Posted again. Feel free to ask for clarification on anything which seems unclear. If you planned to have them repel straight down into the fourth floor, you can do that Anowa. Feel free to right the OPFOR posture and either describe their response, or leave their movements halfway open like a tag to me. As in, you can write them moving into position and I can describe their response and tag your next move.. Or you can simply take over if you prefer.

There are still the two confused officers on the fifth floor, but they don't even realize what has happened. Assume the people on the first floor are starting to sprint upstairs to see what happened. I gave numbers of people present their in my first post.

If the part about the MLRS seems unclear at all, the observers basically called in rocket strikes to take out the vehicles. Those weapons honestly have such an impact radius that it would have likely taken out more than just that truck and the building. Picture a huge circle around it. But we launched in a 'converged sheaf', meaning the shots were arraigned to land as close as they could to one another, as opposed to landing wide enough to take out up to a grid square in one barrage (something unique to MLRS effects).

It also appears as if another MLRS strike is being aimed towards the barracks, but expect some to rush out before that and run through the ambush zone of weapons squad. There's room for more to say they were on the helicopter with the 3 Vangazi, so if anyone else wants to jump in with the HVT team, feel free. As long as you are a member, you can jump in and edit your app afterwards. I need to add Hoffman and Anderson to my app and I shall. Just wanted to get this post up while I could.

And remember, no rush. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

Europa is working on a post. I gave them permission to fly in a non-Vannish helicopter, so that'll pop up. I'll send them your way after Europa's so I can respond to the both of you.

I also added the new operators to my profile with patriotic images like..

Now that certain events have transpired, I can drop this now.

Mission Briefing

OP: Lauzanne
Operation Code Name: Red Sabre
Type of Mission: CSAR/Reconnaissance/Direct Action
Location: Nothern Oisijek Province, Lauzanne
Environment: Heavy forests, hilly terrain. Clear skies.
Outline: While undergoing training exercises in Oisijek Province, a Hurti Air Force JL-9 and a Froxian Air Force F-15 have been shot down. All crew have ejected but the shootdown was a total surprise. There are already teams on the ground from the 3rd Airborne Reconnaissance Regiment as well as Froxian and Hurtian CSAR teams searching for their pilots, and TFA teams are to provide assistance in recovering the crew, finding the anti aircraft system or systems, and sweeping the area.
Primary Objectives: The primary objectives for this operation are:

The location of all surviving pilots and their aircraft, followed by the pilots’ extraction from the AO and securing the crash sites from enemy parties.

Perform reconnaissance to search for the site from which the anti-aircraft platform fired from, as well as a search of a possible FOB or hiding point for other elements of the Red Star Movement. When located, TFA, along with attached Razvedka and supporting Airborne Reconnaissance elements will conduct a direct action raid for intelligence and to neutralise the local threat.

Insertion will be performed by Mi-17 helicopters at a cleared landing site where an advance element of the 3rd Airborne Reconnaissance Regiment has departed from prior to landing.
Secondary Objectives: Scuttling the crashed aircraft to prevent the technology being stolen.
Parameters: No special restrictions, although it is advised to take quieter weapons.
OpFor: The perpetrators of the shoot down are believed to be an element of the Red Star Movement (RSM), a communistic insurgency that has plagued the country since the end of the Refusal War. The system used in the shootdown is believed to be a 2K22 Tunguska/SA-19 Grison system, likely acquired from abroad seeing as no neighbouring countries are known to utilise the system

Numbers and dispositions of RSM soldiers is unknown, but it is suspected they are using sophisticated, modern weapons systems. Caution is advised.
Number of Teams: 2-3 teams.
Notes: There is an abandoned base from the People’s Republic days to the north-east of the incident, it was left to nature after the Refusal War, but it could be in use by the RSM.

OOC whoever's in, the teams will have been going towards a training area but got redirected to an airbase from which to step off into the mission proper.

A CSAR mission sounds like it would be really interesting to write. The only thing I’d say is to be sure to have the other countries’ permission before having their planes get shot down. But if you’ve got that, this would be a great idea. If you don’t have their permission, I’m sure I or someone else can volunteer our aircraft.

Yeah, you didn't miss much, just Hurties being Hurties.

Pay no attention to the F-15s.

Oh man.. A Red Flag type exercise wargame meant to build presence against a local insurgency? That looks pretty fun. Are you doing mostly air assets? Or are their ground war games as well. I take it the actual insurgents brought things hot by the time of the downed plane?

Well, that and hurties using live rounds in a training exercise, as usual.

