Civil War in Northern Australia (IC/MT/Open)

[Oflandia]

The Oflandian Peacekeeping Force of 10,000 launches its first major operation of the war. The OPF launches a concentrated sneak attack on the French forces bombarding Brisbane. The French were not expecting this attack, so the OPF is briefly able to open a supply line into Brisbane. For the next few ours, the OPF sends supplies of food, medicine and water in, and brings large amounts of refugees out. After a few hours, the vastly superior French force closes the road, but the OPF has done its job.

An Oflandian aircraft arrives, taking as many refugees as possible, before heading back to Oflandia.

A few days later, Oflandia announces it will take any Australian refugees. Due to the high losses during the operation, Congress begins debating whether to sent reinforcements.

[The Liamese Empire]

For whatever reason, Liamese troops faced no resistance when moving north, east, and west. As of now, Australia is as good as gone with the west being almost completely occupied and the North of North Australia being under Liamese control. Soldiers from the Darwin invasion are ordered to watch the coast while those from the rebel territory and coast are told to move south towards the only remaining major city in all of the warring Australias... Brisbane. The Emperor orders a meeting between the old Western Australian government and the Liamese be held in Perth. The Emperor said today "We will not leave without unconditional surrender from the Western Australians. I promise you though, you will not be annexed." It is time for the Socialist sympathisers to leave the continent before all sides loose more lives! It's time to stop! End this war before hundreds of civilians in Brisbane die!

[Napoleonic Europa]

Radio contact was made. The French pilot judged his options.
"Sir I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to redirect your course to Paris to check your cargo. I will escort you there. If you would prefer we may land in the army camp outside of Brisbane and I am sure we could make some kind of arrangement to treat the wounded you claim are on board. We may also have cargo checked there. If you continue on your current route I will have no choice but to assume you're hiding something."

"I apologize, but I would like to know on who's authority are you detaining us? Our aircraft does not have enough fuel to fly to Paris and we absolutely cannot risk the lives of the passengers on board, so I plead that you allow us to continue." While the two pilots were occupied in an argument, the remaining 14 fighters that survived the initial flight out of Brisbane, remaining further away to prevent raising suspicion that the aircraft was involved in something, quickly made their way towards the French jet behind the airliner, and began to fly around it, shooting at the jet's engines and cockpit aggressively as they flew by, to prevent accidentally hitting the airliner, with one aircraft flying straight into it's path, on a collision course to destroy both the French jet and itself.

"By order of my superiors. Now please choose to fly to Paris or back to treat the wounded. I will be forced to take acti-" Bullets whizzed by and the pilot attempted evasive maneuvers, going down. "You try to be nice and.. and give them option they try to fucking kill you..." he muttered. Now he was tense. He didn't know how many fighters were after him but he knew he needed to get out of there. Everything seemed to be slowed down as he made his evasive descent. Everything seemed to be so slow. Until his tail wing was hit by another aircraft. His aircraft began to spin from the impact but steadied itself. The wing was clipped off and he was beginning to fall. The tail itself went into the cockpit of the aircraft that hit it. Now he was simply making an attempt to land his fighter in the water, giving up all hope on returning. If it was too much he could always parachute.

Meanwhile from Versailles a demand was sent to the North Australian government. It read that capitulation was necessary for the sake of civilian lives. The rest of Australia had been cut up by Liamese forces and Brisbane was, although briefly interrupted by Oflandian Peacekeeping forces, blockaded. The removal of the socialist regime and restoration of Australia to a new form of government is the best option for the people of Australia.

OOC- Shoot an air to air missile at the fighter, its closer than the 747, while having the others bank. And 14 stealth escorts is way overkill. Even AF1 uses 2 escorts i think

OOC- no resistance? there were still like 200,000 forces in the western part of USSNA, we never ordered ours back, nor any of my region members or others to my knowledge. We just conscripted more for Brisbane. The western australian fascist government is dead remember? And New Democratic Australia never got attacked according to all the posts i've read

Yegor has set up his HQ in the village they recently captured. It was one of the two manor houses in the village. In the planning room, he was looking at a map of Australia, divided according to the territories occupied. He had been reinforced recently with another 10,000 men, air dropped and carried by ships, from a USSU controlled Pacific island.
He was tracing his finger on the map when a private asked permission to enter.
Getting the permission he enters and hands Yegor a paper. Yegor looks at it and his expression changes.

"Darwin fell to the Liamese, sir" The private said.
"Hmm"
"The French are besieging Brisbane"
Yegor nodded and then took a look at the map. He proceeded to pick up a file from his table and go through its contents.
"The Liamese either wanna reinforce the French or march to Brisbane themselves. In that case" He tapped the table "The concentration around Darwin might loosen up"
"Sir!"
"Call a meeting right now" Yegor commanded.
"Yes sir!"

