President James walked down the Executive Hall, here were the portraits of every President of Emerstari, lined up on the walls. As he arrived at the end of the hall, James stood for a second and stared at his portrait from his first term. Eventually, James entered the Presidential Office finding his dog was lying on his chair. Eric turned on his computer, checking messages sent from the Deputy of Foreign Affairs, Vice President, and Raynor. The President clicked on the one from Raynor and began reading. "So, they want to sabotouge my Military, do they? Sending his top five military 'advisors,' is this supposed to be a joke?" the President thought. President Eric began composing his message...
Soon, he was finished, after sending the message James started towards the Gardens of the Executive Mansion. Met by two Secret Service Agents, the President was escorted to the Presidential Limousine. Once Eric was in and secure, the chauffeur started driving. The President was traveling to Coronet International Airport.

Having just returned from a meeting in Emerstari, Brigadier Charles Limburg met the former Ambassador to Spookistam in the new Emerstarian Embassy. Consul William Herald and Ambassador Thomas Erichson were now working in the new embassy. The three talked and prepared to go to meet President Swiss.

The three Emerstarians stepped out of the Oshkosh L-ATV in front of the old building. Walking into the building, they found Swiss speaking with his staff. Limburg began walking up to him, waiting for the conversation between the two Spookistamians to end. "President Swiss, myself and the two diplomats would like to congratulate your rise to power. But let's get right to the point and avoid the politics." Limburg said. "Emerstari has requested to reopen its embassy and would like to know if the new Spookistamian government wants any protection while it rebuilds?" After Swiss replied, Limburg said one more thing, then walked away while the ambassadors began to talk. "Under King Tomas, we were protecting Spookistam during reconstruction, is this going to continue?" Limburg, now walking back to the vehicles was followed by the ambassadors who finished talking. The diplomats returned to the embassy while Limburg continued to the Emerstarian fort nearby.

James and his guards walked off the plane. Now in Hashkin, they intended to meet with Chancellor Bakker. The President and his entourage entered the Capitol Building, to find Bakker's secretary sitting at her desk. James asked, "Do you happen to know where Chancellor Bakker is?" She replied, "No, may I ask who's asking, I'll alert him when he returns." President James answered, "The President of Emerstari, E. J. James." Disappointed, the group rested at a hotel.

"Sir, the latest report from the FBI says that Baxter has left York City. He is catching a flight to a remote island in New Spookistam," one of the agents said. "Tell the FBI they have full control of the situation, if this gets out of hand give the investigation to the Defence Bureau and if this gets international, CIA," the President ordered. The President turned the television on and watched a rerun of his speech from yesterday,

"A terrorist group, a group of pirates, has recently started to block trading and shipping ships on their way to our territory of Hawe`. We cannot allow this, to make the situation even worse, they are also capturing and holding the ships' crews hostage. A Task Force of Royal Navy ships, along with a team of the newly formed Anti-Terrorist Division of the Royal Marines on their way. The force will hunt down and capture all the terrorists. The Anti-Terrorist Division, currently made up of 2,000 soldiers is fighting both the Vosgatha terrorists and will fight these pirates. Goodnight everyone..."

"Jesus Christ", Chancellor Bakker said while watching a news report on Pinecoast. "Sir, President James wanted to meet.", the Chancellor's Secatary. "Well, its most likely about Baxter, I am interested to hear what he has to say."

Chancellor Tony Bakker arrived at the hotel in his motorcade with his Director of the WIA, Lester Ashcroft. At the hotel, they asked for Eric J James's room. While rododng the elevator, Ashcroft asked, "what could he want with Baxter?" Chancellor Bakker, who was now uncertain, replied with "He was in Emerstari territory, maybe he wants to help." At that point, the elevator stopped and the doors opened. Bakker and Ashcroft stepped out, walked to James's room, and knocked on the door.

After the worlds markets took a downturn due to international events, the bubble of Pinecoast's banks finally burst. Loans were defaulting and the banks had no cash to pay them off. When citizens tried to pull out their money, they were met with the reality that there was no money to be withdrawn. Anger boiled in the Evergreen Peninsula. The Peninsula's cities held almost 60% of the Republics population, and the sprawling urban centers were already hotbeds of progressive support. The cities broke into riots as the bank collapse came to fruition. The National Republican Guard was deployed and armored divisions were called in to shut off the highways.

