Tobiasia City, Tobiasia
President Jonathan Smith has accepted the request from the Adainian ambassador for a meeting. The approval has been given for a full intervention in Olah by the Tobiasian Parliament, though at this point in time it is unlcear what this role will undertake. The main points were to call on allies Higher Japan and Adainia to act now, and to massively fortify the northern military base. £800 million has been given to a full revamp of defenses.

Radar had only just intercepted the armada of Rusken-Preuben ships arriving on the east coast. A group of soldiers and tanks had arrived at the beaches. The situation was utter chaos. Troops were being mowed down by a hail of bullets as they ran up the sand, blood truning the tide red. Over slightly towards the north, there was less ressistance and the troops took more land. Aproximatly 3,000 loyalists and 4,000 Rusken-Preuben had been killed, but the invaders had taken some beachheads.

"Commander!" one of the officers bellowed, running his fingers back and forth across the laptop keyboard. "The Emperor, he's here again!"

"Great, what now?" Commander Karim al-Junaedi turned and walked over to the table. "He's going to ask me to bring home some coffee and tea from this place?"

"Commander al-Junaedi, I am sorry to disturb you so soon after our last session," the old man from the other end of the connection said, "but the circumstances dictate that I do this, no matter how troubling or irritating this is."

"I understand, Your Imperial Majesty," al-Junaedi said, pushing a button to enter full screen. "What news do you bring to me, Your Imperial Majesty? I trust that it is something important, indeed."

"We have received a stream of reports, still unverified but most likely true, about the situation in West Irop," the emperor replied.

"Tell me, Your Imperial Majesty, are they still bogged down over there?"

"Indeed, they are still bogged down, Commander al-Junaedi. No breakthrough has been made. It's still a stalemate. Pretty much status quo. Mr. al-Tikriti is now reviewing a few reports saying that our man Irwak has been injured over there."

"How severe is the injury?"

"Nothing severe, we believe. It seems that he is still very much in control of his troops."

"And where did we get all this information from?"

"Contacts, Commander al-Junaedi, contacts."

"Are you implying that we have spies in all those other armies?! Or the expats over there, maybe?"

"Contacts, Commander al-Junaedi, contacts."

Probably the expats. Whatever you say, Your Imperial Majesty, al-Junaedi sighed. "So, what are we supposed to do now?"

"We're getting closer to East Irop. Press on, Commander. Full speed ahead. Hopefully we'll be able to tear down the resistance there."

Commander al-Junaedi nodded, thanked and pledged allegiance to the emperor, and shut down the connection for now. Recalling the foreign ships nearby, he ordered one officer to help him set up the VHF radio. "This is the Imperial Adabian Ship Salah ad-Din to all ships of Ruskland-Preuben that have been reached by this transmission. Do not engage. Confirm your loyalty in the war for the Olah Isles. Repeat, confirm your loyalty. Are you for or against Field Marshal Irwak?"

"Greetings comrades," a man said, "This is the Ruskland-Preubenr Carrier The Fist, we are here for Field Marshal Irwak and are currently spearheading an offensive against the Loyalists, you should help out."

The numbers of the Ruskland-Preubenr surely played a key role in this conflict, as they made pushes in all directions. Two even managed to get to East Irop, and began an earlier siege.

Communiqué of the Glorious Han Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The People's Republic of the Glorious Han interprets recent events as evidence of the Olah People's Party's long-standing rampant corruption and sheer incompetence at resolving the grievances of an oppressed and disenfranchised minority. The People's Republic of the Glorious Han retracts its recognization of the Olah People's Party as the sole legitimate governing body of the Olah Isles. Instead, the People's Republic of the Glorious Han hereby recognizes both the Olah People's Party and the Irwaki Revolutionaries as belligerent parties.

The People's Republic of the Glorious Han urges the Olah People's Party to cease its continued use of violence and brutality against the peaceful protestors of the Irwaki Revolutionaties and to reach a speedy resolution to the conflict; and advises foreign presences to minimize their interference with the internal affairs of the Olah Isles.

In order to protect the lives of Glorious Han citizens, property, and interests in the area, the Politburo has decided to deploy military forces purely for the purpose of self defense. Any act that can be interpreted as aggression against the Glorious Han from any party will be seen as a despicable declaration of war against our pacifist utopia.

Order of "Self-defense":
-Han Foreign Legion:
Strength: 100,000 soldiers

-1st Mechanized Infantry Division:
Strength: 20,000 soldiers; 2,000 APCs; 200 MBTs

-3rd Expeditionary Carrier Group:
2 supercarriers
2 helicopter carriers
4 cruisers
5 destroyers
8 corvettes
3 nuclear attack submarines

The Emperor's Office 3:00 AM
The emperor was sleeping on his office couch as the fire crackled in front of him his chief of staff walked in."Sir" he said with no response,"Sir" he said it louder and the emperor stirred from his slumber. "They need you down in the situation room now" his chief of staff said as he handed the groggy emperor a cup of steaming coffee. The emperor got up and brushed off and suit and started to follow his chief of staff. The walked out of his office and into his private elevator down to the situation room. "Whats going on?" inquired the emperor . "Just something that General Gregorio wanted to pitch you" said leo the chief of staff. "Why at this ungodly hour?" the emperor asked. "Its time sensitive you'll see" said Leo. The elevator made a soft ding and the doors opened down a marble hall way. They started to walk down it with every step making a sharp click on the stone floor. The finally reached the door the honor guard opened the thick oak door. They walked in and the array of generals stood up."What the hell do you want Abe" said the emperor. General Gregorio stood up abruptly and turned to the large tv at the end of the table. "Here is The Olah Isles a island in Tobiasia recently there nut job marshall took command".He paused then contained "As you know we have some finical interests in Tobiasia that the political climate would not be good for...That is why I am proposing this".The projector came to life and revealed 2 military drones that had been developed last year against the emperors insistence."Here is what the plan is 2 drones come down and in 16 hours reach The Olah Isles then one will launch 1 missiles at the barracks of the revolutionaries the other will target there supply warehouse this will make it hard for them to run a invasion logistically."So what stops this from getting back to us" asked the Emperor curiously."The drones have no markings or insignias" he paused and then continued "Also with the remaining fuel the drones will fly out into the ocean and they have 2 packs of modified C4 that when mixed with water they will explode scattering the evidence across the ocean floor". "Do it" the emperor said and then he stood up and everyone else got up to and he walked out.

3:35 Sebec, Vamenlac
Sebec was a small remote town of 16,000 people,It had only 2 things that kept it in existence the mountain range that brought climbers and tourists and the army base. The army base was a small intrenchment that used to be around to protect from invaders but now held the R.R.D.C or Robotics Resource Development Center,It was headquarters was there because it was so remote and off the map it would make a great place to semi-secret development center. It also housed the drone targeting center it's title sums it up.It was there that the target was ordered.

Jasper heard the loud alarm buzz thru the barracks at 3:35.He woke up and rubbed his eye and then remembered where he was and quickly got his things on. When he was decent,He ran outside. He was excited and could not stop being so.He finally reached his small metal hut and he jumped in side.He logged into his computer and waited for orders."Jasper do you copy do you copy" a voice said thru the tiny computer speaker."I copy" he stated. "Go to coordinates..Latitude: 46.45320, Longitude: 59.01441 and await further instructions" his sergeant said. The drones were on there way.

OOC
I know it may be a little bias being loyalist and all, but two drones directly taking down a revolution seems somewhat, I don't know, direct? Dare I say, godmodding? I don't know. I suggest Tobiasia address this OOC.

Also, can we edit the first post to include a link to the OOC for everyone? Many thanks.

An official message from the Honorable
PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of ADAINIA

My fellow Adainians and nationstates of the world,

The situation in the Olah Isles continues to develop for the worst. Since I have last spoken to all of your directly of this, West Irop continues to be under siege in a stalemate growing slowly comparable, day by day, to the likes of Sarajevo or Stalingrad. And now, the eastern coasts of the Olah Isles have begun to be afflicted by Revolutionary-sided attacks. It should be very clear that the Loyalists cannot fight this fight alone. Democracy and equality die when strong men do not defend it. No one else in Cratal will choose to stand up for a nation of their own. The way I see it, and the way many others in Adainia and the world of AD01 see it, someone must take initiative to help those in need.
I hereby issue Field Marshall Irwak and his revolutionaries the following ultimatum. I implore for Irwak and his movement to tell the United States of Adainia, with formal and dignified manner, why he chooses to commit a revolution against a democratic government and replace it with what seems as of now to be a government of war. I refuse to send men to the Olah Isles to possibly die without knowing what they'll die for. I want to know with certainty what the situation in Olah was before and what it is now. If we get an answer by 10:00 PM, Wednesday March 8th, 2022, Capital Island Time, the United States of Adainia will be willing to show Irwak and his movement not only sympathy, but consideration. Dare I say, we would be willing to negotiate on the revolutionaries' behalf.
If we do not get an answer by 10:00 PM, Wednesday March 8th, 2022, Capital Island Time, I can say with high confidence that Irwak and his movement will be under serious jeopardy.

