I forgot to mention this earlier. I plan to enter the conflict by having the Gish terrorist alluded to in my first post escape from my security forces and cross the boundary over to your nation. I'll have my government ask yours if they would like to help hunt down these terrorists, and depending on your permission, my peacekeepers may cross into your space to help you bring them down.

Battlecruiser Tonnage as the Empire recognizes:

10,000,000 kg

Battlecruiser Dimensions as the Empire recognizes:

350 m longest axis of measurement
OR greater than 250,000 cubic meters of volume1

This is meant to measure the tonnage and dimensions without weaponry, crew, or supplies. Essentially, this is what the shipwright would report as the vessel is launched.

(1) In the case of cube-like or designs that are symmetrical upon more than one plane of symmetry

I don't have the tonnage or the volume of any of my ships, only its length from nose to tail. That said, the average cruiser of my nation is 820m long, so... Glorified corvettes it is!

Well, the size of battleships in the Empire are over a kilometer, they have more specialized roles, the battlecruiser is in this case meant for swift fire-support and such things.
It's actually considered by the Imperial Navy that anything below a battleship is a support vessel, not a capital ship. Which is why the Empire has so many small vessels in relation to the battleships, as the battleships are the Empire's actual line vessels in combat. I could go into more detail in telegrams, if you'd like some background on the Empire to fluff up your post.
It's also how the Empire has such a high ship-count.

Though to be honest, you don't need a big ship if your smaller ones can punch a hole in the enemy's hull with gamma rays.

The highest level of absurdity would be the Empire's titan, which is over 20 km.

One note about my ship sizes is that I've been berated on other accounts over 'unrealistically large ship sizes' (from the hard-FTers who believe it's absurd for ships over 100 m to be common), so I toned it down to accommodate and never really up-scaled.

Pffft. They probably don't know about how developed steels, ceramics, and polymers in the future could be. If anything, some FT steels could outperform by a fairly large margin titanium. That said, titanium alloys in FT would also be improved, etc. etc. Not to mention production techniques and advances in industry and robotics as well as the introduction of graphene and carbon nanotubes into construction as it becomes cheaper to fabricate and produce. My point is that there's nothing to actually stop us from making several kilometer long vessels a norm. Anyways, short rant over, let's get down to business.

The apparent absurdity of 820m cruisers asides, I've got only got light cruisers and destroyers which fit into the size range of under 400m (I've taken the liberty to check your factbooks and you've got the 400 meters long Orion-Class Battlecruiser, so I'm assuming that's my maximum). That's not important though. What is important is the fact that plasma makes a pretty terrible kinetic weapon and that's the weapon we use the most extensively, hence why we need larger hulls so... You'll probably have to do the brunt of the actual fighting if we do actually run into a large Gish fleet.

All that aside, am I going to be able to have my peacekeepers enter your territory in my next post or did you want me to wait at the imaginary borders so your overseers can come and pick me up? If you're going to have me wait, I'll just assume that you're leaving me there for half an hour or so just to show who's the boss around here. XD

Hum... I'm not sure what I should do once I'm in your territory. How would you see this operate? Would my fleet tag along one of your larger formations or would they operate independently (with your supervisor fleet attached, of course), tracking down minor targets and making arrests whilst letting you handle the bulk of the Gish terrorists?

I was thinking that we'd be more or less independent from you guys, excluding your supervision fleet. You guys would be tracking down the bulk of their forces whilst I'm handling the strays that may branch off of the main fleet. I'm hoping to somehow have this anti-terrorism operation eventually cross paths with whatever's going on with the Zei'Ari or the Velutaria. Hum... I wonder, in fact, if the Gish as looking to commit any more atrocities in your territories, or if they might 'accidentally' cross into one of the two NPC's territories.

I'd like some info on your monitoring task force, if you can TG me some details about them that'll be really appreciated, thanks!

For me: Naturally, Ima would have to forward the news of the Zei'Ari getting involved with the Gish to the FED government. This would give us something to point at and jot down on the list for.. Uh... Let's just call it 'aggressive negotiations' to 'cease-and-desist' from supplying the Gish with stuff... It's rather obvious what's up here, especially with them being military vessels. That would put us on bad terms with the Zei'Ari and if things end up escalating, we'll probably end up swooping in and glassing a few planets of theirs.

Their industrial base is weak, considering their status as former-slaves, meaning little-to-no infrastructure to use. Technologically speaking, they're backwards and primitive, mostly using re-purposed mining hulls. Their warp drives are really the only strong suit, like I said, they only get up to speed quickly, with a low relative warp speed. Militarily, they have a navy numbering nearly 5700 ships, but many are either too old and being scrapped, or manpower shortages are stopping them from crewing and maintaining them. This is why they're selling to the Gish. They're a weak power, one that's only a power at all because Velutaria is fracturing.

Okay, I'll see what we can do. Most likely, we'll approach a possible war with caution, since they do have a significantly larger population than we do (21.5 times more). If they manage to mobilise even a small percentage of that, we might have some real issues. To tackle a threat of this kind, I imagine we'll have to raise counter-espionage measures. The sooner they catch wind of an invasion, the faster they'll be able to get themselves organised into something which might pose a problem to us. So when we're planning this, we'll be making sure their spies can't get in or out.

Once it does come to action, it'll mostly be a blitzkrieg style attack. The plan will be to smash through their defences as quickly as possible and then glass their population centres before they could strike back. And hopefully, they'll surrender before things escalate because we've taken out a good deal of their population, defence forces and industrial capacity.

Of course, this is all theory. No plan survives contact with the enemy. Would the Terrans be in on striking from the opposite direction? XD
