At the International Meeting Complex, the Vectorian delegation whisked around the building ensuring that their meeting was up to standards. While the Republic was no stranger to foreign events, this one was a big one. An important one. One that would change the lives of millions of people. Built right near to the airport, foreign delegations as they arrived simply hopped onto the VIP railway, and within minutes were pulling up to the complex.

As all of the delegates arrived, they were escorted to their assigned seating position as the room slowly filled with people from cross the GD region. Some new faces, some old faces, there would be time to socialize afterwards. For now, it was time to negotiate. With everyone there, the conference started.

Senoir Undersecretary for Diplomatic Relations for Sector 12 Jonah Traskel walked confidently wearing a long red silk dress with an emerald necklace and ring and hi heels, followed by her single aide who was wearing a blue striped pants suit and skirt with flats. Traskle was on the short side at only 5' 10' for the Merican average, but like all representatives from the Republic, she was extremely attractive. Women often found themselves in these diplomatic positions because they were nicer than the men of the Democratic Republic, while still capable of being just as cunning and ruthless if not more so. Traskel was escorted into the assembly hall and shown her seat.
The only reason for her presents was the genocide occurring in Potthan, a land of barbarians and backward culture even by the Timocratic Republic's standards. The Timocratic Republic was also making on going efforts to be more involved in international scene and less isolationist, which it was well on its way to doing but in a far less peaceful manner than what Traskel was currently involved in.
Orders re to not get involved thought Traskel as she took her seat Observers for sure, and maybe relief aide at the most.
Possibly evacuation of the affected parties home. After all we can always use more cannon fodder.

She sat and waited patenitly with no outward sign of her inner thoughts and waited for the summit to begin.

I choose the second definition of it. This meaning rule by virtue and not owning land to be allowed to vote or hold political office. Instead one is required to serve time in the military (currently 6 years)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to thank you all for your presence here today.

The purpose of this conference is to allow every nation to voice their questions, concerns, and related course of action, and more importantly; justify them, on a respectful field that is this conference.

Now we are privileged to have in our presence a delegation from the nation of Potthan, who will be able to answer questions that arise during the course of these talks. Furthermore we a special group from The Golden Throne to mediate these discussions. As we have many guests gathered here today, the representatives from The Golden throne will be directing the flow of the conversations so that we are not stuck here for days on end.

Now, I would like to call upon the international community to open with any presentations about the crisis to start us off.

30 Years ago, Mokastana could barely keep a functioning government, and yet, now, they were sending a delegation to a meeting on the other side of the Region because their opinions held weight. Many of the older diplomats still carried the mindset of the original Foreign Ministry founded under Nicolas Villa. A cautious approach to international relations. Expectations that everyone was really an enemy, and that even allies needed to be watched, all thoughts that continued under Nicolas' brother Charles. Yet, Elizabeth had been taking the Ministry in a new direction, a youthful one. Born after the founding of the Confederation, and being only a child at the revision into the Federation, Elizabeth had spent her life watching the Mokan Federation grow and grow. Its cities becoming internationally renown, and even hosting multiple international Galas to bring the nations of Greater Dienstad closer and closer together. Yet, it was one of those nations, Potthan to be exact, that meant she now flew thousands of Kilometers to the opposite side of the Region, to meet with fellow delegates to decide how to handle the genocide of a people so far away...

Entering the room, Elizabeth Franshaw brought with her her two best aides, and her personal security guard. Weapons were checked in, a strange feeling for a Mokan Diplomatic mission to be unarmed, but it was the rules of the host.

Taking their seats, the representatives from the East, The People's Unified Federation, sat and listened, curious what direction this event would take.

Potthan had never not been an issue for the Federalist Republic. Recent events did not serve to alleviate that.

When recent events had the whole of the region crying out about needing to talk about them, the Mobutian response could have been described best as a very flat expression, a quirked eyebrow, and a flat, "Really? Now we want to talk?" and then a resigned sigh as they realized the rest of the world would act like they'd said nothing before now.

President Maikel Cruyssen himself would be leading the Sha Mobutian delagation, both as a representative of the FRSM itself and of the Romani-Mar'si Union. He had felt the job was far too important to have one of his subordinates shoulder the burden while he remained safe and comfortable at home. So he had arranged things back on the homefront to function fine without his presence - a good side-effect of fail-safe and fail-deadly contingencies that assumed the head of state would be unable to authorize things - and had packed for several days spent abroad. While the summit allowed only for four total individuals to attend for any one party, it had said nothing about security contingents overall, and so there was a small squad of armed and waiting Marines at the airport with his plane should anything come up and two more guards at his hotel. In his personal company was a single aid and two security guard. He wasn't willing to not have himself covered with the sorts of people who would be in attendance and with the topic of discussion being what it was.

