Incoming mortars got your head down? Then head down to the sandbag nest at O'Darrell's. Just because you're a tier one operator on duty in the field, doesn't mean you can't have the taste of a proper pub. Shephard's Pie not included. Now featuring lemon shandies.

That's O'Darrell's. Come for the combat. Stay for happy hour.

Edit: Solid. We wished it away to the last page.

Lemon Shandies? O'Darrell is too HARD for that. He gives VODKA! Enemies get a free 100% Alcohol drink.

We had a bar once.

I beanbagged someone, someone got shot, and a mech jumped through the fucking roof, moo'd, and jumped through the rest of the base.

And no, it wasn't the drinks.

There is a similar model on DAZ to the one posted above. This isn't it, but is made by the same person. I think that one by C. Gross above is a model done on a Warhammer 40K model, right? If not it might be a version of the one on DAZ.

I like this image I just rendered myself though, right now for this holiday show & tell. This is some older, cheap model I had laying around with a night setup... A really nice fighter just came out which I'll have to work with. It's clearly a future tech space fighter though... You can actually see a glow from the second set of space engines at the back.

Yes. It's an Imperial Guard Valkyrie.

On your fighter, I would shy away from it. In realistic combat, it would be slow to maneuver, and be difficult to control in battle (due to the only two known engines on it).

If you think I would bring a space fighter, a Warhammer 40K prop, or anything not based on real tech or feasible tech, you don't know me and what I represent. Ob-vee it's no... Did I ask?

I showed my render. What I contribute from time to time is a stealth helicopter, as we always assume helicopters can just fly us all over the world to get us into these zones... And that's based on the stealth Blackhawk, not the other thing that used to be in this group. I also sometimes use the Comanche, as its cancelled tech.

But I'm not the one people need to worry about tech wanking... I also know it's not maneuverable, it's actually not a fighter but an attack aircraft.... A space based attack aircraft..

NOW, realism? If you propose to use the Warhammer 40K tech, notice the exhaust nozzles? See how the tail is right next to it? The flame would melt it, especially as it moves in afterburner. It looks way too front heavy and too top heavy with those engines on top. And that's STOL? Where are the engines for it, as the roof mounted engines can't pivot. Looks heavy. So is that actually in the group? Because part of the reason I even brought up this space fighter is just for that reason.

Space fighters are not PMT. If this is sci-fi, then I can go sci-fi with better models than this old, simple one.

I posted it for the picture, which is all I use it for... Since we're showing pictures of FT.

2 afterburners
2 ion particle engines
2 lift VTOL space-a-ma-call-its/neon underbody kit lights

So that also negates the whole 2 known engines thing.

I'd skip the laser though. This is MT, despite your nation's galactic accomplishments. I know there's an aircraft from the year 40,000 above. But it's MT. Don't be confused by my random art. My pics have nothing to do with this group or any of my stories, personally.

You see what happens, you two?

You start posting FT art and we get FT applications.

Shame! Sad! <insert other Trump-esque phrasing here>!

As for you. Welcome to the TFA thread! I need a second to look over your application...

Yeah, no. Sorry. This is an MT group, and even though you have a couple MT weapons, "more future than Star Wars" is not kosher here.

Uhh.... I'm not using FT? The image was to give you an idea. Its more of a guideline, really. To answer your complaints, no, the tail wouldn't melt. The A-10 has a similar configuration, with the exhaust above instead of below the elevators. The rear of the engines do point down, and on the wings, there are two exhaust ports each.

If you're using the actual thing to its specifications, this brick can reach 1100 KPH.

I'm no aerospace engineer, but I know to go that fast you need a certain look, and brick isn't one of them.

That picture is from the year 40,000 in its cannon. The A-10 does not have afterburners. Those engines look like afterburners. Afterburners would melt the metal, feel free to check a blowtorch out. I looked up your photo and its original set. On the side of the window is a lascannon. None of those sensor pods even pivot, so you have to aim your craft where you want to shoot or even just to look. It's not even FT, it's WWII made unfeasible. Also, it has four little engines on the side that are supposed VTOL... Not how VTOL works. The main engines rotate in the real world. Those little engines cannot lift that HUGE brick, except in the year 40K where they have ions or something. Please tell me the stealth VTOL is something else. That is not stealth for 100 reasons, starting with each exposed bolt. Right up to the HUGE heat signature of those engines. And if it's the other, those 4 little engines aren't anything close to Modern Tech from the Harrier.

That wasn't even a good 3D render. The guy who created it did well to create the model, but it's plastic texture with no shadowing and the base light. With a tacky email tag.

If I tried to submit my ship, fine. What do you mean you were trying to give me ideas? I have more ideas than I can use. You don't get to tell me how my creations maneuver. I literally just rotated it on it's axis and saw exactly how it maneuvered. Plus you were wrong about the engines.

I just made a solar system and am building its Navy from the ranks, sidearms and uniforms up. So thanks, but I'm fine. I know you have the tag of 'Chef Ramsey', although the quote lists a pharaoh...Save that for the new folk, not those who know what they're doing...

Thanks.

Now.... The real thing. Didn't you ask what this group needs?

RP

I'd like to see the mission continue. So let's drop this tech wank and maybe get to the story. I posted last in the Hayesalian mission.

No... Warhammer is Fantasy. Warhammer 40K is set in the year 40,000 and has elements of fantasy with Tech from the Future... Warhammer has orcs and swords. That is Fantasy Tech. Two different games, one is ridiculously in the future.

No matter what edition of TFA, there's still somehow an argument about WH40K.
