Today, at 0500, Kathic 25,000 troops began moving into Grothic territory just to the north that is ethnically Kathic. Most see it as a liberation of their comrades who have been separated for over 3 centuries. Kathic troops entered towns and villages to cheers like we saw in the Second World War when the RKA was liberating Kathia. Prime Minister Thorsson said it is "a day of celebration for our people. They have been reunited with the Motherland." Approximatly 35,000 men are left to guard the border, though the military says the men will eventually be moved up to the front and another 15,000 will be moved to guard to original Kathic border in the Alpine Mountains. Prime Minister Thorsson has called on reserves troops, numbering between 200-350,000 men. There was little fighting to be had as the troops marched forwards. Troops marched behind MPVs and Levaux tanks. The RKAF has sent Rafale fighters to begin bombing the Nationalist and Communist stronghold areas in hopes that they are weakened before as possible assault by the military.

It is unclear what the Army's next move will be, but some speculate that it will be an assault against the the fascist stronghold in the south-central area of Grothbord.

Peia Sofia, today in the capital in Tihrul, was inaugurated as the new Prime Minister of the Banyan Confederation. In her speech, she officially declared "Ρ̓αιμπερuς Κοθuλκυνιδ Μιλεκαθι Σιγ!" 'Baccania lives again'. She is expected to institute large scale reforms in the country, including the redistribution of the Oil Party's wealth, and the total dissolution of the aforementioned entity.

Peia Sofia has successly won her seat in the nation's capital, and with it comes a new hope for the millions of Baccanesians living in extreme poverty. Hailed by many in Baccania as a true socialist visionary, she spent decades fighting her political rivals, nearly being killed during the brief "Red Panic" in the early 2000s. Now, having won, she rises to power during a turbulent time in the world. With her having to continue the tedious CEC negotiations started by her predecessor, she also faces a recent developement... the civil war in Grothbord.

This afternoon, an official statement was given: The Baccanese government, and that of the early CEC government, hereby declare their support for the struggles of the Anarchist Faction of Grothbord.

Plans are being discussed to provide arms, medical care, and aid to the faction and its supporters within Grothbord.

Trochev promises no punishments for defecting FKG soldiers if they join the Loyalist

After the killing of the FKG leadership, Revter Trochev has promised no punishments for soldiers that leave the FKG and join his Loyalist army.
He invited whole armored brigades to defect along with the rest of the air force. At the end of his speech he informed the world that the armies formerly under General Helsungs command have been shattered and are currently retreating to a more defensible area. The Loyalist forces are racing towards the sea to cut off any more hostile shipments coming directing into Grothbord.

Chancellor Trochev is expected to discuss with the AC about cooperation with the civil war.

Celibraean Troops Boarding Ships Bound for Grothbord

Elements of 1st Armoured Brigade and 7th Air Assault Brigade have been seen leaving their barracks, whilst armoured vehicles, trucks and other assorted materiel have been seen heading towards Portsmouth harbour, amidst rumours that Celibrae is staging a military intervention in Grothbord.

The Celibraean intervention is expected to bolster the flagging FKG, which has suffered a blow in the form of the assassination of 75% of its key leadership, which the loyalists are now capitalising on by encouraging defections. Additional rumours are circulating that the democratic faction and the FKG have struck a deal, forging a democratic coalition with Celibraean support.

It is said that sole remaining Field Marshall, Wilhelm Tesch, was instrumental in coming to an agreement. Concurrently, the Tianese carrier group at Port Isaac has been seen making preparations to leave port, and similar sightings of increased activity across Royal Navy bases are also reported.

4 Air raids were conducted by the air force on the capital, currently controlled by Trochev's government.

A series of air raids, approved by the Imirs, was conducted on the Grothbordian capitol in an effort to weaken Trochev's forces. In an official statement, the Baccanese government has stated that "Baccania has declared war on Grothbord, and we hope to ensure that the citizens will be rewarded for their hardship by a government of freedom, not tyranny as they have been subjected to by Trochev". In addition, the first dispatch of emergency aid helicopters have arrived throughout anarchist controlled Grothbord, and distribution of aid and assistance to the people of the region has begun.

