In the months following the war, as election season approaches it's close, and a parliament will be formed, the scientists at Project Mystírion, a top secret research institute dedicated to finding out the mysteries of the universe, while maintain a secrecy comparable to that of the histpric Project Manhattan; there are unsubstantiated rumors, but no one knows what goes on inside. Their secrecy is to such an extent the majority of the people working on the project knows not what they are working on.

---

Deep underground, in the depths of Project Mystírion, a group of middle aged and elderly physicists looked with intense anticipation at an empty jar. The mood in the jet black, sealed room was tense. The counter on the wall counted down to zero. Suddenly, there was a flash of flame in the middle of the jar, and an owl feather fell calmly onto the bottom.

The room burst into deafening cheers and applause. "WE DID IT!" A redhead physicist exclaimed. "IT WORKED!" The lead scientist shouted.

The assistant android physicist, who had been applauding loudly and cheering in the corner came to examine the jar, and confirmed that it was a genuine teleported owl feather, then proceeded to cheer.

As the applause and shouting cleared, the lead physicist, a rumple haired, freckled, bespectacled man with hair that blended smoothly with the wall, called Robert Purpra said to the radio "alright, we're ready for the second package. The first was a success."

The counter on the wall began to tick again, and as the countdown finished, a second, larger jar beside the first was lighted with a flash of fire as a large book, with Nineteen eighty-four on the cover, and another owl feather.

As the applause subsided, Robert sent the confirmation for the third package. The countdown started again, and this time, the flash of fire sent in a live owl, hooting happily.

And they had only done it in 3 months, Robert thought. To be fair, they had the energy readings from the Fins attack in the battle of Olizha, which saved them maybe 15 months of work, though they were able to somewhat reduce energy consumption

In his euphoria, Robert wondered how the folks in the Substances Chamber were doing in creating neutronium. He heard they were quite close, considering they had information from the Happyland.

---

Using the funds Finswedeway gave, there have been plans to, in the reconstruction of the cities, to install these teleporters in homes and at workplaces, and linking them to a regulated transport network, reducing commute. This will be powered by the fusion reactor network in the border of the cities. Concerns about obesity are soothed by the fact the government has a mandatory weight loss program for those who get too fat.

The teleporters are undergoing human safety testing. Meanwhile, miniature fusion reactors that can also teleport anything in a 3 meter radius around it are being tested.

The teleporters have been named by the scientists as Porti (singular: portus).

Human sized portable porti are being designed, though power constraints are proving difficult.

This will surely be useful to the Army. Which is notably undermanned at the moment due to pacifist sentiment. However, the people are still vastly grateful to the Fins who liberated them.

A Monarchist protest outside The Techoligian Council building, which are very common, turned violent when a Fins immigrant tossed a molotov cocktail at a police vehicle, leading to a large riot that killed ten police officers and thirty protesters. Ever since the riot there has been a large "guerrilla war" against the Cogsport Police and the government inside the city.

The Elite police forces sent in to deal with the unrest have been nicknamed Die Blauen und Roten (The Blue and Reds) based on the red cap they wear and the blue body armor.

Along with the Monarchists, the Anarcho-Syndicalists and TechSoc supports have also joined in the fighting.

"Schnell! Go!" yelled a Police Sergeant to his squad.

"We cant let these schwienhunds win the capital!"

*BANG*

The Sergeant dropped to the ground with several holes in his chest.

"Ruhm zu TechSoc! Ruhm zum Vaterland!" Yelled a man in all black and an old TechSoc-era military helmet, wielding a Hunting Shotgun.

"Come out you Blue and Reds! Fight us like men!" Yelled a man wearing a black and red bandana.

"Three, two, one. Fire!"

