Petrokovia to Send Red Cross to Arcus Terram, Sanctions to Faustin Land

The Petrokovian Red Cross has announced that it shall be sending upwards of 1,500 members to Arcus Terram to serve in providing aid in war-affected areas. They have stated that there will be no military escort arriving with them, but Petrokovian intelligence officials have announced a reminder to any Faustinian Armed Forces members that an attack on any Petrokovian citizen shall be considered an attack on the United Soviet States of Petrokovia, and should any of the Red Cross officials be killed while serving in Arcus Terram, a State of War shall be considered.

In related news, the Soveshchaniye has declared harsh sanctions against Faustin Land, with any and all trade between the country and Petrokovia halted indefinitely. The Premier has called for a meeting in Krasnograd to discuss the peaceful resolution of the conflict. He hopes that a resolution can be achieved, though many experts doubt a resolution can be reached.

Chancellor Leonardo Caprice’s last term is slowly coming to an end. All parties have made public their candidates, below follows a list:

Eva Margoliss
Particio democratico

Often called Leonardo’s right hand in both a serious and satirical way, Eva has served as Leonardo’s secretary and later Vice Chancellor for about 7 years.
She’s known to many as a pleasent, very approachable, energetic (in contrast to Leonardo) and intelligent young woman (she’s only 28).
Her main aim is to continue Leonardo’s work of the past 10 years meaning little will change if she wins the election, although experts predict a more proactive
approach to foregin policy from her due to her different temprament.

Casu Libertatiss

The current president of the (classical) liberal party Marco Fideliss is predicted to be Margoliss’s main rival. Being a partner in the federal government of the Particio Democratico and the 9 years of cooperation has made
the policy of both parties barely distinguishable, yet there are some details that differ. Fideliss is an outspoken proponent of unlimited free trade, even with regimes that to many political parties have questionable
motives. To him free trade is always a good thing, no matter the political climate of the country with whom is traded.

The CSR hasn’t held a chancellor’s postion since the end of the 1970’s and wants to change this by lining up Martino Cupice as candidate.
He is decribed as a firm but fair leader with a slight moral superiority complex.
A firm believer in social democracy (center left) he wants Roelandia to play an active role in the world in promoting this ideology.

Thomasso Greco is a new face in the Roelandian political landscape.
Because of the electoral defeats of the previous years the party decided to introduce someone new to run for chancellor in order to shed their image of “extremely conservative” and gain back
the popular support of the people. Some question this choice as a totally unkown candidate rarely gains any significant votes yet the party remains confident.

The party striving for the reinstatement of the monarchy has lined up Theo Ligurass, a lawyer from Roelici. He comes from a famely of rich bakers who were purveyors to the royal household.
Theo grew up with stories about the royal family and is very acquainted with the current “heir” to the throne, miss Fantasia. Mainsly because his family frequented the former royal families house even after their deposition.
Though not likely to win he is expected to add the necessary ambiance tot he election campaign as he is known for his sharp wit.

Particio Verte

Meyrema Almaco went form running a daycare center in downtown Quinifar to leading the green party in under 3 years,
she felt the government did not enough to protect the enviroment and has campaigned against various industries over the years. In 2014 she relocated to Zantagon and was elected to the regional
parliament starting her quick climb through the ranks of the party. Her main program point is a striving for international rules regarding enviroment preservation, she has stated
repeatedly that she considers Exaequatio as an example of what is according to her the best way forward and aims to solidify ties with that nation (even more than they already are) because of it.

Marxisto Union (MU)

The Marxist Union, being the most leftist party in Roelandia has close ties with Petrokovia, mainly because the party was founded out of inspiration of the Petrokovian system.
The party advocates Workers self management for all firms and the redistribution of all wages in such a way that all income is equal across the board. Freya Dobosso is no exception on this front.
Though described as being gentle she is known to firmly defend her position in debates.