It is believed that the government has plans of sending up to 150,000 men and women to fight in Grothbord, although the numbers are uncertain. Prime Minister Peia Sofia has urged world leaders to ensure that Grothbord will become a free nation after this conflict.

Just hours after the bombing the eliminated three Grothbordian generals who supported a Military Junta, Kathia announced that it would throw it's support behind the Democratic General Wilhelm Tesch in the hopes of forming a coalition between them and the Democratic Faction. PM Thorsson cited the Tesch only leadership was reason enough to support them in the hopes of establishing a stable democracy and forming a coalition against he Nationalists, Communists, and Monarchists. Air strikes from Kathia continue to rain down on the Monarchist, Nationalist, and Communist held areas. Kathia has said it will not touch the Government held and Anarchist held areas, at least for now.

General Wilhelm Tesch of the FKG announced an official alliance with the Democratic leader Hermann Hoth. Together they will work against the Loyalist and the rest of their enemies. However, with the collapse of much of the FKG front line, it will take much time for his forces to be back in working order. Tesch did admit that nearly 40% of the former FKG military defected to Trochevs government.

Tesch then requested that military commanders from Kathmandue, Celibrae and NorCon come to Grothbord to help fill in gaps in the chain of command and help train his forces. Tesch is also widely known across Grothbord as being a military/strategic genius and Revter Trochev recently ordered airstrikes in the vicinity of where Tesch was, but failed to kill him.

Today, the SecDef of the Northern Commonwealth announced at a state sanctioned press briefing Operation PLUNGING GRIZZLY.

"This operation involves the united military of the NorCon to bring humanitarian aid and support to General Tesch in the hopes of restoring order to the country of Grothbord.



Our first phase of this operation is the seizing of the Loyalist held city of Kaiserstadt, dubbed Objective Maroon. Our main objectives are the seizing of the port facilities and international airport here, we will lay siege if we must, but we desire our operations in domestic Grothbord to be as bloodless as possible.

Phase Two is to link up and establish support and supply roles for the military factions, specifically the faction led by General Tesch. We plan to accomplish this by the seizure of Objectives Red and Yellow, with
Objective Orange being secondary.

Phase Three involves the execution of Objective Pink with the eventual establishment of a no fly zone (as shown over the light blue line) over the northern half of the country

Phase Four involves the re-establishment of Grothbordian government, which is the ultimate goal of our glorious Commonwealth.

Today Raškan President Maužević signed a bill allowing volunteers to fight for the loyalist faction in the Grothbordian civil war under President Trochev. Usually fighting for a foreign entity is illegal in Raška, but for reasons unknown to us, the President made an exception. He has not made a public comment on this matter.
The volunteer numbers are estimated to be between 500 and 800 people, we spoke to one of them beforehand and he had this to say;
"What happens if the government in Grothbord is overthrown? it shows that the west can just replace any government they want. No we can't let that happen, we will not let that happen".

Following a cease of construction operations in New Educandi after being ousted by the local government, the Mallaskan Marines previously commissioned to assist in the construction of Mallaskan naval and air facilities in New Educandi. Under orders to cease all construction activities, the combat engineers deployed with the 1st Expeditionary Fleet have spent the remainder of their time deconstructing the facilities and gearing up for a combat deployment with the time given. The 1st Expeditionary Fleet has since been stated to have had a "Major change in mission scope" following the events in Grothbord.

Representatives of the Ministry of Security have announced that the Marines have been reassigned to conducting combat operations in the official support of the FKG in Grothbord, assigned particularly for supporting logistics and repairing and building infrastructure to support FKG military operations in the region. Despite this, it has been announced that these forces are expected to see combat during the time and Commandant Richard Keller of the Mallaskan Marines has stated to the Marines in the order that "Every Mallaskan Marine is expected to do their duty in upholding democracy in Grothbord, and to build the foundations of democracy in the region and demolish the corrupt Trochev regime.", alluding to the possibility that these Mallaskan Marines will be involved in combative operations to seize key infrastructure as well.