Thank you,

—President David Roberts,
United States of Adainia

President David Roberts has issued Irwak and his revolution an ultimatum. Field Marshall Irwak and his forces have until 10:00 PM, Wednesday March 8th, 2022, Capital Island Time*, to tell the United States of Adainia their cause and why they chose to commit revolution. Adainia may know plenty, but to be entirely frank, it doesn't know everything about the situation in the Olah Isles. As far as the Adainian government knows, the previous Olahan government may have been corrupt and this movement is for the better. But unless Irwak tells Adainia this, Roberts can only go with the assumption that this is a forceful military junta. If a sensible answer is given to the Adainian government, Adainia may very well be more than willing to facilitate a peace treaty between the revolutionaries and loyalist. Irwak may communicate with Adainia in whatever means necessary. Perhaps a certain interview opportunity may be perfect for this.
Within the USAF-MARINE, preparations for the possibility of conflict have started. The 33rd and 12th MEUs, currently right at the end of their work-up period, have been prepared for possible deployment at the Olah Isles. Setting sail for Point Nemo with the USAF-NAVY 4th MEU PACCOM Task Group's 12th Task Unit, the initial task force will be ready to enter Cratal and Olah Isles waters by Wednesday if it becomes necessary. CoMAR Leonard Solomon has neither confirmed nor deny if this will be the only wave of forces or if more may be deployed later.

33rd MEU
FOUR (4) Amphibious Transport Docks
33rd 1st Bat. Ground Combat Element (1,000 ttl. Marines w/ accompanying armor) (250 per ATD)
33rd 1st Wng. Air Combat Element (50 ttl. Assorted transport & attack helicopters, VTOLs, and fixed-wing aircraft) (12-13 per ATD)
33rd 1st Co. Logistics & Command Element (100 Marine personnel varying in command, intel., or logistics role w/ accompanying vehicles & helicopters) (25 per ATD)

TWO (2) Destroyers
ONE (1) SSN Submarines

TOTAL COMBATANTS ON GROUND: 2,000
TOTAL PERSONNEL (Inc. ship captains, aircraft pilots, etc.): ~7,000-8,000

Meanwhile, STORM squads 5 & 6 and 12 ADI agents have been flown into Tobiasia after presidential approval. Their current objective is to facilitate Tobiasian counterintelligence and counterterrorism operations against Irwaki aligned forces in Tobiasia until the order is given to head for the Olah Isles. A USAF-NAVY corvette has also been ordered to head for Tobiasia to facilitate missions that may very well happen shortly.

As the situation continues to worsen in the Olah Isles for the Loyalists, calls for Adainian intervention heighten alongside the tensions. Members of the Tobiasian parliament have called for Adainia to act now. Since then, there have been demonstrations within AD01 calling for Adainia's direct participation. Instead, President Roberts has issued Field Marshall Irwak an ultimatum. Irwak has until 10:00 PM Wednesday, CIT, to tell the President his motives and why his government would potentially be better than the previous. Should Irwak either not answer before then or give a "non-sensible answer," elements of the US Armed Forces' Marines will begin direct operations in the Olah Isles. When asked whether or not Adainia already has a military presence within Cratal, the President refused to comment.

OOC
*What this translates to: For my own sake, Irwak has until 10:00 PM Wednesday PST to give Adainia an answer. Should no answer be given by then, Marines will be storming in.
Perhaps a certain interview would be in Irwak's benefit? (See bottom)

The troops on the beachhead began further advancing, and eventually did all troops arrive at the city of East Irop, the real siege had began.

Off the coast of East Irop

"Your Imperial Majesty," Commander al-Junaedi leaned back into the seat, the laptop and the old familiar face before him once again. "We have made contact with the fleet of Ruskland-Preuben. If you remember, Your Imperial Majesty, they are on the same side, fighting for Field Marshal Irwak."

"Wonderful, wonderful," Emperor Tizqar III smiled through the screen as a servant bent forward towards the table next to the bed, a cup of green tea in hand. "I do hope that this has made the job of taking and occupying East Irop much easier for you and the boys, Commander al-Junaedi."

"Very much so, Your Imperial Majesty. All those troops have started landing in East Irop. The siege has begun and our chances are good."

"Good, good," the emperor slowly leaned over and took a sip of the tea.

"Our planes are now on the way there," said the commander, glancing over to the windows as tens and tens of Adab's Super Hornet planes took off into the clouds and towards East Irop. He had ordered the troopships forward; the planes were intended to soften enemy resistance and allow Adabian troops to land safely and participate in the attack on East Irop.

Siege of East Irop

Artillery pieces bombarded the city, and occasionally did troops enter the city to try to capture it, but for now, no success, unfortunately. All groups sent to the inside of the city were recalled as word had came out that Adabi Super Hornet planes were about to begin bombardment of the metropolis, and coupled with artillery fire and missile strikes, did the city blaze.

Jasper had only took 2 breaks when flying his drone across the large ocean. He was tired but kept going. He took another sip of his energy drink. He looked up and started to see land appearing on his monitor. He looked to his side and pointed out the land with much joy to the other drone operator sitting next to him.He clearly was not as excited and just gave a light grunt. As they approached the island they could clearly make out Field Marshall Irwak main camp. He looked at his monitor and advanced he was in range. He looked around and saw the main barracks. He typed in a few keys on his computer and fired. The missile flew from his drone and down to the barracks the missile shredding threw the walls and exploding inside. He could here screams. He looked over his partner had done the same fired but instead shot there warehouse destroying large ammo stores. He got one more glimpse of the carnage then turned the drone around. The drone was running on low fuel,He flew it 8 miles out to the ocean then let it drop in and the explosives were triggred leaving all over the ocean floor.

Lapra, South Olah

Irwak has been declared healthy, and began his day in the office of the President of Olah, which he took over during the revolution. He sat at his office, where various letters began flooding in. First was a letter from Adaini, promising an "ultimatum". Irwak laughed, tearing up the letter in his hands and throwing the mess into the nearby bin. His advisors around him looked concerned. "Sir dont you think that's a little rash?" Asked one. "No. Their pathetic little ultimatum means nothing. We have troops all around us, revolutionaries, Adabians, Rusken-Preuben. We will damn whatever force they place on our isles".

The second letter was from a Han state giving Irwak their support. "At last", Irwak said, "real news. Send them their thanks and to tell them to land in the East".

The third was an urgent message from a camp in West Irop, saying several tonnes of ammunition had been destroyed and backup would be nessesscery. Irwak laughed. "Of course send them more on a train. Those swine, whoever launched the drones. It is of no consequence. Let them play".

East Irop, Olah
Rusken-Preuben forces had been in and out of the city the last few days. Thousands of troops would advance, then retreat as they were beaten back by immensely brutal house by house fighting. The situation was bloody, with grenades tossed through windows, snipers picking off soldiers one by one, demoralising them. Adabi bombers had begun to set the city of 4 million people on fire. The furnace was only concentrated in the east section, where most of the fighting was. Several Preuben snipers had been burnt along with their loyalist foes. TTV News estimates about 30,000 troops have died so far.

Both sides have begun massive recruiting campaigns. The loyalists have raised around 100,000 in a week, while the revolutionaries raised about 70,000.

West Irop
Meanwhile Tobiasian troops began joining the fight in West Irop. An initial group of 10,000 arrived in the city today. Tanks began clearing the streets of snipers before the main troops advanced. Mines had been laid in the city of 3 million. Occasionally friendly troops on both sides would step on their own mines, as the chaotic siege continued. There was also a huge rise in vicious hand to hand fighting. Troops have been known to improvise weapons from signposts, pipes and spanners. Bricks were thrown when soldiers ran out of bullets, and there was a constant need for soldiers to keep their heads down, with the catchphrase "watch out, snipers about" common. About 60,000 had already lost their lives.

The interview was held later, here is the transcript:
1) For formality's sake, what is your full name and title?
My title is Field Marshall Haarld Irwak
2) What is your role in the revolution?
Aha you see, I am the revolution, without me there is no revolution[/i[
3) What were you upset about by the democratic government?
[i]Everything! The corrupt fools worked with Tobiasia, sold our souls. They took our houses to make way for plantations, they took our jobs in exchange for cheaper ones in Tobiasia. We were destitute. They gave us education but they didn't give us anything to do with it!

4) What made you decide to start the revolution?
I am a patriotic man. If i see my nation suffer, i must act.
5) If you win the revolution, what would be the first five things you do?
Firstly, ban trade with Tobiasia, take their little island and burn it to the ocean floor. Then we shall cancel all debt with foreigners. Then build, build, build! Houses, factories, shops, ships, tanks, planes, theatres, museums! All you could possibly want.
6) Before the revolution, how would you describe the Olah Isles' situation in regards to GDP, unemployment, international trade, currency inflation, and government spending/taxation?
[i]Unemployment was high! Around 23%! Our GDP was about $160 billion, for a nation of 18 million that is little. Too little. All our trade went to Tobiasia or Adainia, and a bit to Adab. All the government spent was money on health, education and welfare to please the people. Nothing to actually create jobs or build our sovereignty. Taxation was also too high, like 30%.