A burst of red light flew out of the tank's barrel. The light burst in a shower of sparks exactly two meters from the fusion generator. Three more shots were consecutively fired, each failing to penetrate the invisible shield, instead exploding, and in cases where power has been ramped up, reflected. As the tank was wrecked by it's own rebounded shots, the lead scientist of the Project thought it was appropriate to conclude the day's work. They had managed to scale down the size of the shield to that of a large bed, from it's original size of a mammoth. It was only a matter of time until they managed to fit it on a soldier. Their research was massively sped up by rumours coming from the Happyland about their tech. It was how they knew to utilise the strong nuclear force, but having no direction otherwise, their version of the shield worked differently, albeit slightly inferior; at high enough energy input, the shield would not reflect, but deflect partially (meaning some part of it still goes through).

The new assistant piped up, "uh, sir. May I inquire about something?"

"Of course!"

"Why is it we're making all these weapons? The porti, the neutronium armor, the shield. I mean, we barely have an army, or military left."

"It's exactly because we have only some 20,000 odd men in the army, with all the resignations. that we are doing this. You see, unless we implement conscription. Which is political suicide, considering the current climate, we won't be able to fight the other nations on an equal footing. Only if we train the remaining as best as we possibly can, and equip our soldiers with the best equipment we can possibly muster, we will lose again, horribly underarmed and undermanned. This applies to the navy too. When we finally get the neutronium, we're installing them, and the shields as well. Ditto for the air force."

"It's clear now sir! We have to get out of Cogsport!"

Fins researchers and scientists watched on in horror from a satellite as it happened to pass over the Techoligian islands. Having noticed unusual energy readings from the area, they trained their telescopes to the country to see fighting and explosions. An extremely significant event seeming like little ants having a petty dispute over who should have what. "Omae!" Condescendingly ordered the head scientist, pointing to a young intelligence officer "prata medu Denka-Tai o Yiban, once we get in range. This seems important,"

"Kusipää..." he mutters to himself, switching on the long-distance radio.

---

"Haven't these people ever heard of a little thing called elections?" Zhingu asks herself, turning off the holographic message sent to her reporting on the event.

She considers the two sides, one a hard-left democratic faction, the other, mostly unknown how it would work, but likely an autocratic centrist faction. She knows that, if there's one thing she hates more than autocracies, it's the hard-left. But she respects that the Techoligians are on the left due to a democratic process, unlike some people. Ultimately, she concludes that democracy is more important than some guy claiming to be holy, with no long-running blood-line of important people to back him up.

She takes a moment to consider her role as a monarch, but remembers that, if she steps down and abolishes the monarchy, almost 500 years of tradition would be thrown away.

"No..." she mutters to herself, "I don't want to become this big bully bossing others around, but I can't stand idly by while some misguided fools abandon their democratic ways..." she lets out a sigh of frustration, running her hands through her long, black hair.

"Maybe we should just... stay out of it," she justifies her decision to herself, "I mean, besides, it sure as hell won't be the LAST civil war in Techoligia. Let's reserve picking a side to more unique events, yes." She sighs one of relief, "at least I won't be sending more Suongo* to die in some far off land."

---

OOC:

*
Suongo, derived from the Japanese "Nihongo," which basically means "Japanese," is Awglikhan for Fins. I will be using it instead from now on, as Fins just sounds kinda... silly, I guess. Whatever. Just. Get used to hearing Suongo a lot more now. You all use whatever you want to use, though, but it might be easier to start using Suongo.

König Klaus Schuler has stepped down as king of Techoligia, his last decree being that there shall not be a monarchy in Techoligia ever again.

The Monarchists have rallied behind a man calling himself Fredrick Sæwyne, claiming to be the brother of the dead claimant to the Sæwyne bloodline.

TechSoc has declared their leader to be a mysterious man only know as Vater, Father.

The AnSyndicalists have appointed Jan Reid as the leader of the trade unions council.

Loyal Techoligians have rallied around Emilie Schuler, her husband, and the Council.

"So the Techies are having another civil war?" The caretaker Minister spoke grimly.

"Yes, it seems so sir. Satellite photos have confirmed it." His deputy spoke.