Today, the Auroran Community officially released a statement describing the position of the Community and its members on the situation currently unfolding in Grothbord. As the nation of Grothbord is one of the largest neighbors of the AC, the Community has always been interested in friendly relations with the nation and the people of Grothbord. However, the recent events have proven that a dictatorship, no matter of how strong it is.. can never resist in front of the will of the people and their desire for freedom and democracy. As such, the Auroran Community considers that the nation that was known as Grothbord is now gone, and all the agreements between the Community, its member states, and Grothbord are as of now, null and void. From this moment onward, the sole priority of the Auroran Community will be to ensure the transition of Grothbord to a democratic regime that will truly represent the interest of its citizens, as peacefully as possible. As such, the Auroran Community officially declares that it will support the democratic faction in their fight against other factions. Temporary help might be given to other factions too, depending on the exact circumstances, but the goal of the AC is to gather all the factions that are open to a democratic regime to negotiate the creation of a provisional government. Just as the statement was released, Thracian military aircraft of the Imperial Aerial Legion have joined the forces of the Royal Kathic Air Force.

However, a new threat has risen. The Northern Commonwealth has announced that it will send military forces to Grothbord, in a large scale operation, hidden beneath claims of sending humanitarian help. The Auroran Community harshly criticizes this action from the NorCon. While the AC wishes for nothing more than friendly relations with the members of the NorCon, the member states of the Community will stay loyal to their policy of "Aurora for the Aurorans". It is the second time when the NorCon is trying to influence Auroran states under the disguise of helping them. Pay no heed to their claims of restoring order, the only purpose of the NorCon here is to invade Grothbord, destroy the factions that oppose them, with the objective of creating a puppet government that will serve their interests, ignoring the desires of the people.The Auroran Community will not accept this attempt of taking away the freedom of the people of Grothbord. As such, the Community is giving the NorCon an ultimatum. To withdraw all their forces before the operation starts. The Auroran Community will not accept the presence of any Commonwealth military forces in Aurora. Sending military forces into the territory of Grothbord will be treated as nothing less than an act of war. The member states of the Auroran Community hope that the member states of the Northern Commonwealth will be willing to stop this before it even begins. Once Operation Plunging Grizzly is aborted, the international community can enter negotiations with the factions of Grothbord in order to bring forward a democratically elected provisional government. But if the member states of the Northern Commonwealth refuse to listen to this ultimatum, the Auroran Community is ready to fight for the freedom of the Grothbordian people.

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that a naval task force lead by HMS Queen Victoria has departed northwards for Grothbord. The nuclear-powered attack carrier is expected to provide air support to the beleaguered FKG, supported by two smaller antisubmarine carriers: HMS Colossus and HMS Minotaur, and a host of landing platforms and escort vessels. Elements of 3 Commando and 16 Air Assault Brigade are said to be embarked.

Two more carrier groups lead by HMS Prince of Hibernae and HMS Queen Elizabeth are expected to follow.

Additionally, the Royal Fleet Auxiliary is said to be loading at least five roll-on, roll-off fast cargo vessels with military materiel.

In other news, Defence Secretary John Bunting is currently visiting the Northern Confederation for discussions regarding joint operations in support of the FKG.

After the NorCon assault on the second largest city in Grothbord, Kaiserstadt, the city has finally fallen in FKG hands. Of the nine thousand defenders, only one thousand survived. Historically, the capture of Kaiserstadt marks the end of the current regime, theorist speculate that loyalist forces will be severely demoralized by the capture of Kaiserstadt. Within the battle itself, the last pocket of resistance was in the palace "The Husgratin", as it is a major national symbol and is the palace where the first Emperor of Grothbord was crowned. Wilhelm Tesch is expected to relocate his headquarters to the city and is preparing for the next phase of the operation.

The Topsailian Military High Command ordered the military to fully mobilize for the first time since the 1980's today. Furthermore, the Topsailian Military's Alert Level (comparable to the DEFCON system, with 5 levels, 5 being the lowest and 1 being the highest) was set at 3, also the highest since it was set at 4 during the Minsmarian Missile Crisis of 1984. The change in the Alert Level came as President Willem van Dijk announced that Topzeil would be sending a 50,000-strong expeditionary force to Kathia. Van Dijk also denounced the NorCon intervention in Northern Grothbord, and in a statement he described it as "The NorCon trying to exert its imperialistic will on Aurora." He went on to say that "Aurora is for Aurorans, and any attempts by the NorCon or by the nations of Hijjma and Atlantica to intervene militarily in Grothbord will be viewed as an act of war."