Everybody in the four-person party was compliant with the guards when they approached. It was true that none of them were fond of the idea, but they still disarmed themselves when requested. Even if the President drawing a pistol garnered a strange look from the young man collecting their weapons for storage. When that was taken care of the group headed into the meeting room within which the summit-proper was being held. They found their seats and made themselves as comfortable as possible: checking the microphone and scanning the room as President Cruyssen waited to see if any of the larger and frankly more individually powerful nations would speak first.

Darwin Sallop rose to the small platform at front of the room and spoke to the crowd gathered in front of him.
“While everyone is getting comfortable, I would like to start by playing this short video of The Story of Nanshi Bukrhaan. I am sure that many of you have seen it before, but in lights of keeping everything fresh in our heads as we lead into these discussions, here it is.”

A young female voice read the words that appeared on the screen;
My name is Nanshi Bukrhaan. I am a 17 year old girl from Kavash. I write this as I recently escaped Potthan. My parents were crucified and my brother was skinned alive. I am the only surviving member of my family. This is my story.

I wasn't the best kid but I wan't the worst. I did most of my chores and occasionally got into trouble with friends. I lived in the slums of Kavash, where a many of people advocated for Communism to be placed due to poor conditions for the poor and enslaved. It wasn't too bad, the poor had it much worse in other nations.

My parents weren't very political, but my brother was always ranting about how the poor class can't be treated like dogs and that we should do something. At the time of his death he was 23. He was out at all times of the night with his friends, who were Communist as well. They'd preach about government tyranny and such. Though up until recently the most he got were dirty looks. After what the Communist suspect was an assassination of Senator Kukraan he went to riot with some friends of his at the city's square. He was met with brute police force and came home with a black eye and a bruised shoulder.

Could've been worse. His friend had his legs broken and his teeth smashed. I've never had a run in with the police, not that I'd want to. They're more like soldiers.

The morning of the massacre I was already having a bad day. I stayed up late and was feeling really tired. It was around 11:30 I heard several loud bangs and screaming. I went to look outside and was almost hit by what I thought were rocks. Looking back at it now, they were bullets. The military went from house to house and shop to shop finding men and women who were on "the list". It was a long list of rioters and protesters spotted at the riots. They did all kinds of things to them. They hung them in the street,s skinned them alive, lynched them, crucified them, beheaded them, and so on. Crucifixion was popular. Those seemed to go on and on and on.

When they got to my brother he tried to run but they shot him in the leg. They then tied him upside down and... Cut him open and ripped his skin off. He screamed and screamed but then suddenly stopped. Then they crucified my parents. They got to me and beat me until I was unconscious and cut my tongue out. They shook me awake and then threw me in a mass grave site.

I was found by a policeman and carried to an old burned down building to safety where I'd stay until we'd escape Potthan. This is my story.

“Now ladies and gentlemen of the Greater Dienstad. I put fourth this question.
Representatives of Potthan, why did the events of Kavash happen as they did?” Mr. Sallop awaited a reply.

For Potthani delegates were sent to attend the meeting. Three of them were merely for show and one was the main rep of them all. A woman named Janji Kalakai. In her mid 30s she has already surpassed her father's legacy. Not very famous outside of Potthan, but inside she is very powerful and influential. The weapons check seemed suspicious but was in all honesty a mistake although at first glance it being suspicious. When asked to remove their weapons, each and every delegate awkwardly pulled out derringers, pistols, and even a sawed off shotgun. Those who knew Potthani culture knew that politicians are heavily armed due to them also frequently dueling.

They sat down and watched as the short video of the story of a Potthani refugee played, and then stood up to answer the first question.

Janji stoop proud and spoke, "Ladies and Gentlemen of this Summit, the evidence shown before you looks grim. There is no denying that. However, in times of war mistakes are made and civilians are put in danger. The Communist threat that faced Potthan and still faces Potthan is one not understood by all. Please know this though, these rebels were nothing more than bullies proven to be extorting money from local business and making threats to government establishments manned by civilian workers." Janji then took a small sip of water and continued. "If we had not dealt with this issue the rebels would have spread from the slums and into richer parts of Kavash, harming corporations even. I will admit civilians did die, but I refuse to admit that any rebel that died the way they did didn't deserve what happened to them. The story of this girl is clearly just a mistake that happens often during wartime." Janji said and then sat down and awaited response.