Movento Fascista

Franco Gebuloss is the well known president of the small but persistent Movento Fascista party.
He claims he is the only right candidate for Roelandia and will “make Roelandia great again”, accusing his rival candidates of being hypocrites and fraudes.
His first speech has already aroused some controversy as he aplauded the recent actions of Faustin land and proclaimed he would seek closer ties to the NSL if he is elected.

Chancellor Caprice prepared to go into dialogue with Ganeba but warns reparation payments are unlikely

Chancellor Caprice has reacted to Ganeban demands of reparations. He proclaimed he was always prepared to hear out the Ganebans in a constructive dialogue but added that reparation payments regarding a 60 year old issue were unlikely at best.

"Why should our generation be blamed for what our forefathers did? I won't deny that their actions have caused some of the dreadfull conditions in that country but claiming that we are to bail them out like this is not constructive. Battle for Welec rages on in Ganeban civil war

According to an army spokesman, government forces renewed an offensive aimed at seizing several villages on the outskirts of Welec. Taking place after a brief lull in the fighting in December, diplomats were hopeful that talks, mediated by Roelandia, would be able negotiate a ceasefire. However, Musawe's declaration to crush the rebels quelled any hopes of stopping the bloodshed, and the Ganeban delegation was withdrawn by early January.

Welec is one of the few major Ganeban cities still under the control of the National Front for the Ganeban People's Liberation, the official name given to the coalition of rebel groups that have coalesced against the military dictatorship. Located in one of the regions most opposed to Musawe's military dictatorship, Welec is a valuable transportation and industrial hub, making it a strategic target for the government to capture. Its importance has convinced the National Front to reinforce the area with over 1,000 fighters, bolstering rebel forces in the region to around 5,000 men. The few reporters who have been allowed access into the city describe rebels were highly motivated, despite a string of defeats from government forces.

"They're not going to back down without a fight," An anonymous reporter said, Pictures of the rebels in Welec show ramshackle defenses - barricades, sandbags - being hastily put up as government forces approach the city. Trenches have been dug and manned by determined fighters, who, if they aren't able to rebel the attack, seek to delay and bloody the advancing government forces.

As for the civilians in the city, panic and confusion is spreading. Thousands seek to escape before the battle, but rebel forces, hoping to deter the government from attacking, have closed off most of the roads leading out of the city. Only those with certain, and usually wealthy contacts can escape, often by paying the rebels a hefty bribe. The government, hoping to minimize civilian losses, have condemned the rebels, and ordered civilians, if possible, to escape the city.

Attacks on several outlying villages have seen varying degrees of success from government forces. Journalists attached to Ganeban forces on the frontlines report fierce resistance in some areas, but note that the rebels were outnumbered and outgunned. The rebel leadership seemingly seeks to preserve its strength for the bloody urban fighting, while committing only minimal forces to guard the city's outskirts.

Ganeban aircraft, in preparation for the renewed offensive, have also participated, launching airstrikes and bombing entrenched rebel positions. With little anti-aircraft weaponry of their own, and no air force to speak of, the rebel forces are at the mercy of one of the Ganeban government's most valuable assets.

The same army spokesman confidently declared that the villages would fall by the end of the month, although the battle for the city is expected to last through the spring.

Inprobus Pledges Support for its Allies, Ganeba and the Nickel Empire

The Inprobus Empire has answered the plea of Ganeba for help. It is willing to send troops to help subdue the current civil war or helping them obtain their demands from Roelandia. Eichmann stated in an interview;

While Ganeba's ask for help was short and ambivalent, we are always willing to help an ally. Whether it be to swiftly crush their tyrannical opponents in this civil war or to be a partner in 'diplomacy' in obtaining Ganeban demands, we are there to help.

