so for the initial app do we also need to fill out the other app for individual operators or can we do that after being accepted
Breaking News! Chancellor Kasel has announced another foreign intervention in the country of Laraosi. This move has been echoed with some praise, but many are decrying the move as another "Capilean Folly." The Chancellor is scheduled to give a speech on the matter in the next few days.

OOC: Filling out an application, and I have a question. What does the "NS Activity" portion mean? Do I need to tell what I've done on NS? Or is it something else?

Name of Nation: The Armed Republic of Socialist Macronesia

Name of Organization: Socialist Macronesian Joint Command

Name of Unit: SIERRA

Detailed Unit Loadout:

Standard loadout changes depending on op (for example, not bringing crew-served weapons if being airdropped) but some base items are always used.
The primary arm is always either the CR-308 in .308 (10rnd mag), TSMG-68 in 6.8 SMA (20rnd mag), the CR-68 in 6.8 SMA (30rnd mag), the M-68 LMG in 6.8 SMA (250rnd belt/box), or the RAID assault shotgun in 12 gauge
00 buckshot(20rnd double tube fed). The main sidearm is the SM-9A handgun in 9mm. Sometimes the weapons are suppressed.
If heavier weapons are in use, the Hornet MANDPADs is used, alongside the ATLAS (Anti Tank Launcher Assault System) ATGM.

The HIDS (high impact diversion system) is the primary plate carrier, capable of holding 3 mags and 4 grenades. 4 extra primary mags and 3 extra secondary mags stored on their person, with 630 rounds extra in stripper clips in their bags. Extra ammo crates brought in if the operation requires. Assistant MG carries extra ammo for the MG as well, around 500 rounds or more. Shotgun users ammo counts varies depending on mission, usually about 150 or more shells on their person.

The primary grenades are the S-22 stun grenade, the M-102 explosive grenade, the B-69 thermite grenade, and the A-44 smoke grenade.

Each man carries a 2 liter canteen, water pruification tabs, and enough food for 5 days.
Each man also carries a flashlight, three flares, and 3 chemlights, along with the MNVS (modular night visibility system) cabible of both thermal and standard NV.

Vehicles include:
VALV-C/T/S/A (vertical ascent and landing vehicle, Cargo/Transport/Stealth/Attack types respectively) (Attack variant has two side mounted 30mm chainguns, 4 ATLAS tubes, 10 Inferno missiles, and one 30mm chaingun in the front)
Commissioner APCs (equipped with a 20mm cannon)
MK-19A attack chopper (attack chopper equipped with a 30mm chaingun, 2 ATLAS tubes, 6 Inferno antitank missiles, 24 unguided rockets.
U-9 Spotter UAVs, equipped with 1 Inferno-P (precision warhead/guidance) missile
Paperlite portable surveillance drone
Other vehicles as needed

Everything else is entirely variable for the mission.


Appearance/Description of Operator:
Each operation requires different gear, so the uniform changes based on the conditions. No pictures of SIERRA exist, but it is known they have used urban camo, and that they have used multicam.

Biography of Unit:
After our current president took power, he diverted enormous sums of cash to the military to keep us stable. His current military advisor, Alexander Lewis, created three tactical response teams. BRAVO was the designation for the lowest class team. They work for national intelligence and are built to run ops within the country. ALPHA was the designation for the medium class team. They were designed to run large military operations in the nation or launch singular ops against HVTs in foreign nations. And then there was SIERRA. SIERRA was designed to be silent, escaping from operations without a sound. They were designed to run large ops behind enemy lines for longer than a month, while staying in stealth.

After an attack was made on Patrick Valdez, the WA ambassador, by Terewanian militants, and a sniper at the location (found not to be related to the rebels but knew that the attack was occurring) was sent to Terewan and was found out that the train transport would be captured and the sniper taken, SIERRA was sent to Terewan, where they hijacked the breakout attempt, killed several guards, and made away with the sniper. After learning the whereabouts of the sniper's organisation safehouse, they infiltrated it, capturing key intel on the militants. They stormed the Terewan Arms Depot and made off with the records, revealing that the assault was government funded by Terewan, and allowing Socialist Macronesia to liberate Terewan with help from the WA. SIERRA was sent back home before the war began.

All SIERRA units are experienced in many different ways of insertion, including helicopter, parachuting, and naval insertions. They are all experienced in CQC and hand to hand, usually learning some kind of martial arts. They also are fluent in more than one language. They all are top shooters with both their primary, but also their sidearm.

Operators of the Unit:

The two most important officers (the commander and his secondary) have files. I haven't written the rest, as it would take all to long to make a name and story for each and every operator (as there are 32). That may change.

