It is 1910, and an era of peace is over the land...

All continents and seas have been mapped and colonized, all except one... The Enigma.

You will ask, what is the Enigma? Well, the Enigma is a rumored far southern continent cloaked in a sheet of ice a mile or so deep and is full of, things... Only a few places have been mapped, all by people blown away from their usual route. Svertrygg being the most famous, though his fame only came posthumously, as in the past he was considered as nothing but a madman...

Now, as icebreaker ship technology becomes more advanced through the months and years, perhaps old man Svertrygg's claims could be confirmed.

Hello and welcome to The 1910 Expedition! As requested by many members of the 1870-1920 RP Group, we have created this RP with the sole purpose of exploring one thing, the Enigma continent! So while I construct that damn IC, you can go discuss what will go on here!

I'd like to add some ideas people concerning:

Terrain
The upper terrain will be like antarctica, with ice, blizzards, snow, etc etc

Animals
There will be all types of animals like polar bears, walrus's, and etc, though perhaps there are some more unknown creatures (dinosaurs?), anyway, many of these will try to kill you

Civilisation?
Perhaps there's some hidden, isolated tribe that live in igloos and stuff? Perhaps even a secret Atlantis: The Lost Empire like civilisation under the ice! (except no advanced fish planes and lasers)

Name of explorer: Frans Kayuh
Bio:
Frans Kayuh was a man who dreamed of adventure. He had heard of a man named Alabastor Fogg, a man who adventured with his butler to circumnavigate around the world in 80 days.

And he made it.

He was famed in Rannoria, though that was more than 20 years ago. A not-so-new location on the map has been tempting fate, but now Rannoria decides to do something.

Name of explorer: Heinrich "Schneesturm" Stauffenberg

Bio: Stauffenberg was a member of an aristocratic family in Wargloria. He later joined the Alpine Corp, a segment of Elite Warglorian Soldiers who specialise in mountain climbing, and harsh snow conditions, using things like ice picks, skiis, and others, where they mostly practiced in the Warglorian Alps. Because of their specialisation in snow conditions, the Alpine Corps were sent in the Expeditionary Army to support the Arenginians, where they fought in harsh winter conditions against the Rusklanders, and where Stauffenberg eventually gained the rank of Colonel. During the war, he's squad was ambushed by Ruskland snipers and artillery, leading to the loss of his left hand and his left eye. Eventually, after the war, he left the army, and decided to go exploring and mountain climbing, mostly going to snowy places such as more East of the Svavic Continent, and the Northern Tamir Continent, hence gaining the nickname "Schneesturm". He used the loss of his left hand to good use, having an multi-attachment holder...thing, where he can switch between hooks, ice picks, and others. He has been picked to lead this legendary expedition.

Bio: Son of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Wargloria, Joachim Von Ribbentrop, Rudolph decided to abandon politics, and join the army, where he also joined the Alpine Corp. He has decided to join this expedition because of adventure lust.

Bio: Another veteran of the Ruskland-Arengin War, Pieper was actually born in the Alps, and has lived in the mountains for most of his child hood. He was recruited in because of his experience in cold conditions.

Bio: Zhatzeiv was once a member of the Ruskland Army, where he lived and trained in the harsh conditions of Wastldun, and fought against the Arenginian Army in the Ruskland-Arengin War. After the war, he was one of many former Ruskland Soldiers recruited into the Warglorian Ruskland Foreign Legion, in accordance with the secret pact Wargloria had with their King Johann. He was later recruited into the Expedition because of his experience in the cold.

Bio: Basically the same story with Alexis Zhatzeiv, except he was never apart of the Ruskland Army, and immigrated to Wargloria about 4 years prior to the Ruskland-Arengin War.

Name of explorer: Haraldr Olafing "Winter Reaper"
Bio: Born in a small fur trading town north of Warhall, Haraldr immediately was subjected to the art of hunting, which he excelled at. First bow and arrows, which he used to kill foxes and other small critters, then with a hunting rifle, in which he used for the hunting of bears and deer, and always did a bullet from that rifle hit the head, and he almost never missed a shot. At the dawn of the Arengin-Morvern War, he currently was 18 and was already conscripted in the sniper forces due to his skill, and when the war broke out did he use them to the max. Eventually at the end of the war, he retired to his home, he already was 21 and married when the revolts started, and he was part of the revolution. His deadly accuracy, especially in cold weather got him he nickname "Winter Reaper". Eventually he retired from his rifling, but then he thought as he was given a letter about the expedition, "One more time...".

Name of explorer: Hogarth Mac Iacob
Bio: Born in Pillarice, when the war ended, he moved over to Coalsun, where he made a living off working at a fireworks factory. Eventually he noticed his knack for explosives and how to make them as well as his skill in climbing things, and so did his country. He signed up for the Exploration Corps as it was called, and he was one of the lucky five out of a hundred to join the team. His skills in demolition and climbing, especially with ice picks were what assigned him to the Enigma Team.

Bio: Durnovo was born in a village outside Mosov to a well off middle class family. His parents were able to afford and education for him at the Mosov University. He graduated with a degree in sciences and has always dreamed of being the one to discover something big. With he learned of the expedition he volunteered quickly and was designated its head researcher.

Name: Artyom Lunin (age: 20)
Bio: Artyom was born to a poor family, orphaned at 8 he has been alone for most of his life. He always had an interest of the world and when a scientist named Nicholas found home the two became quick friends. Lunin has been Durnovos partner and assistant for many years a over the years Durnovo became a father to him and Durnovo saw him as a son. Lunin wouldn't let Durnovo go without him and made sure he was brought alone.

Name: Captain Vasily Orlov (age: 32)
Bio: Vasily was born to the rich nobility and as expected of him he joined the armed forces where due to his family's influence and his own ability he swiftly reached he rank of Captain. He came along on the expedition because of the promise of great rewards and glory to everyone on the expedition. That was his personal reasons in truth however, he was assigned here and the monetary reward offered by the government was enough to get his family out of its horrendous debt it aqquired over the enervation.

Bio: Ablov was from the lower peasant class and as such he was unable to reach a rank higher than NCO. If not for this he would be a Major by now. An excellent soldier from the northern and snowy regions of Ralkan. He came due to being recommended by Orlov.

Name: Private Boris Nablich (age: 24)
Bio: From the lower class like Ablov and from the same snowy region. Boris is a good soldier and a fun man to be around. He was also recommended by Orlov but is excited for the adventure.
