That doesn't make any sense. Military technology didn't advance very much between 1783 and 1861.

This is an an alternate history when Sir Isaac Newton interchangeable parts, steam engine, and lithography in 1649. The industrial hink revolutions occurs in 1600s rather than the 1800s. Think Yankee kentucky Rifles vs. Rebel 6.5mm Mauser bolt actions, too.