Undersecratery Jonah Traskel snorts loudly and then stands up
"Yes I have a question. Has the Grand Empire-" her tone of vioce made it clear that air quotes were around those last two words "Of Potthan ever fought a war against someone who could fight back effectively? Or do your troops just enjoy butchering civilians for sport? Have they ever actually trained at anything other than kill the unarmed civilian or rape the young defenseless girl? Do they even know how to fight a war? Does your government actively enjoy killing and raping and murder that it is currently engaged in? Or is this just there version of a temper tantrum?"
Traskel stops and takes a breath
"You may ask why am I, the Representative of a nation of mercenary casting such insults? Simply this, we may fight for money but we always do our best to limit damage to civilians and always fight though that can at least stand a chance of fighting back. Such cruelty as your government seems to love to indulge in is even horrifying to us for it is without purposes and goal. There is no end to it. As for your claims- HA HA HA. I laugh in the face of them. You insult everyone in this room with you attempts to lie to us when you know full well that we are aware this is closer to the norm than the outlier you claim it to be. You know we all have access to independent reports and our own sources of information and then to have the gall to go ahead and attempt to lie to us...if we where in my home nation, I would challenge you to a duel for such a grave insult as you have offered us. Please no more lies or pretending. Call it what it is, genocide."
Finished she resumes her seat.

Eolmann has always pride itself in its citizen's pride to their duty: every man, woman and children had a gift for productivity and all did their part. In return the government allowed them to live as they pleased, provided they followed the few rules to protect them from themselves. Yet as the First Man Osbert Vawdrey sat in muted silence, listening to the summit along with his aide and flanked by his two now-unarmed bodyguards, he wondered how he would have dealt with Potthani's situation had he been a leader of their questionable country. Phillipa had suggested that she go in his stead to the summit but some things were best attended personally: the region's political stability was something that earned his attention. It was time for Eolmann to take the region's needs into their own accounts, but god forbid it couldn't have been something simpler than a full blown rebellion.

Or as everyone within his cabinet would say, 'notional' rebellion. He had his doubts, like most of his people. They weren't called the saltborn for no reason:
every news was to be taken with a grain, pinch or tablespoon of salt. On to more pertinent matters as he listened to the delegates ask their questions, his mind wandered of to his original question: How would he have dealt with this scenario personally? His country had a potent dislike for communist which given their personal history was understandable. Yet to attack their own people also for religious differences? Plenty of Eolmann's were similarly outraged at the notion that something so intimate as who they chose to believe in was enough justification for bombing their own citizens. Attacking their own citizens also struck a personal chord with the older population who had felt the harsh strikes from the Rauður party decades ago. What had they did to warrant a full scale military action?

Justifications, justifications, justifications: the leader sighed and took a sip of water, drumming his fingers and listening with dull interest as the Potthani delegate finished her statement. He rolled his eyes when another representatives begun their question- no, tirade which was more suitable in the common bar than a summit. Someone needed to point out how her language would get no one anywhere, but Vawdrey was a patient man. He was also, unlike others in the room, less prone to egoistical outbursts.

When no one else said anything he raised a hand as customary in his nation and stood up. The air in the room was tense, filled with excitement. No different from any cabinet waiting to pass upon a legislation. "Ladies and Gentlemen, inestimable leaders of their own respective nations: We, the Mannian People have a strong belief that any government with proper moral and statistical justification has the right to impose acts upon their own people, whether militarily or economically, harsh or light." He paused to gauge the reactions.

"But for the Potthani government to attack an entire city, labeling a portion of them as communist and damning them for their religious beliefs? Representatives of Potthan, my question to you is this: where is the evidence? On what statistical average do you profess that the entire city of Kavash to be deemed expendable to meet your own political agenda? Are there any government censuses, military investigations or any other proof which you would like to bring to us which justifies the use of military forces against your own civilians?"

Janji looked fierce at the undersecretary and stood up whilst calmly saying, "The Potthani Legion has been in various armed conflicts with nations, all of which had armed subjects. Let's also not forget that these innocent people are criminals wanted by the Potthani Senate of Justice for treason." Janji then took out a document she kept in a briefcase and held it up high. "This here is a warrant for the arrest of Ms. Nanshi Bukrhaan. She is wanted for: Treason, Failure to Report Criminal Activity, and is now wanted for Defamation of the State." Janji said confidently. "From a legal standpoint she is neither innocent nor trustworthy. As I have said Mr. Traskel, many mistakes were made in Kavash and investigations are under way as to the people who made them and if the things they did were justified." Janji said before reaching into her briefcase again to pull out another document. "Here entitles the two officers who arrested and executed Ms. Bukrhaan's family. Decanus Jamhes Denate and Cadet Jon Nashtaag. Investigated by police and determined their actions were justified. No punishment was given." said Janji. "No punishment was made because there is no evidence proving that these fine young men assaulted this young girl." Janji said before sitting down and hearing out more questions.

