Vice Admiral James Xanli
SRS Hamel
Vice Admiral Xanli walked into the bridge, he had just been informed on his assignment. They were going to leave their home system and to head to the next closest star system named Raxus 9. He was being reinforced by 4 more Rift Class cruisers, 2 Eldar Classes and 2 Tolk Classes. He had just left his office at the back of the bridge and closed the door behind him. "Vice Admiral on deck! Vice Admiral has the comm!" Barked an Ensign who got the whole attention of the bridge crew who saluted. James returned the salute. He walked over to the comm table where three officers were waiting for him. Two was the pilot and the other was the Staff sergeant and commanding officer of the Marines onboard the ship. They were doing their tasks the pilots were mapping out the course to the star system. The issues with the jump drives was you could say put us here. But that doesn't mean you would drop out there. You could be right on the nail or be short or overshoot it by 500m at the most. So they always would aim 500m behind the safe distance mark.
"Have all Captains reported in and have we shared the course mapping with them Flight Officer?" Asked James as he had stopped at his station at the comm table. There were several people coming and going from the bridge, some went to the elevator and went to another deck to perform their duties. With this new age, weapons or well weapons for soldiers were made on the ship with a printer. All it needed was to get the blueprints from the homeworld and the printer could make it. That made it very easy to supply soldiers with weapons not to mention the assault bots in the case of boarding. All the WI does on the ship had shutters that covered the viewing porta during a combat situation.
"Yes Vice Admiral, I set the map to them and they are awaiting your orders. We will be dropping out above a planet that is being called New Geneva. It is similar to our homeworld and it's going to be the first colony in that system. We drop out there send science teams and probes down while they do that we are to patrol the system." Informed Flight Officer Oman as he brought up a image of the planet taken by a satellite. "So far from what we can tell there isn't any sign of civilizations on the planet, though if other civilizations are even possible. But we have regulations for everything. Vice Admiral, we are receiving a transmission from High Admiral Lagum. Putting it on the viewer now." Informed FL Oman.
"Vice Admiral Xanli, this is a classified briefing. Connect me to your office and we will speak there." Informed the High Admiral as James nodded and gave a nod. Once he was in his office he opened the call on the viewer. "Vice Admiral there has been a complication, a moment has started a civil war with us. Your mission is to stay the same, but once it is complete you are to return to the homeworld and prepare for new assignment, fair winds Vice Admiral." Informed the High Admiral as he ended the call. James stood there this was something he hadn't expected, but it wasn't surprising several were gaining power. He once again opened the door to the bridge and closed it behind him.
"Vice Admiral on the bridge! Admiral has the comm!" Barked the Ensign who had just said that several minutes earlier. It was just protocol and how things were ran, but it did get annoying at times and tiring but it was how things are.
"Prepare to jump, signal the fleet to start to prep." Ordered James as he saw the jump pillars come out of the top of the ship and their blue lights. The other ships followed suit. James put his card into the slot on the comm table. No ship could use the jump drive unless the VO's command card was in. "Let's get going seal the bridge." Ordered James as the doors leaving the bridge shut and he put the card and pushed a button. The crew held onto the nearest object as the two Flight Officers activated the jump drive. The ship jumped and all the crew felt the force of the ship launching forward and all the gs being put on their body.
"Influx in 5...4...3...2..1 influx!" Barked one of the FLs as the ship dropped out once again pushing all the crews bodies forward and if you didn't hold onto something while you dropped out or used the jump drive you could break your neck.
The other FL spoke now, "error 0.004%, basically right on the dot. Good jump, awaiting your orders Admiral."
"Start the mission get the science teams and probes down there and send some Marines with them Staff Sergeant Oman." Ordered James as Oman nodded and left the bridge to hand out his orders.
