North Oregon
Tillamook Cheese Factory
HQ of the 1st Naval Infantry Brigade

"Sir, our forces have fully landed, I have no doubt that we've been spotted so we need to move quickly."

"No, order the first to dig in. The second will push forward and move into ambush positions, they can leave their vehicles behind."

"Very good, sir. What of the MLRS company?"

"Order them and the engineers to set up a firing position by the lighthouse, we need overwatch ahead of our boys."

Northern Pacific Ocean
1st Airborne Corps

"Sir, two hours until we reach Seattle, the ground troops will be moving out soon."

"Good." Ostrowski replied to his aide, "Tell General Crewe we need his men close at hand."

"He knows, sir."

"Good, tell him again, just to make sure that he is aware of his position."

"Sir?"

Ostrowski didn't reply, he gave his famed 'Stare' instead and the soldier buckled. He ran to the large aircraft's radio room to deliver the message.

Tillamook Bay
18th Armoured Corps

XVIII Corps began it's disembarking process ten minutes after the 1st Naval Infantry Brigade had reached its positions. Romulus General Crewe was the first ashore, standing in the open hatch of his command vehicle, four M4 Romulus tanks following him out of the opened HLB. By 11:00 hours the Guards Cuirassier had fully disembarked and the Heavy Landing Boats returned to pick up the officers and men of the other two division and begin landing them.

The Guards Cuirassier, commanded by General Lawrence Vandeleur, began their advance immediately. They headed up the high road from Garibaldi, past Barnesdale and Mohler before stopping for the night at Nahalem and Manzanita. General Vandeleur ordered a battalion of men from the First Brigade to head forward. One Company was to act as an advance guard and to set pickets and the other Company was to head at top speed and reach the Hashirajiman Main Force within an hour.

The divisional AA was put on full alert and the Mechanised Recon was sent out as rear guards and scouts. Content that his flanks were secure, thanks to a river, his careful placing of pickets and the fleet out at sea, General Vandeleur nodded off to sleep in his tent.

99th Ground Attack Squadron part 1, The approach to Tillamook Airfield, Tillamook Oregon
8 of the squadrons 16 A-19's flew in low along the approach to both of the runways of the Tillamook airfields each runway would be targeted by 4 A-19's armed with Durandal runway cratering ordnance. The A-19's came in at a little over 250 feet and just under mach one. The Bomb bays snapped opened and the ejector racks pushed out the Durandals which quickly released a drag chute, and once the weapon reached a 40 degree angle a rocket motor burst into action slamming the durandal through the asphalt and concrete of the runways. the delayed two stage warhead would blow and unlevel the concrete slabs in a way that would ruin a runway or make the repairs take much longer than a simple bomb crater.

99th Ground Attack Squadron part 2, the aproach to Astoria regional airport, Astoria Oregon
the other 8 A-19's of the 99th Ground Attack squadron raced in low and fast on both runways of Astoria regional airport/coastguard air station Astoria in much the same way as those tasked with destroying Tilliamook airfield. the bombs functioned perfectly and their was no opposition, by the end of the night the only 2 runways capable of supporting tactical aircraft of any kind would be destroyed denying the enemy the ability to stage aircraft onshore.

3rd Brigade of the 17th Lancer Division, highway 26 East of the highway 53 interchange
the 3-17th Lancers are the cream of the crop for finnian armor troops, the elite troopers waited patiently in their LY4A2 Wolfhound MBT's, while mother nature poured rain and snow on them. the men and women of St. Patricks own Lancers as the 3-17th is called waited patiently for the storm that should be coming their way once the attacking forces decided which road they would try. Each tank was in a prepared fighting position where just the barrel would be visible and hard cover would be provided for the hull of the tank.

21st Hussarl Division, highway 30 west of Clatskanie, Oregon
The Entire 21st Hussarl division was entrenched and ready for the oncoming storm when ever it would come, the infantry was dismounted and forward of the armored fighting vehicles also dug into prepared fighting positions.

F.S.S. Monitor, Grave Yard of the Pacific on the sea floor 60 feet off of the wreck of F/V Annas Dream
the crew of the Monitor went about their day as they had the past week quietly. letting the assaulting forces hunt for them trusting that the captain had made a good choice in his hiding location.
"Captain our torpedoes failed to sink the carrier but we still have her, maybe we should try missiles" reported the weapons officer
"Very well launch 6 tigershark cruise missiles into her I want that fucking carrier on the sea floor" Ordered Capt. Smith
minutes later 6 tigershark cruise missiles raced the short distance to the carrier

RNS Courage and RNS Spirt
the flight decks were a buzz as the crews worked excitedly to launch all of there fighters to intercept a large force of unidentified aircraft

Bravo and Charlie Flights
'Charlie-one we have a large unidentified contact at our 3o'clock range 95miles" radioed Bravo-one
"Charlie Flight arm up your aim-158s" ordered charlie-one
"Brovo Flight arm up your aim-158s" ordered brovo-one

as bravo and charlie flights closed to within 80miles of the enemy force each plane fired four AIM-158 scorpion long range a2a missiles

( each flight has ten aircraft)

over southern Washington

"pheonix 1-1 you have 5 contacts on the river between Astoria and Svensen" came the call from the JSTARS ground combat conroller
pheonix flight is a flight of 3 A-19 attack planes each carrying 4 brimstone anti-tank missiles and 8 small diameter bombs.

"roger that JSTARS Pheonix flight is inbound"

Pheonix 1-1 Banshee Flight is also inbound on the river contacts
Banshee flight is a flight of 3 A-19 attack planes each carrying 4 brimstone anti-tank missiles and 8 small diameter bombs.

as Pheonix 1-1 rolled in on his target he could see 5 large warships steaming up the river. he locked his Brimstone missiles onto the lead ship and fired 4 of them. his wingmen rolled in right behind him and did the same thing to the fifth and second ships in line. after pheonix flight came off target Banshee flight rolled in on the ships firing all of their missiles.

Until I have clearance on a few things, I will be ignoring Nahm's Carrier.

Also very short, post, just to show that I am still actively posting. I'll get a longer one out tomorrow.

Royal Guards Cuirassier
1st Brigade, 1. Tank Battalion
1st Company

Major Devonshire's Company of M4 Romulus Main Battle Tanks sped along the 101 Highway that ran along the Oregon Pacific Coast. His command tank positioned itself two tanks back in the column, allowing himself and his crew a certain level of safety in case of an ambush. The company had been ordered by Colonel Vandeleur to link up with the Hashirajiman Main Force and act as Close Armoured Liaisons. Their job would be to support Hashirajaman troops and act as advisors to coordinate Vionna-Frankenlischian and Hashirajaman planning.

"Captain..." Admiral Longstaff ordered, "Commence bombardment of enemy fortifications around Portland. I want enemy AA targeted specifically."

"Yes, sir" Captain Miller replied, "Anything else, sir?"

"Yes, order the carriers to rearm their Strikers with SEAD Missiles, and keep Electro-Optical Missiles on standby as the next run is going to need them. I want attack runs with those SEAD missiles, three runs in total, one after the others. The planes need to get as close to their targets as is safe to allow for the highest accuracy possible."

"Yes, sir." Miller left to deliver the orders.