Van Dijk also announced that a Topsailian fleet has been dispatched from Uspucht, a port in northern Topzeil. The fleet consists of a Vrijheid-class Carrier, three Friesland-class LPD's, one Topsail-class Support Ship, 6 Van de Garde-class destroyers, 4 Bevrijder-class frigates, and 2 Walrus-class Submarines. The fleet is also carrying 2,000 marines. The fleet is expected to reach Grothbord by Tuesday. The purpose of the fleet hasn't been stated, however it is likely to deter any non-Auroran naval activity near Grothbord's small northern coast.

Meanwhile, Topsailian airstrikes have continued against Communist targets in Grothbord. Airstrikes were also first launched today against Fascist and Loyalist targets. Topzeil has agreed to cooperate in limited fashion with the Military Junta after they signed an alliance with the Democrats, however almost all of Topsailian military aid is going to the Democratic Front at this time.

The establishment of the Wagenburg Assembly took place today at 8:00 when countless residents of the former monarchic capital poured into the town's public plaza, where anarchists from both Grothbord and Gatito officially signed the assembly into existence. Afterwards, the town residents voted on matters pertaining to rebuilding and recovery operations in the wake of the monarchist retreat.

Similar scenes could be found across the field-spotted landscape of southern Grothbord after anarchists plowed through monarchist territory. Celebrations of enormous degree took place between anarchist and democratic forces after they met in the furthest eastern extent of the former monarchist territory.

Bruno Bachmeier, elected representative of the anarchist faction, spoke at the Wagenburg Assembly, stating that "the retreat of the monarchists is a sudden yet pleasant victory for the people of Grothbord." Later, at a press conference with a delegate from Topzeil and a native Grothbordian democrat, he stated that "our northern border remains dangerous; many of the monarchists fled into fascist territory after we swept them out of Wagenburg. Although they still control a sizable amount of land to the direct north of us, we have seen more fascist activity, and we must be ever-vigilant to defend ourselves.

Bachmeier also mentioned that the anarchists will be sending soldiers to help in the democratic-lead front against the fascists to the north of their southeastern front. They will also continue assistance in launching operations against the communist forces surrounding the democrats' far-western enclave.

The Black Army Press Office in Gatito later stated that the Black Army welcomes the arrival of the Topzeil fleet in the far north of the country.

The Kathic Army launched an offensive against Fascist and Government territory that was enclaved in Democratic held areas today in conjunction with Topsailian Military Units. Many cite this as the beginning of the end for the Fascist forces, and possibly the final nail in the coffin for Trochev. Levaux tanks and APCs could been seen advancing in various areas of Grothbord. There was some minor fighting in some areas, but as of now no major fighting and heavy casualties have occured. It has yet to be seen how well and formiddable the Fascist forces will be against the professional Kathic Army.

Kathic Army generals were pleased to hear the Anarchist forces had captured the the Monarchist Capital, thereby eliminating another faction from the civil war almost entirely. Kathia has also commenced airstrikes against Communist held areas in the West to help them from controlling Democratic Enclaves there from missile silos located in the mountains of northern Kathia. It was also announced that even more aid will be sent to the Democratic Coalition and the Military forces, most of the that supplies be transported by plane and truck.

While Kathic and Anarchist troops pushed into Fascist and Monarchist territory, Topsailian forces pushed deep into Communist-held western Grothbord. Four divisions of troops, numbering at around 40,000 men, advanced through communist territory, while a fifth division of about 10,000 men worked in conjunction with Kathic forces against Fascist and Government forces in central Grothbord. The Topsailian Air Force worked in conjunction with the Kathic Army and Anarchist and Democratic Forces in the offensive, striking Communist, Fascist, Monarchist, and Government targets. The ground war is looking bright for the Democratic coalition.

Meanwhile, the Topsailian Fleet arrived off of Grothbord's northern coast. F-20N Seahawks, launched from the TNS Vrijheid, bombed government targets along the coast in Northern Grothbord. An amphibious operation against the government exclave in Northern Grothbord has been rumored, however it is unsure as if it will happen as of now.