She sat as the respectable Vawdrey asked his questions. "I'm actually glad you have asked that Mr. Vawdrey" Janji said as she shuffled through papers in her briefcase. "Here I have is a detailed military report conducted by several undercover officers hanging out in places like bars, inns, and other popular gatherings. An array of anti-Potthan and pro-Communist conversations have been had, some personally with the agents. As for a political census, a survey conducted by an undercover fake Communist group had a large amount of people, estimated around 90,000, detail their political views. A shocking 78% of them reported Communist or Marxist views and 82% wished a new government would appear." Janji said as she sipped the complimentary bottled water. "While as I've told Mr. Traskel, there were mistakes made on our side, the majority of the actions committed in Kavash were not unjustified." Janji said before sitting down and awaiting another delegate.

Maikel and his staff watched with cool and unemotive expressions as the text was displayed and the narrator spoke on. They'd all seen it when it came out, many times.

The President even sat quietly as the Undersecretary spoke her piece. Even then his expression was still as unemotive and untelling as before. There was a clamor, of course, as various nations staff and representatives talked among themselves or to one another. His own aid acted as his buffer answering 'on behalf of the FRSM and Union' in a way that could be simplified down to 'wait for the man to speak if you want the official stance'.

Then of course the representative of Eolmann - their own head of state and a long-time friend of the Mobutian president - stood up to speak his piece. He was far less accusatory in what he said and quite simply in how he said it. Of course he was guarded about it: he had every reason to be with his nations history and this honest-to-the-gods calamity of human rights abuse happening so close to his south. His closing seemed to bring much less clamor and anger to the room than the first speaker.

When silence and order began to restore itself, Maikel raised a few fingers in a sign that he wished to take the floor, and didn't even rise from his seat as he spoke.

He began, "I believe what my esteemed colleagues are trying to say is this: by the general definition of any nation in attendance, to include yourselves I imagine, it could be argued that what you did was a human rights crime. One of my own citizens, a man by the name of Luuk Coenen, was killed when your troops stormed into the city. His death would have been a rather painful and violent affair if reports are to be believed. You mark that young woman as a criminal because she gave a candid telling of what she and her loved ones endured. You mark others worthy of death for nothing more than a complete failure at understanding economics. Nor could I imagine simply speaking in favor of a new way of doing things could warrant such violence. You had people drawn and quartered, crucified, and skinned alive. Where I come from even our most violent criminals are simply killed if we feel it necessary. And even then,"

He nodded to the person in charge of controlling the screen, and then produced a featureless black envelope that he handed to his aid.

"We have the decency to give them their own graves."

Images were presented. They were clearly satellite imagery, low orbit with high clarity of image. What they depicted was obvious enough with trucks at the end or coming down obviously well-worn paths. Massive depressions that were dark with the bodies of the dead and likely dying. If the imagery was accurate then they likely weren't even given the passing decency of body-bags before they'd be thrown in among the others. Other images that came to the screen were otherwise indistinguishable dark shapes as viewed from directly above, but in light of the setting sun cast the long shadows of crosses onto the ground. After a few moments the President spoke again, "You see here images taken by Union satellites passing over your territory in the days following initial strikes into the city. Go ahead and burn or shred up the copies in your hand if it feels cathartic, we took several and have copies, but while you are doing that would you kindly explain this away? This wholesale slaughter in job-lots? This casual barbarism directed at your own citizens?"

Finally finished speaking, Maikel grabbed gingerly for his water, and took a long drink while keeping eyes locked on the Potthani delegation.

"Surely you do not expect us to give graves to traitors. Even then, there were too many criminals convicted to give individual graves immediately. These mass graves are temporary corpse containment until the situation is defused and labor workers can provide them with their own graves." said Janji whilst the other Potthani delegates mumbled to themselves in their native tongue. "As for the ways they died, this is merely a deterrent of crime. You are less likely to commit crime if you know very bad things will happen if you get caught." Janji paused before speaking again. "There is no excuse to commit treason to a benevolent government like ours and against such a great leader like ours. Emperor Jericho III has given mass amounts of money to charities across Potthan." Janji said. "In conclusion, the fate of said criminals aren't unjust, however what you claim isn't entirely true." Janji stated before sitting down and spoke quietly to her peers.

The First Man shifted uncomfortably in his seat, listening to the representative defend her country's actions with ardent faith that only total indoctrination could achieve. He should know, his government had been subtly doing it for decades now. Maikel's satellite imagery wasn't so much of a suprise to the man as was how vehemently Janji was justifying the casual acts of violence against her own citizens. Callous, insensitive: he could smell the silver from the spoon in her mouth even from afar.