[Location: West of Astoria Regional Airport, OR]

COL Konagai, Field Commander 3rd Div, watched as the airport across the road was shelled to an almost flattened ruin. "A pity. Signals, what does command have for us?"

"Ma'am, move on, and head for Astoria. Avoid detection by enemy forces."

"Very well. Clear up the camo nettings and get the convoy back on the road."

"Understood, ma'am. Also, Yellow Force are linking up with us. One armour company."

Konogai nodded absently, watching as her forces prepared to move off.

[Location: HS Yuubari, Colorado River, OR]

Busy dodging the artillery shells while keeping a close eye for the treacherous river bed, the sole destroyer escort barely had time to react when its radar picked up the incoming enemy missiles. CIWS barked out up and down the Colorado river as the vessels of DesDiv 35 sought to neutralise the inbound threat. While most of the division's members survived with but their paint-job scratched...

The smallest surface vessel of the Hashirajima fleet in this operation listed to the side, risking kneeling over altogether, as the Brimstone missile courtesy of Pheonix 1-1, Nahmeighn Banshee Flight took out the back half of the her superstructure. Her luck *did* hold... in the sense that the hull merely sprung a dozen tiny leaks from shrapnel. In the bridge, her CO yelled out as he held onto a nearby railing.

"- THE BLOODY F*CK?!"

"Back half of the ship's gone, sir! Estimated casualty half!"

"...kuso. How about the division?"

"Scratches all round... we can't raise Sawayuki."

"... get the division out of this kami-damned deathtrap! We ain't doing jack sh*t here!"

"Yes sir."

The members of DesDiv 35 rounded the earliest possible route and made beeline for the river mouth, as the scorched and overturned hull of Sawayuki sunk silently behind them... until it hit a shallow sandbar beneath the surface and merely remained stuck there.

[Location: Svensen, OR]

COL Kobayashi, Field Commander 1st Div, nodded as his signals commander rattled off the latest message.

"So, Yellow is coming up to join us?"

"Just a tank company, sir. 'Close Armoured Laisons', they called it."

"Hmmm... very well. ETA of 3rd Div on Astoria?"

"As scheduled, sir. They're picking up the pace after the airport bombardment."

"Very well. Have the 32nd and 33rd begin advancing. Also.... you know what, tell the arty scouts to keep an eye on McGowan and the surroundings. I like to make sure our ... friends up north are where they are. Pull back if they feel exposure is imminent otherwise."

"Yes sir."

[Location: HS Kinzo, off the Pacific Coast, OR]

Just as the crew of Kinzo took a moment to steady themselves after the lucky miss, Radar suddenly yelled out "MISSILES INCOMING! Six counted, they're too close for effective interception!"

The XO hurried issued orders to the weapons officers. "Take them down at all cost! Get damecon on high alert, and what in the name of Amaterasu is ASW doing?! Get-"

Watching the radar readout projected on the main ops screen, VADM Anzai called out over his XO. "ALL HANDS! BRACE FOR IMPACT!" Everyone paused for a moment as the order registered, before a frenzy broke lose as officers and men hurriedly headed for steady handholds.

And not a moment too soon, the missiles made impact. Explosions tore through the carrier, rocking the massive vessel violently.

"SITREP!" XO yelled across the commotion in the ops room.

"Sir! Two missiles intercepted by CIWS. Fire reports are streaming in from various locations. Two on deck, one in engineering, one in hanger 3 which is empty... Elevator 1 is damaged, sir. The fire there is out, and repairs are underway." Comms replied, frowning.

"Get the fires down, and I want the elevator fixed as soon as possible. Estimated time for repair?" The XO asked.

"At least a day, sir. The damage is still unclear."

"Very well. Is CAP due for changeover?" Shaking his head, the XO looked over at his ever-stoic commanding officer briefly.

"Yes sir." yelled out the Air Officer. "Deck fires might be an issue though."

"Get the deck fires out ASAP. Also..." Not finding anything else to continue with at the moment, the XO turned once more towards Anzai. Who merely raised an eyebrow in reply before clearing his throat.

"Pull the BARPAT away from the coast, keep Astoria in range of our planes but just. ASW is to sweep the area where the missiles came from. We should have picked up the submarine during our approach, this mistake shall be rectified immediately."

A chorus of 'yes, sir's sounded out before Comms called out. "Sir, DesDiv 35 is pulling out from Colorado River. Yuubari was severely damaged by enemy bombardment, Sawayuki lost contact presumably sunk."

"Understood." Anzai stated calmly. "Have them link up with Haruna for ASW ops. Yuubari is to pull out of this whole operation."

"Yes sir."

[Location: South of Astoria Regional Airport, OR]

MAJ Adagaki of the 3rd Division Artillery watched as the VF tank company advanced ahead to join up with the rest of her division's forces, before sighing.

Glancing ahead at the airport, she pulled up her binoculars and proceded to idly engage in her favourite pastime of the last three hours. Artillery watching.

'Three.... two..... one..... And-' *THUMP-BOOM!* Dirt flew into the air in her view-range, signalling yet another hit by the enemy artillery and eliciting a dry chuckle from the major. 'And that's an EIGHT! THE CROWD GOES WILD-' her whimsical thought was cut off when a radio crackled faintly.

It was followed by her radioman shouting. "We've got affirmative!"

Oh... lovely.

"Very well. Listen up, men! Our dear friends have been gifting us with such wonderful pyrotechnics, it would be remiss not to return the favour. HOWITZERS! Load thermobarics! Your target is Knappton, let the 1st see the glory of our work!

"ALL UNITS, COMMENCE BOMBARDMENT!"

At that, a rhythm is struck up by the Type 99 self-propelled howitzers, a symphony of war passed on from times long past.

And Knappton burned.

1st Scout Brigade of the 51st Lancer Division "the Patriots" west of Tillamook on Oregon Highway 6
12 LY10 Scout tracks rolled down the highway "Keep your eyes open for IR signal lights, our infantry support should be around here somewhere" Ordered Major Brady
"Sir, in the woods by that big Fir tree" Sgt. Edleman reported
"Halt the column, I'll be right back" Ordered Maj. Brady as he exited his LY10 Scout track "Cpt. Hightower I presume?"
A tall black man stepped forward his MK16 assault rifle hanging across his chest, his dark face further darkened by the camouflage paint. "Thats me Sir, Cpt. Hightower of the 101st airborne me and my boys are going to walk your big ol'cans down there into Tillamook and raise some hell among those Vionninian boys" Replied the larger Paratrooper
"Sounds good Lieutenant, just keep the fucking infantry off my tanks and we will surprise these assholes, we will be on secure channel 121 any questions?" Replied Maj. Brady
"Nope, my boys are ready and raring to go, we just got back from roasting the Dirty Birds down at Ft. Benning in the Confederacy, trust me when I tell you these boys are the sharpest they've been in years." Explained Cpt. Hightower
"Very well lead the way" Maj. Brady replied
the 12 LY10's and 72 paratroopers moved down Highway 6 the paras taking their time to check among the trees, the rain and night made it awkward at times even with the advanced night vision systems included in the Finnian Infantry combat System, the Para's could send target data to the LY10's and the LY10's would do the same as would their small UAV's each LY10 of the Finnian Army is equipped with a small vertical take off UAV to increase the range and capability of the scout track these are equipped with FLIR, Night-vision and normal color cameras with a flight time of an hour and a half before they would have to return to their scout track and charge wirelessly.
"Sir, we have what looks like a Vionna emplacement ahead of us to the south of the highway, looks like infantry" Reported Sgt. Hogan commander of Patriot 1-5
"Roger, we will move into position to engage, suggest you load anti-personnel weapons" Replied Capt. Hightower
"Copy that, Patriots, load bee hive shells!" Ordered Maj. Brady Bee Hive shells are a modern Grapeshot replacement and turn the 140mm Main gun of any Finnian tank into a shotgun.
"Preparing to engage, Shit they see us.... Engage engage!" Ordered Capt. Hightower
and with that the night erupted into chaos, 72 rifles or machine guns of the paratroopers and 10 LY10 Bloodhound scout tracks poured fire into the Vionnian position.

