 10,000 men attacking separately and aerial attacks that would have been shot down because of other planes in the region. Do not also forget about our closing wall tactic that allowed us to make it a war on two fronts. My army isn't invincible because we lost the invasion of Brisbane but your armies were preoccupied with attacking the French, not expecting another closing wall tactic. This caused Soviet troops stationed in barricades to be crushed while we sustained heavy losses as well. Not to mention, the Western Australian army was made up of people loyal to the fascist regime making the invasion of Perth very easy because only lightly armed rebels were fighting in the area while the old army would probably feel sympathetic to our cause instead of serving the new government automatically.

OOC- most of my army hated the fascist regime, they were just forced into military service. There's not many soldiers loyal to the old fascist government. I probably should have said that earlier.

That wouldn't stop the tactic from working especially when your army immediately tried to fight the fascist rebels on one side and us on the other, your troops would have either died by attrition or bullets.

We may not like communists as a Empire but we are currently fighting fascists are self we will take refuges,send aid (including small arms,money,medical equipment, support equipment and armored vehicles) and food. One of our region-mates, Arab North Africa, is conducting military training exercises in the Sahara desert. This will greatly improve performance of your troops and fighter jets in the desert of Australia, and in future conflicts. Air Forces can participate in bombing exercises, and ground troops can participate in desert combat training, led by elite Australian and Arabian troops. To participate, send a telegram to Arthropol, leader of the FUS, who will reply. Please send your troops by plane to Reggane Airport (ICAO: DAAN). Any air forces willing to participate can send its fighter jets/bombers/refuelling jets to Tindouf Airport (ICAO: DAOF). Arab North Africa will also be showcasing their new Mokrani Fighter Jets, where if you mention you are allied with the USSNA in this war, you will receive a big discount. The USSNA strongly recommends using currently non-deployed troops for this training, and later switching them out with the currently deployed troops, so the fascists don't have it easier.

Battle of Argyle Lake

The USSU Expeditionary force had traveled continuously for more than 24 hours before reaching the Argyle sector. Their plan (Operation Swan) was to seize the Argyle lake sector and nearby settlements. The men are lead by Sergeant Klaus Weiss. Under orders from Marshall Yegor and the High Command, his men were to liberate the Kununurra settlement. This was of vital importance, as it has a airbase which the army planned to use to bring air support over Darwin.

The Liamese defenders had kept only a squadron to defend the settlement. The rest of the force was defending various roads leading to to the lake and to Darwin itself.

The Leamese defenders were 8000 men in total (infantry mostly), whereas the USSU Expeditionary Force was 15,000 strong. They also had tanks with them.

The Battle of Lake Argyle began when one of the two tank divisions, started to fire on the fascist defenders in Kununurra. The town was soon overran by USSU. People celebrated as the tanks rolled through to join their comrades further north.

Meanwhile, the Liamese dispatched one of its divisions to guard the flank of Waint border. To further right, the two infantry divisions of USSU were pushing to gain supremacy in the area. One of them crossed the Ord River using still intact bridges, and risked the Liamese flank. However, there was no success.

The infantry division in center started to board on their pre-made flotillas to try and cross the lake.

The tank divisions completely routed the left flank of the fascist defenders by midday. On the right too, reinforced by another infantry division, USSU tried to attack the right flank. This time it worked.

Being surrounded by both sides, the Liamese troops surrendered when the troops crossing the lake landed in the rear. Althrough the majority of the force fled to rejoin further north.

Lake Argyle was in the communist hands.
Residents living in the region clapped and celebrated as the troops shared food and water with them. The army began working on the airbase.
Their next stop was Darwin.

and this afternoon the was a bombing by a man named hanz and he killed 7 civilians and 4 Gef Soldiers. and when the police raided his house they found that he had supported the fascist rebels in USSNA and was recruited by them and was told "prove to us that you are worthy" jut 1 hour before the bombing.

The Prime Minister Alard of Arthropol was greeted by a water cannon upon arrival at Tsinchung Prime Minister Margaret Yeung International Airport, and was escorted by a convoy of several military vehicles as well as a motorcade, directly towards the National Parliament, as this meeting was quite urgent and needed to resolve the matter of Chuying's involvement in the war in Australia. Soon they arrived, and Prime Minister Margaret Yeung awaited them, greeting her Arthropolian counterpart as he stepped out of the vehicle, and the Parliamentary Guards stood in rows along the path, ensuring that security was at it's highest during this emergency meeting.