7) How did the previous government play a role in these factors?
Aha how do you think? They were the ones that caused this! This was their policies, they were the ones grovelling.
8) Before the revolution, how would describe the Olah Isles' situation in regards to prevalent technologies and literacy? Education?
Ah well we were actually quite developed you see. All that a result of the market flooded by cheap Tobiasian tech. When we become a fully independent nation, we shall make our own!
9) Before the revolution, how would you describe the Olah Isles' situation in regards to poverty?
Bad, terrible, many many on the streets of Lapra, dying of disease and hunger. I say no more! Only Irwak can prevent this!
10) How would your leadership act toward improving the situation in regards to the previous three questions?
When we cancel our debt, when we build jobs, then we will build a rich society from the bottom up. I would say there are about 2 million immigrants in Olah, they can go, so the public purse no longer has to feed them.
11) How would you say it's better than previous leadership?
We have proper plans! Plans that benefit Olah! Plans that benefit national Olahan citizens!
12) Is there anything that could've been done beforehand that would make revolution have seemed unnecessary?
Nothing. Our revolution was inevitable. It was fate

The Tobiasian media erupted with fury at the news 21 Tobiasian immigrants had been executed on the orders of Irwak by firing squad. Their crime? Protesting about the new regime. 60 protestors were also arrested, including several Japanese and Adainian. One man of Adabi descent was let go.

"... All talk, but where's the walk?"

Central Debate Chamber — The Adainian Capitol, Foxborough Federal District
United States of Adainia
AD01

1:07 PM, Capital Island Time

Whether or not Adainia fights for the Loyalists, let alone sends in Marines at all, hinges on whether or not both chambers of the Adainian congress agree to permit the President to do so. With the ultimatum's deadline just around the corner, it has become high time to consider the possibility and possibly ratify legislation to allow the President to formally declare war. There is only one form of issue in Adainia that is debated in unison rather than separately, and that is declarations of war. The congress has gathered in the Capitol's Central Debate Chamber to debate this issue together. The debate is spearheaded by the bipartisan, temporary committee on the Olah Isles Civil War. On one side of the debate is Senator Barbara Koole (T-BAR), a senator from Adainia's majority party "The Adainian Technocratic Party," and on the other is Senator David Bass (A-MCG), a senator from the opposition party "The Anchor Party." Facilitating the debate is President of the Senate, Vice President John Ford.

Vice President Ford begins the debate. "Representatives and senators of the incumbent Congress of Adainia, we are gathered here today to debate a matter that has grown urgent in the eyes of Adainians, people of AD01, and others across regions. I speak of the Olah Isles Civil War. Although Loyalists have fought bravely for the principles of democracy and equality, they are facing a lopsided battle against forces from other countries in support of a militant revolution. However, it is only fair to address the fact that revolution does not normally happen without cause. The time has come to decide not only how our nation will continue to address this matter, but who to assist in it. First, let's address the ultimatum President Roberts issued yesterday. The Adainian Broadcasting Network has been host to an interview with Field Marshall Haarld Irwak, which addresses the points that the President wished to hear answers to. Although the President has not told me his opinion on Irwak's answers, he has indeed told me that it counts as an answer of consideration. I have been told that there has been some points in the interview that the Congress wishes to clear up together. I invite Senator Dan Rose, member of the temporary committee on the Olah Isles Civil War, to take the floor and elaborate."

A short round of applause rings through the chamber as Senator Rose takes to the podium and begins his discussion. "Thank you, Vice President Ford. First, I would like to address the one line in particular that has confused the Congress. And I quote: "All our trade went to Tobiasia or Adainia, and a bit to Adab." Admittedly, the committee at first found themselves concerned by this and its implications. There is, apparently, a connection between Adainia and the Olah Isles—strong enough to create an economic reliance for the Olah Isles and facilitate travel between AD01 and what I believe to now be Hoenn. After some investigation, we have indeed confirmed that, despite being a rather small connection, there is indeed traffic between Hoenn and AD01 within both Gulf of Guinea and Point Nemo. The Dept. of Secretariat reports that there are a total of 121 AD01 expats living in Hoenn with the primary bulk of these expats being Adainian and living in Tobiasia. There are at least 37 AD01 expats in the Olah Isles, primarily being Adainians. Similar numbers are present with Hoenn expats in AD01. Approximately 90 Hoenn expats in AD01, primarily being Tobiasian and Olahan, primarily living in Adainia. Why there is this anomaly of travel between two regions that didn't necessarily know of each other until less than a week ago, we're not entirely sure. The reasons are irrelevant at this point. What we need to discuss is whether or not we will continue with our current situation in the Olah Isles. I turn the discussion back to Vice President Ford to begin the actual debate.

Vice President Ford and Senator Rose exchange positions with applause. Senator Koole and Senator Bass are invited to the podium for selecting who starts with a simple coin toss. Senator Bass wins. The other two take their seats as applause heads the Senator's remarks. "Thank you, thank you. Representatives, Senators, I urge you to look at the situation closely in the Olah Isles. The principles of democracy and equality which we hold dear are in danger. Now, not only is West Irop under siege, but East Irop has begun to fall victim as well. We cannot let this military junta take over the Olah Isles. Irwak is unfit to lead a nation, and you only have to look at his interview to know this. He wishes to "ban trade with Tobiasia, take their little island and burn it to the ocean floor [... then] cancel all debt with foreigners." This is clearly an illogical move. His forces, even at full strength, would be facing a stalemate if not defeat if they were to go against the entirety of Tobiasia. Cancel all debt with foreigners? That's also an illogical move. If his claims that the Olah Isles trade strongly with Tobiasia and Adainia are correct, this gives our nations the right to cancel our debts with the Olah Isles in response. It is also a move that looks bad on other nations and corporations, which may cancel their debts in response as well in a domino effect. If what Irwak says about his nation is correct, his nation also houses multinational assets. Yes, his nation is the potential victim to globalism gone wrong. But once a nation goes this far into relying on other nations to support it, pulling the plug this quickly would be economic suicide—a move that such a small nation cannot afford. He says that they have proper plans. Proper plans? Like what? I dare for Irwak to give a detailed plan of how he intends to magically build up his nation. I would be pleasantly surprised if I am wrong and he gives us his plans in great detail.
"But once again, this is all only regarding the competence of him and his junta to lead a nation. It's disregarding his clear-cut crimes against the rights that all people should have. Irwak sees no problem in executing innocent civilians on the streets. Civilians. That alone is a war-crime that calls for retribution. I would be willing to consider a full clearing of the house and revamping the government with Irwak's word if it weren't for this. We're all talk, but where's the walk? It is the opinion of me, my party and its coalition, and AD01 citizens that we are to begin conflict with Irwaki forces in the Olah Isles."

Senator Bass left the podium with applause as Senator Koole took his place. Time for the majority party to give its remarks. "Thank you, Senator Bass. I would first like to start off by saying, in contrast to what is expected in a debate, that myself, my party and coalition, and may persons in AD01 agree with many of Senator Bass's points. Irwak and his militant government are indeed unfit to lead a nation. Irwak and his militant government are indeed violating expected conduct in war and encroaching on the rights of others. But it is imperative that we acknowledge that the revolution happened for a reason. The Olah Isles fell victim to some of the worst issues that come with globalism. Foreign companies took excessive roots in the small nation. Jobs left the nation in exchange for outsourcing to Tobiasia faster than they could be replaced. And yes, I will say it: the democratic government before the civil war handled some of these issues improperly. That isn't to say that it didn't handle some things right. The government doesn't create jobs, it creates an environment for jobs to grow in. Irwak is wrong to say that money on health, welfare, and education is wasted—those are some of the very things needed to create a healthy environment for jobs in the first place. A good, capable workforce requires for it to be educated, healthy, and protected in the event of hardship.
"At this point, I think we can reach a consensus on one thing: Irwak needs to go. His incompetence and his blatant attack on the rights of people, in a warzone or not, are grounds for the necessity to remove the military junta. However, we need to reach a consensus on other matters: what will replace Irwak when he goes. I see that the opposition wishes to simply bring back the Loyalists. I say this isn't enough. An overhaul in how the nation handles its economy and interactions with foreign nations is essential to ensure the nation's prosperity."
"Excuse me, if I may interrupt," Vice President Ford said to Senator Koole. "Would I be I correct when I say there is agreement, with a majority of the Congress, that it is justified to authorize the President to send standard military forces to the Olah Isles?"
Senator Koole, keeping her cool, thought it through for a second. The answer seemed clear. "Yes, Vice President."

In voting, the Congress has approved for operations within the Olah Isles the following legislation:

Image

PREAMBLE/ARGUMENT
We, the people of the United States of Adainia as represented by Congress, in regards to Field Marshall Haarld Irwak and his militant government...
  • ...are concerned with the displayed incompetence in civil leadership, government, and economic knowledge,
  • ...are appalled at the lack of concern for observing conduct in war,
  • ...are disgusted with the lack of care for fairly elected democracy and the rights people possess.
And in regards to the situation in the Olah Isles...
  • ...understand that the islands are subject to the negative drawbacks of globalism across regions,
  • ...acknowledge that the previous democratic government did not take proper measures to counter this,
  • ...notice that something must be done to make sure the Olah Isles do not become subject to these drawbacks again.