At noon today, it was announced that the last of the NU forces had surrendered to a coalition of Kathic lead forces along with Topsail and the Democratic Coalition. This came after full assault on their territory last week, and Fascist forces proved to be no match for the professional Kathic army. Under the terms applied, all men and women fighting for the NU forces were to lay down arms and surrender to Kathic forces, this happned with little incident. NU forces took to guerrilla combat as Kathic forces moved through, and had some early success in hampering supply lines. However as time went on their ability to do to wage war slowed and they eventually went into a full retreat. Fierce fighting took place around the capital, Veshnilov, for 3 days before Kathic foces were able to fully surround the city forcing the garrison to surrender. It took another day before an agreement was reached and a cease fire was set in place. And today the NU formally surrendered.

Many see this as the final push for the Pro-Democracy Coalition, with the last major opposition forces being the communists, many see that the future of Grothbord will be for that of Democracy. Coalition Forces have also taken land from Pro-Government Forces, and have also lost some land to the ill defended border with the communists who took a last minute grab at NU held territory.

Premier Veljko Maužević has given the order for a larger presence of anti-air defences to be deployed to Raska's western islands, in response to foreign intervention in the Grothbordian civil war. When equipped with a 40N6 missile, the S-400 is capible of destroying targets from up to a maximum of 400 kilometers away at a speed of 4,800 meters per second (mach 14). This gives any potential enemies a serious deterrent they violate Raskan airspace.

At 05:30 Standard Veranium Time, less than two hours after the violation of the territory of the Empire of Thrace by forces of the Thynian Democratic Republic, the Imperial Aerial Legion responded with a full scale air attack against the enemy. The Imperial High Command ordered the beginning of the first stage of Operation Case Red, Stage Scarlet, a full air operation against the Thynian forces. Unable to stop the larger and more technologically advanced Air Legion, the Thynian People's Air Force was soon forced to withdraw, firstly in their own airspace, before they were pushed even further. After air superiority was reached in the area around the Istrio river and southern Thynia, a full air interdiction operation began, with bombing raids being organized against Thynian command centers, depots, assembly points, and all Thynian forces moving towards the Istrio, effectively stopping their ability to send reinforcements to the front, while also destroying their main crossing point over the river, in the area of Virgepolis. At the same time, the Aerial Legion organized a campaign of SEAD, effectively being able to suppress and destroy most Thynian air defenses and sufrace-to-air missiles. Specialized units of the A.L. in cooperation with other branches of the military also began to actively jam the communications of the Thynian forces, by using electronic warfare aircraft. By 12:00, the forces of the Thynian People's Armed Forces were in disarray.

While the battle was being fought in the air, the Imperial Army did not just stand and watch, beginning Stage Crimson at 06:30 in the morning. Units of the Imperial Northern Army Group were sent to reinforce the ground units that were defending Imperial territory against the enemy ground forces. The overwhelming numbers and technological superiority of the Thracian forces was more than enough to bring the advantage to the Imperial side, but as the air battle was going on, the Thynian forces lost, one by one, their ability to receive reinforcements and supplies, and their ability to properly communicate and to coordinate their forces. The enemy offensive and ability to maneuver were also constricted by aircraft and artillery deployed minefields. By 8:00, the enemy assault was stopped before it could reach the city of Virgepolis, which was evacuated earlier in the morning. After the Thynians lost their offensive moment, Stage Amaranth began, as the Thracian forces started their preparations for the counterattack. Theatre ballistic missiles were deployed, with both conventional and smart warheads, and artillery units of the Imperial Army, with both tube and rocket artillery, weakened the improvised enemy defense. By 12:00, in disarray, the Thynian forces started a chaotic retreat towards the Istrio river, and Stage Vermilion marked the beginning of the Thracian counter-offensive. Units of the Imperial Northern Army Group, including mechanized and armored units, supported by artillery and air units and missile attacks, launched an offensive on the entire frontline. By 14:00, Thracian units managed to flank the Thynian forces by attacking on the line formed by the Istrian coast, and by 14:30, the remaining Thynian forces were encircled, completely cut-off from their homeland.