Nationalist mobs raided immigrant neighborhoods in the capital of Ellensgard. With over 10 million immigrants making up the population, the foreign born represented a fifth of the nation and a force to be reckoned with. Clashes around the Peninsula killed many and only worsened the situation.

Parliament broke down into fist fight as newly elected nationalist leaders confronted the progressive majority. Centrist joined in on the brawl and the legislative session is currently on an emergency recess. The Chancellor has yet to call back Parliament and has mobilized the Reserves in an attempt to stem the violence. Many experts predict massive layoffs will increase unemployment to 30%. Times are tough in Pinecoast, and the conflicts of the country seem ready to spill over into the world.

The AON held an emergency session to discuss the events happening in Pinecoast and they agreed that there would be a bailout for the nation of Pinecoast but in order to get the money to lend to Pinecoast they had to relax sanctions on Spookistam, Peandland, and Hashkin though they would still have sanctions on their nations they weren't as harsh as they were before but still there. After the AON relaxed sanctions they then send $56,000,000,000.00 to the government of Pinecoast as a way of "fixing" the problem.

The Pinecoast Purification Party, an alt-right movement that targeted immigrants, attacked the governmental compound in the capital. The Pincoast Freedom Party, an alt-left movement that targeted anti-progressives, attempted a similar move but were arrested before any attack could be launched. With the military regaining control of the nation from the ashes of anarchy, unemployment is on the rise.

Emergency elections were held and the center-right Pine Patriots hold a strong 56% majority , with the centrist Liberal Democrats winning a mere 14% and the leftist National Progressives winning 30%. A new chancellor was appointed by the majority party, electing Alexander Felder to lead as the nations top executive.Felder, who fought in a volunteer brigade during the First World War, earned several commendations and was praised as a war hero.

The 9th fleet was deployed from the southern most port of Capeville to conduct military exercises in the Sea of Njiene. The navy seems to have the most jobs opened up in the Submarine Corps and Marine Corps and will be opening up several new defense contracts to Pinecoastian manufacturers.

Principal Chief Jack McCarthy was going over his daily briefings about other nations near the Colony and he had received a detailed report on the nation of Pinecoast and what was going on there and noticing that they had such a small military sent a memo down to the High Court detailing the need for an alliance between nations on the Oryth Continent which included the Oryth region which was controlled by the Colony, the Norhollow Region which was controlled by the Western Pacific Territories, and Pinecoast Region which had for a government and named the region the Republic of Pinecoast or that's what they thought it was named as it wasn't started to the public but that's what the Colony's government was calling the new nation. The High Court debated the issue for weeks and voted in favor of the alliance of the Oryth Continent nations calling the new alliance Northern Defense and Economic Pact or NDEP for short. The NDEP would be an alliance that would defend each nation from threats and it would be the sharing equipment and economic progress so an invite was sent to the leaders of Pinecoast.

Conflict. Such a brutish means of solving problems and yet, it consistently worked. Force of arms had solved more problems than any previous system and the Empire knew it. The rest of the world hid behind their "Assembly of Nations", as if that would provide the bulwark against conflict and war. Oh no. Unfortunately for this "Assembly", it would accomplish the exact opposite.

Things around the world fell quite but it wasn't a calm quite it was an eerie quite like there was something building the national representatives in the AON were holding meeting after meeting, committee after committee trying to figure out what to do in case a war broke out between nations but with the limited power system the nations set up when they started the AON it may not be enough. After weeks of debate they came out with a sanction plan that read that if any nation started aggression for any reason then they would suffer a 59% GDP lean on their nation's economic growth as well as a complete import/export embargo on all goods and/or services entering or leaving the country in question.


Many AON Reps agreed with the plan and passed the proposal unanimously without question but there were rumors that many nations didn't agree with the plan that was passed by an intergovernmental organization which some nations didn't see as a legitimate organization that could tell their nation what to do tensions were raising and it seemed that Spookistam wanted to regain the land they saw as stolen from them after the first world war the AON was watching them closely to make sure they didn't try anything to take the land back by force as there were AON security forces on the borders of each of the divisions of Spookistam.