In addition, when interviewed about the current situation with Faustin advances on Arcus, Emperor Eichmann stated;

I have no quarrel with Faustin and actually enjoy their initiative on such matters. However, we will support our Nickelian brothers through thick and thin and if they are prepared to defend their aircraft military-industrial compl -- I mean Arcus, their ally -- apologies... Then we are willing to help. Personally I think these democratic nations are acting like a bunch of wimps in response to the invasion. If they really had such an issue with Arcus' demise, then petty condemnations would not be the first thing issued. Military action is necessary in such times. But far be it from me to criticize how the world operates. I just want to point out it is yet another example of why democracies are failures and liberalism is hypocritical. Disgusting, actually.

CHANCELLOR CAPRICE ANSWERS INPROBUS

The Roelandian government has answered the intention of Inprobus to sent troops to Ganeba. Chancellor Leonardo proclaimed the following in the parliamant today:

"We are currently in the middle of talks with Ganeba to establish a peacekeeping force with an international mandate and make a constructive deal concerning humaitarian aid and economic development. I find the intention of Inprobus to directly meddle in the conflict premature as these talks are still ongoing and I therefore ask to refrain in sending troops to Ganeba. They are however cordially invited to the negotiating table and we look forward to go into dialogue with them regarding the issue together with Ganeba. I want to stress though that even though we ask to refrain, in the meantime that Inbropus is present at the negotiations we will not allow any troops to set foot on Ganeban soil as it may influence their negotiating position unfairly. I therefore gave the order to sent a fleet to the strait of Afer to block any Inprobusian military ships from crossing and to inspect any other ship that attempts to do so. Also an aircraft carrier has been sent to the gulf of Aferi to patrol international airspace around Ganeba. If any Inprobusian troops set foot in the country we will know. I hope off course that Inprobus will look upon this formality as merely an insurance policy on our part given their international reputation although I am confident that they will choose the way of conversation rather than violence. Do not however interpret this formality as empty in meaning. If our question is ignored there will be a response. I shall conclude with whishing the Ganeban and Inprobusian governments all the best and I look forward to meeting them both on the negotiating table."

Nickel Empire To Boost Support For Ganeba

Following the request of the government of Ganeban for more help from the Nickel Empire and Inprobus in crushing the rebels that have wrecked havoc across the country, an agreement was signed between the Nickel Empire and Ganeban to increase Nickelian help for the Revolutionary Ganeban Armed Forces.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Smitty Werberjaggermanjenson, said that the Minister of Armaments offered to sell 24 A-29 counter-insurgency/attack aircraft in order to boost and modernize the RGAF's ground-attack capabilities. However Ganeba said they would only buy 10 for and if satisfied with their performance they will buy more.

The Minister of Defence also pledged to send between 250-500 veterans of the Highlanic Insurgency in order to teach and train the RGAF in tactics and plans that allowed the Nickel Empire to defeat the Highlanic Insurgents.

It hasn't been said when the A-29s and advisors will leave for Ganeba, though it was stated that two strategic airlifters will fly several trips between the Nickel Empire and Ganeba to bring in the advisors and A-29s.

Roelandia is out of Line, Says Emperor

Emperor Eichmann replied to Caprice's statements, saying;

Ganeba has asked for Inprobusian and Nickelian assistance. I want to specify that Ganeba has not specified what kind of aid they require and that no troops have even been mobilized. Roelandia has grossly escalated this situation in which they have no business getting involved in. It is out of line to form blockades and inhibit allies form attempting to assist one another; whether it be via military, medical, diplomatic, or otherwise. In addition, this militaristic action only confirms our suspicions about Roelandian attempts to recolonize Ganeba. This campaign is obviously an attempt to reestablish a military presence in the [Ganeban area] and attempt to conceal their true motives by claiming that they are doing it for "Inprobus' international reputation". I make this clear: We will be sending military aid if directly requested from Ganeba. If they decide it is not necessary, then the matter is dropped.

A pleasure to be here.

Interviewer
So, mister Chancellor. I think it's obvious that the reason we invited you here is the recent tension surrounding the Ganeba crisis.
Inprobus has replied to the speech you gave in the parliament yesterday afternoon, they stated, and I quote " Roelandia has grossly escalated this situation in which they have no business getting involved in" and that we are apparently "Out of line" I imagine you don't share that sentiment.