8th Artillery Brigade 51st Lancer Division, Near Forest Grove Oregon
"Sir the Pods have been switched, we are ready for that Priority Fire mission" reported SSGT. Allen
"Very well Down load the latest targeting Data and Launch the strike." Ordered Capt. Gostkowski "Targeting Down load is in, launch in 3...... 2...... 1...... Fire..... Fire....."
and with that 8 LY300 'Manticore' Multiple Rocket System's launched a total of 112 Seahag cruise missiles 56 Mk2 and 56 MK 5 missiles raced for the HMNS Andy Flag ship of the Vionnian fleet

PDX, Finnian Airforce HQ, Portland Oregon
"Initiate Scatter plan 2 we need to minimize our exposure and spread out our aircraft" Ordered Gen. Yeager
and with that the support staff and aircraft not already airborne would transfer to additional airfields through out the greater Portland area and as far south as Eugene Oregon.

Will respond to the missile attacks next post.

Royal Guards Cuirassier
1st Brigade, 1. Tank Battalion
1st Company

The tanks of A Company finally reached the Hashirajiman lines at dawn, Major Devonshire went ahead in his command tank to meet with the Hashirajiman commander.
The rest of his company hung back and fitted their amphibious skirts, an operation that would take an hour or so.

Positions East of Tillamook
1st Naval Infantry Brigade
2nd Regiment, 2nd Battalion

The trees ahead of the Battalion erupted into a fusillade of gunfire as enemy forces made a push against the entrenched positions of the Naval Infantry. The heavily outnumbered Finnian forces made no effort to move forward, nor did the Vionnan troops to make a counterattack, the open ground was death's domain.

Major Padraig Parry, the unit's commanding officer, sat pinned in his slit trench next to a wounded radio operator. The machine gun fire above made it impossible for either to stand. There was a deafening whistle and a cluster of screams as some Finnian grape fired from a light tank shredded the human contents of the slit trench next to Parry's. He crawled over to the stricken radioman and asked him.

"Where are you hit?"

"My shoulder, sir, it isn't too bad. I can still move my arm, but it hurts, sir."

"It's all right lad, I'll get a medic to you. Can you get a message up the chain first?"

"Yes sir, what message?"

"We need immediate artillery support if we have any and vehicular support to boot."

"Yes, sir," the radioman dialled into 1st Naval Infantry Brigade Headquarters and waited patiently for the frequency to register. "Bishop, this is the Second Regiment, Bravo Battalion. Do you copy?"

"We copy, Bravo, five by five. Send your message."

"We need immediate artillery support of any kind, coordinates are 45°27'54.2"N 123°45'22.6"W."

"Copy, Bravo, Brigade Rocket Artillery is at your disposal. Anything else?"

"Yes Bishop, Major Parry requests vehicular support."

"Copy, an advanced company of the 5th Royal Armoured Division is moving in to support you. ETA five minutes."

"Thanks, Bishop, out."

The radioman groaned as he put down the radio, Parry pulled him up to rest on the side of the trench. Above gunfire still rippled and the enemy tanks were merciless in their barrage, with no anti-tank weapons to hand the defenders were helpless. Parry called out for a medic, "Stretcher bearer!" A pair of unarmed men, marked with red crosses made their way to the slit trench with a stretcher and hauled the radio operator up onto the stretcher and hurried him away. The red crosses on their uniforms gave some confidence that they wouldn't be shot at, but in the chaos, there was no telling what could happen.

The building 200m ahead from the trenches had taken little fire, despite putting up the fiercest of resistance. It was garrisoned by a brave platoon from A Company. Major Parry radioed ahead with the wounded operator's discarded radio.

"Alpha, One. I'll have artillery coming in soon, is there a basement in your building?"

"Yes, sir, and underground storeroom."

"Get your chaps down there. I'm calling in rockets now." Parry turned the frequency to that of the Brigade's MLRS Company. "Streaker, this is Bravo-Two, has HQ given you to us?"

"They have, Bravo, we've got six pieces ready to go on your order."

"What load, Streaker?"

"Napalm, Bravo, I think the enemy are still in the woods."

"They are, we need fire on them as soon as possible. You have the coordinates."

"We do, Bravo, firing in ninety seconds."

Parry got up onto his feet, trying to keep in cover as much as possible, he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted to his men. "Get down, artillery coming in!"
The message soon made its way up the line and as the Battalion took cover in its slit trenches, the screeching rockets sped overhead towards their targets. Behind the lines, the advanced Tank Company sped along the road before fanning out and taking positions behind the Battalion's trenches. The rockets slammed into the ground and sprayed flame up the trees and vegetation, the continued barrage smashed the treeline with brutal efficiency. A cheer rose from the trenches but not a man stepped out of the defences.

Major General Vandeleur

Dawn appeared, fresh and rosy fingered, and Major General Lawrence Vandeleur was awoken by his batman and served breakfast. After the quick meal, he was approached by his Aide-de-Camp.
"Sir, we've new orders." The officer reported, "We are to make all haste to reach the Hashirajiman Main Force. I've made the calculations and we should be there in an hour, bearing in mind that we shall have to avoid the airport and Warrenton. The Hashirajimans report that they are still being shelled by the Nahmeighnians across the river."

"Righto, Wickes, order the tanks to begin moving immediately and ready my staff car."

"It's already prepped, sir. So are the rest of the Division's vehicles."

"Very good, I'll get down there immediately, order the chaps in logistics to clean up here."

"I have done so, sir."

Major General Vandeleur nodded and, escorted by Wickes and his Batman, made his way to the waiting armoured staff car. The Division, headed by the tanks, moved off with haste towards Astoria and their Hashirajiman allies.

[Location: Svensen, OR]

COL Kobayashi, Field Commander 1st Div, watched as the opposite bank once more erupted into a thermobaric bonfire.

'And here's the signal.'

Looking at his comms officer, he nodded. "Alert the ampibious strike team."

[Location: Astoria, OR]

COL Konagai, Field Commander 3rd Div, was just sitting down for a mug of coffee in her new forward operation post. Her artillery detachment performed splendidly, and now it's time for the rest of the pieces to fall into play. Just as she took a sip, the comms station beside her crackled. She glanced over, and the comms officer nodded. "It's the 1st. We have the signal."

"Good. Tell Major Pyromaniac to pull out of her position and advance along the 101. Also, inform the infantry commanders. It's time."

As the radio crackled once more, a runner headed for the infantry commanders of the two divisions. Before long, a trail of smoke from the infantry fighting vehicles was all that's left.

