Oslo WeeklyElection Results4/11/22
The Oslo Weekly reports that Norse National Party has beat the oposition in the General Election last night. They won the election with 68% of the popular vote. The second place party was the Conservatives, who got 15% of the vote. The Socialists came in third with 14% of the vote. The Greens Recieved 1% of the vote, while the Communists recieved 2%. The Norse National Party went out and congratulated the opposition after the election. The leader of the NNP, Nilis Hannsson, gave a speech soon after the election. He stated that "This is a new day for the Kalmar Republic. For years our politicians have failed us. They have lied to our people and corrupted our governement. They have ingored the very values our country has had for a millenia. However, the people noticed this and they rose up. They allowed their voices to be hear, and they spoke loud in the election.Today is a new dawn for the Republic, for the Empire. Today is they day we restore our values that we have been given by the gods. Hail Odin! Hail Thor! Hail our People! Despite this many are not happy. Many people claim the NNP is a backwards facist party that will end the republic. Because of this people have taken to the streets and have rioted. Many of these rioters are members of Anarchist and Communist groups. The NNP has continued to deny claims of them being facist and they have contiued to show their support for the republic.An example of the riots
The Emperor went out and condemned the riots calling them "Anti-Norse and Anti-Democracy." He then went out and congratulated Nilis Hannsson on his victory. This is all the news on the election so far. The NNP is set to take power on the 5th of May. We wish every citizen of the Kalmar Republic the best, and we hope to see our nation return to stablity after a turbulent election.