In the meeting, the Marshal gave order to merge Force-I and Force-D and move to liberate Darwin. The plan was to seize Lake Argyle. The city nearby had a working airfield which would be thereby used to bomb Darwin.
Thus having received the order, the forces began to march.

Congress has voted to send an extra 15,000 men to reinforce the Oflandian Peacekeeping Force, bringing its numbers up to 23,000. Oflandia will also sent 500 Fighter Planes and a Fleet of 5 subs, 12 Destroyers and a Missile Cruiser.

OOC: Excluding you and others who have been reacting to attacks and responding to them, and being somewhat realistic (you're the Soviet Union so I think you'd be the exception, but nations that have larger armies than the USSR itself then it's a problem) (Our army is quite small but I think it's better to have a smaller realistic force, than an invincible one like the Liamese, pretty sure the Liamese should be annihilated at this point, we did corner them at one point and bombarded their forces on foot)

Prime Minister Margaret Yeung International Airport, Tsinchung District, Chuying

The Chuying Airlines 747-400 declared an emergency landing as it began to approach the airport due to the severely injured aboard and the loss of two engines due to the sudden manuevers it had to make to avoid fire upon departure of Brisbane, the escort fighters splitting off towards the Air Force Base for repairs and debriefing, fire trucks and ambulances leaving the terminal building and towards the remote stand the 747 had been directed to. The aircraft descended, and hurriedly taxied to the stand, opening all of it's doors to remove all the injured first, and the other passengers have been directed to remain calm, as the authorities plan on what to do about the situation.

Meanwhile at the Air Force Base, the pilots reported to debriefing, to discuss what had happened in their escort mission, with their superiors. They were surprised to see that however, the Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs were all there in the room, awaiting their arrival. "On behalf of the government, i'd like to thank you all for risking your lives to protect that airliner, without your help, the hundreds of refugees would not have made it out of Brisbane alive." Prime Minister Margaret Yeung spoke up, bowing her head to show her gratitude, a custom of Chuying. "Thank you, Prime Minister, however we regret to inform that Atkinson, Chadwick, and Leung did not survive, their sacrifice allowed us to shoot down the pursuing French jet, and protect the 747. We tried to inform the pilot that the 747 meant no harm and had injured onboard, but he kept demanding us to return to the ravaged Brisbane, or be taken to Paris as prisoners of war and to be kept there until it ended." Squadron Leader Rahman replied in a distant tone, angered that the Frenchman had given them no choice but to engage in combat, or otherwise be captured. "But it hasn't been in vain, all of our soldiers and pilots went there to protect our allies and our nation, because of them, we have saved countless lives. We will be giving all of our fallen the highest honors and compensation to their families for their service." the Defense Minister replied, and the three all bowed their heads once more, thanking them. "But what shall we do with the refugees? We've brought about 300 aboard that 747." Rahman added, the Foreign Minister stepping forward to address them. "Do not worry about them, we will allow them to remain in Chuying until the war is over, and we have contacted our allies to assist if necessary. Once again, we thank you all for your service." The trio then walked out of the room, back to the Parliament to discuss further on the war.

that would be quite inaccurate since my invading army was 50,000 and the only campaigns against the soldiers consisted of around 10,000 men attacking separately and aerial attacks that would have been shot down because of other planes in the region. Do not also forget about our closing wall tactic that allowed us to make it a war on two fronts. My army isn't invincible because we lost the invasion of Brisbane but your armies were preoccupied with attacking the French, not expecting another closing wall tactic. This caused Soviet troops stationed in barricades to be crushed while we sustained heavy losses as well. Not to mention, the Western Australian army was made up of people loyal to the fascist regime making the invasion of Perth very easy because only lightly armed rebels were fighting in the area while the old army would probably feel sympathetic to our cause instead of serving the new government automatically.

Anti-communist posters can be seen all over the walls of the Parliament building with several pro-war demonstrations being held across the nation. Military intervention in the war had been advocated by the Nationalist Party since Day 1 however the official declaration of war proposed by the President has been voted down with the results of 90 yes :110 no.

Several members of the civilian populace feeling frustrated, have decided to create their own private army to go fight in Australia. Calling themselves the Gwiazdian Liberation Army; the military force of 300 have been deployed into the fairly undefended areas surrounding liberated Perth. The leaders have issued a message to the Gwiazdian people: "We urge the Gwiazdian government to take action not just for Gwiazdians but for the oppressed Australians as well. We shall return home either with the enemy's flag or draped in our own. Cinis cinerem!". A total of 300 soldiers armed with standard military grade weapons along with an Imperial Gwiazdian destroyer has been sent into enemy territory. The government issued a statement involving the controversial deployment of the Gwiazdian destroyer: "The destroyer is not being deployed to fight the war but to maintain peace and stability in the region". The President has refused to give any further comments on this issue.