Glancing up as she hears the tent flap open, Konagai took in the foreign uniform of the man before her. "Ah... You must be Major Devonshire, I assume."

"Yes ma'am, Royal Guards Cuirassier 1st Brigade, 1st Tank Battalion. My company was ordered to support your operations here."

Nodding, the colonel absently shook the man's hand. "Colonel Konagai, 3rd Division field command. My infantry are just leaving, actually. If it suits your tanks, perhaps you'll like to join the armour elements in the second wave?"

"Gladly, Colonel. My men are putting up screens as we speak."

"Great. We leave in 30 minutes, then-"

"Ma'am!" Right then, the Comms officer yelled. "Our arty is under attack!"

[Location: South of Astoria Regional Airport, OR]

The enemy's reply, in the form of an ATACMS barrage, arrived just as the howitzers were preparing to move off. In an instant, the last few pieces in the convoy went up in flames, shrapnel filling the air.

MAJ Adagaki snapped her head back, watching the carnage. "Well... that's unexpected..." Ducking down into the cabin, she peered over her vehicle radio oeprator's station. "What's the losses from that?"

"Accounting for it, ma'am.... 11 pieces hit. One Type 1, 10 Type 99s. Six Type 99s mission-killed. The Type 1 needs a new paint job, and three of the remaining 99s need repairs to their guns.

"Also, HQ is pressing us to keep up."

"Oh well, I suppose we can reply to this barrage later. Get the convoy moving. The enemy's next wave will hit dirt, and only dirt. We'll worry about repairs at our destination."

[Location: Svensen, OR]

COL Kobayashi glanced at his watch. '... and ten seconds.'

Catching the artillery unit commander's eye, he nods. "Commence volley. Then divert to Knappton."

Dulled *thumps* followed by whistles, and a rain of thermobarics fell upon McGowan, raising the curtains to the amphibious assault that would follow suit...

[Location: HS Haruna, near Columbia river mouth]

"How's the bat heli squadron?" Asked the sonar operator on board of the helicopter destroyer, sipping from his mug of not-coffee. To be honest, no one knows what it is, how he made it, or what's in it. Coffee machines are NOT supposed to be able to make *that* sound.

"Nope, not a... wait. 353-3 just radioed in. A meep, nothing definitive, but definitely not nothing."

"Alright, we're still clear though." Turning backwards, Sonar looked at his captain.

"Tell the others to close in, and ready ASROCs."

HMNS Andy, Flagship
Command Center, Bridge
1st Carrier Fleet, White

"Sir!" An aide came to Admiral Longstaff, "We are reading a massive missile attack inbound... I have the numbers here, sir."

Admiral Longstaff glanced at the piece of paper and his eyes widened. "How long until impact?"

"We're not sure, we only know that the missiles are targeting us as well as the fleet's carriers."

"I see..." Longstaff turned to the other officers in the command room, "Ladies and Gentlemen, gather around, please!"

They did as ordered, the group of officers crowded around Longstaff, waiting for him to direct them. "We are facing a missile attack on an unbelievable scale, however, our heavy armour should protect us. I want the anti-missile and anti-air capabilities of the entire fleet directed towards defending the carriers."

There was grumbling and a few gasps but nobody questioned Longstaff's orders, they simply trudged away to deliver the messages.
Longstaff, on the other hand, made his way hastily to the ship's PA system. He lifted the hardened plastic handset to his mouth and spoke.

"Officers, Marines, Sailors and Aircrew of the HMNS Andy... We are facing a massive air attack on a scale unheard of before, the fleet is facing a bombardment of over four hundred missiles from both Finnian and Nahmeighnian planes. Due to the scale of the munitions that are facing us, survival cannot be guaranteed for every man aboard. All men are responsible for the survival of themselves, of their fellows and above all... Of this ship. That is all."

1st Carrier Fleet (w)

The Nahmeighnian planes closed to 170 miles, far out of range for any kind of armed countermeasures, but it gave the fleet ahead time to launch their helicopters. Admiral Longstaff ordered the launching of all planes not currently in their hangers, this amounted to 42 Wasp Air Superiority Fighters and 42 Striker Mk4s. The planes made their way, with all speed towards Astoria, where they would find some use.

The six mighty turrets aboard the HMNS Andy began to slowly swivel towards the incoming Nahmeighnian missiles and, just as the missiles reached 82km away, they fired. The massive 810mm shells travelled through the air at unmeasurable speeds and burst into flame mid-air, forming a wall of fire and shrapnel that detonated the explosives carried by the missiles. The massive pyrotechnic display went on for mere seconds but for the men of the 1st Carrier Fleet it lasted hours, they knew that the arrival of those missiles could spell their deaths. However, despite the valiant attempt, some missiles broke through unscathed to be met by Anti-Ballistic Missiles of the fleet's many ships. At 42km, the missiles clashed in air, an intense fight which once again lasted a few seconds. The ever defiant cruise missiles held their course and carried on towards the carriers of the Vionna-Frankenlischian fleet. The fleet still had one last trick up its sleeve, at 12km the Defender Air Defence systems opened up with their Acheron Air Defence Missiles, downing more cruise missiles. The ranks of the enemy missiles were severely thinned by the time they had reached the fleet's CIWS range. The radar guided autocannons blazed trails of lead across the sky, desperately picking off the remnants of the missile attack. Alas, it was not to be, the sailors looked on is desperation as one lone missile broke through the wall of bullets and sped its way towards HMNS Condor.

At the last moment in some kind of noble self-sacrifice the helicopter of HMNS Kendrick, a Hadrian class Frigate, flew up to block the missile's path. The missile smacked directly into the helicopter, doing untold damage to the fragile rotorcraft's frame. The doomed vehicle crashed down, covered in a thick black cloud of smoke. The burning wreck spun in the air for a few seconds before crashing down onto the deck of HMNS Condor. The carriers were saved...

As this immense display was taking place, the Finnian missiles were speeding towards their target: HMNS Andy. The fleet turned it's depleted missile defence systems towards the Finnian missile spam attack. The HMNS Andy's great guns managed to fire a ragged un-aimed half salvo and the surrounding ships fired the remainder of their anti-ballistic arsenals. The resulting blast and missile dogfight led to many casualties among the incoming wave of Seahags and other missiles. However, after such a narrow escape, the fleet was not destined to survive two such attacks intact...

72 Missiles slammed into HMNS Andy, the mighty Superdreadnought flagship of the fleet, there was a loud explosion followed by the screaming of twisting metal and wounded men.

Romulus Admiral Alfred Longstaff lifted himself off of the carpeted floor of the HMNS Andy's bridge. He clutched a bleeding wound on his head where he had hit his head on a panel as he fell. Around him, his fellow officers were getting up from the floor too.

"Damage report!" Longstaff shouted, both in rage and desperation, "And a casualty report too, as soon as possible."

His officers saluted and went off to contact the different sections of the ship. The compressed steel screens that covered the bridge's windows raised and Longstaff walked over to one of the front facing windows. The area below was clouded in thick black smoke, to the point that the damage caused by the missile impacts could not be seen.

"Sir!" An officer ran in, "I have the casualty reports, sir."

"Alright, let me hear it."

"Sir... Are you sure?"

"Of course, I'm sure!" Longstaff shouted this time.