DECREE
We, the people of the United States of Adainia as represented by Congress, hereby...
  • ...authorize and encourage the Honorable President David Roberts and/or the United States Armed Forces to commit toward non-clandestine military operations within the Olah Isles with the following objectives:
    1. Ensure the evacuation, temporary sheltering, comfort, and peace of civilians from combat zones, regardless of nationality
    2. Ensure the surrender of Field Marshall Haarld Irwak, his militant government, and any other forces which side with him
    3. Establish an elected, democratic government, which treats its citizens with equality and with rights, and in possession of a capable & fair government and economy,
  • ...order for the establishment of formal relations with the Republic of Tobiasia and the Empire of Higher Japan to facilitate conflict efforts.

Shortly after, the President issued his response to the legislation:

An official message from the Honorable
PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of ADAINIA

My fellow Adainians and nationstates of the world,

Today, I have received legislation from Congress which formally grants me and the United States Armed Forces the authority to commence military operations in the Olah Isles. After having read through it, I must say that indeed agree with the conclusion that our Congress has reached. It is important that we acknowledge that the civil war is not without just cause. However, it is Field Marshall's Haarld Irwak & his government's incompetence and lack of care for the people that we disapprove. His disrespect for conduct in war and the rights all people possess are not only disgusting, but alarming. It is for these reason that I, with heavy hand, authorize the United States Armed Forces to send in our prepared force at Point Nemo to Tobiasia for preparation.
However, I am willing to grant Field Marshall Irwak one last chance. He has until the set ultimatum time: 10:00 PM, Wednesday March 8th, 2022, Capital Island Time, to surrender and order for those supporting him to surrender. In the event that he does not comply by that very minute, we will sail in to the east to stop this conflict once and for all.

Thank you,

Additional diplomatic staff have been sent to the Tobiasian capital to establish a proper, albeit somewhat impromptu embassy to facilitate communications in the potentially upcoming war effort. A proper diplomatic envoy is sent to the Empire of Higher Japan with the same objective, spearheaded by Ambassador Amir Chandler. In regards to the situation of AD01 expats in the Olah Isles, there are 37 as mentioned in the Congressional discussion. As last reported by honorary consulates, there are 20 in cities or countryside that is not currently under siege or Revolutionary control. 10 are currently within either East or West Irop, and seven are within Lapra—at least, as was last reported until their arrest. And in addition to the 37 dedicated expats are 12 ABN reporters, last believed to be in Lapra. The ABN World Service, the Adainian government's directly controlled arm of ABN, has broadcasted an advisory to all AD01 residents in the Olah Isles:

...Increasing tensions in the Olah Isles nations are causing for potential danger to expats originating from AD01,
particularly from the United States of Adainia. Due to these increasing tensions, the Adainian government is advising
all AD01 expats within the Olah Isles to evacuate, if possible. You are advised to bring with you a device to keep you
informed, such as a battery powered radio or a smart device. Remember to keep smart devices entirely off as much
as possible, preferably with the battery out. Leaving your battery in your smart device and not turning it entirely off
may leave you prone to being tracked. The United States of Adainia will facilitate evacuation procedures in the cities
of Gardal and Ursec by airline. Proof of citizenship in the form of documentation from either the Cobalt Coalition or
the United States of Adainia is necessary to be approved.

Due to vicinity and otherwise safe conditions, all 20 within non-contested Loyalist territory were able to successfully evacuate without an issue. Four out of 10 within either East or West Irop were confirmed to have been able to leave the cities and are en route for evacuation. The other six are currently unheard from, leaving a total of 23 (including the ABN team) uncalled for. Someone needs to take action...

Some 300km away from the Olah Isles is a USAF-NAVY corvette with two Ghost Hawks awaiting the go-signal. It's 11:53 PM, local time.

Operation Broken Lei, as USAF's operations in the Olah Isles Civil War have come to be known as within Adainian Command, is about to begin. 12 ADI agents are about to be peppered throughout the Olah Isles under the cover of darkness. A combination of the Ghost Hawk's stealth capabilities, the timing, and the intentions of nearly dangerous low flight will ensure a detection possibility of nearly, if not zero percent. Objectives as of now:

  • Establish a clandestine intelligence network throughout the Revolutionaries
  • Recruit and establish partisan forces within Revolutionary territory
  • Recruit Irwaki-aligned officers, police, etc. within Revolutionary territory to sympathize, if not directly support, Loyalist causes
  • Support the rescue of AD01 expats in Revolutionary land
  • Commit acts of intrigue
"Loyalist style weapons?"
"Check."
"Documentation aligned with Loyalists?"
"Check."
"Possessing no Adainian identity or documentation?"
"As always."

The go was given. Arriving at the Olah Isles at 1:23 AM from the southwest ensured the least chance of detection. Straying away from any sign of civilization as much as possible, agents were peppered throughout forests and other uncivilized sections of Revolutionary land. The Ghost Hawks returned to their corvette, leaving the agents to fend for themselves evenly throughout the territory. This wouldn't necessarily be a problem for them, though. These were men and women at their prime, armed fairly well both in armament and knowledge. This is one of two groups that are, or will be, deployed in the Olah Isles that can be guaranteed to get their shit done. Most of these agents will, for now, be going into hiding through the most appropriate means they have. For some, this means remaining deep in the wilderness where their possibility of being found is next to zero. For others, this is as simple as silently assimilating into the countryside as travelling refugees from the cities who lost their home and need a place to sleep and work until they get themselves together again. One however, is getting their job done right now.

It's 4:00 in the morning, but that isn't slowing down the ABN crew in Lapra from desperately packing their bags in preparation to leave. "I'll be damned if we're not a target once Irwak gets word of the government's response," Anchor Annette Janvier said as she attempted to pull the zipper closed on her overflowing bag. "We need to leave the city, now. I don't know how we're going to make it out of this island but we need to at least get into the countryside before people get up." She sloppily threw the bag into a rented van, and the team drove out. On an empty road towards the outskirts of the city, they encountered their only "traffic": a man standing in the middle of the road.

Janvier left her van and went up to the man, despite rash whispers from the cameraman about not trusting men randomly standing in the middle of the road. "The hell you doing?" She asked the man.
"Anchor Annette Janvier?"
"Yeah, that's me."
"Department of Intelligence. Get the rest of your team out of the vans with any drives. You're taking the rest of the way on foot."
"What's going on? How'd you guys even know we'd be here?"
"Did you not get the memo from your very own World Service about turning off your smart devices? You don't want to go any further. I think I spotted a checkpoint some ten, twenty so klicks down the road towards the city border when I was hiking here through the trees. I suggest we take the same route. I know somewhere we can hide out for now until I can get a proper ride out of here. Not the driest place on Earth, I'll admit. But it's much better than potentially getting arrested and potentially executed. Also, leave the smart devices here. We're not getting tracked through one of the easier tricks in the book."
"Fair point." Janvier ordered the rest of her team out and to take their equipment with them and to leave their phones, tablets, and etc. behind. They followed the ADI agent out of the city and into the woods just as the sky began to turn blue with day.

Off the coast of East Irop

"Your Imperial Majesty, the troops have landed and are now making good progress through the city," Commander Karim al-Junaedi sank into his seat, a few officers standing, surrounding his chair. "Obviously we have our allies from Ruskland-Preuben to thank for paving the way. If everything goes according to plan, East Irop will be ours and we will be able to march inland."

"Good, good. You have done a great job, Commander al-Junaedi," the emperor's face appeared on the screen, frail but unwavering. "You have my thanks and the nation's, commander. You should... be proud of this great achievement. One that will be remembered for years to come, as long as there are men of yours who are still alive to tell the tale."

Great, now he's telling stories again, al-Junaedi sighed. "You praise me too much, Your Imperial Majesty. This is all because of my men, not me. I am simply their commander. I just give them some instructions."

The emperor suddenly broke into laughter. "You are too humble for your own good, Commander al-Junaedi," he said. "You know... back in my youth, during the Great War, 1915 I think, there was this great landing on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Amphibious invasion, like the one we're doing right now. I vaguely remember playing on my dear father's feet and there's this newspaper on the sofa next to him. Brave British men... Australians and New Zealanders most prominently. Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, or ANZAC. Ah, many brave souls were lost but their memory is eternal. ANZAC Cove, they call the place now. I've been there a few times. You, we, the boys... can be remembered like that. Just like them. Forever our brave deeds shall live on."

I have no time for a history lesson, old man, the commander sighed again, trying to suppress the boredom on his face. "Yes, Your Imperial Majesty... wonderful achievement indeed. Great historical event. If I may ask, Your Imperial Majesty, what does that have to do with what we are doing today?"

"It is time for us to make our own history, to add to our long list of brave and glorious deeds," the emperor explained. "Commander al-Junaedi, how far have the troops gone? Is the city secure now?"

"Not yet, but hopefully it will be soon."

"Good, because when the city is secure is when your time comes. Remember, commander, as I have told you before."

Ah yes, that bit..

"Trust me, the time will come. I shall make this clear here, Commander al-Junaedi: once the city is secure, you will get off that ship and march towards the destination," the emperor smiled slightly. "Remember."