"We are far too weak at the moment to support a military operation, and even if we could, no one would support it anyways." The Minister said calmly. "We're staying out of it. On the bright side, maybe they'll get their damn soldiers out of that embassy."

"Speaking of military power, how are our soldiers doing?"

"Of the 25,000 remaining in the army, 10,000 is in the process of being trained by the Commandos. We should finish training in a few years. Since the army is so small, it is possible we could train them to the standard of the British SAS (or, the highest possible standard). Intake is extremely low, due to unpopularity and also the higher standards we just imposed."

"Very well then, that seems fine. Go ahead. What about the new equipment?"

"We are introducing the porti to the individual soldiers. The battery is enough for about 4 teleports per day, and recharges itself. Doctrine is being adapted. The shields are about to be scaled down. We've decided that the optimal way to activate the shield in combat is by some sort of hand movement, instead of some complicated, distracting procedure. The shield batteries last for about 30 seconds and can recharge. We're about to get neutronium, either from the labs or the Happyland and are exploring ways of adapting that into armour.

"As for the cities, the porti are being installed in homes and small businesses." The deputy added.

"I understand. As to Techoligia, since I am not democratically elected, I can't make sweeping foreign policy changes. I believe the public is quite pacifist at the moment so ask the council to pass the non-intervention bill. We'll send a few dozen scouts to watch but no interference."

"Yessir." The deputy saluted and left his office.

The Fighting has calmed as the factions begin to organize.

Inside the Flying Squirrel pub, in Gearburg, Techolori Islands

An Anarcho-Syndicalist Flag is hung on the wall, with many men and women drinking.

A man dressed in a military Greatcoat stands.

"So back when I was stationed in Sunrisland during the wars, those Sunrislanders have a knack for converting songs. They took an old Irish Rebel song called Join the British Army. They call it Fick die Volkslandarmee."

Another man rises. "I know that one!"

"Let's show them the first three verses."

"Oh well when I was young I used to be as fine a man you'd ever see!"

Other men who know the song rise. Another man pipes up.

"'Til the Councilwoman, she said to me come join the Volkslandarmee!"

"Too-ra loo-ra loo-ra loo, They're lookin' for monkeys up in the zoo,"

"And if I had a face like yours I'd join the Volkslandarmee!"

The men and women continue singing throughout the night, songs supporting their movement and antagonizing the other factions.

The Staff Sergeant sat, half asleep by a bright fusion light at his post outside of the Techoligian embassy. With all the instability, the government is getting nervous about what the 5,000 soldiers in the embassy are going to do so they had been discreetly keeping watch (concealed in the forest). It was almost midnight, and his shift was almost over.

He was jolted awake by the sound of people. People shouting in the distance it seemed, though not from the embassy. No, it seemed to come from Portus, the port city right beside the embassy. He stood up and shouted "Squad!" The rest of his team jolted awake.

"Sergeant, what's all that noise?" The corporal asked. He promptly opened the police radio, bring in static covered voices.

"-tower is collapsing! Rescue teams! Go!"

He could barely make out a distinct stack of smoke in the dark, cloudless night using the moonlight.

"We've got to help." The sergeant said immediately. "People are dying right now."

"No! We were given specific orders to watch the Techoligians!" His deputy commander spoke hotly. "They're in another war right now! What if they do something when we were gone! And anyways, what're you gonna do? Spit at the fire?"

---

A lorry with a car bomb had crashed into the Portus stock exchange collapsing the tower. Queen Fleur Nelson was pictured in the morning newspaper working tirelessly finding survivors among the debris in the early hours of the morning. It was now daybreak, and the rescuers are searching the remnants of the third storey.

"Alright. I think he's alright." The queen reassured the others. "Are you alright sir? We're going to get you to the hospital. Come now!"

As she loaded the man into the emergency hospital teleporter, a flash of fire appeared at her side, along with the Caretaker Minister.

