It'd be an honor and a privilege to have Hurti troops on board.

My OOC goal with this mission is to help restart with a simple outline and basic tactics.. Just something to get the wheels rolling. I'll also try to help it flow quickly. I can RP OPFOR using the Yanjin account. I'll likely throw a few surprises. But we should be ready for the next step not long after that one starts. So feel free to get other ideas ready everyone. This is just a quick statement RP. Coming back with style and such...

I like Lauzanne's idea. URA and I kicked around the idea of making a 'sandbox' style thread, potentially as a new bar and grill type RP. Maybe it could be a temporary base or even advanced FOB in a semi-hostile area. The idea would be that, in addition to usual off duty posts, RPers could also do one off mission posts there. For example, maybe you take your team out for a quick HVT grab. We could even come up with one of those 'Playing Card HVT' charts. One could RP whatever mission seemed to fit within the scheme of things, letting folks build TFA writing even between missions and in downtime.

One could write a series of posts if they want or have an unofficial chain of events in sector. I could make the puppet, but I'm sure others have ideas for it as well. Lauzanne's idea could even fit in, especially if they prove themselves as a member in the next operation or two. I've been in contact with them about the Yanjin idea and they seem eager.

The sandbox idea is just something kicking around, so nothing has been decided there. I'd be interested in seeing and helping to create the puppet. If we made it, maybe its something we could even design together. One person could accept factbook contributions and organize it while we work as a community.

Yes indeed! There's even a mission up looking for teams. The previous page has thoughts from URA as well.

Vang, I'm highly interested in your op. However I need to know what role ISAFSF/SO could play so I know which special forces group to dedicate.

I could do the breakroom if people wanted.

As far as teams, I visualized 4. RPers can pick which role fits best. -One team lands on the roof by stealth helicopter. Vangaziland has these in country because of the ongoing conflict.

-Another team will basically assault the bank and take the funds. There may be a lot of assets, so it might take a lot of people to physically remove the cash.

-A weapons team will be on the ridge. Since hostilities have died down in Yanjin, they have become somewhat lax. Most soldiers will be in a barracks building down the road. The weapons team will ambush any units heading to respond at the generals HQ residence. They’ll basically be in bed. There will be some resistance here, but probably mostly on the first floor.

-Another team will be on the tallest hillside, acting as observers for indirect fire and/or air support. I’ll probably have at least one person here, since that was once my job. We’re going to be risky and land the first helos at the HQ before the fire mission takes out the air defense artillery. We’re assuming we can bring those helos in at the right route where it won’t be visually seen and is stealthy enough to ingress.

The strikes will take out the one or two major systems we see. Yet, there’s always the threat of MANPADS from a barracks soldier or nearby guard. So risk is there. We will excel by helicopter, so we’ll likely move to several different egress points (which I probably should have specified... rusty)

-There is also room for a QRF team flying above in helicopter. They can respond in case one team runs into trouble, or even simply help loading cash assets. The QRF slot is also good for someone who wants to be in the op, but might only have time for an intro post only, or maybe a few short posts without getting fully involved.

I’ll write OPFOR, but I want people to have some freedom in possibly adding on a few enemies acting in response. If anything, use the Yanjin Factbooks to see what they use... Basically Chinese vehicles and weapons. There may be a few surprises or plot twists I’m not mentioning yet, so have forces prepared.

Oh, and Vangaziland has established air superiority by this point in the conflict.

Blackjacks can handle the bank job if everyone would be chill with that. I would need 2 more team members than usual to bring along for my team since it's going to be a lot of assets according to Van.

I might send my intel agency operative ‘Don Frazor’ to help secure funds. Maybe he knows a code to the vault. Maybe he interrogates the limited bank staff on duty at that odd hour of the night.

Personally, I was just counting on calling in a single MLRS on the bank and raiding the ruins while team pulls perimeter-security.

Everything after that is just exfil.

... I just suggested a very Hurti thing and it actually made sense again, didn't I?

There’s room for Hurti soldiers to also move to the bank and help with the grab.

If we did want to go with the bank busting call for fire, I’d suggest mortars. They’d have that concussive effect with less oomph than a rocket strike. We could always add mortar support.ninthink the team from New Hayesalia used to wield mortars. It has less range, so a secondary team would have to be close by.

We could have a tier 2 Vannish team nearby to donate a section of mortars.

k, I'll bring mortars... 60, 82, or 120mm?

Or shall it just be a trio of M40 Recoilless-Rifle Vespas?

Well, exfil involves either removing all air-defenses in the area, or Mad-Max'n our way out on stolen pickup-trucks loaded with gold.

You might need 120mm if you really want to pop it. Mortars aren’t the best against hard targets. I do like the angle of getting in there and hacking or C4ing the vault though. Mortars could have adverse effects, like burying the vault in rubble or something like that. But it’s still an idea.

Taking out ADA/anti air assets is a good idea. We plan to call for fire. We could get fun and use different assets for different ADA pieces. For example, maybe we call a rocket on a more armored missile truck. But maybe our team will call to yours to set up a mortar strike on more of an AAA gun pit.

Mercenaries just add a lot of weird questions to this mix.

Like when they added them to Rainbow Six Siege.

Who's paying for them? Who hired them? Atlas wouldn't be paying them, so someone else would be. What are their mission parameters, since PMCs usually have very strict rules in relation to military, as per their contracts. Will they play with the command structure?

I'm not 100% against the proposal, I just need an explanation. One of two explanations will satiate me. The first is a more-or-less detailed outline of "how mercenaries?" The second explanation is "can we just handwave this and roll with it?"

I think we should just like... NOT make this more complicated than it should. Just walk in, get the bank codes from someone, go loud if necessary and hold off local resistance if necessary, grab the money and go.
