7 'Gwyllgi' Troop

Biography of Unit:
The Commando Reconnaissance Regiment or CCR was formed in 1906 by Colonel Aeron ap Cledwyn (formerly Royal Loegrian Lancers) in order to provide higher levels of sophisticated reconnaissance other than just light cavalry. It did however originate as a mounted unit and it's cavalry origins are reflected in its ceremonial traditions such as the wearing of spurs in formal mess and parade dress, officers and warrant officers wearing a cartouche and curved light cavalry sabre. A stickler for discipline, he keeps everyone firmly up to scratch and is one of the most combat experienced soldiers in the unit. He is also a highly skilled sniper.
-OPSWO Warrant Officer Class 1 Heilyn ap Merfyn; a gruff SNCO who has spent most of his military career in the CCR, after two years as a rifleman in the Royal Belecoed Foresters, a light infantry regiment. Heilyn obsesses over logistical details and has an eagle eye for discrepancies which has saved those under his command many a time. He regularly gives discreet advice to his well-born seniors and is respected.
-Radio Operator Staff Sergeant Caomhin MacFiachna; it is a great irony that perhaps the least comprehensible member of the Troop is the radio operator, Caomhin being a Caledonian from the northern Kingdom of the empire. Caomhin, originally from the Imperial Signals Corps, attached to 22 Air Assault Brigade, is no stranger to airmobile operations and is a tough member of the unit, always up for a scrap.
-Medic Staff Sergeant Ofydd Gwlântroellwr; the unit medic and former combat medic from the Imperial Army Medical Corps attached to 13 Armoured Division. He is a cynical chap and very much jaded by things he has seen. A functioning alcoholic and also one of the better read members of the unit. Ofydd is an adept fighter and a solid marksman.
-Combat Engineer Staff Sergeant Steffan ap Meirion; the unit engineer, responsible for fixing broken equipment and performing acts of technical sabotage against enemy targets. A recent addition to the unit from the Imperial Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Steffan has only recently passed out of the Imperial Commando Course.
Electronic Warfare Officer Captain Ciàran MacDàibhidh; a Caledonian officer from the Imperial Signals Corps, Ciaran specialises in electronic warfare, jamming signals, hacking local networks and where possible feeding counter intelligence. Another Caledonian, though is from upper middle class stock. Fond of grenades when in combat.
HUMINT Officer Captain Morgan ap Rhydderch; a shrewd and fiercely sharp officer transferred from the Imperial Intelligence Corps. A rigorous interrogator and a skilled linguist he also has a highly adept eye for tracking down humans in the wilderness. Morgan is considered one of the army's finest intelligence officers and has previously served both in the combat role and in unit HQs.

Lieutenant Trystan ap Rhodri is the youngest member of the unit and like Steffan is a recent addition fresh from the Imperial Commando Course. Although an officer he is viewed as the unit mong and is mocked for his highly aristocratic nature, particularly his regiment of original commission: the Knights of the Guard; the crème de la crème of the cavalry and indeed the army, providing the Emperor with a personal ceremonial mounted guard, but also serves in the armoured role and deploying into the field with squadrons of MBTs. Trystan is nonetheless a good navigator and a fitness freak, not to mention supplying a lot of unit morale.