"Don't do that!" Fleur said. "It's slightly disconcerting when people suddenly appear at your side in a bundle of flames, you know?"

"It's the fastest form of transportation," the minister said matter-of-factly, as he escorted her to an alley where they would be unheard. "Anyways, I've come to inform you of the election results."

"The election?" Fleur said dazedly. "There's an election? Oh! I'm sorry. It's been very exhausting."

"I understand." The minister said dispassionately, not showing the slightest trace of understanding. "My replacement will be Bethany Wickstein of the Progressive Party. They've won 48% of the seats. They're in the coalition with the Rational Party, who won 6% of the seats."

"Your replacement?" Fleur said, looking sleep deprived. "Oh. I'm so sorry."

"In addition," The minister continued, as if he never heard her. "Nearly 45,000 Techoligian immigrants have run off to support a side in the civil war over there. The rest are lobbying the government to intervene, but they haven't got a chance with this new non-interventionist government."

"As to this terror attack, our intelligence agencies are investigating, though this may take some time as they are heavily invested in spying on the Techoligians right now. Don't worry, your majesty. While we may not have the best army, we sure as hell have one of the finest spy networks in the world."

The General held the heavy relay battery in his hands, a small, cylindrical, blue package with a screen on the side for choosing coordinates. "So you're saying that this can take me... anywhere?" He asked, his small round glasses shining in the sunlight.

"Yes, sir, just put in the coordinates. It'll be like the battle for Olizha all over again!" Replied an aged scientist.

"Alright. I'll put in... just a few meters to the left of me," he said, typing numbers into the screen. He presses a large, blue button on the end of the package. It starts to shake violently, and heating up substantially. Suddenly, a loud strike of lightning breaks the General down on the molecular level. A few seconds later, he appears 5 meters to the left in a clap of thunder and a blast of lightning. He looks up, and begins laughing histerically. "That was... that felt odd!"

"Indeed, sir. Now, you'll have to recharge the battery at one of our facilities after each use."

"Fair enough. We'll have to start marketing these!"

"Give it some time; Suongo can be a little untrusting of new things."

"Fine. If you'll excuse me I have an Empress to surprise!" He says excitedly, grabbing another relay battery and typing in some coordinates. "Adios, mi amigo!" He says, warping out of existence temporarily.

"...Spanish?"

OOC; it would kinda be nice to... you know... actually LOSE a war for once. Maybe just to see what it's like? Idk. That doesn't mean I won't TRY to win any future wars, I would just be kinda curious to see us lose.

A large scale battle has begun in New Cogwheel Commons.

A soldier, naught but 25, stands outside of a door carrying a Pump-action shotgun.

"Volkslandarmee! Open this door or I'll shoot off the lock!"

Silence.

"Alright, I'm coming in!"

BANG!

The man rushes inside to see a familiar face pointing an M45 pistol to his head. His own brother.

"E-Erwin?" The man stumbles out.

"Peter?"

"You're with the Anarchists!?" The soldier exclaims.

"Ja ... I guess you're here to kill me." The younger man reasons.

"I-I was sent to clear the building... I didn't know you were here!"

The soldier points the barrel of his shotgun at his brother, the gun trembling in his hands.

"Go ahead, Peter... my gun's empty."

The soldier sets his finger on the trigger.

There is an air of disbelief and of surprise in the dark room...

CLINK

He drops the shotgun.

"I can't do it..."

On the more boring matters in Pax Athena, electoral reform has been suggested: taxpayers who have consistently paid taxes for over 4 years shall now be the ones allowed to vote. As the government is the one spending your tax money, only if you have paid taxes will you be represented. Additionally, this will clamp down on the tax evaders and tax avoidance, as they lose all representation. It would also ensure undocumented immigrants are guaranteed the right to vote, as they do pay taxes as well. For people in the late teens (from age 16 up) who had just come of age, voting will still be guaranteed as they haven't had the chance to pay taxes. For people earning below the lowest tax income bracket and do not have to pay income taxes, checks will be made on whether they have paid other types of taxes to ensure they are not disenfrancised.