Vawdrey looked at his aide and gestured for his reading glasses. The baby-faced man handed it to his leader, who scanned through the Mobutian pictures, trying to detect any hint of forgery. In this day and age it was very easy for any government to come up with a number of 'evidence' or 'proof' to justify their own actions, and even close allies did not earn a free pass through the observant Mannian.

There was nothing he could detect, no slight warping around the edges. Either Maikel had a very talented staff on his team or the images were genuine, and the man had not been known to play a bluff for a very long time. He smirked to himself, taking another sip of the water to clear his throat. Eolmann had not been to war for a very long time and that was how he liked it: it gave him more time to completely stabilize his own situation and strengthen the trade-dependent economy. Globalists be damned, he didn't like the sound of being too dependent on neighbouring nations for food on his own people's plate. He leaned towards his microphone and cleared his throat, signing his wish to speak. When the room fell to a quiet calm he spoke, not bothering to stand up: he had shown his respect, but no more than that.

"Madam Janji, your government-" he added a subtle emphasis on his word, "- appears to be run very efficiently to be able to provide such an accurate and detailed analysis of the political and economical composition of Kavash. What interests my people is among- how many have died now, hundreds? Thousands? Can you say for certainty that every single one of those corpses were ardent communists and muslims before their untimely demise? You have stated repeatedly in this summit that your government like many others is prone to mistakes and we hold nothing against you for saying this. But what you state and what you present seem to appear to be on two very contradictory levels."

He took off his reading glasses and stared at the lady, trying to gauge her character. "None of us are denying how 'charitable' your leader is; I myself have several non-profit organizations under my name, Sha Mobutia by definition is an example of civil rights at its finest and I could go on and on- even a nation of mercenaries has their own limits. What we are trying to understand is what timeline your nation adheres to. For many of us we live in the present where mass graves are seen as barbaric even when used for the bodies of traitors who have been judged with committing treason against the state. The only crucifixion I've witnessed was in the Passion of Christ and those were done under special circumstances lead by an unruly mob. Far be it for me to call your 'benevolent' government an unruly mob, but I'm sure there are other alternatives than crucifixion if you want to demoralize your enemies."

He leaned back and held up his hands, ticking off his fingers in an imaginary list: "A blockade, targeting the families of the communist rebel leaders, public execution after an open trial, propaganda but crucifixion? The more I talk about it, the more I look at it- Potthani seems to their love traditions very much. Don't take this for a personal attack: like President Maikel just said, these communists wouldn't pass a single economics class in any Mannian university or college and I'm sure Potthan, a nation whose major trade source is one single factor of production has a much better understanding of the valuable knowledge of economics. Kill them if you want, that's your prerogative: but tell us all with a straight face, looking at us in the eye that every single one of those bodies in those mass graves, nailed to those crosses were communists and muslims not the random bodies of actual innocent civilians caught in one of your bombings or firefights."

Undersecratery Jonah Traskel sighed again
"Again you insult and lie to us. How incompetent do you think the audience is? Since you failed to come clean it is clear what must be done now."
She snaps her fingers at her aide who scurried off and soon images appeared on the previously used screen. It was from a high angle and clearly from a low flying satellite.
The video played and clearly showed men, women and children numbering at least 50 fleeing from armed uniformed men of roughly 20 in number only to be gun down in by automatic fire. Then several drew pistols and walked forward and finished off the wounded before leaving in trucks.
Another one clicked this one showing a picture of a mass grave taken from much lower, probably from a recon plane. The huge pits was filled with bones and half decomposed bodies.
Another image takes it place, this some showing a street decorated with gutted and fillets bodies hanging from lamp posts.
Another high angle video of some unifromed man dragging a girl out into the street where he proceeds to beat her to death with a rifle butt.
"We have more images and video as well if you car to see it. We are nothing if not through. But here is some of the most damning evidence."
Audio suddenly plays over the speaker. It is a deep voiced man
"Did you actually rape her?"
A gruff cheery voice responded
"Well yeah we did it. But I mean c'mon not like you can pass up a chance like that."
The previous voice responded
"Damn we'll need to hide this"
The clip ends and Traskel aide return to her side. She opens a brief case and hands to Traskel a 5 inch thick binder
"As you can see. This is pretty damning evidence. And here I have intercepted radio call transcripts for orders for more executions and of your soldiers bragging about there horrific deeds again this is just a small sample. So I ask you once more, what do you have to say about this genocide?"