Also, I'm tempted to make a Nicholas-Moran style description of Hurti Advanced Tachanknicals, especially in regards to the door-glas-regulator.
(Hurti Tachanknics are different from normie technicals in that the driver sits facing the engine compartment in the rear and it pretty much handles like an armored forklift doing 80 mph)

Mission Briefing

OP: Anowa
Operation Code Name: Icarus
Type of Mission: HVT Kill-no-Capture
Location: Unspecified Locale, Rio Grande do Sul, Federal Republic of Argarita
Environment: Twilight, Heavy Overcast/Firestorm, Rural, 0% Humidity, 0% Precip, 62 km/h Wind E.(Day/Night, Cloudy/Sunny, Urban/Rural, etc.)
Outline:
As many of you know, the UN launched an investigation into the actions of a terrorist group known as Dolus early last year. While the investigation was resolved, a number of the HVTs involved were not apprehended, the UN focusing instead on reclaiming fissile material stolen from Anowan warheads. Anowan High Command however is now constantly on the look out for such HVTs.

One of said targets, an Inuk who goes only by the name 'Mystic' was spotted in a Danoil Ltd. compound in northern Argarita. 'Mystic' is known to be an incredibly elusive target, as such, regardless of the circumstances as of current, he must be neutralized. Normally, Anowan Tier One would simply fly in and take him out, though he is currently residing an a nation with less than optimal relations with the Allied States, thus leaving the job to TFA. Be warned however, it is fire season in the region he was spotted, should the operators be at risk of burning up they are to pull out. Furthermore, the death of Mystic has been confirmed a total of 4 times over the past year alone. His body is requested for retrieval to ensure he remains dead.
Primary Objectives:
    - Kill 'Mystic'
Secondary Objectives:
    - Retreive 'Mystic's' body
Parameters:
    - Due to the environmental conditions, and the risk of being overrun by wildfire, aerial extraction cannot be relied upon. Operators are advised to look for any form of secondary extraction if things go for the worse.
OpFor:
    - 60+ Hostile Foot Mobiles
    - 8+ AFVs
Number of Teams: Five
Notes:
Awards:
Tie Winner: Most Involved in P2TM, 2016
Winner: Best Crime RP, 2016

There was some ground stuff, but also various nations that are also (entirely co-incidentally) part of TFA were going to go to a cool training base and do some SOF training stuff for my Razvedka boys to do assessments, but now they've been re-directed since now we can do the real thing.

That makes sense. War games are often used as cover to move forces into a region. That’s why it becomes a big deal when the US announces war games in the South China Sea or South Korea. Allies also usually work together in TFA and in other missions. There was a Middle Eastern campaign where a few TFA nations were present.

I could send an Air National Guard unit which uses repurposed F-14s, so as not to tech wank with our standard YF-23s... I could even send A-10s, which would likely need to be escorted for war games purposes.

Added Operation Icarus to the future mission tab.

Good to see Unit 50 is now fucking TFA canon.

It isn't a TFA wargame, tho. It's a regional Voxian thing.

Keep in mind, the last time y'all saw Foyt, it was on an open broadcast:
Hurtful Thoughts wrote:Gibbons snapped his fingers, "Get me a webcam and an uplink to Nexus." He ordered, pointing at Adrian. "Foyt, bag the prisoners."

As they'd done so, he made ready to make his presentation as Adrian made the final connections and gave him the go-ahead.

"Nexus. I suspect you know the group responsible for the attack upon the Vindication, and the attack upon our unit; I would like you to relay a messege to them." He stated, trying not to conjugate any words, as formality in such declarations was a thing of importance. "As you can see, we have taken some prisoners. These people would attack us again if at all given the opprotunity in the future. We have already interrogated them. We have very little use for them, except to bargain with their leader with."

Foyt could be seen, the sturdy fellow that he was, running his finger along the sharpened edge of an un-sheathed trench-axe.

"I'd like that leader to know that he can end this, at any time. But until then, we shall work, we shall save, we shall sacrifice, we shall endure. We shall cheerfully and do our utmost, as if the issue of the whole operation depended on ourselves, and ourselves alone. But also we wish to let them know that peace is our highhest aspiration of all Hurti people; we will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it. We shall not surrender for it, now and forever. If they do not wish for peace with us, well..."

In the background, Foyt could be seen raising his axe over Charlie, swinging down and landing a harsh bludgeoning upon the specialist's back as he finished, removing him from frame, Gibbons merely turned as a red viscus fluid was splattered across the cabin, some of the matter hitting Lieghton's hands.

"We shall hurt 'em plenty for it."

So although Hurties are very "It's water under the bridge" about it, it's also canon that they aren't above turning around and caving-in a comrade's head with a shovel mid-extraction whilst making a thinly vieled public declaration of war.

The air force part is for Voxians, the TFA guys are in transit to start operating in a neighbouring province until it all went to shit, so they're getting redirected. It's part 2 of the "Should Lauzanne commit more to TFA?" Wild Wild west is them working with others, and this is now the 2IC of Razvedka assessing the TFA guys and how well they work in-country. Think of it as like "Lauzanne helps TFA, TFA helps Lauzanne"

We normally do one mission at a time. Running two missions concurrently will cut into the activity of one or both. If you mean the side war games gone hot event, that's not technically a TFA thing. I still hope to get involved there at least in a limited scale.