In matters of representation, there has been a debate between first-past-the-post, and proportional representation in Parliament. In the end, it has been agreed that starting next election, the House of Lords shall be elected using proportional representation, and the House of Commons would be done so using first-past-the-post, guaranteeing the benefits of both forms of representation.

In matters of military, the army remains with an infantry force of only 30,000 due to pacifist reforms (namely, bringing the standard in recruitment massively up, vastly reducing intake) and low popularity. The army has been counteracting this by training the soldiers to the best possible standard and pouring money into training and equipment.

Neutronium had just been synthesized after nearly a year of hard work. Inquiries of applications have been made.

The SIS is sending spies to the ranks of the government of every Techoligian faction, in an attempt to gain more information and influence with whoever wins.

Teleporters have now been installed in every house and workplace, and have been welcomed by the Athenians as massively convienient.

in Finswedeway, one becomes an adult at quite a young age, 14 (the issue about it). However, the right to vote is reserved for those who are over 25. This is so that adults have experienced life before they get to vote.

Voting citizens elect three representatives to be sent to the House, to represent their county. On the ballot, they mark their top five candidates in ascending order, so if their #1 doesn't make it, they would still be satisfied with their #2 or 3.

Representatives have the power to pass legislation, if it is approved by The Sovereign. However, if the bill is unanimously agreed upon, it doesn't have to be approved.

The marriage between Royal Consort, Frederick Finn and The Empress, Zhingu Zhen, was always shaky at best. This morning, however, The reserved, and often quite shy Empress, while a competent and powerful leader, has proven herself to be a poor wife. During a routine medical examination, it was discovered that Her Majesty was pregnant. While the doctor assumed it was Frederick's child, several men came forward, claiming to have had... intimate relations with The Empress.

Zhingu has come forward, admitting to sleeping with the men, as well as some, unnamed women, claiming that the older man, Frederick's, inadequacies left her greatly unsatisfied. Heartbroken, Frederick has made attempts to soften relationships with The Empress, treating her with extravagant trips to [nation=short]Pax Athena[/nation] and the Suongo countryside.

In a surprise move, Queen Fleur Nelson has relinquished nearly all royal authority in an effort to prevent any successors from seizing power. The status of the monarchy as a beacon of stability is preserved though, as they still have a massive amount of soft power even while lacking direct power. Furthermore, any drastic decision, such as dissolving Parliament, must absolutely be followed by an election. The reforms are aimed at making sure the monarchy doesn't turn into a tyranny, mostly, with the monarchy still able to act as a check and balance to tyranny by other branches of the government, as per the Constitution.

The nature of thought had long been a subject studied by scientists. In the Thought Chamber, deep underground, neurons fly around large simulations of the brain. Memories are dissected and analysed, and the complex web of the brain systems have finally been unraveled.

"She was saying she was thinking of horseriding..."

The junior neurologist said after hours of decrypting the brain of their latest subject.

"Yeah, this looks like horseriding alright. Oh, it looks like she was nervous too, that her more sensitive secrets would be seen. Unlucky her, it turns trying to hide something means thinking of that something, in turn, making the memory extraction actually show her secrets. Oh well, I'm not going to look at it. Even if we legally could because she signed the consent form. Josh? Are you alright?"

Josh seemed to be frozen, looking at the screen in awe.

"Yeah, yeah I am. But aren't you amazed by the advancement of technology? Some guy said that that which is advanced enough will be percieved as magic. And look where we are now. Mind reading" he said in awe.

"How many times do I have to tell you? This is not as simple as mind reading! It is a far more complex and intricate process! Oh well. Let's just send this to the Navy. They'll increase funding massively for sure. They have one almost foolproof interrogation method now. Along with our suggestions for resisting this... mind reading, for lack of a better name" The neurologist said in distaste.

Military Code, Article 131, Section 3, introduced yesterday.