Chancellor
No as a matter of fact I don't. You see, Inprobus likes to pretend that we weren't already involved before the speech I made yesterday but that is exactly where they are wrong.
We have been involved from the start because, as everyone knows, there is still a significant Roelandian population in Ganeba and because of this reason we have monitored the conflict closely from the very beginning.
We have also closely coordinated with the Ganeban government and tried to broker numerous deals between the various factions fighting in the civil war. We have repeatedly shown our good intentions to both the Ganebans and the world. It's the Inprobusians and by extension the Nickelians who are the newcomers in this scenario and I would hate it if they'd somehow make the work we have done these past few months irrelevant.

Emperor Eichman nonetheless accuses our country of harboring neocolonial ambitions, what do you have to say to that statement?

Chancellor
Well, I think this is the kind of rhetoric we have come to except from Inprobus and I won't make any furhter comments on that.

Interviewer
This so called rhetoric did state somewhat indirectly but nevertheless clearly that they will be sending military aid if Ganeba requests it, which could be interpretted as a comment of defiance against the Roelandian blockade of the Strait of Afer. What are your thoughts on that?

Chancellor
I can only say that I will stand by my earlier speech.

Interviewer
Ok, about your speech though, according to some you did use harsh language at the adress of Inprobus. Was it too harsh?

Chancellor
I remember inviting them to the ongoing talks with Ganeba which hardly sounds harsh to me. And as I said, I stand by my earlier speech. They are welcome to join the talks, yet they still have to either accept or decline my invitation.

Interviewer
One last question mister Chancellor. Sending the fleet, too bold too early, or a calculated move?

I think history will decide that.

Ganeba calls for end to Roelandian embargo

Mtho Bisi, Minister of Public Information and Relations, as well as Musawe's current successor, a speech during the dictator's absence. Speaking to the Ganeban Parliament, alongside the other members of Musawe's cabinet and numerous other prominent government officials, Bisi condemned the Roelandian blockade. "It should be made clear to the international community," Bisi declared, "that the Roelandian actions were decided unilaterally, without so much as consulting the Ganeban government."

"The Roelandian blockade of the Aferi straits was a rash, aggressive move made out of paranoia. The Ganeban government has not and never will request any direct military assistance from Inprobus. The very notion that there would be Inprobusian troops fighting on Ganeban soldiers is ludicrous. Furthermore, the restrictions Roelandia has placed on valuable shipping and commerce in the area is detrimental to free trade. The requirement that all vessels passing through the area was submit to Roelandian inspection is worrying, and could be easily abused. Traffic in the Aferi straits should be free and unhindered."

"The Ganeban government formally requests for Roelandia to end this blockade and withdraw all ships from the area. We require nothing more, and nothing less. We will do anything within our power to avoid escalating the situation, and in accordance with that, while we appreciate the support, any Inprobusian military intervention in regards to the Ganeban crisis is unnecessary. This is a direct appeal to the Roelandian government and the Chancellor, to reopen the Aferi straits and withdraw their naval assets from the region."

When asked what a Roelandian refusal would entail, Bisi replied, "While we will not resort to military force, unless all other options have been exhausted, a Roelandian refusal would greatly exacerbate tensions in the region. It should also be noted that it would almost certainly reduce any last hopes of achieving a ceasefire in the civil war."

"Ultimately, it is up to the Chancellor and the Roelandian government, who were chosen by the people, to decide. I have the utmost faith and confidence in their decision. No matter what the outcome, I hope that the Ganeban people will forgive this lapse of judgement, and move on with the future."

With the escalation of threats from other nations around the globe, the small island nation of Onorus has taken to looking for prospective allies that are 'Aligned with our beliefs.', according to one military official. These allies are already found in the nations of Reth, Faustin Land and oddly enough The Estovakian Union, the middle of which prompted the discussion of joining the National Strength League. Onorus is already currently engaged with Faustin Land in a mutual defense agreement titled 'The Northern Ocean Treaty Association', or NOTA for short. It is still being discussed in the higher echelons of power, but public support of the move to join the NSL has been quite pronounced.

