Kathic Ski Resorts Battered By Early Snowstorm
Val-de-Avignes after the snowstorm. The town was hit with over 4 feet of snow.
Most Kathmanduean ski resorts had no had to close in nearly 5 years after the a storm, named "Andre", swept through the mountains. This time, "Gaétan" was even more unforgiving. In the town of Mauvinne, nearly 7 feet of snow fell over the 3 day period. The Provinces that were most hard-hit were Guionnt and Almeas, with the average in those Provinces being 4.76 feet of snow. The storm was nearly only inside of Kathmandue, with parts of southern Grothbord receiving about 1-1.5 feet of snow. The storm stretched as far south has Beaulieu, the largest city in Northern Kathmandu with a Metro Population of over 4 million. This is also the earliest snow storm to hit Kathmandue, as most hit between December-April.

Aid had been prepared as early as last Wednesday (02/11/16). A various assortment of supplies such as shovels, snowblowers, food, water, etc. was loaded onto the RKAF's C-17's and A400M's. TWA Cargo also sent a 747-8F packed with supplies to BEI. Calling it a "Group effort" between the Army, Marines, and especially Air Force, as well as private and state owned companies. Prime Minister Mélanie Astevau commended those involved in the process as "heroes of our great nation, in a time of need".
