No it's taking place now, but whether or not it falls and it gets burst comes later on.

So what I have in mind is that:

- Battle for Guido Peaks falls to Atla, NP troops repulsed and defeated, Atla holds Guidou and has strengthened air control over the Dongshan (put a radar on there will you)
- New Phallia seizes Foolnot Heights successfully
- Christo manages to land and seize Dundee Dam

- Atla holds Central Pass and Tshinan Pass, inflicts heavy casualties (Atla traps and mauls 6th Mountain Brigade which passed through?)

Whether Twelve wants to execute his blockade and start the naval battle with Christo now is up to you guys. NP is only starting its diversion attacks- the main one will come through the north from Shentong, but we are hiding that for now.

Murovanka wrote:Aye Noveos, sounds good. But if Atla knew about it, wouldn't they just hand it over? What if it's fall was in several pieces with sensitive equipment, codes and information, and only Christo and you know that it landed roughly in the area (Christo detects a setellite goes missing). You don't want Atla to get their hands in it either so you don't tell them.

May also be the reason Christo wants to do the Dundee Dam landing. Perhaps a small detachment of his breaks away to locate parts of the satellite. If you guys could do a bit of reading into satellites and what could be on it that would be 'sensitive' that's great.

I will be posting the opening war post next, after which Christo can send in his battalion.

Brilliant! So just me and Christoslavia, then. I agree with having it in several pieces-one of them being very important. A fail-safe in my satellite protects the circuits in such an emergency, but it was installed under the assumption we'd know how to find it. If Christoslavia were to find the fail safe, he'd have access to Noveos military and cyber-warfare operations, before we figure out how to change our cybersecurity. Did I mention this happened before conflict escalated? Now, this would also mean that I'd have to deploy a spec-ops unit. I can prepare for this, since I'm bringing in transport planes. @Achesia @Murovanka, do you approve of this?

The pieces are spread out in the area between the Dongshan Mts. and the Dundee Lock.

I think its excellent. To keep it simple should we say its that one critical component which may have logs to military and cyberwarfare comms and intelligence as well as security codes? That would compromise all of your espionage operations.

I was also thinking on the lines of some new critical technology. Assuming Christo is a nuclear weapon state, it could be one that could detect and lead intercepting of ICBMs, have defense mechanisms to evade anti-satellite missiles (they exist) or are near jam-proof. Reasons for any state to want their hands on that. I just don't know how large such components would be, and of course when it falls to the ground there is no reason to know it is that component and whether it survived such a fall. Maybe it emits a signal, albeit weak due to damage.

What were they, I don't mind changing it. I pretty much went along with the plan that was 'leaked' by Noveos. Will you also organize the SLA to launch guerrilla attacks in the Shentong? (The Shentong SAR as marked on the map, not the Dongshan)

Image

The plan anyway is for the two divisions in the Shentong (the one marked by the red boundaries) to hook in from the north to Diapur and surround the Dongshan while the divisions in the Dongshan (between the Wein and Shentong SAR) *try* to move into the Dongshan (but I think that is easily defensible so I thought I'd take heavy casualties against guerrilla/commando forces there).

My SF team is in Shentong, near Kuantong City. I'm trying to link up with SLA forces and sabotage NP supplies and such. The limited roads will make supplies vulnerable, I would think, since it is largely mountain terrain.

Yeah that makes sense Manticora, and you can have choppers airlift men out and in like the way they came in, but do take into account the NPAF exists. You can take down a brigade command element in an ambush together with the SLA too or just hit logistics and infrastructure. I assume atlish commandos will try the same.

Yeah. Unfortunately, helo exfil isn't an option, not without fighter cover. It would also be an admission of the existence of SF troops that officially don't exist.

Nation/Organisation/Character: 8th Independent Army("VIII Legio") lead by Primarch "The Dark King" Halasker Curze
Alignment (Phallia/Atla/Neutral):New Phallia
What do you plan to do?:Removal of the Dundee Lock(Peacefully or Forcefully),Hasten the Demise of the SLA, Establish Peace in the Region
RP Sample:

Midday, 2000, A Unknown Country

A Sukhoi Su-24M flew overhead in the sky, cruising at around 500mph at 1300m. Its tail colored a dark combination of black and blue, and upon it was the insignia of the VIII Legio, a skull with red wings protruding from it. Upon its fuselage was the Cesopiumian roundel and wings, the number "3" and below the Cockpit, written was the title of the Comitatus of which the aircraft was assigned to for the campaign. Written in a crimson pigment, it read "The Crimson Judges".