At 15:00, the Imperial Navy began Stage Ruby, as Thracian warships in the Sea of Thrace launched cruise missiles deep into Thynian territory, including the Thynian capital city of Cadentigrad. By 16:00, the commander of the Thynian forces in Thrace signed the document of surrender, and by 17:00, negotiations started between the Imperial and the Thynian Governments. At 20:00, an armistice was officially announced throughout the borderlands of both nations. Case Red was over.

A commission to run a referendum for an entirely seperate Educandi from Celitannia has got permission from the Consuls and Uxbridge in the mother country, a revelation that excites many in Port-of-Merchants and throughout the islands. There have been independence groups in one form or another since the 16th century, when the ancient Privy Court invited Celitannia to colonize following the Great Collapse.

This time, however, the issue of independence does not carry as much gravity as in the centuries prior. Educandi is almost entirely self-sovereign, and only tied to Celitannia in two ways; name and the Prince, and the much more important way: militarily. Presently, every coast guard and navy ship anchored in the Islands are the property of her Majesties military, as the division of Educan troops spread throughout the colonies.

Aside from names, though, not much is likely to change in the instance of independence; in reality, those ships are under the command of the Secretary of the State.

If independence wins, then the Prince of Educandi would become, for the first time in over 500 years, King. The ancient corronet, which was made for the Duke of Aosta, then Crown of the Islands, then Coronet again, is the only surviving crown jewel. A coronation would happen this summer, with new modern crown jewels.

Military Conflict in Tiandao-Daihan Border: "Largest since 1989"

The Department of Defense announced this morning that a military skirmish - between the Greater Eastern Union Army and the Republic of Daihan Armed Forces - occurred in the fenced borders of the long-disputed Haidong Territories north of Beihai Province, while also condemning the Daihanese attempt to breach the consented borders between the two nations. Lasting for around 3 hours, both forces have temporarily ceased fire as of 1100 Chenhai Standard Time, it has been reported that tensions remain high in the border area, with the Greater Eastern Union Army Northeastern Command (GEUA-NEC) repositioning units toward the front and increasing combat readiness throughout the theater.

At 0438 Chenhai Standard Time, the 344th Infantry Battalion, stationed in Zone IV of the fenced border between Tiandao and Daihan, received reports from a company of recon units just east of the fenced border, reporting the discovery of armed Daihanese troops in breach of the consented border between the two nations. Survivors of the company claimed that they attempted to persuade the Daihanese forces to return to their side of the borders, but by 0440, some shots were fired between the two forces. As the recon platoon retreated towards the Tianese side of the fence, rocket-propelled grenades were fired from the seemingly advancing Daihanese troops, killing most of the retreating forces.

By 0450, the 334th Infantry Battalion, the nearest battalion stationed in the area, commenced retaliation against the Daihanese forces; after identifying forces beyond the border fence, battles ensued as Tianese forces further identified Daihanese units heading west. While calling for other battalions under the brigade for support, the 344th Infantry Battalion suppressed the advancing Daihanese forces, resulting in the temporary retreat of Daihanese units. Mortar fire and rockets were exchanged until the next hour, confirming at least 21 dead and 30 wounded among the Greater Eastern Union Army.

In 0600, the Department of Defense clarified the occurrence of such military skirmish in Zone IV, while demanding that the Republic of Daihan apologize for the provocation of the skirmish and losses of Tianese troops in the battle. Simultaneously, the GEUA-NEC cleared permission for further retaliations to be carried out by the 31st Infantry Brigade; upon the command, the 31st Infantry Brigade fired towed howitzers against hardened Daihanese positions beyond the fenced border, while leading an offensive by infantry units further to the border. The infantry offensive came to a halt after the 344th Infantry Battalion occupied two Daihanese improvised Guard Posts (GP), illegitimately established around 200 meters southwest of the consented border.

While some are declaring this military conflict in the Tiandao-Daihan border as the 'largest since 1989' - reminding of the Battle of South Haidong, which resulted in two divisions being deployed near the border, eventually ending in an armistice - the Department of Defense has raised the readiness level of all military units under the GEUA-NEC to BATCON 3. Some have even claimed to have seen Greater Eastern Union Air Force fighters near the northern border taking off heading closer to the disputed Haidong Territories, although the Department of Defense have denied of such.