"We realize that coming out saying we may join the NSL may paint a large target on our backs." Said General Ivan Petrovich. "Foreign escalation is inevitable, and we're preparing for some interloping country to come and 'Liberate' us before we can finalize anything." The small country has a sizable arms manufacturing industry and is rich in precious gems and other high value commodities, making it a tempting target for any 'Democratic Crusaders' around the globe. "Our mobilization is simply a precaution to defend our island, and if necessary, fulfill our NOTA obligation to aid Faustin Land in the Arcus Terram liberation."

Nickel Empire To Perform Show of Force In Atlantic Ocean

With the war continuing in Arcus Terran unabated, the grand admirals of the Grand Nickelian Navy have decided to make a show of force in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean by moving a carrier task group into the area. The carrier task force will consist of a fleet carrier as well as an aircraft cruiser and their escorts, with a total of twenty three ships. The fleet will depart Port Nickel sometime tomorrow. The fleet will journey to the north of Vernicht and the west of Onorus.

The streets were recently flooded with armed men and women in response to the Nickle Empire's announcement to move a carrier fleet to the west of Onorus. Tensions had already mounted during the original mobilization, leading to many militia groups beginning preparations ahead of time. The official activation came minutes after the Nickle Empire made it's intentions known, with many militia members seeing the act of sending a carrier fleet to the west as an open act of war. The government has not responded thusly, but it has dispatched the first fleet, the largest of the Onorussian Navy, to meet the coming threat head on.

"LET THEM COME!" Screamed one man wearing a ski mask, his militia uniform bearing the mark of the Onorussian Resistance Batallion, which happens to be the largest and most extreme of the militia groups. In the background, footage shows a bonfire in a vacant lot with more militia troops crowding around it, some or whom are burning the flag of the Nickle Empire or tossing books by authors of the same country. As if to show just how close to joining the NSL they are, they've also begun burning flags and anything related to the PCGIA. "We've defended this Island for twenty years! We'll continue to defend it! Long live Free Onorus!"

The Vernichtian government has recently mobilized it's military, in response to the international conflict unfolding right at it's door. The Faith has asked for it's own branch of the military, the infamous 'Gewählt' sections of the Royal Army, to take up the easternmost positions in our own country, to be the shield that guards the children of Teiwaz from the impure whims of the foreigners. The Gewählt are known for their position as a sort of shock troop, utilized during the Grand Revolution by the Faith to great effect.

The reasoning for the position of such a elite troop near the Border of Arcus Terram was explained by our leader, King Viktor, during a conference with the Free Media last night.

In times of such international turmoil, we must stand ready to defend our own nation above all else. The Supreme Zealot personally asked me to allow her own soldiers to guard the border, for the glory of Vernicht and the Teiwazi Faith, and I have plenty of reason to believe that the Gewählt are the best soldiers in our Royal Army. They should stand guard, against this evil unfolding beside us.

I would also like to officially send forth a condemnation of Faustin Land, for their actions in the sovereign nation of Arcus Terram are completely unlawful. The only reason I could find that these bunch of fools would invade would be to conquer - a vastly outdated concept. They have committed atrocity against civilians, and should they continue, I do not believe the Vernichtian nation can simply stand by and watch. I will ask them to stand down immediately, and return to their own country.

The Supreme Zealot of the Teiwazi Faith also gave slightly less eloquent comment on the subject, from the High Temple in the north of our nation.

However these foreigners fight amongst themselves, Vernicht will not fall. Vernicht will never fall again, not to the vile corporations that lorded over us and kept our ancient Faith suppressed for so many decades. We can watch those idiots fight over some useless strip of land, we can watch them go on about how bloody 'glorious' their national ideals are and how they'll take the world by storm... It'll end the way it always does. With the fucking Petrokovians sending them all to bed like the naughty little children they are. And Vernicht will be here, as it has been for thousands of years. Our monarchy will never fall, our faith will never fall, our people will never fall. Armies both foreign and domestic have been dashed in our mountains and grasslands before, they will be dashed again.