Janji sat and listened as the delegate spoke. "As for any situations like this, I am sure innocents were killed. That's inevitable when it comes to execution systems. The real killer is how many. The Senate of Justice states... No, guarantees that 93% of those executed were confirmed to be Communists or Muslims." Janji said in a most sincere tone. "Potthani traditions are forbidden to change by elders in The Golden Path, which if you don't know is what democratic nations would call an executive branch. Ever since their founding during ancient times they've forbidden traditional and moral values to change. For good reason." said Janji.

Janji closed the statement with, "Our traditions are what Potthan our own. Without them we are lost." Janji then stood down and listened to the statements of another delegate.

Janji broke a sweat and stood up, "Well then it's obviously a forgery or mistake." Janji said with full confidence, showing upmost sincerity in what she believes. She frantically shuffled through her documents and help up yet another file. "This is Section 2 Phrase B of the Potthani Legion Handbook. It states any soldier found guilty of sexual assault, whether it be against ally or enemy, will be subject to execution." Janji said with a crack in her voice. "We have no official authentication of that audio file from the Senate of Media and Information. It isn't confirmed to be canon as far as to if it's real or not." Janji said before collecting herself.

"As I have told you there were mistakes made on the battlefield and those who made said mistakes on purpose are being investigated and dealt with. Mass graves are standard for an execution of this amount. As for the bodies of children." Janji paused to take a small drink of water. "Even children are not exempt from justice and are tried just as adults are in Potthan. Surely you would do the same as us if you had a rebellion on your hands." Janji said before sitting down.

"Oh stop!" Maikel rolled his eyes.

Next to him the Romani, Palmyrian, and Marshite representatives all looked similarly amused at what they were hearing. That was to say: not at all. The Romani and Marshites hated slavers to a fault they would have seen nothing redeeming in the Potthani anyways, the Palmyrion people followed the Union's namesake with jealous fervor, and the Mobutians had never been fans of their southern neighbors.

"If we were in your position. I'dimagine none of those assembled across from you would be in your position. Children aren't criminals for the imagined crimes of parents, many of us have governments that avoid rebellion by listening to the public at large, and the wholesale slaughter of thousands of innocents isn't sold as a mistake."

He gave a tired groan, "So would you so kindly stop trying to double-talk. This is a room full of politicians - we all know that game and it won't do you any favors here. Now with a straight face tell us that every single one of those deaths had a trial. Had even a chance to prove they were innocent."

Janji broke even more sweat before continuing, "There were too many convicts to give trials. However accurate intelligence says the majority, the vast majority, of people were guilty. I can assure you." said Janji before drinking more water. "Potthani Military Personnel are highly trained and well informed and rarely make mistakes, though they do occasionally happen." said Janji in a more calm tone. "It's not possible to imagine this cleanse as a genocide nor imagine it to be unjustified. Children aren't guilty because of the crimes of their parents, rather are guilty of the crimes they themselves commit. The children of criminals are FAR more likely to resort to crime than the children of honest parents. It's a factor the Senate of Justice doesn't want to take the chance of." said Janji before sitting back down.

"Why defend such unimportant actions? Potthan man," the Ralkovian suddenly spoke, staring across the room, absently grasping towards a stack of papers.

"Do I need defend self, when I step on ant pile? World hold me accountable when I kill hornet's nest?" the Ralkovian continued, turning his attention to face the Mobutian. "Do I have thought in brain that hornet family responsible for sting me, but babies be not responsible? Or do I think correctly that hornet baby will one day into sting me and kill them. Be into facing truth. You care not about murder of innocence. You engage in war. Many innocence die in war. You belong to alliance of Marshite transvestites, Romani scum, and Palmyrian dogs; all of whom ejaculate over idea of murder in their black and white ways over things they believe to be good and evil. You agree with that. Kill what you see as bad. Save what is good. Tell me then what objective truth on that is. Slaver be evil, but not communist? We at least into making sure our slaves fed, communist government cannot even into that," the Ralkovian chuckled. "And why even communist be evil? Or any other ideology for that matter."

"If that not enough. Your allies often are into fits, and many brain problems. You into recognizing horses as sentient creatures, so it be not very surprising that you recognize communists as sentient too. And the idea of trial? That another man into saying who you can kill or who you cannot, and that is what makes murder okay or not. That is laughable. A trial for deciding if mass murder is good or not. I have never into hearing such funny things," The Ralkovian paused, now presently looking at the stack of papers, as if trying to memorize the next few lines carefully.

"You into fooling no one with your many talks of innocence and protecting them. You wrap your motive up in nice little box, you show it to whole world, and you say 'we are good. look at us' but you share the same motive as us, as the Potthani, as any other man. Power. You desire it, but you into much guilt. So you into wrapping it up nice and neat. That out of the hundred of billion of people into being murdered, this is where you draw line. At crucifixion. Surely, if you are into making point that it be into wasting much good organs that could be sold for money, I agree. But death is death. Suffering is suffering," the Ralkovian concluded, smiling dimly at the rest of the conference.