"Yes, Your Imperial Majesty."

The Emperors Office 11:30 PM
Leo the chief of staff walked into the emperor's office right as the emperor finished his phone call with the postmaster general.”How's the postmaster general” asked Leo.”Well there's always something wrong with him?” the Emperor said. “Yeah,They just finished the air strikes in The Olah Isles” Leo stated. “And?” asked Marco the emperor inquired with giddy.”2 tons of ammunition were destroyed and 42 deaths” said Leo. “General Gregorio wants to increase the drone strikes 1 more on ammunition stashes 2 on the railway hub and 2 more on barracks” Said Leo Timidly. “Make it so” said Marco gravely.

Sebec, Vamenlac 11:40 PM
The bases bell rang and Jasper got out of his bed.He walked to the door wearing a flannel bath robe. Because of the air strikes being at all times of the base commanders basically ditched the dress code for drone operators. He got out threw on his bright tennis shoes and walked to the drone control room. He stopped for a minute to here the snow crunch under his shoes but kept on going. He finally reached it and his partner was already there."Lets go" his partner said. This was the first time he had ever heard him talk and was happy about that.He strapped in his controls and got ready to go.His handler was in his ear "Latitude: 5.69537, Longitude: 22.19039 again Latitude: 5.69537, Longitude: 22.19039".He quickly typed it in to his computer and waited and it came up on his satellite and a train hub appeared. He sat there for 8 hours only taking 2 half a hour breaks then finally land appeared. Bing Bing he was taking ground fire.He quickly ducked into clouds and was safe. Then he started to make out the trains. He went down and was struck with a massive blast from RPG he was going down he pulled up and was so close. Then his left wing came flying off.He made a dive bomb down.He finally reached the trains and went kamikaze he destroyed 3 train cars with the explosion. His partner was more lucky being able to fire his missless and then go kamikaze destroying 2 miles of train tracks and 8 cars.Apparently the other operators had worse results the ammo stash strike had been shot down and only one of the barracks strikes worked.

West Irop
Tobiasian troops had been aiding the loyalists for hours now. Tanks were rolling down the streets, but occasionally the frame would rip apart at the launch of a rocket. By house to house fighting, in every room, every building, every street, the loyalists reached the main road running through the centre of West Irop. And there, they laid the 'divine wall'. It was a barrier comprised of layers. The first was a deadly minefield, which soon met barbed wire. Then there were trenches, where troops ran up and down and prepared to fire. Then there was more wire, and more mines, and finally a group of artillery guns.

East Irop
Loyalists had started to recover from the firestorm. Civilians in groups worked to put out small fires, cars carrying fresh troops from Gardal arrived smiling. There was an air of anticipation. Following the example of their friends in West Irop, they began to devise a defence more deadly than their counterparts. Most of the civilians had been evacuated north by Tobiasian aid workers, and now the loyalists had complete reign over the city without having to worry about collateral damage.

Bombs were laid in houses and shops, wire and sandbags covered streets, mines filled outer roads. Snipers lay poised on the rooftops, and booby traps were also placed strategically. Now all the loyalists had to do was wait.

Tobiasia City, Tobiasia
President Jonathan Smith's speech
As you may know, today we received news that 12 Tobiasian soldiers had died in the fighting in West Irop. I will have to warn you that these numbers will increase. At this moment our hearts all go out to the families and friends of these brave people, who put the safety of another group of people in a far off land, above his own. I have nothing but respect for those who would give their lives so that others would not have to live in tyranny. And let it be known that their struggle, and the struggle in future, was not and shall be not in vain. Civilians are, at this moment entering Tobiasia in search of peace. Let it be known that it was the bravery of our armed forces, our aid services, and the patriots of Olah, that has saved these suffering people. Let it be known that Tobiasia will never falter when it comes to ensuring peace, freedom and democracy. Let it be known that Tobiasia will fight for the future of Olah!

Later, the President met with the diplomats from Aidania, calling them "heralds of co-operation between two glorious nations". A building has been selected, around 2 kilometres from the Tobiasian Parliament, to serve as the official Adainian embassy. Adainian troops have been invited to the special training camp near Eralac, to train with the 30,000 Tobiasian troops about to head to Olah.

Lapra
Irwak strode around his office bawling questions at his advisors. "So this drone right, this drone that just came in here and did zero damage, who's was it anyway? Do we know? Why dont we know? It wasn't Tobiasian it came the wrong way, anyway they always use piloted aircraft. It wasn't Adainia they're wimps they wouldn't dare. So who was it? Was it Adab? Do they seek to destroy me? They have not proved their loyalty all they have proved is their want of territory. I do not trust them in any way shape or form".
"Sir", interrupted a Captain, "I hate to interrupt but there are a large quantity of foreigners being held in our prisons, what do we do with them?"
Irwak froze for a moment, then a grin took over his face. "I think we send our friends in Tobiasia, Adainia and Japan a little message. Have those enemies of the revolution killed, they are of little consequence, and it will show them who is really in control. Find any of their family or descent, they die too. The members of parliament, kill them. If we lose this war, there will be nobody the loyalists can come back to, only their leader, vice-president Abraham Uzlom. Also, i want any Adabi's kept an eye on. If their nation steps a toe out of line, they are to die. Also that news crew? They've fulfilled what they need to do, have them found and brought to me, preferably not alive".

There was silence in the room. Everyone was quiet. Shocked and still. Until the captain agreed, his voice wavering as he cried, "it shall be done Field Marshall".

We have an OOC thread for a reason. I suggest y'all keep track of it. I'm probably going to be relying on it more.

Also, if I don't get an answer as to who to base Irwak on in regards to news snippets, I'm gonna pick someone like Riho Terras.

The ultimatum's deadline was only coming closer and closer. At this rate, it seems that the President will have no choice but to begin the conflict. The President gathered his top generals and vital secretaries for the upcoming operation. News was flowing in by the second.
"Gentlemen," Roberts said to his staff, "give me a SITREP on how things have been since we've last met."
This is a task reserved for Secretary Haines. "We have established a formal embassy in Tobiasia as you've requested, and our staff has moved in. We have an envoy in Higher Japan, but they have yet to respond. With all due respect to Higher Japan, my confidence in their potential participation is waning. Perhaps they have something in store like us. Evacuation of AD01 expats from the Olah Isles have begun. 20 expats have been able to evacuate safely and are now either in Tobiasia, elsewhere in Hoenn, or here in AD01. We initially thought there were only 23 left, but a recount yielded 25. Six were last reported to be in either East or West Irop, seven were arrested in Lapra, and there's our 12 ABN people. For now, we're assuming those six in the Irops are dead. An ADI agent has been able to successfully escort the ABN crew out of Lapra undetected and, if mission plan goes right, should be deep in the woods with them where they won't be spotted. They'll be picked up by Ghost Hawk later tonight before the fireworks go off."

The ABN crew emerges from the thick forest with their ADI guide to face a remote beach, far from countryside—let alone a major city. Exhausted, Janvier sits down on the sand with her bag by her side. The thirteen had been hiking for somewhat longer than twelve hours straight without a single break.
Janvier looks up at the agent. "Jesus Christ ... it's over ... right?"
The agent looks at the GPS in his satellite-connected device. The device is a risk, but exponentially much less so than devices which rely on cell towers. "Yes ma'am, I believe we're here. Now we wait."
"How do you hike for twelve hours straight and not break a sweat!?"
"Ma'am, I've been up for more than a day straight. If you're going to ask, I believe you ought to know the full extent. Either way, it comes with practice. We don't have long now, look." The agent pointed at the two low flying dots in the distance.
"Hey ... you guys know about the protesters, right? I think they ought to be rescued as well."
"I cannot comment on whether or not ADI will be trying to rescue them, that's classified information. But to be absolutely honest, the signs of conflict were arising. They should've known to have left from the start."

Soon the dots on the horizon turned into distinguishable features. Two Ghost Hawks, flying within an appalling range of less than five meters from the ground, began to slow down to land by the shoreline for a quick pick-up. There shouldn't be a difference in how difficult it is to spot the Ghost Hawks from last night in regards to radar signature. Where things became concerning was being visible. Enemy presence was minimal, if not zero towards the south anyhow. Precautions had to be taken to make sure things stayed that way.

The ABN crew boarded their rides with haste while one of the Ghost Hawk gunners threw the agent a backpack of supplies. "Hey sir," Janvier yelled at the agent, "Aren't you coming!?"
"No," he yelled back with a smile, "I've got work to finish."

The agent disappeared back into the woods as the helicopters took off for their low flight back to the corvette. No complications were had with their return.

