The end of the Great War should have brought a time of peace, the war to end all wars some men of thought called it, oh so mistaken they were. The Principality of Lancaster; ruled by Princess Theresa of Lancaster sought to unite the province with their neighbours, the Prusso-Linathians. The Principality of Länth had the same intentions but they had a common obstacle that kept unification only as a wishful future.
The Kingdom of Newrey, in their urge to keep the province divided, allowed the Principalities to co-exist but unification was forbidden, a small territory in the Northern Peninsula of Lancaster was being used as a guarantee of non-unification. The Princess didn't want to risk a full invasion on her nation, and she knew that they could only have a chance of independence with the Prusso-Linathians joining in their struggle of independence and unity. Thus, when the war was over, both Principalities simply disappeared from the international spotlight and in complete isolation they silently armed themselves and got ready to fight for their independence and achieve their unity.
November 22nd, 1917, Kaiserthron, former capital of The Principality of Länth.
The ceremony was rushed, for time was of the essence, with Newrey licking their wounds after the war and the whole world re-building their economies and cities, the Linathians saved precious time and saved all the majestuous and pompous ceremony. Still holding some degree of royalty and decency, the Archbishop finished his statement infront of thousends of people in Sanct Louis Abtei [Saint Louis Abbey] "...There what God has joined together, let no one separate" the now King of a unified Linathia kissed his wife and greeting the people the first cry of independence were not applauds but an anthem. The First national anthem of Linathia. God save the King.
The same day, Outskirts of Juno, new Capital of the Kingdom of Linathia
Juno was being fortified by the merged army of Länth and Lancaster, ready to defend the city and it's surroundings. The army began to mobilize it's infantry and the few units of cavalry available making a total of 20k strong, it wasn't enough to wage war with Newrey nor anyone for that matter, but the marriage was done, and the spark of independence and unity was ignited, there was no turning back.
Lexinshire County, border with Newrey/Zone of Newreyan guarantee
A unit of the new Linathian army approached the artificial border that divided the small town of "Lexington" the east part of the town belonged to Linathia and the west belonged to Newrey, the Captain of the group of cavalrymen took a piece of paper and declared "The town of Lexington in its entirety. And the Peninsula belonging to the county of Lexingshire, by decree of the Royal Parliament under his Majesty King Heinrich of House Steiner, are not part of the United Linathian Kingdom. To all Newreyan forces stationed in this town. Abandon your posts and return to your country. Failure to comply and you will be fired upon!"
The people didn't know what to say, should they cheer, should they stay quiet? They knew one thing however. Winds of war were approaching, and Lexington was going to feel it first. The 1st Royal Cavalry began to occupy the entire town, ignoring the clear line that divided Linathia from Newrey, the land was extremely small only the West part of town being under Newreyan control and all the way into the coast, which was two or three hours on foot. But still, Linathia's spirit of independence was burning strong.
Meanwhile, the now united Linathian army was starting to man the old coastal defenses which were going to be used to defend against the incoming Newrey fleet. The weapons foolishly provided by Newrey would prove useful for the Linathian army in the event of a Newreyan invasion, with troops being moved constantly, the entire country stopped and civilian populations were being evacuated to the western isles belonging to Linathia, those who choosed to stay, were merged into the army; recieving basic combat training.