"And you are but a walking corpse motivated only by the most base of animal instinct."
Traskel calmly retorts
"Yes we engage in war. Yes people are hurt and die, as is always the case, but again if you had ears for voices other than your won, you would have heard that we try to minimize the suffering of others. We make war but we always do so with a purpose. A clear goal and objective in mind. We do not engage in mindless barbarism for its own sake. Death and suffering for no purpose are the worst kind. Live wasted. Lives that might have made a better world. Lives that might have one day amounted to something far greater than slaver scum like yourself. Potthan kills rapes, and murders with no clear end goal in mind, it offers no chance for betterment or a brighter future. It slaughter the innocent with no regard. I am sure even a horse has a more efficient brain than the average ralkovian. Begone from here before grow ill from your most foul stench."

_____Vawdrey burst into open laughter, tears trailing down his cheekbones and clutching his sides in mirth. His aide and his neighbours gave him a worried look, his aide rushing to his side and fretting over him. "No- no please, I'm alright, I'm fine." he assured them, wiping tears from his eyes. He paused, attempting to regain his dignity. One look at the Ralkovian and Madam Janji however, and he broke into a giggling fit, covering his eyes with his hands. "No stop- you can't be serious." Pointing an accusatory finger at Janji, he cleared his throat, his amusement still ebbing into his professional and curt voice.

_____"Madam Janji I don't believe I can trust any other facts from any branch within your government. Let's say I do, and I don't, when's the next mistake going to occur? How long before I have to eat my words?" he gestured towards the Ralkovian representative, looking like a happy angler fish who had just caught a nice meal for itself. "Your own ally just tore every sentiment in your words with his bravado, and now you have the guts to try and convince us what you did was justifiable?" Osbert hadn't laughed this hard for weeks, not after a parody of him was televised on the national channel: he laughed, and then had the author taken away at night for rehabilitation. The irony of everything eventually cracked the tense leader, who was surprised no one else was laughing with him.

_____Ah well, they did say he had a dark sense of humor.

_____He had another chuckle at his own expense, nearly choking on his dry throat. A quick drink alleviated that issue before he continued. "Take some lessons from your Ralkovian ally: look at him, he doesn't have shame. He's not pretending to be adhering to the modern, civilized era, he knows he's not going to get away from this pitiful facade if you are the only example we have to base off here. He's not pretending that communists have human rights as though they're an entirely different species."

_____"This entire charade has gone far enough: it is clear to the Republic that you and your slaver brethren will not cooperate with us, nor have you proved yourself entirely trustworthy with your conveniently timed mistakes. If power, Mister Representative of the Ralkovian Empire, comes with the unnecessary butchering of children who have yet to understand the concept of universal right-or-wrong, bad grammar, hilarious accents and being oblivious to the laws of the civil world then I would rather be weak."

_____Vawdrey's voice was clear and devoid of any emotions as he spoke his next words, chosen carefully in his mind. "Eolmann does not draw the line at crucifixion. It was merely a hypothetical suggestion to determine Ms. Janji's answer to my question of national civility. Eolmann draws the line when children are hurt for the sins of their parents. You say that you are better than communists out of belief that your understanding of economics is more rotund, but you waste valuable trade resource and commodity. If communism cannot put bread on a family's plate, then what you have done with your choice of actions is the equivalent of breaking your own hands because the father refused to work for you."

_____The man gave another wave as if to signify he was almost done. "Death is death, suffering is suffering. If you wish to adhere to this then Eolmann's only response is: war is war. I have tried to be as courteous as possible in this summit, never mind that the others have been spitting acid in your general direction. It was my hope that we could come to a mutual understanding, but Ralkovia has already thrown that deal off the table. I cannot say I am sorry because I mean every word that I have spoken, Ms Janji."

_____"Eolmann does not tolerate murder of children. In all of our two revolutions, three civil wars and sixteen national riots that we have had, we have always done our best to ensure our nation's future is kept safe and those who would harm them for arbitrary crimes, we put them to rest. Nothing more can be said to either of you, Madam Puppet, Mister Regurgitator."

"Who is into saying that we do not have our own reasons for engaging in war. You assign us into being barbarians, yet you into using the same tools to cut flesh. You justify...you say that you are doctor...no that is incorrect...you into convincing yourself that you are doctor. That your cuts achieve...some. great. goal," the Ralkovian paused facing the roof before enunciating the last words individually,

"But you leave same result. Broken and bleeding corpses," the Ralkovian now turned towards Traskel, his eyes cold, near white with undertones of blue like shattered ice drifting on a winter river.