And now for a Presidential speech from the Honorable
PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of ADAINIA
DAVID ROBERTS

My fellow Adainians and nationstates of the world,

Allow me to recap the events that have happened since last week. The Olah Isles in Hoenn suffered a great loss. This was not simply the loss of lives. This was the loss of a livelihood. On March 3rd, 2022 CIT, Olahan Armed Forces Field Marshall Haarld Irwak executed and arrested members of the nation's parliament. He declared the nation his dominion, and established a military junta within the south. Since then, the islands have been subject to a grueling civil war where other nations of shame began to support Irwak's revolution. His revolution goes against the very principles that AD01 has grown to understand as important: the ideas of a democracy which treats all equally, the fact that people have certain rights which may never be taken away, and that this very government would be stable and approach problems with a diplomatic mindset.
We must be frank and acknowledge that the previous government in the Olah Isles wasn't perfect—far from it, in fact. It was a government that did not know how to approach the issues that come with globalism. However, what Field Marshall Irwak intends to bring forth isn't a solution. It is simply a step back to where the nation was, if not a step back. And we must once again address the fact that Irwak's government is not just incompetent, but disrespectful if not outright alarming. It is the duty of the free world to not just stand as a bastion for democracy, freedom, and equality—it is the free world's duty to act as a sentinel for these values, and defend them wherever, no matter the cost. The brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces' Marine-corps have been preparing for this responsibility since AD01 became wary of the crisis.

And now, due to a lack of responsibility on part of Field Marshall Irwak and his forces, I hereby order for the commencing of Operation Broken Lei with the intent on following through with yesterday's legislation.

Thank you.

Off the coast of Tobiasia was Task Force Broken Lei, the name given to forces fighting within its namesake operation. Consisting currently of the Marine and Naval forces deployed earlier in the week, it is the initial landing force that will be sent to the Olah Isles to establish a base of operations. At the helm of the operation is General Leon "Roaring" Adam, a seasoned general from the USAF-MARINE. The task force awaits for permission to commence operations.

The call comes in from the Citadel in Adainia. "General Adam, this is ADCOM. Be advised, you are clear to begin Operation Broken Lei. Repeat, you are clear to begin Operation Broken Lei. Good luck, General, go get 'em."
"Roger, ADCOM, read you loud and clear. Leon out." Adam switches channels to communication to all TFBL ships.

"All callsigns, this is General Leon Adam. I have received confirmation that Operation Broken Lei is a go. Repeat, we are go! All ships, into formation and set course for the Olah Isles—we're off to fight!"

The task force sets sail for an approach on the Olah Isles from the western coasts, contrary to the occasional plans publicly thrown around. With the enemy primarily focused on the eastern coasts and a Tobiasian presence in the west, the approach is one with no resistance.Today's target is the relatively small island to the south of the Tobiasian military base and west of the Revolutionary main island. To the west of the action and relatively close to allied support, it's the perfect area to build an MOB and a refugee camp. Initial scouting of the island was spearheaded a few hours from full touchdown by two Marine companies via. helicopter and accompanied by attack helicopter and multirole jet elements. Being primarily rural land with little developed settlement, resistance was limited to a range between armed civilians to the occasional smaller proper Revolutionary garrison. Having caught the Revolutionaries without them having laid out detailed defenses from incoming forces, the battle for the island was a decisive victory with three Marines wounded. Civilians had their weapons confiscated and were sent to the mainland for the Loyalists to do what they wish with. There were a total of three Revolutionaries that were arrested as POWs. They were thoroughly examined and had all weapons and contraband removed. For now, they will remain in holding cells throughout the task force's ships until the MOB and camp are complete. As is standard USAF protocol, these POWs will be fed fairly, treated with a fair amount of respect, and watched closely. The USAF's logistics chain can, after all, handle this and much, much more without breaking a sweat.

The remaining bulk of the task force arrived relatively shortly after. The L&CE company began laying down the foundations for the island's MOB and camp—a complex which will henceforth be known as Fort Maxwell. The MOB is planned to take the island's northern half and it to the mainland with a bridge. With plans to include a proper airplane runway, hangars, and etc., it will act as Adainia's base of operations in the region. On the southern half of the island, separated securely from the MOB, is planned to be the island's refugee and POW camps. They will be of equal size and separated securely from each other to prevent mingling between the camps. Both camps will be fitted with a similar amount of amenities as the MOB—including warm barracks and showers, well stocked mess halls, and opportunities to spend time outside or inside recreationally. The primary difference between the two lies in strictness and communication with the outside world. Plans for the POW camp are to screen, limit, and possibly censor POW communication with those outside the camp. Communicative devices will also be confiscated upon arrival with POWs and considered contraband.

In response to recent events, the emperor has authorized the doctrine of unrestricted missile and submarine warfare. Everywhere are submarines raiding enemy commerce, and currently the rest of the missile stockpile had been fully armed and are ready for launch at any time. Long range bombers also have been deployed, and are currently flying to Olah as we speak.

Speaking of Olah, naval assets in the east have been reinforced with more submarines, and missiles have been launched at enemy naval units in the west. Amphibious landings are occurring too, as Ruskland-Preuben troops land at the shores of East Irop.

The Defense of Maxwell

Fort Maxwell
Olah Isles
Hoenn

10:35 PM, Local Time

General Leon "Roaring" Adam sits in the command room of a destroyer, overlooking the developments of Camp Maxwell, some 50km+ away, and his naval forces around him. Suddenly, the senior radar operator sounds off the alarm bells.
"General, we have spotted 33 cruise missiles flying in fast over Olah Isles vectoring to our pos. from OPFOR positions. Our towed sonar arrays have also detected a submarine attempting to sneak up on us, while our radar systems are spotting long range bombers coming in. COMINT reports it's all Ruskland."
Adam scoffed. If there was one thing the US Armed Forces does right, it's the Navy. Taking care of this volley will be a cakewalk.

The naval force is ordered to keep movement around a 10km radius. Missiles aimed at the TFBL's naval force were easily taken care of. A majority of the incoming cruise missiles were downed with SAMs, leaving one last straggler to be downed by CIWS. Electronic countermeasures are used to mask the naval force's position and profile in radar and other electronic detection means, effectively rendering it invisible to submarine. Two anti-submarine missiles are fired at the incoming sub, each from flanking directions.
Two destroyers and the force's submarine are separated from the bulk of the naval force to enhance protection of Fort Maxwell in construction, sailing to a spot ~20km from the island's southwestern tip. Any bomber that would come within a 150km radius of Fort Maxwell will be within optimum range and fired upon by SAM.

East Irop

Commander Karim al-Junaedi and his officers had established their temporary headquarters in a half-ruined bakery directly facing the shore, and the mighty ships of Adab on the blue horizon. Soldiers from Adab had landed in great numbers, following on the footsteps of the troops of Ruskland-Preuben, and were now making their way across the city, through charred streets and ruined buildings. Guards were posted at and around the bakery, though not in overly large numbers, so as not to give away the commander's location. Above them the planes streamed across the sky, raining down fire and death upon enemy positions. The intensity of said bombardments had lessened a bit, though, in order to give the troops on land more time and space to conduct the operation.

"Commander al-Junaedi, it is good to hear from you again," Emperor Tizqar's familiar voice echoed off the laptop and on the walls of the bakery. "Have you heard the news, Commander? The nation of Adainia has begun their own operation here. Silly bunch of fools, they are. Broken Lei? Hah! It sounds like the title for some crappy martial arts B movie. Nevermind, though, this operation is doomed to failure, crushed by the united might of Field Marshal Irwak and all his allies, including Adab, of course."

The conversation went on for a few minutes in a cordial manner; the Emperor and the Commander went through the battle plans once again and dived into a brief discussion regarding the political and social climate back home. Al-Junaedi was admittedly not very pleased to have to talk with the Emperor from time to time, although he did value his wisdom and advice. Although he bore the old man no ill will, the Commander wished sometimes that he would just go away and let him - the man on the field - do his job.

Amidst the smashed windows and cracked walls did Commander al-Junaedi and his officers treat themselves to cake and tea, brought directly from the Salah ad-Din. They did not enjoy themselves for long, though, for some soldiers soon barged through the door and into the bakery. One of them was walking with a noticeable limp; obviously he had been wounded in the leg not long ago.

"What is the meaning of this?" one officer said, still on his seat, as his fellow officers rushed to finish their tea. Behind them, near the wall, al-Junaedi sat still, a worried expression forming on his face.

"Snipers!" the wounded soldier hollered, as if he had seen the end of the world. "They're everywhere! The rooftops! We were caught... in an ambush! We had to abandon our platoon leader in the middle of the street-"

"What kind of soldier abandons his leader in the middle of the street?!" the Commander declared, rising to his feet and walking over to the soldiers. "What disloyalty is-"

"Y-you don't understand! You didn't see it!" another one of the soldiers chimed in. "He was wounded on both legs, toppled over on the street... still trying to crawl over to that building! We tried to finish off the sniper but in the heat of the moment we were unable to do so and decided that it was best to take cover. Poor guy... one shot to the head was enough to end it all. He went mad as life slipped away from him."

"Some units are stopped on their tracks out there," yet another soldier declared. "This is outrageous. We need to act quickly."

"And act quickly we will," the Commander said, walking around and around the table. "Look, we will finish off those snipers with all that we have. And leave nothing behind for them or their replacements to use, if necessary. I want our own snipers to be placed on buildings securely in our territory, battling it out with our enemies. At the same time I want all units to continue their advance. Pop smoke if you have to! Once you see a sniper, pop smoke, and move through the smoke to the walls of the sniper's building, so he won't be able to see you. Infiltrate the building, kill the beast from behind. Should that be too hard, air support will be provided. Bombs, guided missiles, whatever you call it. Critics and peaceniks and activists will hate but there's no such thing as an overkill. I'll turn this whole city to dust if I have to."