It is my duty to speak the voice of Teiwaz, and his voice thunders across the valleys and cities of our nation, speaking to our people. I will follow my monarch anywhere - as should every good child of Teiwaz - but it is my opinion that our place is here, in our own country. Let the Inprobussians with their false Emperor talk of tyranny and delusions of grandeur, let the weak Chancellor of Roelandia speak of his values and his righteousness, and let the Faustins go on about barbarism or whatever the fucking ravenstarvers are letting pour from their wretched mouths these days. GANEBA AND ROELANDIA COME TO AN UNDERSTANDING

After a constructive dialogue an understanding was reached in the Ganeba crisis.
Our forces will lift the blockade when a UN peacekeeping force has arrived in the country.

MILITARY READINESS LEVEL RAISED

In light of the recent military boasting in the border regions of Roelandia the federal government has raised the military readIness rating from 5 (peacetime) to 4 (above normal readiness).
National guard volenteers have been called into sevice and the air force is flying regular patrols along the borders with Arcus Terram, Faustin land and Zuskebia.

EVA MARGOLISS SEEN WITH CHANCELLOR'S BROTHER

Tabloids published a vague photograph today claiming to show Chancellor election candidate Eva Margolliss, current vice-chancellor with the brother of ruling chancellor Leonardo Caprice.
Matheo Caprice, the afformentioned brother is relativly well known by the public due to the position his brother holds and is a scientist working for the university of Zignifer.
The pair was spotted in a café in Ici Roelandia yesterday evening reportedly enjoying a capuchino. Several sources have confirmed that Matheo Caprice was indeed present in the capital.
On the photographs they are seen kissing rather intimately.
Although the report remains unverified, several rival candidtates have already commented on the story. "We've fought for our independence before, we will continue to fight now, we will continue to fight in the future. We will fight to the last!" There were several flashes from photographers in the background of the footage. "They say it is to try and stabilize the region, but we Onorussians see through their lies! The Nickle Empire, like the PCGIA, seek only to invade and take what's ours! It is for that reason we have decided officially to join the National Strength League." The woman glares directly at the camera. "As of this moment, ships from the Nickle Empire are considered a security risk. Any ship entering our waters bearing the flag of the Nickle Empire will be fired upon with extreme prejudice."

PanGIA Offers Ganeba Membership

Today in a joint press conference between the Inprobus and Nickel Empires, Ganeba was offered membership to join the great coalition, known as PanGIA or Pan-continental Grand Imperial Alliance. If Ganeba accepts, this would make them the fourth member to be admitted, the other members being Galbeon, and the Nickel and Inprobus Empires. PanGIA offers a wide range of benefits, including reduced prices in weapons and military vehicles, increased trade in various goods, coordinated military training exercises, sharing of technology (military or otherwise), and mutual protection and defense against foreign aggressors.

The two nations at the conference wanted to make it clear that this should be by no means interpreted as retaliation against Roelandia's overreactions. Discussions of offering Ganeban admission occurred long before Roelandia's misdeeds.

The Nickel Empire and Inprobus look forward to hearing Ganeba's reply.

Ganeba accepts Inprobusian invitation, officially joins PanGIA

From his palace in the Ganeban capital of Esinkulu, the Umkhosa announced that Ganeba would be joining the Pan-Continental Grand Imperial Alliance, commonly called PanGIA, after an invitation from Inprobus. The issue, which was put to vote in the Ganeban parliament, passed both houses with ease, securing the necessary 2/3rds majority in the Council of Provinces, the upper house of the legislature.

As part of the reasons for joining the alliance, Musawe cited security concerns, especially in light of the Roelandian blockade. He also said the Ganeban government had been interested in pursuing closer ties with the Nickel Empire and Inprobus, which stemmed out of common interests. The Umkhosa said he looked forward to "a new era of improved cooperation and bilateral relations."

