Several meetings between Adel and Zhingu have occured, but remain private to the public.

This may be the beginning of a long alliance between the two countries.

spies in the city of cogsport are assassinating important sindicalist officials while the battle occurs. The Fins are suspected of supporting the assassins, but none of them have been caught by what remains of the syndicalist government.

Meanwhile, 15 tanks, and 40 AFV's are being supplied to the Monarchists in Cogsport. Along with that, New Fanian artillery had begin to bombard Cogsport, and surrounding military bases (of the old regime). Bombings by the air force are also common.

Most of the Techolori Islands are either sunrisland or the DMZ around sunrisland.

The Outer areas of Cogsport have been captured. However, Techoligian folklore states that no invader can ever reach Olde Town, which has slowed the advance due to the superstition.

Pax Athenian paratroopers of the 9th Legion continue to advance, going back aboard their planes and execute a deep strike at the back of the enemy lines, unhindered by any superstition (as most of them are not religious). This should quicken the advance of the Techolori monarchist lines. However, urban warfare is taking it's toll on the 9th Legion, who find clearing buildings damaging and tiresome. Therefore, Legatus-General von Helmann of the 9th Legion is requesting permission from Adel Sæwyne to bombard any buildings confirmed holding enemy combatants from orbit.

[Time]
[2105] The 9th Legion, being ournumbered, have fortified their position just outside of Olde Town, being severely outnumbered and undersupplied. Thankfully, they all have engineer training and are able to fortify their position, though Major May, who is in command, relays to the Legatus-General that they cannot hold the position indefinitely, and require immediate reinforcements.

[2355] The support crew and heavy equipment of the 9th Legion are parachuted into the fortifications, bringing in heavy artillery, New Fanian tanks, and much needed supplies. The beleaguered 9th Legion fortify their position further, and with the advent of artillery, manage to repel syndicalist forces... for the moment. However, the 9th Legion achieve their goal of diverting the defending Syndicalist lines, and patiently wait for the monarchist advance, which should be accelerated by several days by this attack according to top analysts.

Techolori Islands
[2359] The planes of the paratroopers of 11th Legion arrive in silence. Sunrisland has relayed reports of a possible New Fanian invasion, and the stealth cargo planes of the 11th maintain a holding pattern over the islands, ready to retaliate in case of a betrayal. The black armor patterns of the genetically advanced infantry blend almost too well with the night, making these troops, in effect invisible, when combined with their silent movements. This should make for an effective first strike.

OOC: Never mind, void the post about the Techlori Islands.

IC: New Fanian bombers manage to bomb Olde Town, after the Major General gave an order stating no troops would enter the "god-forsaken city". The major outposts were turned into rubble, and there were multiple casualties. The President has also ordered a bombing run on some of Cogsport's biggest factory suburbs. This has gone through, with the Techoligian industrial capability being severely weakened.

Going a bit too far, if you ask me. The monarchists are going to have to rebuild the country YOU are destroying. Make the rebuilding process easier on them, and calm down with the bombings. Elsewise, you might find your actions reflect what happens to you.

There has finally been a massive breakthrough as a large civilian vehicle drove in from behind the bridge, running over her defenders. The Legend of the Mitte Bridge has finally been proven false. Adel von Wittelsbach will be entering The Techoligian Council building to face the leader of the Syndicalist Confederacy, war hero Klaus Schuler.

Adel and Klaus agreed to meet for a duel.

"Well then, Adel. Not a Saewyne anymore?" The General secretary asked, polishing the Trench shovel he used in the Swarm Wars. "Quiet, Klaus. We couldn't remain Saewynes forever." The prince drew his sword and pointed it at Klaus. Klaus laughed. Adel lunged at Klaus, but stopped inches before the blade would've pierced his heart. In place of Adel's heart there was but a hole burned into his body. Klaus had shot him with a Laspistol. The Prince dropped to the floor, then Klaus used his shovel to decapitate him.

Klaus walked out with the head of the last Saewyne and showed it to the monarchists outside. Without a ruler, these men had nothing to fight for.

The Monarchists have layed down their arms and the Techoligian council has declared martial law to crack down on any more insurgencies. Long live the Confederacy.

The Fins government publicly denounces the general seceratary for dishonourable conduct and a lack of decency.

The Empress has approved an embargo on Techo goods
Fins airmen are on high alert for potential attackers, with AA guns armed 24/7. Every ship and plane that enters into the range of Fins influence is scanned for Techoligian imports. Any found are given a warning to leave and shot down if they refuse to cooperate.

All economic activity between the two countries has halted entirely.

The Empress prepares for another public appearance, which is highly anticipated and hyped.