Haidong Territories Crisis: Premier Condemns Daihanese Government, Places Economic Sanctions, Battle Resumes in Border Zones

Premier Liu Quan today condemned the Daihanese Government in his address regarding the situation in the Haidong Territories, a long-disputed area currently occupied by Daihan, declaring the Daihanese breach of the consented border and subsequent military actions "an act of war" and calling for economic sanctions against Daihanese products internationally. Although there is debate about the speculations for the 'unprecedentedly powerful' response from the Premier, many are consenting that the Premier was not going to let the situation pass in the favor of Daihan. Below are some of the excerpts from his speech from Zhongwu Palace this morning:

"On behalf the Government of the Greater Eastern Union, I hereby declare that the Greater Eastern Union will not simply stand down against an act of war; we will retaliate with unprecedentedly powerful means to topple the might of our foes to threaten the interest of this nation upon which we stand. We will protect our ... (omission) ... and as Premier of the Greater Eastern Union, I hereby call for the placement of sanctions imposed by the Greater Eastern Union against military, military-associated and further specified products and services originating from and bound for Daihan, and request that the international community cooperates with the Greater Eastern Union in its movement for international justice."

Shortly after the speech, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade clarified the Tianese sanctions against Daihan, prohibiting the access of military and military-associated products and services originating from and bound to Daihan, while restricting Daihanese businesses and trade contracts in Tiandao. Bank accounts within banks of Tianese origin owned or managed by the Daihanese were also frozen to cease the flow of capital from Tiandao to Daihan. Acknowledging that Tiandao remains one of the largest trading partners of Daihan, such economic sanctions are expected to have a considerable impact on Daihan and its government.

Ownership over the Haidong Territories (Daihanese: Jinhae Territories) has been a source of dispute between the two respective states since the late 19th century, shortly after the establishment of the Republic of Daihan: traditionally under the control of numerous dynasties in northern Tiandao, the Republic of Daihan seized the territories during the Tianese Civil War following the Battle of Goksan Hill. Although it fell under Tianese hands following its victory in World War 1, the territories were returned to the Republic of Daihan after a series of treaties following World War 2. In 1966, the Greater Eastern Union Army occupied the western half of the disputed Haidong Territories in the short-lived Haidong Wars, although such territories were recaptured by the Daihanese in the Haidong Crisis of 1989.

Meanwhile, following such economic sanctions, it has been reported that battles have resumed in the fenced border zones in Haidong Province, amid raised alert levels: infantry troops from both sides, receiving artillery support and enemy fire, continued skirmishes throughout the respective border zones, although neither had succeeded in capturing the other's defenses. The Greater Eastern Union Army has reported around 26 dead and 37 wounded, mostly by artillery fire from Daihanese forces. While battles have continued, the Greater Eastern Union Army has warned for a "full-scale retaliation against Daihanese forces unless they back off", in accordance to the Premier's doctrine today.

First Mortars of the Season Enter Chrysalises, soon to be Howitzers

In a stunning display of nature's ingenious design, many of the mortars from 3-4 Mortars have began forming chrysalises as they begin metamorphosis - the process by which a mortar, fully grown at around 120mm, transforms into a much larger 105mm howitzer. This welcome news comes in advance of the projected date for the change. A new battery of 81mm mortars, finally old enough to start learning how to actually be artillery,
will be brought in to the old platoon as the Northern Confederation Artillery Corps' 2nd Artillery Regiment makes room to accept its newest members. Hopefully, in only a couple months, we'll see a fresh, young battery of 105mm howitzers!

In other news, after infighting broke out between the CV90s and Leopard C3s, the two have been separated until a proper arrangement can be made. No word yet if any of either party has been injured, although it appears that the only damage done was to the egos of both parties.

In conjunction with Defiance Industries R&D Departments, the Naval Research Bureau of the Northern Commonwealth announces the successful activation of the worlds first large scale naval rail-gun.

Salvo fire was achieved with about 5 to 7 seconds between each shot, with no malfunctions.

The navy plans to implement this weapon system into a new class of destroyer rolling out of dry dock starting next year, first hull number being DDNX-100.