Addressing perceived Roelandian concerns that it could impact the nature of their agreement, Musawe made a statement: "Ganeba's entry into PanGIA does not alter the dynamic of the present situation. Ceasefire negotiations are going ahead as planned, and we have achieved immense progress in regards to that. We intend to honor the terms of our agreement, and we will expect the same in return. I reiterate our earlier statement that we will not request the direct military intervention of any foreign power - although," he hastily added, "we are certainly open to the idea of significantly improving our armed capabilities."

Foreign policy experts say the move is major, but unsurprising. "Ganeba, under the auspices of Musawe, have for a long time expressed intentions to improve diplomatic relations with Inprobus and the Nickel Empire. While they have not openly requested to join the organization, we can only imagine what happened behind the scenes to lead to this decision. The Roelandian blockade, and the ensuing Ganeban crisis, may have only served to hasten Ganeba's entry into the alliance."

Humanitarian Aid Still On the Way; Military Prepares in Anticipation of Event

After much thought, and working through some logistics, it had been decided that a different set of humanitarian aid ships shall be sent by Petrokovia, this time from Ukraiyana rather than northern Ruslandia. The medical and humanitarian aid fleet had been given orders not to stop for the blockade set up by Faustin, but also has not been accompanied by any escort fleet. The Premier has gone on record stating that any attack made on a peaceful humanitarian aid fleet would be "entirely unwise, politically and militarily."

The fleet's course will take it around Vernicht, avoiding Onorussian waters, as well as their blockade.

In other news, it would appear that the Petrokovian military is doing more frequent drills as of late, and the navy seems prepared to de-mothball the several hundred ships currently in storage. If these ships are made battle-ready and sent to active service, it would be the first time that Petrokovia's entire naval might was active since the Patriotic War.

Petrokovia Offers Organizational Alliance

The Premier has recently extended an offer of the creation of a group that would serve as a military alliance, economic alliance and free trade organization, and an open-border alliance, for the strengthening of democracy and freedom. The only two nations this offer was directly issued to were Petrokovia's closest allies, Exaequatio and Roelandia, though the Premier has stated that other democracies will be considered if they express interest in joining.

Fleet to Return Home
A Nickelian fleet that has stationed west of the Oniorussian coast for the past three days will start heading home to Port Nickel sometime tomorrow. The fleet was originally sent as a show of force in response to the invasion against Arcus Terram. Halfway through their journey to the west of Oniorus the fleet of twenty-three ships was unexpectedly reduced in size when ten of the ships turned around. The government has stated no reason for their abrupt U-turn nor what the ships were containing.

DoND Creating Aircraft Contracts

With the (expected) fall of Arcus Terram to the military might of Faustin Land, this action could potentially cut off the Royal Nickelian Air Force from its main foreign supplier of aircraft. Since the military-industrial complex in the Nickel Empire has grown sluggish in the past several decades in creating and manufacturing domestic designs due to stiff competition from Arcus Terram manufacturers, though with this looking to be an unviable option for much longer the Department of National Defence has announced that they will be holding a contest for an air firm to supply aircraft for the Royal Nickelian Air Force. So far three Nickelian air companies have announced they intend to submit designs in order to recapture the air force market while a rumor is going around that a Petrokovian air firm will make a bid.

In a surprising move that appears to be a bid to gain foreign and domestic support, the Zuskeubian government has announced today that it has no intention of joining the great blockade against Arcus Terram at this time. A spokesman claimed that there was no reason for Zuskeubia to interfere with humanitarian aid supporting civilians, as well as attributing the government being so open about the move to hopes that good conduct on the world stage would prove that Zuskeubia was not the tyrannical Orwellian police state it is often portrayed to be on foreign television. A government minister also urged the governments of the nations participating in the blockade to reconsider their positions and to allow civilian aid ships to pass unharassed.