At least I'm not bombing population hubs, like I did in the previous wars. Or using Space Lasers, for that matter. I would land troops, but the thing is I don't want to waste New Fanian lives.

This has angered the New Fanians. They have practically the same response as the Fins', one of disgust. This wasn't a fair duel, and is not recognized by the New Fanians. Even though the Monarchists have layed down their arms, New Fania lands troops (OOC: See, Finswedeway!) in Sunrisland, and helps them to fight the Techoligians.

Meanwhile, the New Fanian Parliament has stated a policy of no diplomatic, or economic relationships between Techoligia, and New Fania. That means: Embargoes on imports/exports, and no ambassadors to/from Techoligia.

Pax Athena condemns Techoligia for it's dishonourable act, declaring Techoligia's government to be illigetimate, and supporting a return to a constitutional monarchy to any remaining heir. Pax Athena has placed full embargoes and is encouraging all of 10KI to cease trade to cripple Techoligian economy. Pax Athenian expatriates are advised to leave Techoligia immediately, with the State Department suggesting further civil conflict to be inevitable.

OOC ples explain how it doesn't fail. Or, how it tries to not fail. North Korea has a self-sufficiency policy, which doesn't work whatsoever.

Also do that because I'm honestly curious in how one might work.

Tokaya Zhono, aged and war-weathered, walked up to the stage. In front of him were the voting public, as he tries to reach for higher places. Tokaya knows he will be well-recieved, as stories of his military career are spread like wild-fire. Now, having retired from service, he hopes to continue to make an impact.

"My friends," He began, "voting season begins soon, and I know you are feeling restless." The crowd cheered him on, "today's politicians are all talk," he interrupted the crowd, "and no bite. If we want to get ahead in the international stage, we need to take action!" He pauses to let the crowd calm down. "My friends," he continued, more enthusiastically, "the Techoligians are a menace, yet we do nothing! The politicians in parliament all have their tails behind their legs, talking The Empress out of dealing out justice!" The crowd roars in anger and hope, while booing can be heard from the parliamentary seating. "Vote for me, and in eighty days, we will have a new, powerful home-land. We will have a greater country, and Techoligia will pay for their treachery!" He continued on, getting more and more energetic with the crowd.

"My friends," he concludes, "today is a new day for our Emp-"
Before he could finish, a bullet silently whizzes through the air, its' shadow cast over the crowd, and strikes him in the lungs. Blood sprays out, as Tokaya nearly falls to the floor. His aides rush to him, but Tokaya gestures them away.
"Fellow country-men," he finishes, hunched over and covering his wound with his hands, "Techoligia will pay for what they have done, both in the past..." he begins coughing up blood violently, pushing in a word between breaths "and... today. Thank you."
Tokaya returns to his aides, falls to the ground and stays there. They, and a medical team, carry him to a hospital to treat his wounds and hopefully save his life.

Klaus Schuler walks to the podium he is so familiar with, and begins his speech.

"Citizens of our fine Archipelago, these are turbulent times for our Confederacy. Our nation is in shambles, TechSoc is vying for power to reinstate their propaganda and thought police. The Sæwyne bloodline has been ended by my hand, and the National Bolsheviks of the NatCom party wish to reinstate Himmler's hateful politics. Our former allies have joined our enemies."

The General Secretary dodges a few rotten fruit and continues. "Unlike the previous war-loving bastard that was Hans, I've seen the horrors of war. We cannot afford war with Finswedeway. I will make attempts to cull the fires that were stoked when I killed Adel, but we cannot be sure I will succeed." He whispers to a camera operator then looks back to the crowd.

"And for our friends in New Fania and Pax Athena who do not understand Techoligian Syndicalism, we do have a free market, we have family businesses and small companies. Those companies and businesses. But each business must follow the rules of the workers council, a collection of both small business owners and trade union leaders. We have welfare for all in the form of the Food tickets we Techolgians receive for our work. Those who don't have a job, are assigned to needed Civil projects like roads and sidewalks, and are paid for their work. We have Capitalism, just not the capitalism you're used to in the Pax Athenian nation and the New Fanian mega corporation."

Cheers erupt from the once disgruntled crowd as he walks back into the council building.

Tokaya Zhono was carried to the hospital quickly enough to put him in immediate care for the injury. He remains unconscious for the time being, and with a collapsed lung and an aging heart, it may be a while before he fully recovers. In lighter news, initial polls show that support for his election is at an all-time high. (I neglected to make this clear, but he is running for Minister of Parliament. This is a position, which is only given to retured admirals and generals, which grants many responsibilities. Most notably, the joint administration of the military along-side the Empress.) Support is at 93% from citizens, but 12% from other members of parliament.