Lapra
Irwak paced around his room, gesticulating wildly. "Why would Adainia land there? Why? They have plans, i know it. They cannot be allowed to reach West Irop. If they did we would lose the siege, and the war. We must block their path!" "There is another solution", interrupted an advisor, "we have to take West Irop within the next week. We use waves of attack to break them".

West Irop
As loyalists and Tobiasians stood in the trenches, they had no idea about the incoming assault. Suddenly with a crack of a gun, Irwak's troops stepped out of the mist. Thousands and thousands were running towards them, regardless of casualties. Men were being caught on wire, blown to pieces by mines, torn apart by artillery and cut down by gunfire. But still they advanced. The line was becoming overwhelmed, this was unexpected, why would Irwak use his "brave revolutionaries" as expendable? As troops swept into the defensive line, the order to retreat was given, and the loyalists and Tobiasians alike retreated to the buildings. The advance was only stopped by a counterattack by Tobiasian Aardvark tanks which managed to halt Irwak's soldiers. By then the offensive had pushed the battle line back 2.1km, and resulted in the deaths of thousands.

Image
Tobiasian Aardvark tanks halt the offensive

East Irop
Loyalist snipers had just ambushed Adabi troops defending their leader. Bullets were shooting around, guards were running and being struck down. The counterattack begun by Adab sent more soldiers through the buildings. The snipers began throwing grenades, onto the street, through windows, and from rooftop to rooftop. The screams of Adabi troops could be heard. But soon the Adabi's began a new tactic. They used smoke, then ran into buildings and stabbed the snipers in the back. The tide was turning now. But these snipers were no ordinary snipers. The elite guards, the Uloha, used to guard the Olahan Parliament. Trained in Tobiasia by one of the most respected elite forces in the world, they were top of their game.

What soon came about was a bloody scene of hand to hand fighting all across the rooftops of East Irop. Knife fighting left many Adabi's and Uloha alike lying in a pool of blood.

Three Ulohan however, were using another method. Sneaking through the water pipes, they travelled undetected, until they were underneath the bakery. Piling explosives, two escaped back through the tunnels, whilst the last stayed, to light a match, and let the whole place blow, and what an explosion it was.

OOC: I didn't think you would like the death of very high ranking leaders Adab :D i leave this up to you to decide who left early, who was wounded but survived, who died etc :)

More OOC: Yeah I meant "no damage" as a retort rather than an accurate analysis :D

In the Senate Building of Schlade, Groβartigesland

After hours of discussing, arguing, and debating, Chancellor Hans Gobels and Prime Minister Heinrich Zeighen have made their decisions: to interfere with the on-going war in the Olah Isles. The senate meeting has ended and the chancellor heads to his office not far away. Now that the decision is clear, the news quickly spread throughout the country. Most applaud the government's decision, but some disgruntled citizens are not pleased. This however did not stop the operation. Hans ordered General Oliver Gert to lead his ships towards Olah Isles.

Briefing room in a building in the coastal city of Pavelline

The general entered the room with his officers and comrades. He is about to brief them about the operation.

"Alright boys, here's the plan: the chancellor only allowed us to use one battlecruiser: Gryon, three cruisers: Egadine, Dehausen, and Himmelsdorf, and two destroyers: Anzer and Yasvik. With the speed and mobility of our ships, we will arrive at the north of West Irop approximately seven hours. We have no intel on the enemy so we have to be prepared for everything. When we reach 25km from West Irop, we go around and defend Lapra. Once we get the intel, we can inform the military and begin an invasion by land. Remember, our main objective is to provide intelligence and support for our allies. Is that clear?"

"Yes sir!" Everyone replied.

Gert's fleet has mobilized and will arrive at Olah Isles soon. As always, the news spread throughout the cities of Schlade, Gryon, Dehausen, and many more major cities. It will just be a matter of time of when they encounter an opposition.

Transfer of Command

War Room — The Citadel, Foxborough Federal District
United States of Adainia
AD01

1:03 PM, Capital Island Time

CoMAR Leonard Solomon is speaking directly with Leon "Roaring" Adam through a livefeed. "General, starting today, ADCOM will halt micromanagement and allow you full control over Operation Broken Lei. We have a lot a fate in you to get this done right."
Adam gives Solomon a slight bow in respect. "Thank you, Commander. Adainia won't be let down under my watch. May we go over what we discussed yesterday?"
"Yes, of course. First, reinforcements. We'll be sending in a doubling force from what you currently have. That outta give you a total of four MEUs and two naval task units. Since the airfield in Fort Maxwell is in operating order, we will also be sending in air squadrons for air superiority, SEAD, and attack detail. We intend to send in a strategic bomber squadron as well, but I believe it would be best to assign them to an airfield in Tobiasia if possible. I have high confidence in their cooperation with us. We'll send in a USAF-ARMY company to supervise and control Fort Maxwell's refugee and POW camps with a primary focus towards support and MP roles. Haines and Palmer are rather ... reluctant, to assign their ADI agents and STORM squads within the theater under your direct command, but for all intents and purposes, we're throwing them in the ORBAT. They're yours de facto."
"Excellent, Commander. Any intelligence reports?"
"As a matter of fact, yes. We have an update on the participating nations."

Image

Solomon gives Adam the run-down. "Two new nations to be wary about: Vamenlac and Grossartigesland. Last one's a tongue twister, eh? Anyway, the former is BLUFOR and the latter is REDFOR. Vamenlac doesn't seem to be contributing greatly or be planning to, but Grossartigesland is another story. According to their domestic media, it appears that they may be sending in three cruisers, two destroyers, one battlecruiser. For now, I'd hunker down navally. In regards to Higher Japan and the Liberalterian Coalition, we are at the point where I have low-to-zero confidence in the continued participation of either. I'd be flexible to accommodate surprises, but I wouldn't worry too much. Some bad news with Adab and Ruskland: seems they just had a misunderstanding. Looks like they're in kahoots. They're the only two I'd be focusing on at the moment."
Adam nods. "Very well. What's your take on the situation as of now?"
"Chances are, Irwak is expecting you to head for West Irop head on and join the melee. My opinion? Fuck that noise, that's sending men into a meat grinder with no results. I say we cut off Irwak's men from West Irop entirely." Solomon pulls up a map of the Olah Isles and draws a red line across the Revolutionary Island's northwestern tip.

Image

Let the remaining Revolutionaries in West Irop bleed out logistically. Cut off any bridges, tunnels, et cetera from West Irop to the Revolutionary island—there won't be a fight in West Irop if a contender can't even get there at all. Have a band of men on that line I drew. Send in your STORM squads to destroy field artillery, supply lines, that sort of thing from the line to West Irop. The bulk of your force should be facing southeast to defend from the potential counterattack. Your naval forces can defend the southern end of the line from enemy naval forces, but not so much in the north. I would have anti-ship emplacements there, just in case. Don't forget your anti-air, as well—have a healthy mix of SAMs, MANPADs, and figher jets on standby in case your enemy knows what SEAD is. Your ground armor and Marines should be more than capable of handling standard expected ground threats."
"The forces that might be allocated in response may be overwhelming regardless for such a thin line of defense, especially if it goes against our favor."
"I'll tell Haines then to get his agents to do something nuts. If they cause enough of a ruckus I think it'll cause their Revolutionaries to be under too much chaos to send you an overloading force."
"Good, good ... say, what's that in the background?"
"Oh, that? One of your Marines sent us an operation patch design for consideration. It's been the only one so far."

Image

Adam gives Solomon the sort of nod and face that says "Not Bad." "Pretty good, I guess. Definitely will do for now. Might actually finalize it. What's that Esperanto on the bottom? 'Democracy dies when good men let it'? That's kinda snazzy. My Esperanto's a little rusty though. I hope to God that isn't pulling off a 'The Romans, they go to the house.'" Solomon and Adam have a chuckle, and the livefeed ends.

The requested reinforcements are being shipped to the Olah Isles. Two MEUs (the 7th and 14th,) another task unit from the PACCOM fleet, and a USAF-ARMY company for the refugee and POW camps are expected to arrive by next week, and dedicated air squadrons for air superiority, attack, and SEAD detail will touchdown on Fort Maxwell tonight. Ambassador Walters has privately informed Tobiasia of the USAF's wishes to send in a strategic bomber squadron to be stationed in Tobiasia for use in the Olah Isles Civil War. The strategic bomber squadron will only be sent in with Tobiasian government approval.

Operation Cut-Throat

Olah Isles
Hoenn

4:00 AM, Local Time

Alarm bells sound off within ships in the Task Force fleet. It's go time.

An air squadron consisting of seven jets (callsign Apollo: three on air superiority, two on SEAD/ECM, and two on attack/bomber detail,) takes off from the fleet ships, shortly after followed by five Blackfishes filled to the brim with Marines, bringing forth a total of 16 squads of 10. The air squadron will clear the airways while the Blachfishes paradrop their Marines along the defense line. These Marines are to less act as the primary defense, and more as the pathfinders that'll take out vital targets (anti-vehicle emplacements, Revolutionary outposts, and patrols,) and mine important roads. Once given the all-clear, the proper amphibious landing will begin along the south end of the line.