"Sir... We have a reported 69 dead, and 301 wounded. As well as 400 unaccounted for."

"Good god..." Longstaff turned, "You are dismissed, Midshipman, get some sleep... Or try and help your comrades further down."

"Sir." The man saluted and left.

Another officer, this time clad in the uniform of a Post Captain, jogged through the door, his face white. "Sir." He reported, "I have the damage report here, sir."

"Go on then," Longstaff said, his countenance one of defeat, "Let's hear it."

"Sir, we have reports of major fires all over the front quarter of the ship, some areas of our superstructure have taken hits, at least 60% of our VLS cells are out of action and..." He paused and gulped.

"What is it?"

"Sir... Our firing directors are down, we have no hope of hitting anything accurately."

Longstaff sat down on a chair and buried his face in his hands. "Captain Miller... You are dismissed."

sorry guys i might need to edit this its late and their might be mistakes but wanted to get a post up long day than framily time damn rl responsibilities

1st Scout Brigade of the 51st Lancer Division "the Patriots" and paratroopers of the 101st Airborne division west of Tillamook on Oregon Highway 6 Engaged with Vionna Naval infantry
"Shit thats not a patrol" Announced Maj. Brady before getting on the Divisional radio network "General, we need support now! Vionna forces are in force west of tillamook, I have infantry dug in"
"Copy, I will dispatch the rest of the scout brigade as well as our ready helicopters" Replied Gen. Bellicheck over the radio, "with draw and regroup as need. I will work on further reinforcements"
"Copy" Replied Major Brady before "Men this is a cluster fuck, pull back infantry disengage we will cover you...."
Maj. Bradys Call over the radio was cut short by the arrival of the vionnian rockets the trees provided a bit of cover detonating the shells early and absorbing the largest goblets of napalm, it wasn't enough the paratroopers took the worst of it drops of burning sticky napalm dropped down on the men as if the rain was hellfire to. it was the rain that would be their savior the trees didn't burst into fire, the men soaking wet didn't turn into human torches. Capt. Hightower had a nasty burn on his left arm but staid with his men
"What sort of asshole uses napalm in this wet?" he wondered aloud through the clenched teeth of pain. in all the 101st suffered 18 casualties mainly from the enemy infantry and 13 additional wounded beyond combat ability and would be out of the fight, the LY10's suffered no losses but 2 of the UAV's where melted or damaged beyond repair and another tank would need to replace a connector on the fire control computer

96th attack squadron, approaching Tillamook from the south
The 8 A-12A's of the 96th attack squadron had been airborne for nearly an hour as part of the cloud of tactical aircraft being maintained as a show of force now that the attacking force had landed freshly tanked they'd flown nap of the earth over the coast range, than just northeast of Lincoln City they turned north their target the newly unmasked rocket artillery of the Vionna-Frankenlischian army, those rockets easily tracked by AWAC's and Jstars aircraft giving the A-12s a target of opportunity for the A-12s 8 CBU-100 Cluster Bombs. the A-12's flew in low just above the tree tops jinking to avoid a particularly tall tree, the A-12 pilots trusting their stealth aircraft and low level flight profile to get them to the target and home again. 6 MRLS sat in the parking lot of the Cape Meares Light a inactive light house now a tourist site with AA systems in the parking lot and right next to the light house itself. the A-12s spread out on their final approach pulled up and their bomb bays flew open, ejecting their deadly bombs as quickly as possible. Each bomb broke open and spread 247 Mk 118 Mod 1 bomblets each blanketing the entire area with the softball sized explosives. the pilots turned east as soon as they released their weapons........

51st Lancer Division HQ, Pacific University Library, Forest Grove, Oregon
"God Damn it! my Boys need fucking support" Yelled Gen. Billacheck "I need air support now!"
the other side of the conversation was unheard by the generals staff but by his smirk it was obvious he had gotten the air support he craved
"Tommy Boy, I have the support you requested a FAC will be arriving with your reinforcements and a squadron of A-19s and our helicopters has been assigned to your next attack. I want that positioned swept clean of Vionna-Frankenlischian troops once cleared we will move the entire division forward and hold that ground." Gen. Billacheck reported to Major Brady
it took 2 hours for Major Bradys reinforcements to arrive but arrive they did 24 more LY10 bloodhounds and 300 paratroopers who had been gathering and digging in with the 51st lancer divisions .

task force 51-1, Happy Hollow River retreat, Hwy 6 east of Tillamook Oregon
"Major, we are ready to move out, our wounded have passed through the lines our reinforcements are briefed, and the men and tanks have reloaded to full loads." Reported Sgt. Edleman
"Very good sergeant," replied Brady before addressing the paratrooper leaning back against the majors tank "still sure about not wanting to go back?"
"Sir, these Vionna assholes used fucking napalm on me and my boys I want to watch them burn, well maybe steam like we did... besides who's going to call in that artillery for ya if Im gone" asked Cpt. hightower
"Very well you move into your spotting position and be ready with that surprise" ordered Major Brady

artillery Brigade of the 101st airborne Division, Tillison Ridge road near hughey creek
25 105mm light towed howitzers of the 101st Divisions Artillery brigade had been preparing their firing positions since the Vionna-Frankenlischian forces had landed and now they had a target their guns quickly began firing on the Vionna-Frankenlischian troops dug in east of tillamook in support of the advancing task force 51-1

Task Force 51-1
The Artillery was the signal Major Brady was waiting for apparently Capt. Hightower had found a hide and was calling in the artillery
"Alright boys lets go!" ordered Major brady
the 34 LY10 bloodhounds raced down the highway and approached the entrenchments from the North firing Beehive rounds and using their coaxial weapons into the Vionna-Frankenlischian troops
"Sir Reports of enemy vehicles east bound towards us!" Reported Sgt. Edleman
"Be aware enemy armor has arrived behind the infantrys position" announced Major Brady
The infantry had moved towards the tree line and had begun to dig in while also engaging the enemy

F.S.S. Monitor, Grave Yard of the Pacific on the sea floor 60 feet off of the wreck of F/V Annas Dream
The crew of Monitor was unaware they where being hunted, they suspected they where being hunted after all of the attacks on the enemy carrier. The crew trusted the captains judgement and listened to his orders the hatches where tied open, the cooks where serving cold food or food that didnt require noise prepping, the crew moved around in special shoes with felt soles and no maintance was performed with out a thick rubber mat under the work in case of dropped tools, the only down fall is eventually the boat would need to surface but that was still awhile away

[Location: McGowan, Northern shore of Columbia River, OR]

It was a scene of massacre, as if Izanami herself decided to lead the denizens of the underworld, the dead and the damned, in her personal quest from time immemorial to exactly her pound of flesh upon the living.

The first wave of infantry, aboard their rigid-hulled inflatable boats, met the firepower of the enemy IFVs and mortars head on, and casualty numbers quickly rose as soft flesh was cut down by cold metal and searing explosives alike.

The others at the back were not spared, either. An airstrike from the Nahmeighn forces saw both the 11th and 33rd armoured brigades take on casualties. A number were destroyed outright by enemy munitions, though the lucky ones were hurriedly towed back for repairs...