Biographical Information: Born in Fort Ross, the capitol complex, he was the son of two high ranking officials. He grew up pampered, but wanted to live a life doing something for his country that wasn't being a diplomat. He secretly began sneaking out to the base's firing range with some soldiers and began to learn to shoot well. When it was time for his conscription, his parent told him to join a office division, as they feared for his safety. Instead, Nate joined the 12th Airborne. He received a medal for Bravery Under Fire when he and his battalion were ambushed, killing a large number of paratroopers. Nate took out a turret and proceeded to cover the rest of the battalion's escape, alongside several other fellow soldiers. He caused them to retreat and was able to escape successfully. This attracted the attention of BRAVO, who recruited him. After he served in BRAVO for two years, ALPHA approached him and asked if he would like to transfer. He said yes and served in ALPHA for five years, and finally was contacted by SIERRA, who recruited him, where he has served for 4 years. 3 years in, before the Terewan conflict, he was promoted to the head command position.
Psychological Profile: He is a natural in-battle commander. He refuses to put the lives of others before his mission and will not betray anyone he is truly loyal to. He is willing to die for the mission, but only if it saves lives in the progress.
Training: Airborne training, leaned shooting at age 14, trained in silent and dynamic entry, basic lock picking skills, attended officer school. Speaks English, Spanish, French, and German.
Notable Experience: 2 years of Airborne, 2 years of BRAVO team, 5 years of ALPHA team, 4 years SIERRA, one year of which in head command position. Bravery Under Fire medal.
Typical Loadout: Standard equipment, with the addition of a SAT-LINK communication device. Usually uses rifles or SMGs.

She operated for 2 years in BRAVO, 2 years in ALPHA, and has been in SIERRA 8 years. She would become the secondary commander after SIERRA 7's death, while SIERRA 8 would become the primary commander. She is on track to becoming the next leader in three years.

An AA attack resulted in his pilot being killed. Taking charge of the helicopter, he managed to take the heli to the destroyer, where he led his team to board, and take over, the destroyer, saving countless lives from a potential naval bombardment and earning him a Bravery Under Fire medal. Joined BRAVO, rapidly advanced in only one year to ALPHA, spent 3 years in alpha before advancing to SIERRA. Served in head command for 4 years, dropped down to secondary before the Terewan conflict with SIERRA 7 taking his place.

Spare ammo does not need to go within spare magazines.

Although you really would want more than four mags... Probably going to want enough to last you five minutes of just shooting, at a minimum.You'll more than likely need about 200 to 300 rounds on-tap with at least twice that in resserve. So anywhere from 810 (210/600) to 1200 (300/900) rounds.

You'll notice that is roughly just enough dakka to last you 30 minutes (in practice it lasts a bit longer, since nobody is going to stand in the open getting shot at for a solid 30 minutes).

Would like to point out that if a Tier One team, such as SIERRA got into any kind of firefight that led to them needing more than the 210 rounds at hand plus secondary, they probably screwed up. If they thought any potential of ambush or attack would be present and they could help it, they'd keep some VALV-As on standby. That, or a VALV-C/T with troops/supplies.

For example, let's say SIERRA is attacking a military base in Examplia. They know that there is a chance of ambush. So, they gain intel on the compound. Scans with satellite imagery show no problems within the compound. However, some lucky drone imaging shows that several planes, with a large amount of Exampelian troops have arrived, but the troops are nowhere to be seen. At the same time, recon reports that the troops aren't inside the compound. Conclusion: an ambush is staged. If the mission was critical/impossible without SIERRA's presence, full attack, complete with VALV strikes and landings. If the mission wasn't critical, scrub mission, send in ALPHA, backed by full military support, artillery/MLRS strikes, and strategic bombing.

Of course, if SIERRA lacked information, that'd be the first mistake they made. SF teams are good, but if they went head-to-head against a modern army they'd get slaughtered. Their advantage is that they are well training, informed, and equiped.

Going to point out that the ammunition load of a Grunt getting airlifted to LZ X-ray was packing at a minimum 800 rounds ready to go.

Tier 1 means if shit goeth sidewards with your back against the wall, help ain't coming anytime soon.

In addition to carrying all that ammo, carry at least two or three rifles. Totes works like a dream.

Okay, I understand my ammo capacity sucks, but two or three rifles? Wouldn't that take away from being able to carry actual mission equipment? I can see two or more sidearms because they don't weigh as much, but if you're carrying three rifles, as well as everything else, not only will that take up space, but you can't move as fast...

...which is one of SF teams useful attributes.

Also, I added 600 reserve in stripper clips. Think that'll be enough?