"You assume the lives we kill would be otherwise making better world. And yet, you assume that our actions won't also into making world better place. And you into forgetting...no ignoring, that by your very words, you would kill our innocents, innocents who would as you saying 'make world better.' Suffering is by your own word's bad, and yet as you ramble on inconsistently parading morality like little child, causing me to suffer more at your hypocrisy. Suffering is suffering, Timo man," the Ralkovian said, concluding with a flippant fingering of his stack of papers.

"It is then into goodness. We do not have quite good understanding of your...complex...morality. Your distinction between children and adult. If human life is valuable. Why draw line? If not able into tolerate murder of children...then you distinguish some life is more valuable than other...do you not? That is your unstated assumption. And if we agree on that...Then you are no into much difference then how Ralkovia view the matter. Semantics at that point...Mister Vawdrey...as to accent, why not keep personal attacks in your mind, where they into they are belonging...after all not much into 'civility,'" the Ralkovian responded returning an ostensible smile to Vawdrey.

When Maikel next went to speak, he felt a tap on his shoulder. A quick glance revealed it was the Marshite representative who wished to offer up a response to Madam Janji. He was an attractive looking young man in a well-cut green dress that showed if nothing else his sense of fashion had adapted well to the Shift. He spoke, "Slavers often try to justify their actions and will lie to achieve their aims. Why should you believe them? It is circular and ridiculous," said the Marshite delegate, who had done little else but stare at the speaking Potthani with undisguised disgust and hate the whole time. The Theocracy was doing their Union brothers a favor by entertaining this summit's goals. They were not, thus far, impressed.

With that out of the way Maikel rubbed at the bridge of his nose and sighed audibly, "I wish I could live in a government as simple as yours. The last eight years of my life would have been a lot easier if I could just haul away or shoot my political opponents instead of acknowledge them as fellow persons worth civil respect.
Or where I could go on a tirade of insults in one moment and then act the victim when insulted in kind the next. But sadly I can't. I live in one of those silly nations that values its citizens as individuals irregardless of their potentially wrong political views. A nation, I might add, your ancestors told mine would never exist as they whipped them and tugged on their chains. And yet the first Ralkovian man into orbit didn't call himself a Ralkovian, did he? In fact I believe a Mobutian flag was on his uniform. I'm even told he wore it with a certain measure of pride.."

He sipped at his water, paused to compose himself, and then spoke again, "I want a peaceful solution to this. The region as a whole wants a peaceful solution to this, and the Freeman of Mobutia have an obvious vested interest in such a solution. But we can only accept such a solution which meets the following standards. The first demand is that the Potthani government stands aside to allow unimpeded investigation of the siege of the city and the actions of their troops and government officials involved. The second is the full remand of any government officials, military officers, or other individuals found to be involved in war crimes and sapient rights abuse to be put before a regional tribunal to stand on trial for their crimes. The third demand we have set is the total abolition of legalized slavery in Potthan and all of her territories."

"Surely we can come to a mutual agreement. I am certain the Senates will allow you to send observers and try incompetent soldiers and military officers. However the issue is with the third demand. Slavery is often used for all extreme labor jobs or tedious jobs. We simply cannot let that go." Janji said before pausing. "Surely we can come to a compromise from civil nation to civil nation." Janji said before returning to her seat.

Traskel snorts
"Negoataion is useless. Only thing that...beings- I refuse to call them people-, understand is power through force of arms. Unfroteunalty the Timocratic Republic is currently occupied with other matters and has little to spare but even we are not with out hearts unlike some. We will be working in conjunction with Mokastana during this operation. We are planning several more relief mission, as well. We are of course not stupid and all of them will be heavily gaurded but we have no interest in fight for once...but we will defend ourselves if we are attacked. I would highly recommend not attacking us while we try to help these people."

Maikel's epxression grew rather cold. He was Sha Mobutian by birth, and as such he would never call himself a "citizen". That implied even in some tangential sense that he was subservient to or owned by the state. He was a Freemam: his ancestors came from foreign shores before they were brought to Ralkovia in cages and chains, then freed themselves and carved out ther own homeland. One of the few things his ancestors brought with them was a hatred of slavers.

Not to mention that before he spoke next the rest of the delegation were glaring collectively at the Potthani dlegation. Maikel spoke succinctly, "No. We can only accept a solution in which those three terms are accepted by the Potthani government. We won't allow you to pin this whole atrocity on some Lieutenant or police Sergeant, we won't allow these crimes to go unanswered, and we won't tolerate slavery."