With the slowing of politics, Raynor leader of Peandland took this time to begin planning the construction of several new hamlets and villages where people who had to be relocated from the WW1 controlled areas could live until there was a chance of that land being taken back or bought back. Along with the hamlets, the Navy was being expanded. One new Submarine was constructed and put into the 5th Royal Fleet which was patrolling the coastal waters of Peandland in search of pirates who ran rampant, nobody was stopping them. It almost seemed that the nation's had died and Peandland was the last one alive, full of new activity of construction and upgrades.

Principal Chief Jack McCarthy read the email twice and though about it he didn't have the power to approve bases so he passed the email down to the Prime Secretary of the High Court Giltra Hurid who looked over the email and responded to it.

President James began speaking, "I'd assume he would be there to recruit but I don't see why he would recruit there. Mainly because it is controlled by Emerstari. He would get much acceptance from the citizens. Droximian Hashkin did kill thousands of Emerstarian citizens and soldiers alike there." After the two leaders talked for a little bit longer, James left for Emerstari in the morning.

The world was at an eerie peace and things while calm were peaceful and Principal Chief Jack McCarthy hoped they'd stay that way because at least there wasn't open warfare between countries with the Assembly of Nations thinking the peace was permanent had told the assigned guards in the occupied areas of Spookistam to stand down and many of the units had a lax attitude about the mission they were supposed to be carrying out and the National Spookistam Military Forces knew it and so did the King Tomas but no one knew what he was planning or what was going through his head. The Colony Department of Foreign Affairs was in constant contact with the Spookistam Foreign Ministry and relations were good and nothing was out of the ordinary from the Colony's perspective and so the Colony had adopted a stance where they would use the Colony's Armed Forces to ensure that Spookistam remained an independent state.

Principal Chief Jack McCarthy was getting reports that Pinecoast had fell back into anarchy and with the new weaponry that the Colony had given the former government thinking they would be around for a while it made the area very unstable and there were reports of six different groups operation within the Pinecoast all of which were not ideal to be working with. The CIG was also getting reports that members of the Pinecoast government that had brought stability to the nation of Pinecoast were still there in hiding but they would have to fine them and save them and help them regain control over the country.

The CIG had a dossier on the Pinecoast Republican Guard and one on a general named Ewan Marshall had taken over the military and most of Pinecoast and it looked as if he was the least hostel towards the Colony but the CIG didn't want to take any chances so they said it would be in the best interest of the Colony to post troops on the Pinecoast border which Principal Chief Jack McCarthy did and it didn't sit well with PRG General Ewan Marshall at all but he understood the move and released a public statement saying that he was a staunch supporter of the government in exile and that it was his duty to find them and return them to power but until then he would take control and the PRG would defend the country from all threats.

The 12th Motorized Peandland National Guard Regiment rolled down the street in their new fancy and clean Tyrant Infantry Fighting vehicles. Following behind the main IFV's came half a dozen newly bought APC Talha's with the countries flag brazenly flying in the sky. The Invasion of Svetheim was about to begin. The Nation of Peandland had for too long been defeated in wars by other nations due to the size and population. Now was the time to strike while the others worried about poor ole Pinecoast and the groups murdering each other there.

The Border was already a blazing battlefield when the Declaration of War was sent. M1 Abrams rolled across the invisible border lines and began pounding the border town of Pejorev. The Svetheim Army was barely ready for war when the town was bombarded. Artillery followed destroying high rise apartments and small commercial stores alike. If Peandland was to not take the entire nation, they would destroy it enough for the original government to have trouble repairing it.


Raynor Sat at his desk in Tico, typing on his computer an email to the other nations of the world.

Secondly, would you allow us to develop a neighborhood in your town for our soldiers? It would be very small, perhaps only 25-50 houses. Thirdly, do you have any special requests of us? King Zhakak,
I have been told you may contacting me and while I welcome your presence many of the residents in Gikonko don't there is an old coastal fort that you can use and the CAF has already fitted 90mm canons facing the waters of the Tethys Sea as well as repaired and modernized the docks for any ships you may have. There is one thing that I request and that's any children that your soldiers may have attend schools in Gikonko as I think it would provide them with a valuable learning experience as they will be representing your nation it's people to the citizens of the Colony and the world and it would be an opportunity for children in the Colony to experience different a culture. The school system may be different than that of your nation but you soldiers children will be going to the Oak Grove Institute and all students have to stay on campus in dorms away from their parents if they're 12 years of age or older. I ask that your soldiers children attend Oak Grove Institute because it's large and Gikonko is small and the school is empty except for a few students as many resident moved out of Gikonko after the factories closed down which there are two factories close by the fort for you to convert into housing and office space for you troops if you so wish. I will be awaiting your arrival.