Such a force is easy to spot flying in the air. "Apollo 3-1 to Apollo 2, we're getting SAM lock-on!"
"This is Apollo 2-1, already on it." A burst of chaff covers the aircraft into a cloud of the material, masking their position to radar. A SAM missile passes by in the distance as Apollo 2-1 fires off an ARM at the source, causing a SAM platform to explode below. Further air disturbances are addressed in a similar fashion.

The 16 Marine squads paradrop over the line in in pairs of two, spread out relatively evenly. Catching their enemy early in the morning gives them an advantage, but being in close vicinity to a high value target balances out the awareness. Important roads (primarily being highways, freeways, etc.) are overwatched as squads take up garrisons in whatever shelters are available in the countryside. The provided air squadron's attack jets prove to be vital in the securing of the line. In the initial reconnaisance phase, the USAF suffers 14 deaths, 23 casualties in total. An LCAC landing is made on the southern end of the line, stationing the 33rd MEU's ground assets on the line. A dedicated FOB, Camp Kearsarge, is established on the line's center. Combat engineers help to fortify the line with haste, allowing only two choke-points toward the north and south ends of the line in order to funnel opposition to easily defended points. Forces along the line are less expected to entrench themselves, but rather to maintain the ability of "flexible response"—using the principles of combined arms and fast, mechanized warfare to their advantage.

Ghost Hawks from Fort Maxwell deploy STORM 5 and 6 with light vehicles west of the line along the coast, in between the line and West Irop. Their objective is to take out key targets (primarily remaining field artillery, logistics, etc.) Keeping a pace faster than the Revolutionaries can respond in, the squads strike their targets with deadly efficiency and effectiveness. They only commit to this mission for two hours, whereupon they drop off their light vehicles at Camp Kearsarge and head into the countryside and forests between West Irop and the line. They'll remain in this area for some time in order to clean up remaining resistance bound to be hiding. They are not, however, ordered to attack West Irop—they are in fact to avoid it at all costs. The USAF intends to let the Revolutionaries held up in West Irop fatigue themselves out. Without a logistics line between West Irop and the bulk of Revolutionary land, the battle cannot last much longer on their end.

...

An ADI agent, hiding deep within the forests in the Revolutionary island's southern end, has a plan for divergence.

A small, humble, and abandoned squatter's cabin sits lonely in a relatively dry clearing. This cabin has been this agent's hideout since his arrival. However, word has come from ADI's "Grasshopper" number station—ADI agents are to focus their efforts either east or north. It would be a waste, however, for this agent to simply abandon this old thing. He sets up his soon-to-be torn down home for the "demolition." And by demolition, he means burning.

He lights a match within the cabin's interior that he has carefully arranged into the nation's finest tinderbox and quickly marches out. Within ten minutes, the entire thing is ablaze. He takes a pre-prepared torch and lights it with his oversized bonfire. Using the torch, he strategically walks around the clearing, lighting up the dry grass as he goes. He stumbles out into the woods and looks back at his handiwork. There is no more clearing, only flame. And with that flame, the surrounding trees and foliage begin to fall under its influence as well. He pats himself on the back and begins to walk out. The nearest settlement of any caliber is a village some dozen kilometers off. There's a good chance someone has already called the authorities about this, but by the time a response capable of handling the fire arrives, he believes the fire would've already expanded further. Forest fires, if they get out of hand, are incredibly hard to put out But he doesn't know for sure—he isn't a professional arsonist. Regardless of what happens, it will certainly serve as a distraction from what matters most to the Revolution and as a possible strain on Revolutionary supplies. Perhaps they can use it later as material to call Irwak incompetent. He doesn't know this for sure either, but will see an answer in time.

Once he's within a relatively safe distance, he calls the nation's emergency number with a pre-paid phone. "Hello!? This is the authorities, right? I'm calling to report there's a huge fire growing over here! ... what!? Shit, I dunno where I am—butt-fuck nowhere for all I care! Just do something, fast!"

For some reason I more fear a forest fire causing excessive damage than I do a defense line. I think it's safe to say that it's only proper that I let you decide how out of hand it gets. ;^)

Imperial Adabian Ship Salah ad-Din, off the coast of East Irop

Lieutenant Commander Rashid Salman was supposed to be at rest now in his office, or rather the commander's office, but what was the difference now that the Commander himself had left ship and made Salman the highest-ranking man onboard? One cup of coffee too many was all it took to make the poor man grow restless; coffee seemed to be the common addiction of Adabian seamen. Instead of sitting and watching the great blue skies, crisscrossed by the mighty planes of the state, he was now pacing back and forth across the office, with only his bored officers to watch him between games of chess.

The Adabian troops were making good progress in the city, or so reports claimed. Although heavy fighting continued, the Adabians were finally able to counter the threat posed by the defenders, especially those wretched snipers. That being said, the defenders appeared to be pretty skilled and tough to kill. The troops were now, slowly but surely, advancing through the city, but casualties were falling at a higher rate than before. This clearly wasn't turning out to be an easy job.

A knock on the door and another, and it was as if the door almost toppled over with the sound. "For God's sake I hear you!" the Lieutenant Commander bellowed, slightly irritated. "Just come in for the love of our Creator! You know there's no need to make that much noise!"

Into the room ran a young seaman, sweating and breathing heavily. "There's a speedboat fast heading our way!" he ran to the windows, trying to catch a glimpse of the object. "From the coast! I swear I saw Commander al-Junaedi and some other folks there. The Commander seemed to be badly wounded."

"Wait, what?" Salman and his officers rushed to the windows. The speedboat was clearly heading towards this ship, making its way between two troopships, as a crowd of seamen gathered on the deck to see what was going on. They recognized the wounded, bloodied man on the boat as soon as they saw him. The man was brought up to the deck and into the sick bay. Salman and his senior officers hurried there and was instantly greeted by the sight of bandages and the smell of blood.

"God... I was lucky," Commander Karim al-Junaedi muttered slowly, his cheeks somewhat cut open, arms half-drenched in blood. "I... was just out for a cigarette, then it blew up."

"What blew up?" Salman demanded. "The bakery? The headquarters?"

"Yeah, that one."

"What about our officers there?!"

"Dead. All of them. I was lucky... because I was out. The next thing I remember... there was this big bang and smoke everywhere, and I was... down... on the dusty ground... crawling towards the beach. Then some folks carried me while some others ran... to see what was happening."

"Then you were put on the boat."

"Yeah," al-Junaedi sighed. "I didn't even anticipate it. Some enemies... they must have somehow sneaked into the place. Under the place, maybe."

"They sure were stubborn."

"Only one solution: more and more bombing. Our planes... they bomb the buildings, bomb the ground, bomb the enemies, all of them... blow them away to kingdom come. Every time we see snipers, call air support... bomb them all. Bomb them all."

The Lieutenant Commander understood the order, of course. Bombing was to be intensified, exceeding even current levels. All buildings, everything with snipers in it would be blown up, all enemy positions would be blown up. Should ground troops see any dangerous concentration of enemies ahead, those enemies would be blown up too. Planes would be flying all across the city, bombing any and all potentially dangerous structures. They would be left with no place to hide. Close combat between armies on the ground was, of course, inevitable, but for now aerial bombing was given the higher priority. Adabian troops were ordered to advance slowly, keep guard, hold on to and fight fiercely for the areas securely under their control, and immediately report any large and/or dangerous enemy concentrations ahead, so that air support could help to annihilate them as quickly as possible.

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.

Gert's fleet has arrived 25 kilometers northeast away from East Irop

Inside the bridge of the flagship GNG Gryon, General Gert rings Chancellor Hans Gobel for the report.

"Good morning Sir Gobel. We have just arrived in the territory of Olah Isles. The conflict is concentrated in the city of West Irop, far away from our position therefore we can operate in stealth near this peninsula near the city."

"That's good to hear. Continue your operation as will be sending reinforcements soon." Hans then brought his phone down.

Gert's fleet continues to advance towards the city of East Irop until one of his officers have spotted ships of unknown origin to them. Gert orders his fleet to turn around and keep their distance towards the unknown ships.

"Sir...do you know who they are?" One of his worried officers asked.

"No, I don't. Keep distance towards those ships for who knows what they will do to us. Radio them in; let's see if they respond."

Meanwhile in Gobel's office in Schlade, one of his informants rushed into his room to bring him bad news. The tanks he requested for the invasion cannot be airlifted.

"What!? That is impossible, we tested this not long ago." The chancellor said angrily.

Silence filled the room, then the chancellor asked if there are other vehicles that can be airlifted.

"Are there anymore options aside from the Leopard 2?"

"We have some tanks from the LAP Project, which if you remember is a remodification of the French ELC Project. We have the LAP S-11 ATGM, LAP Crotale EDIR, LAP 75mm, and the LAP 100mm. If you would like sir, we can assemble them now and they will be in East Irop within five hours."

"Send them in then, along with the infantry regiments. We should start phase two of our operation soon."

The forces will land on the peninsula above East Irop soon.