====

PTE Kazuma Satou, 314th Amphibious Infantry, idly noted that the Hashirajima Army's newest rifle did in fact perform as advertised. Shortly before this moment, his fireteam's vessel had capsised from a near-miss from enemy mortar, which resulted in the occupants being dumped into the Columbia River. In the middle of winter. Thankfully, they were almost reaching the target shoreline, and the short distance was quickly covered by a desperate flailing of limbs that falls "just" short of a proper doggy paddle.

Now, the private finds himself waist-deep in muddy water, said water having poured out of his rifle's barrel earlier as he stood up, and it was still firing. Together with the rest of his squad, he took turns trudging forth and laying down covering fire. Though when faced with enemy IFVs, even disarrayed as those were by the artillery barrage earlier, covering fire is just kinda ineffective. Who knows, maybe it's because those things WERE MEANT TO BE BULLETPROOF???

Just as he was about to yell out in despair, a round from the enemy IFV's machine gun SOMEHOW found its way to Kazuma. The high velocity round went on unimpeded to strike the water surface behind him, having went right through his shoulder as if it wasn't there. Gasping in pain, the private fell face-first into the river, akin to the corpses that now adorn the river like morbidly red lotuses.

====

CPT Gunha Sogiita looked on ahead at the bloodbath before him, as the IFVs under his command approached the coastline. Once in firing range, the vehicles quickly brought their main armament - 30 mm Bushmaster II cannons - to bear, tearing into their enemy counterparts. Some losses amongst the vehicles were had, but that was expected and the troops within quickly dismounted to press on with the assault.

'This wouldn't do. These floaters have been bogged down for way too long, what morale do they have left in service to our nation. No... they must be rallied once more. The enemy will feel the full extent of our righteous fury...'

Standing up through the porthole of his command vehicle, he jumped off in one swift leap that had him standing adjacent to the roaring main armament, radio receiver in hand and on broadcast...

"EVERYONE! We are the THIRD DIVISION! Our lineage hails from the the Solomon Campaign! Our forefathers stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the glorious 7th Sasebo of the Tarawa Last Stand! REMEMBER WHO WE ARE! TENNO HEIKA, BANZAI!"

A change swept through the ranks. Officers and men alike glanced at each other, bloodied from their wounds and from dead comrades, and steeled their gaze as they looked on at the enemy. Then, a strangled shout rang out from the frontlines. "B-BANZAAAAI!" It appears the unlucky private survived.

"BANZAI!!!!" This call to arms, this awakening of an ancient national spirit, sounded across the river, and the men 3rd Division infantry surged forward guns blazing...

[Location: Astoria, OR]

From a appropriated building tall enough to see the river, COL Konagai watched as the McGowan assault force was slowly taken apart. Pops sounded off as the Type 87 anti-aircraft guns positioned around the small town fired at the enemy planes overhead. Glancing slightly to the side to check that her comms officer was nearby, she cleared her throat. "If you don't mind, tell the 1st to direct their artillery at-"

A crackle from the radio stopped her midsentence. "GREETINGS, COLONEL! The glorious 3rd Artillery is in position! What doth thou command?"

Raising an eyebrow, the colonel shook her head sightly at her subordinate's antics. MAJ Adagaki was a well-known reprobate since their officer cadet school days, dreaded by the instructors for her antics and loved by her coursemates for the same. Clicking the send button, Konagai sighed "This is Konagai. We're on duty, you realise? I'll get Mapping to send you the coordinates to a few mortar placements that's troubling the assault forces, try to aim north. Over."

"We hear and obey, Colonel. Keep the binoculars handy. Adagaki, out."

'This should help some...'

[Location: Miles Crossing, OR]

From the roof of her own Type 99's cabin, MAJ Adagaki eyed the pieces currently being repaired for a moment before directing her attention to the rest of her men. "We've got the coordinates?" she asked her radio operator, peering down into the roof hatch.

"Aye, ma'am. Transmitting to the rest." he nodded, before handing her the receiver.

Clicking the send button, Adagaki cleared her throat. "Everyone! Our brothers and sisters-in-arms, up north in the frigid waters, beseech us for aid! AND WE SHALL ANSWER! For blessed is he who, in the name of the charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.

"And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. GO FORTH! LAY YOUR VENGENCE UPON THE ENEMY! HOWITZERS, FIRE!"

In swift, choreographed movement, the Type 99s of the 3rd Division rang out once more, singing the song that ends the Earth.

[Location: Svensen, OR]

"Sir, the 3rd have begun shelling McGowan's mortar placements."

COL Kobayashi nodded, glancing up from his map. "Good, tell the artillery to switch over to Knappton. Keep it suppressed."

"Yes sir!"

[Location: HS Haruna, off Columbia River mouth]

"Sir, the ASW task force is in formation."

The captain of HS Haruna nodded, checking with the radar to confirm that everything is in place. "Has the grid coordinates been disseminated?"

Astoria, Oregon
Close Armoured Liasons

Major Devonshire burst into the room occupied by Colonel Kongai, he walked elegantly yet angrily and worriedly enough to see that there was something wrong. He came to an abrupt stop in front of Colonel Kongai and gave a sharp salute.

"Mam," He said respectfully, "I hope you don't expect me to send my lads into that... Do you? I've already lost four tanks to the enemy air attack and god knows how many of my men are wounded out there... Amphibious attacks aren't really our forte... I request permission for my company to be excused from this operation, I think it would be best to wait for General Vandeleur to arrive."

101 Highway, 6.8 miles from Astoria
Royal Cuirassier Guards Armoured Division

"Sir!" Captain Parker, the commander of an Anti-Air platoon, came forward to General Vandeleur in a jeep. "Sir! Detection reports an enemy air attack coming in now, sir!"

"Very good, order the tanks to fan out, are the planes in range of our missiles?"

"Yes, sir, they've just entered Harbinger range now."

"Very good, give them hell, Parker. Make sure to send the Quillions up if you need more firepower."

"Yes, sir!"

As the Nahmeighnian planes reached within 85km range of the division, the Harbinger Heavy AA systems burst forth their missiles. 24 Harbinger missiles sped towards their target at Mach 5 speed, the Quillion AA systems moved to the head of the column at high speed and began waiting for the enemy planes to get into their range.

Eastern Pacific Ocean

84 Planes, those escaped from the failed missile attack on the 1st Carrier Fleet's three King James Class Nuclear Supercarriers, swooped through the air like great metal birds. The group leader, Colonel Christopher Davenport, piloted his Wasp Mk I with remarkable skill, a veteran of many recon runs and interceptor sorties. He was even lucky enough to survive being shot down over Zaea with his chief aide, Captain Owen Heavensby.
Now the two were frantically flying north, to Astoria, in their Wasp Mk I's escaping the Nahmeighnian air attack on the carriers.

"Cloud Rook, this is Kingpin, we have enemy air contacts coming in. Recommend that you return to carrier, they received no hits."

"Really? Okay, got it, Kingpin. Returning to carrier."

Davenport switched his radio to transmit to the planes in the air, "Right, lads and lasses, Kingpin reports an enemy air formation coming in towards us, we're going to return to the carriers as none of them were hit during that attack. Stick tight and move quickly."

He switched back to talking to command, "Kingpin, this is Cloud Rook, what about the paras? We could relive their escorts now, I reckon we've got the fuel for it."

"Negative, Cloud Rook, the paras have been ordered back to Hawaii, too risky for them right now."

"Shit... Alright Kingpin, out."