"Approaching the target, 600 feet"

'"You are clear to engage"

Pulling the trigger, the pilot unleashed the arsenal of the Su-24M, firing off the 3 laser guided Kh-29L air-to-surface missiles one after another down upon the target. Following this, he began to discharge the plane's 23mm cannon into the target.

The target in question was a quaint little isolated town which had been accused of rebellious attitudes and potential terrorism within the region the VIII Legio was occupying. They had perhaps thought they were safe due to being far away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, but this was not the case. The unit was infamous for more or less performing "sanctioned terrorism" upon enemies, and when acting as a occupational government was prone to draconian punishments for even the smallest of crimes.

The missiles ripped apart a few buildings, waking up anyone who was not awake already as the 23mm cannon fired indiscriminately in houses and shops alike.

The sounds of screaming and smoke of the flames would conceal the next time. from outskirts of the settlement appeared a contingent of VII Legio vehicles painted in the standard Dark blue and sometimes grey livery that was standard regulation among Comitatus vehicles and aircraft in occupational duties where camouflage would not be needed. A platoon of BMP-3s accompanied by a single Type 99 tank descended upon the town.

Painted upon the Type 99 were extensive images of death and woe, to terrify the enemy. A entire family ran out of their homes to surrender to the advancing forces, huddling together in fear. They were swiftly met with a shot from the 125mm gun fitted on the Type 99, giving them a fast and painless death.

A BMP-3 ran down the remains of the family in a casual manner, coming to a halt in the middle of a road, the rear of the vehicle opened up. Men poured out of the vehicle, 9 in total. These men were a "Terror Squad", a specialist formation within the 8th Independent Army. A unit dedicated to unleashing maximum punishment in the most personal way possible. Head hunters, flayers, torturers and mutilators, regarded as the most most dispassionate and darkly imaginative members of the VIII Legio.

Fanning out into streets and houses, not shortly behind them was the standard soldiers contained within the other three infantry infantry fighting vehicles would follow suit. While as compared to the Terror Squads, there objectives were to eliminate anyone they found. The BMP-3s upon unloading their passengers would begin to speed down streets, firing there 100mm guns into cottages and shacks alike. Aiding them was the accompanying Type 99 which proceeded to join in the mayhem, as well as spraying machine gun fire all over the streets upon encountering anyone that they could find.

Before this had all begun, operatives of the VIII Legio had cut all communications going into and out of the town ensuring that no one would know about the actions that took place besides seeing themselves the bloodshed and agony which the residents would have to endure in the hours to come throughout the night.

By dawn, there would be nothing left. The most distinguishing factor of the actions taken place was a single solitary building. The town church remained untouched as if the event had never taken place. But looking down upon the streets in front of it were laid the bodies of disfigured and mutilated, some even in artistic forms or within crude humor. A more disturbing sight was the effort that had been made by one soldier to flay several children alive and pose them as if they were playing on a playground. The 8th's Legionnaires were beyond the thought that any of the victims that day would have the basic honor to at the very least bury them, but this was not the case. All who would pass by would see the massacre and remember it, do not house rebellious thoughts.

Later in the day, communications would be restored and media under the threat of suffering the same fate would be told to report the action as that of keeping stability and overall peace within the nation.

Christoslavia most likely has satellites as well, which means he would be able to detect and track satellites. If you have a good eye, you can use a telescope to track a lot of them.

Ya Manticore is right, we'd detect a missing satellite alright, and also to muros point we are indeed a technologically advanced nuclear state so we would kind of panic/jump with joy at the thought of a highly advanced cyber warfare program being open to seizure

So, Ive been working a lot lately so sorry I havent posted. Is there anything super important that has happened, or should I just go from where I left off.

Im reading through the IC right now, but I wanted to check on where things are going as well so I dont cause any problems.

Yeah just read the ic, we're discussing how the war will go right now. Could you tell me where your troops are so I can add to map?
