AM v Vancouvia (OOC | TWI Only)

Ladies and gentlemen, this what it exactly says on the tin. Van and I have decided to have an invasion of Athara Magarat. He wants to have a war that he "might lose" (due to various) while I want to keep my growing population in check

In the beginning we will do with some news post here and there. The current plan is for Van and I to throw strongly-worded diplomatic insults at each other for at least one or even two weeks. Then we can think of war declarations.

Vancouvia, a prosperous and industrious utopia, has been hit by a recent spree of terrorism. The Vancouvians blame it on SHOCK. The Athara Magaratis believe SHOCK is their responsibility and want all captured suspected terrorists to be handed over to them. The Vancouvians in return make more outrageous demands from the smaller nation. They want a really long list of all known SHOCK members, their hiding locations throughout the Isles and UAV strikes in those areas. Many innocent civilians die in attacks on terrorist zones. Words get thrown here and there, the two nations cross the limit and finally an invasion war takes place...

Ready for that? Let's get started below with ideas!

-Congress and people grow restless because attacks not identified in terrorist attack
-Congress thinks SHOCK is the most likely candidate even though they have no proof
-Demand identification from AM of all SHOCK terrorists and their locations, and ability to conduct air strikes against them
-AM hesitates, complies a little bit
-NOT GOOD ENOUGH
-Airstrikes on AM soil, very controversial
-Vietnam style invasion
-goes badly

I think it would add more tension if civilians died when you launched an unauthorized UAV strike in AM.

But it is sure that C6 will be sort of unknown cause Keomora and Noronica are in the C6 and the Coalition of Free Nations.

Neutrality is their best friend. And I probably wouldn't be much use, given our distance and I definitely wouldn't get involved militarily

definitely going to jump to the I.D. but then I'll need another spot in the mesder. you could play a part in that because I remember you saying you need someone to help finance your nation's green infrastructure.... so we could make a corrupt bargain and let me use your airfields etc

I can call for caution and peace, and urge Vancouvia to be less unilateral and respect AM's sovereignty. But unless they attack Akar I will not be roused to war.

How bad would the attacks be to launch a full war? Something on 9/11 scale?

I also wonder how this would affect the flow of trade through the canal, since AM seems like a prosperous, global contributor who would use it to trade eastward. Just wondering. If it's no big deal then Azleban might not feel that strongly about it anyway.