Vionna-Frankenlischian Positions
East of Tillamook

The tanks had arrived, and the rocket barrage, while ineffective at killing the enemy, (probably due to the overhanging branches which absorbed the majority of the damage, as well as faulty warheads), still made them beat a hasty retreat.

"Sir, all systems reloaded and ready to go on your mark, half HEAT, the other half is conventional." Major Parry's radio crackled.

"Thanks, lads, I'll call you if we need anything."

"Bravo, the first Brigade of the 5th Armoured Division has landed in full, they are moving to reinforce you now. ETA: 12 minutes." The radio crackled again, this time from Headquaters.

"Got it, Bishop. Are we permitted to counterattack?"

"Negative, Bravo, if the enemy launches a seco-"

The treeline ahead of the Vionna-Frankenlischian trenches once again opened up into heavy gunfire. Around thirty tanks sped towards the trenches while infantry behind them tried to dig in while under suppressive fire, an undertaking which quickly proved redundant as the heavy fire erupting from the trenches downed heads and pinned potential diggers down. The thirty M4 Romulus Main Battle Tanks backing up the Naval Infantry opened up a murderous barrage of machine gun fire, along with rounds from their main guns aimed at the attacking Finnian tanks. Their barrel mounted Rapier ATGMs opened up as well, adding a massive boost to the already hellish fire coming from the 120mm Smoothbore guns.

In an instant, all hell broke loose. Major Parry shouted out for his troops to duck into their trenches, tankmen in their tanks braced as did infantry in their slit trenches. The Finnian artillery shells slammed into the trees where the Vionna-Frankenlischian positions were located. The positions next to, and on the far side of, the river were luckily left to their own devices and kept up their usual rate of fire, pinning down the Finnian forces. However, the troops on the front line along Donaldson Creek were completely pinned, luckily due to their trenches there were very few actual casualties and the heavy armour of the M4 Romulus tanks made them nigh impervious to the barrage, but, with their vision obscured by the volleys of artillery fire they were rendered useless too.

Major Parry radioed in to his rocket artillery, "Streaker, I need your rockets as soon as possible, on the same position!"

Got it, Bravo, we've been hit bad by cluster munitions but our AA managed to get all 16 of their missiles off. I've lost a few men as well as two artillery peices and a Quillion. Three more of my peices are damaged but they can still fire. We'll have your payload on target in a minute."

"Alright, Streaker, do what you can."

[Location: McGowan, Northern shore of Columbia River, OR]

CPT Sogiita watched as the enemy withdrew, his tired but spirited troops forming a perimeter around their new acquisition. Making sure that the wounded were being tended to, he checked the map while calling off the artillery support.

"Knappton... Hey Rad-guy! Update HQ on this. The enemy is heading to Knappton."

[Location: Astoria, OR]

"It's Knappton? Are you sure?"

COL Konagai watched as her comms officer's expression grew more and more incredulous. "What happened?"

"The enemy withdrew from McGowan... to Knappton."

*blink* "Did the 1st Div let up the shelling?"

"I don't think so. Let me confirm that..."

Glancing up, the colonel was confronted by MAJ Devonshire of Vionna-Frankenlisch

=====

"- I think it would be best to wait for General Vandeleur to arrive."

When the major ended off, Konagai nodded. "I fully agree, actually. Seeing as the enemy have withdrawn from McGowan."

At that, Devonshire blinked, his anger subsiding suddenly from the unexpected news. "Excuse me, but did you just say that the enemy forces have withdrawn?"

"Why yes. To Knappton, inexplicably... Anyway, the next part of the plan should be more agreeable to you and your forces..."

[Location: Svensen, OR]

"Sir, the 3rd are asking if our artillery stopped."

COL Kobayashi frowned, glancing at the comms officer as another volley took off. "What sort of question is that?"

"The enemy withdrew from McGowan to Knappton, sir."

"...what the hell?"

Consulting his map, he made a decision. "If they like artillery so much..."

Just then, one of the radio operators yelled. "Sir, our scouts reported in! Enemy movement down the road at Cathlamet and Westport! Seems to be setting up an airbase."

Taking a deep breath, COL Konagai called out to the waiting comms officer. "Put me through to HQ."

[Location: HS Zenryu, Pacific Coast, OR]

"Sir, 1st Div."

Looking up from the documents in hand, LG Satou nodded. "Put him through."

From the speakers, the colonel's voice crackled out. "Sir, the enemy is apparently resistant to the standard Type 3 thermobaric shells, and have moved into what I suspect is a pincer formation involving air assets in Cathlamet and Westport, as well as artillery in Knappton."

Papers on the planning desk shuffled, as maps of the region was pulled up. "Continue, colonel."

The crackles grew louder, evidently Kobayashi was taking a moment to compose himself. "Sir, requesting permission to deploy the Type 8."

Silence. Then LG Kuninaga's voice gently cut through. "Your reasons? This decision is not one to be made lightly. You are, after all, requesting the use of cluster munitions. Even if we are not a signatory of that international convention, use of such munitions should not be considered lightly."

"Sir, our numbers are definitively outmatched by the opponent, and to date they still possess air superiority. An additional airbase could worsen the situation manyfold, as well as erode our current holdings making continued operations extremely hindered. Also, enemy ground elements have demonstrated a disturbing resistance to our conventional munitions. As such, I wish to request the use of said munitions."

Glancing over at Kuninaga, Satou sighed before answering. "Very well. Permission granted. Given our numerical disadvantage, I'm adding one more condition to your standing orders.

"Eliminate the enemy at all costs, and by all means. Location is of superior priority to infrastructure."

[Location: Svensen, OR]

Putting down the mic, Kobayashi sighed. "Inform the 3rd of this. Then relay the orders to our artillery. Target is Cathlamet and Westport. Munition, Type 8.

"Everyone, we have our orders. Let every man do his utmost duty."

"Yes sir!"

[Location: Miles Crossing, OR]

Watching her Type 99s as they stood silent, MAJ Akagaki sighed. It was getting monotonous waiting for new orders. Just as she was contemplating taking a nap, the radio crackled and shortly after, a receiver rose up from the porthole to her perch on the cabin's roof. Eyeing it for a moment, she took it.

"3rd Artillery."

"This is Colonel Konagai. I'm certain you're bored out of your mind right now-"

"I'm not dignifying that with an answer."

"*chuckle* On duty, remember. Alright you little pyromaniac. Good news, and better news."

"Go on..."

"Good news, you guys have a new target. Take over Knappton from the 1st Artillery while they reduce that underdeveloped airstrip over at Westport to rubble."

"And...?"

"Better news, we want Knappton slagged. You're to deploy the Type 8."

Suddenly, the officers and men of the 3rd Artillery Detachment shuddered, as if a great evil is within their midst. On her part, Adagaki's grin grew from from enthusiastic to almost demented. "Understood, HQ. Clear the blast area."

"Commence volleys immediately."

"Loud and clear, Colonel. Adagaki out."

Hopping onto her feet, the somewhat pint-sized major yelled down into the cabin. "Vehicle broadcast frequency!" Moments later, a thumbs-up rose in reply.

Grinning, she cleared her throat into the mic, eliciting winces within hearing range. "Everyone, listen up. We have new orders."