It is suspected that the shooter was a Techoligian spy or extremist. Members of parliament are being interrogated. (something that Finswedeway is pretty good at following years of Japanese occupation during WWI and extenisve espionage during the cold war)

Upon the speech in Techoligia being televised for all to see in Pax Athena, some sentiment sympathetic to Syndicalism can be noticed. However, sympathisers, while not repressed, even with the new anti-extremist speech laws (criticised for prohibiting political freedom - the start of an authoritarian state?) are generally unpopular, especially among the citizens of the newly built capital city of Vesta, who have seen the benefits of a heavily regulated free market being directed towards the common good: they simply disagree with the draconian way the free market is regulated within Techoligia; 81% of Pax Athenians believe they stifle economic growth and innovation without any gain towards the welfare of the worker, and further disagree with the massive government control of industries (75%).

However, the government encourages free thought and the merits of syndicalism are being debated widely against that of social democracy, the system of which Pax Athena uses, especially in various universities.

The Pax Athenian ambassador to the Fins, wearing a uniform of white, lined with red; which exuded of the grandeur of his country's naval traditions proceeded to the hospital, along the way, doing his job and giving a dramatic speech condemning political terrorism of any kind. But now at the hospital, the hard part of his job is being done: diplomacy.

"Who did this?" Hassan al-Dimaq said bluntly. Throughout his life, he had been many things: a flag officer, a shrewd politician, an unsuccessful Presidential candidate, and now he was standing beside a bloodied, unconscious man, as an ambassador.

"We think it's the Techoligians: possibly a spy, maybe one of those extremists. We are interrogating rival MPs for possible malicious intent." The young Fin diplomat answered.

"Oh stop your pretense. That's the official explanation. We know after all those wars you have a first-tier intelligence service, and this includes domestic intelligence as well. We are in an alliance, so I trust that we can... trust each other?"

"Who do you think did it? We've seen you snooping around the spy networks, you might have a clue." The Fin answered.

"Right then. Our (stolen) data indicates the attack was too sophisticated for some insane wacko acting on his own. The equipment was military grade and a group helped the gunner escape; a plan which involved several fake passports, and satellite imaging by the SIS indicates there was a helicopter round the border in case things went awry. It is only a national player that can orchestrate such an undertaking. We know the current council in Techoligia wants to avoid war at all costs. And the thing that would just cause a war would be an extremely convenient assassination on a pro-war politician. Unless the council is populated by idiots, which they are not, they would never assassinate someone. We need to find out who most benefits by a war with Techoligia, who is naturally, the git who did all this."

"And who would be the 'git that did all this'. Nobody really benefits from a war with Techoligia, do they? Unless... unless it's the Sunrislandians? They want independence, but now that the path to reconciliation is being built between the nations of the coalition and Techoligia. No. That's too convoluted"

"Our intelligence services have found some clues that implicate Sunrisland, but we aren't infallible, we may be wrong and we strongly suspect someone is out to implicate Sunrisland for some reason".

The Fin diplomat's young and naive facade dropped. "We have been led to similar conclusions as well. So we need to find whoever wants to implicate Sunrisland. Possibly because of Sunrisland and the Techoligian Isle's resource-richness. Or find out if Sunrisland really did it. And I assume our two nations will keep this quiet, at least until the investigation is over?"

Hassan smiled slightly, in an almost imperceptible way. "Of course."

"You're forgetting one crucial detail," quietly stated Tokaya, who has apparently been conscious ever since Hassad entered the room, "I've been around for long enough to know that New Fania is itching for a conflict,"
"Tokaya, you're awake?" Queried the Fin, "Why didn't you say something sooner?"

"Quiet, boy," he responded weakly, "let me speak."

"Yessir," he responded timidly,

"I'd hate to insult them," he went on, pausing to take breaths in between statements, "but the Sunrislandians are far too poor to organise such an event. The Fanians, however, are some of the richest few in the region."

"So you're saying it was them?" Hassan asked,

"Yes, which is why we shouldn't go to war." He gestures for the Fin diplomat to come near, as his condition only worsens "Please, boy, get an audience with the Empress. Tell her we... must'nt go to war."

"I understand, be well, sir," responded the diplomat, standing up and rushing out of the door. Hassad followed, as he had an appointment to go to.

A short while after, The Empress, Zhingu Zhen, arrived at the hospital. Tokaya had taken care of her during the swarm crisis, and had raised her following the death of her father, Joji Zhen. For the next 9 days, Zhingu would remain at the hospital with Tokaya. After the ninth day, when Zhingu finally returned to the palace, Tokaya died quietly in the hospital bed. The worst possible death for a war hero. A statue of him was almost immediately erected over the hospital in his honour.
To survive the coming age, we must adapt, resist populist influences, and root out greedy tyranny from the hallowed halls of government, and as God is my witness, we will survive.