No civilian, whichever side shall be subject to "mind-reading" (official name to be introduced) without explicit, signed consent. Enemy combatants however, can be subjects to interrogation using this new technology.

The Athenian Royal Household, and especially Queen Fleur congratulate Queen Zhingu Zheni for her pregnancy. Trips to Pax Athena are free, permanently.

IC: *Ah, another civil war. the Dictator noted after reading several reports. *What to do, what to do. Maybe nothing. Trying to solve all the world's problems without understanding them fully didn't really work out last time.
*Besides, trying to get involved would just make the situation worse. Same old, same old, try and sell medical supplies to both sides while cutting off all arms shipments to both (though, admittedly, there weren't very many of those to begin with).

Election results are finally in. The Suosverge-to av Demokrati just barely holds the majority, with 32% of the seats. Right behind them, are the Suongo Nationell-to; with 31% of the seats. The Justice Party remains a minority, with 13% of the seats.

A new clause has been added in the Suongo constitution, amendment 12. It reads as follows;

4) Following the election, the representatives vote upon one man or woman to be sent to the royal court to become Consul, a position which shares the responsibilities of The Sovereign.

As such, newly elected representatives will now begin to decide who shall be Consul.

The Suongo-Athenian occupational force has returned home after a year and a half of being stationed there, in accordance with the Treaty of Palatium.

"If Cogwheel Commons wasn't a wasteland before," Remarks a TechSoc fighter.

"It sure as hell is one now."

The men stand from their campfire as their Commissar arrives.

"Achtung! Kommissar anwesend!"

The Commissar, dressed in black trenchcoat and kepi, looks at the men.

"We march at dawn. The Todeskorps knows this city well. It is their home. Aber die Syndikalisten sind schwach. We will crush them like we crushed the foolish followers of Fredrick and Reid. Vater will guide our hand to victory! Ruhm zum Vater!"

"Ruhm zum Vater!" The men reply.

At this point the Monarchist's Royal Guard has been driven out, as well as the Anarcho-Syndicalist's Cogwheel Commons Industrial Union.

A Consul has been decided upon by the House of Representatives. His name is Valter Hermansson, rich and famous businessman hailing from Nanzhi. Notable for providing the funding for the molecular relay program, which effectively saved the country during the Athenian war, as well as advocating for Suongo isolationism. He supports the idea of a reactionary democracy, and proved to be a compromise for the Suosverge-to av Demokrati and the Suongo Nationell-to, both of whom hold the majority in the Houses. He gave a speech at Chotyo this morning, which went as follows;

"Hivaa uomenta, fellow Suongo!" He greets the cheering crowd, his slick, bald head shining in the spotlight, his expensive suit raising up as he raises two 'peace' sign with his fingers. His voice is raspy, the drawing out pf his syllables indicating a northerner accent. "The House has given me the chance to become Consul, and, with your approval, I could not refuse! In my campaign, I have promised you security, without infringing on your freedoms. Well, I can assure you that this will occur on day one!"

The General, standing behind him, presses a button on a small remote. Suddenly, from behind the podium, a loud whirring could be heard. Slowly, several large, bipedal robot, roughly 18 meters tall and painted in patriotic Suongo symbols, with different colours for each of them, rise from the ground from an elevator.

"Behold!" Valter continues, gesturing to the robot, "from my own pocket, and at no expense from your wallets, I have financed Project Latitude... Mk ニ!"

The crowd cheers in awe and wonderment. A loud roar of clapping and exclamations of disbelief, rolls across the crowd like a wave, as a gaggle of three Latitudes salute them.

Greetings citizens! We are here to defend democracy and the freedom to pursue happiness.

"Many claim that quality trumps quantity," Valter explains, "I ask, 'why not both?' That was the foundation for Mk. ニ right from the start. Should you wish to serve our country, you will stand beside one of these in defence of your brothers and sisters. What's more, you will be remembered forever, your name engraved into one of the Latitude's armor."