Peandland

The 12th Motorized Peandland National Guard Regiment rolled down the street in their new fancy and clean Tyrant Infantry Fighting vehicles. Following behind the main IFV's came half a dozen newly bought APC Talha's with the countries flag brazenly flying in the sky. The Invasion of Svetheim was about to begin. The Nation of Peandland had for too long been defeated in wars by other nations due to the size and population. Now was the time to strike while the others worried about poor ole Pinecoast and the groups murdering each other there.

The Border was already a blazing battlefield when the Declaration of War was sent. M1 Abrams rolled across the invisible border lines and began pounding the border town of Pejorev. The Svetheim Army was barely ready for war when the town was bombarded. Artillery followed destroying high rise apartments and small commercial stores alike. If Peandland was to not take the entire nation, they would destroy it enough for the original government to have trouble repairing it.


Raynor Sat at his desk in Tico, typing on his computer an email to the other nations of the world.

You may all know our country for war. You are right it is part of our culture. We are invading the nation of Svetheim, we advise that you do not assist them in any way that would directly hinder us. This does not include you, so there is no need for naval invasions.

The CIG was monitoring the situation and they didn't want to get involved directly but they did provide a one time intel dump to the Svetheim military as a way to prolong the conflict between the two countries but they also secretly funded the start up of a small terrorist organization that would attack both sides though they didn't really know what they were doing and the terrorist organization grew to something they couldn't control but it wasn't powerful it only had a lot of support from the people of Svethiem

Svetheim-Peandland Border


Pejorev was in utter Chaos at 0200 hours of fighting. That was without the Army or Marines joining it was all the National Guard Border Regiments fighting. This would be the true turning point. Small holdouts of Svetheim soldiers dug into the center of the town waiting for the enemy to come down the road with their tanks and IFV's. They never got to seem them as The first Peandland CAC/PAC JF-17 Thunder screeched over head and dropped a Mk-82 down upon the center, spitting up a large chunk of cobblestone and brick. The holdout had numbered 200 before the Aircraft and now was numbered 75.


Eastern Flank, Campos

The first Peandland Marine regiment marched through the town, not having a single shot taken at them until they reached the Mayor's office. The reservist T-34's in the Regiment rolled up front and took aim at the top of the office. A RPG streak across the sky and tore the turret from one of the T-34's. The men looked up onto the roofs and saw half a dozen raggedy dressed men with machine guns and RPG's.

The Captain called for the order to attack and attack they did. The 2 remaining T-34's spun around and took at, spraying the tops with their machine gun before loading their main guns. Within seconds the housing complex that the Militia stood on was demolished and they fell to their deaths. The tanks then turned back to the Mayor's Office and fired. Blowing the building up in an awesome fireball.

King Zhakak sat down at his desk. He had several messages to respond to.

To: President James
I would recommend a meeting in our Pondal Base, the base we took from Peandland in the last war. It will make it clear that we are warning them, and will send a message of "We won last time, and we will again." What do you think of this suggestion?

To: Lauren Matthews
Thank you for arranging our base. I will ask the soldiers if they wish to bring their families to stay in Gikonko, but I will not make them. Perhaps around 10-25 families will agree. Our troops will be arriving in five days. If you have any needs or complaints, don't hesitate to bring them up.

As King Zhakak finished sending the messages, his Minister of War burst in. "Sir," he said, "Peandland has started war!"
"WHAT?!?!?!?!"
"Not against us. They attacked a small nation called Svetheim."
"Ah. Well, that puts us in a spot."
"Quite. We cannot simply attack, as they have not provoked us. However, we cannot simply let them go on with this. What do you think we should do?"
"I think we should increase military activity in Pondal, and have our air force fly over the battlefield in Svetheim and the Peandlandian troops. Both actions will send a message, and if the flyovers are attacked, we have an excuse for stopping Peandland."
"Good ideas. I would suggest also secretly aiding Svetheim, not with troops, but with training. That way, even if discovered, we can say we were not directly hindering them."
"Alright. Send Svetheim aid as well, and begin flyovers of the battlefield as soon as possible."
"Yes sir!"
The Minister walked out, leaving King Zhakak hoping that President James would accept, and more so, that Peandland would get the message.