"Prime Minister Alard, I trust that your journey here was uneventful, however we did not plan this as a invitation to tea, so I will get immediately to the point. We understand that your Parliament has voted against ending military action with an overwhelming majority, however in Chuying, we still are unable to get any sort of majority over this matter, the Parliament has maintained it's position on neutrality and only providing aid, however we both know that this will not go well if we continue on this path, every aid mission and team we send, one way or another gets attacked or provoked by the enemy, at some point this crisis has to end, but it seems to be escalating every day, and our nation will pay the price for it's neutrality if we continue on this path, but our democracy is at risk if we do not respect the wishes of Parliament. However, at what point do we sacrifice our safety and that of our people, for the sake of pacifism? The only way we can maintain a strong defense is with a strong offense, I fear that the day is soon approaching, where we will pay the ultimate price for our pacifism, our inaction, and inability to effectively govern our nation's domestic and foreign affairs." "GET DOWN NOW!" The guards shoving the two behind a table and knocking it in front of them as the National Parliament lit up in a fiery explosion, engulfing the hall they were just about to enter, screams and cries being heard as the building exploded two more times, the ceiling shaking as parts of the building began to collapse unto itself, the guards quickly grabbing the two leaders and running out of the building as it exploded a final time, destroying all that had been built over the past hundred years in a few mere seconds.

General Bakari, commander of the Oflandian Peacekeeping Force, stared at his map, troubled. The OPF was in a bad position. After the successful operation against the French forces a short time ago, morale had been high. The arrival of massive reinforcements had made it even higher. But the resulting inactivity, the lack of supplies, and the constant bombardment by the French had quickly turned the situation around.

To the west, the French. They would not be caught unawares the second time, so a repeat of the last operation was impossible. To the north, the Liamese. They were 40,000 strong, so attacking them would be suicide. But staying where they were would just mean a slow death by attrition. What was to be done. Suddenly the door burst open, and his secretary Amina burst in. "Knock, Amina" he snapped.
"Sorry sir" she replied, "but it's important."

"In he north sir, there's been a massive attack by the Uswarians, against the Liamese. They've made big progress."
A smile erupted across Bakari's face. "Tell Aboyomi to ready the troops. We're going north."

1700 additional Gwiazdian Liberation army soldiers had just landed on the shores of Australia when the news of the Uswarian victory reached the camp. The grand commander of the army carefully studied the map. Recent Intel suggested a massive troop movement by the enemy in an attack to flank the Liamese army. If the Liamese were to fall then, the communist armies could regroup forces and attack the French. The commander quickly issued an attack order to his men. The Oflandian Peacekeeping Force outnumbered the Gwiazdians however, it was necessary to buy the Liamese more time. All troops quickly wrote their wills and last minute letters to their families back at home. The Gwiazdians would experience their first major military engagment in the Australian civil war. The Gwiazdians knew that it would be impossible to cripple much less destroy the enemy army. However, I could block its path to Liamese troops. If the Gwiazdians could inflict enough casualties then, the Oflandians might find this attack too costly. It was risky however, it was surely necessary. The 2000 Gwiazdians armed with military issued rocket launchers, anti-tank and air guns, explosives and machine guns marched into the path of the enemy soldiers.

Yesterday, following the arrival of Prime Minister Alard and the beginning of a session between Arthropol and Chuying to discuss the war in Australia, the National Parlimanent was bombed, and over 65 have been killed and 19 gravely injured, primarily the Members of Parliament and other staff present in the meeting hall, where the initial bomb had been directly placed, and several other explosions were reported from other sides of the building, causing the entire building as a whole to collapse, only a few survived, including the two Prime Ministers, whom had not been in the Parliament Hall at the time of the explosion, and were still enroute.

The culprit of this terrorist attack has not been yet identified, however many speculate that due to the timing of this attack, that this is linked to the fascist rebels and allies in Australia, as this meeting could have persuaded the National Parliament to review their decision, and perhaps allow Chuying to send a military force to aid their allies and the aid missions that the government has permitted to be sent to Australia. "I believe, that this was obviously done by the rebels, to scare us into no longer being involved, however this has only angered myself, the members of parliament, and perhaps our entire nation. The rebels have made a terrible mistake, if they think we will not take action against their threats! I call upon my allied MPs of the National Conservative Alliance, and of all parties dedicated to our cause, to call for an election for a new Prime Minister, a new Parliament, in these dark times our nation needs a stronger leader, one who will fight for our nation and defend it from these attacks! I am not making unreasonable demands, our nation NEEDS one immediately, in order for us to be able to aid our allies, and ensure that we don't cower in the face of fear." A conservative MP answered to our reporter, when she asked, "What will the government do in response to this crisis? Is there any culprit identified?" outside of the hospital this morning, accompanied by several staff, whom forced him to return immediately, as he had attempted to leave despite his injuries still being severe and needing treatment.

Despite this attack, the National Parliament still has about 16 MPs in place, whom are in the process of organizing a snap election, a few months ahead of schedule, which is being planned to be held in the next 2 to 3 weeks, with 1 day of silence for the victims of this attack. The Parliament has moved to a temporary building across from the former one, until repairs have been made and a new building has been complete. I agree. Even if you country isn't vulnerable, it's no fun if you just send massive armies no one else can top. How are you even supplying that army?! Please go back to 40,000, that was reasonable.