The crowd excitedly claps, as Valter continued his speech, outlining his plans for further into the future.

The original Latitude will be deactivated and will stand forever in the ruins of Olizha, which is already being claimed by the nature around it, perpetually saluting towards the setting sun.

"Reactionary Democracy? Did you just say reactionary?" The Prime Minister said, somewhat shocked. "Oh god, it's Cornelius Praxum and his fascism all over again. And worst of all, it's our fault he's in power. Oh well. At least it's a democracy. For now anyways."

Prime Minister Beth Wickstein looked as exhausted and frustrated as ever. While domestically, things were going extremely well, with them successfully playing catch up with the technology of the other nations; she heard that the Chameleon Camouflage was being tested with the commandos, among other technology, the world outside seemed as unstable as ever. Techoligia will never get out of it's cycle of civil war, and now Finswedeway has a possibly dangerous Consul (nice title name, she thought, remembering her Roman history lessons), and a new death mech. They didn't have resources to squander on building a giant doom robot, so Mistírion has been focusing on ways to destroy Latitude and it's like. They've been mainly looking at the EDL's destroyed mechs, particularly that time one of Mk. III was destroyed.

---

"So it adapts to the color of the environment behind it?"

"Precisely!" The lead engineer said enthusiastically. "It's proven about 20 times as effective as other camouflage."

"What about full invisibility?"

"Sorry sir, it's possible, but the materials needed are too expensive for mass production. We also don't have a lot of the mineral, and we can't import it too, since the Fins will know what's going on."

---

"How goes the operation?"

"Very well sir. We have placed spies in junior positions in the Suongo government. If they are discovered, they are low enough not to cause an international incident. But they have eyes on potential threats from there."

"Good. Our PM tells us to keep a close eye on the new Consul. While you are at it, tell those spies to protect Suongo government officials too. Tell them to keep Finswedeway stable. An unstable Finswedeway means an invaded Pax Athena."

OOC:
Figured I'd post it that the original Project Charon has since been rebuilt after being destroyed and upgraded with new weaponry, systems, and armor. Notably, while inactive, it and Thanatos are now kept within a massive Faraday cage to prevent hacking.
It's still a glass cannon compared to what I can see from the others, but its durability has been vastly improved by using more advanced shield generators (the old design used models stolen from Techoligian space technology and worked much less efficiently in the atmosphere).

The Anarcho-Syndicalists have surrendered to the Government. However, the TechSoc forces are still fighting hard for the capital from their reign, Cogwheel Commons, as the Armee von Karicksland is holding steadfast, but at this point, with the Volkslandarmee controlling a majority of Teckoland, the main island, victory is almost assured.
Glory to Techoligia and to Chairman Schuler.

I don't know. Seems pretty extreme to me. I note that one of the synonyms for reactionary is "ultraconservative".

Fine. But we'll still be placing spies in your government. If the Consul does anything rash, we'll know immediately. While our spies do want to keep Finswedeway stable, and will protect your government officials, even the Consul with their lives, we're watching.

---

"So?"

"If all these plan doesn't work, we still have plan N."

"N? Such an odd letter to choose."

"Yes, it stands for nuking the hell out of the mech, with enough firepower to level a city. Even with fancy magnetic shields, they won't be able to withstand that. There's also the blow up the ground under them so that they get stuck in a kilometer deep predug ditch of unclimbable mud, but that's hard and really expensive."

"What about that newfangled neutronium thing?"

"Yes, we're incorporating them into armour plating and bullets."

"No. I mean, destroying a neutronium encased mech."

"We're still having a bit of trouble with that, yes. We aren't sure how to destroy or melt it yet."

---

"Curses, why won't this damn thing work?"

"C'mon, Leanne, we have something like 96% invisibility. I'd settle for that."

"You could, George. But not the queen! We have to make this completely invisible, and heat dampening, otherwise any creep could just kidnap the Queen!"