Pausing to make sure that she has their attention, she continued. "Rejoice, my men! Your wish will finally come true!

"We've been tasked to demolish the enemy-held town of Knappton! Reduce it to rubble by fire and steel! ALL HOWITZERS! Load Type 8 shells!

"COMMENCE VOLLEY!"

And at Knappton, a scene unfolded that was not unlike a certain passage from the Bible...

"Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake." Revelation 8:5

Cathlamet, Washington

As the men of the 43rd Bare Base Task force continued to work you could already see the progress they were making towards the foundation for the first of two 9,500ft long by 160ft wide runways that are being currently being built in Cathlamet by the 43rd.

Mountain Home Air Force Base
The men of the 83rd bomb squadron had just finished loading out the squadron's 12 B-1Bs with a mix of CBU-105 cluster bombs, gbu-38 500lbs jdams, and GBU-39 small diameter bombs totaling 73,750lbs. Now the ground crews are watching as the aircraft thunder into the sky and streak towards their target.

Over Svensen, Oregon
Raptor and Talon flight roll in on their target, an emplacement of enemy artillery.
Raptor flight is a flight of 5 A-19s each carrying 8 1000lbs CBU-105 cluster bombs , and 8 500lbs Jdams
Talon flight is a flight of 5 A-19s each carrying 8 1000lbs CBU-97 cluster bombs , and 8 500lbs Jdams
On their first pass Raptor flight dropped their CBU-105s, while Talon flight dropped their 500lbs jdams.

As the enemy's artillery barrage continued, the M-278 launchers of 7th artillery battalion came to life after being ordered to fire. The battalion's A and B batteries each fire 40 atacms missiles. 40 of the missiles are fitted with a single 1,000lbs Warhead, while the other 40 missiles carry the apams Warhead. There target is the enemy's artillery positions in Miles Crossing.

Knappton, Washington
BOOM BOOM BOOM went the impacting arty shells smashing into the city, as the shells continued to impact dozens of fires began to break out.
Then 38th Artillery battalion's a Band D batteries had suffered direct hits suffering severe casualties. Leaving just 2 of the battalion's 6 original batteries intact and battal ready.

3rd and 4th platoons/ 8the armored battalion/ 361st armored Brigade
The men of the 3rd and 4th platoons thought they safe hold up in their armored vehicles. Then the armor piercing artillery shells started smashing through the tops of their vehicles. And so the massacre started, both platoons were completely wiped out.

On there first run down the chute Ranger flight dropped it's CBU-105s and Jdams. Ranger-2 had only released six of her CBU-105s when she was blown out of the sky.
As Wasp flight initiated it's first attack run Wasp-1 was blown out of the sky, but the rest of the flight pressed home their attack firing their Brimstone missiles.
As Ranger flight was regrouping Ranger-1 was struck by a SAM sending his plane crashing down to earth. The three remaining planes of Ranger flight pressed home their attack firing their Brimstone missiles.
Wasp flight followed Ranger flight down the chute for the second time dropping their CBU -105Sand jdams. Wasp-2 released 4 of his CBU-105s before he to was blown out of the sky.

F.S.S. Monitor, Grave Yard of the Pacific on the sea floor 60 feet off of the wreck of F/V Annas Dream
"Captain, their is a group of ships forming up to our south west..... Shit sir They're dropping Depth Charges!" Reported the sonar watch officer
"Fire control, do we have a targeting solution for the vessels?" Asked Captain Smith
"Sir, with all the noise those bloody ships are making I have almost perfect solutions on all 4 ships" replied the weapons officer
"Very well, load tubes 1-5 with Mk48 ADCAPs, load number 6 with a MoSS decoy program the MoSS to run Northwest than turn north, we will sale into the river mouth and up to Portland, for resupply and to further provide support for the allied forces" Ordered Capt. Smith before adding " and for fuck sake ready the tigersharks for those assholes knowing our luck they'll press their attack unless we sink all of their fucking ships"
"We will make it so" replied the men and women of the crew
with in minutes the submarine was ready
"Fire tubes 1-4 at their assigned ships, fire MoSS now! lets leave our home boys!" Ordered Capt. Smith
The Monitor began moving west at a little over 8 knots into the treacherous waters of the Columbia River Bar.

51st Lancer Division HQ, Pacific University Library, Forest Grove, Oregon
"Move the Division Forward! we need to bail out task force 51-1 now!" Ordered Gen. Belichick
General Belichick sat at his desk fuming over the latest J-Stars info showing Vionna-Frankenlischian armor moving in mass to reinforce their forces west of Tillamook on highway 6 move the Division and get the 116th Dragoon Division in on this we're going to need infantry support for this.
"Yes Sir I will get the orders drafted and have the troops moving as soon as possible" replied Col. Patrica
with in 2 hours the 51st lancers had began moving over the pass and down to face the Vionna-Frankenlischian forces behind them the 116th formed up to support the heavy armor of the lancers. the helicopters of the 51st lead the way as they could make the crossing the fastest

1st Scout Brigade of the 51st Lancer Division "the Patriots" East of Tillamook on Oregon Highway 6
the 34 LY10 blood hounds of the scout brigade were surprised by the hailstorm of ATGM's and main gun rounds from the Vionna-Frankenlischian tanks, this would be the LY10's first encounter with heavy enemy armor, the first round of fire killed 4 Bloodhounds, the destruction would have been more however the Goliath Block II APS mounted on the LY10 Bloodhounds intercepted a majority of the missiles and the armor scheme was able to stop some of the 120mm rounds from the Vionna-Frankenlischian main battle tanks. The crews of the Finnian LY10's placed there target reticles on the Vionna-Frankenlischian tanks and squeezed their triggers the big 140mm guns roared to life and the first true battle for the finnian forces had begun. with in minutes 5 more LY10s had succumbed to Vionna-Frankenlischian firepower
"I need reinforcements" Col Brady yelled into his microphone
"We're popping over the hill now" replied Col. Clink of Wasp Flight the first of the helicopters of the 51st lancer division and Col. Bradys first reinforcements to arrive

The men of the 101st, fought and died at times, they dug in under fire their artillery support providing some cover but apparently somehow the idiots in artillery where missing a segment of trench as the helicopters arrived the 300 para's had lost 47 men and 33 more injured unable to fight. Lt. Miller reported to Capt. Hightower over the radio the need for more artillery and Capt. Hightower passed that back to command. with in minutes the Crussader SPH's of the 51st lancer division still west of Forest grove spoke as one launching a healthy mix of HE, anti-personel and anti-armor shells at Vionna-Frankenlischian. the noise of 60 SPH's firing at once is defining the noise and sites of there shells landing is a scene from hell itself

Wasp flight nearing task force 51-1, east of Tillamook
the 16 AH-64D's and 8 RAH-66B's of Wasp flight raced over the coast range just barely over the tree tops until they where on the western slope of the coast range.
"Targets to the west" reported the pilot of wasp 4
"engage the armor first!" ordered Col. Clink
the 24 helicopters launched their brimstone anti-tank missiles as targets became available.

96th attack squadron, near Tillamook
the 8 A-12's of the 96th raced away from the light house and their targets unable to see their success but chased by countless SAM's, the A-12's launched their countermeasures chaff and flares but in 3 cases it wasn't enough and the flight returned to base 3 aircraft short. certainly they wouldn't be the last.
