It is unknown at this time whether or not the captors were aware of these declarations made under duress. In a show of solidarity and determination, the Blood God of Nanmaunaktuk defied his enemies until the very end, and is without a doubt, an hero to us all.

Hoping to improve international coordination and seize upon the success of last year's exercise Frozen Inferno, the large-scale live-fire ranges will again be conducted with augmenting Mapleston Armed Forces. This is hoped to strengthen the bond between the two nations, as well as familiarize all parties with the difficulties of operations in arctic conditions. This year's exercise Frozen Inferno 1702 is expected to verify the high-readiness state of several battalions hoping to win a slot for deployment in the coming months, thus leaving the stakes high for all participants.

MAPLEVILLE - More than four decades after the October Crisis, the Front de libération du Gasmont has resurfaced again when it embarked on a surprise raid of Mapleville, something quite unprecedented in the military history of the country. The raid started at two in the morning when several terrorists blew up the Deschênes Hydroelectric Station, cutting off power in a large area of the city. Gunshots were then exchanged between the FLG and the Sûreté du Gaspé as the rebels stormed the Queen Amelia Bridge from the Deschênes side. The SG reported two officers killed, eight wounded and a destroyed patrol car before it was forced to withdraw.

Panic then ensued across the city as the main force rushed to Parliament Hill. A large gunfight ensued as the rebels attempted to capture Centre Block, which was guarded by the Grenadier Guards and elements of the RMPC. The FLG was seen using an assortment of captured Maplestonian weapons and several firearms of Raventsvan origin, such as the KV-59 and the BAV-70. The Centre Block suffered light damage as windowpanes and doors were riddled with bullets and rocket-propelled grenades. However, the FLG failed to capture Parliament Hill and was forced to withdraw to the Queen Amelia Bridge when Leopard tanks of the Royal Mapledale Dragoon Guards arrived at approximately eight in the morning. The Grenadiers reported eight dead and twenty wounded, while the RMPC figures show one dead and five wounded, tallying up to about nine dead and 25 wounded for the defence of the Hill.

The Queen, upon receiving information about the raid, was evacuated via an Army helicopter and transported to an undisclosed location. Other members of the Royal Family are reported to be accompanying the Queen. The Prince of Avalon was evacuated to a ship at sea. So far, no information can be gleaned upon the status of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.

While the majority of the FLG were locked in a stalemate in Parliament Hill, the rest of the raiding force, composed of the usual Gasmontien and several Thynian mercenaries, headed up to the Thracian Embassy and shot two RMPC guards stationed in front of the embassy. Eyewitness reports and CCTV footage show that the Thynians destroyed the gate of the Embassy and attempted to storm inside, killing a Thracian clerk and setting the building alight using Molotov cocktails. The Thracians, however, managed to hold off the Thynians before a platoon of the Maplestonian Special Air Service arrived to relieve the beleaguered staff. The MSAS reports no one killed and one wounded, while the Embassy suffered moderate damage from the fire.

The raid ended approximately noon, when the FLG withdrew from the Queen Amelia Bridge and headed towards Deschênes on the other side of the Mapleville River. Another firefight occurred when the SG intercepted a group of retreating FLG terrorists. The firefight was described as intense and the SQ was able to confirm three FLG killed while the SG suffered no dead and three wounded. A massive manhunt is now underway as the Army, the RMPC and the SG comb large parts of Mapleville and Gaspé for any remaining FLG rebels. The Government strongly advises that any information pertaining to the FLG be directed to the nearest RMPC or SG station, or to the Hexagon.

Imperial Legation in Mapleville attacked!

During a terrorist attack on the capital of Mapleston, a paramilitary communist group, known as the Front de libération du Gasmont, supported by several mercenaries with confirmed Thynian origins, attacked the Imperial Legation in Mapleville (Legatia Imperiala din Mapleville), killing the two RPMC guards that were stationed in front of the entrance of the Legation. The terrorists destroyed the gate of the Legation, and attempted to storm it, killing Cleon Vaniran, a clerk of the embassy, an employee of the Imperial Logothetia of Foreign Affairs, that tried to defend one of his coworkers as the terrorists stormed in. As the Thracians in the building were safely escorted to a back room by two Imperial Guards from the Legation Security Group of the Imperial Thracian Guards, the Thracian soldiers defending the embassy, and although clearly outnumbered, the soldiers managed to keep the terrorists away, until when a platoon of the Maplestonian Special Air Service arrived to relieve the Legation. The building of the Legation was moderately damaged, and except from the death of Cleon Vaniran, only a few other people from the staff of the Legation have been wounded. The Imperial Legate in Mapleston was in the embassy at the time, but she escaped the incident untouched, and measures have been taken to further ensure her safety and the safety of the entire staff. The Imperial Logothetia of Foreign Affairs is actively cooperating with the Maplestonian Government to ensure that no such incident will ever happen again. The body of Cleon Vaniran will be returned to Veranium as soon as possible, where he will be buried with military honors. His Imperial Majesty has decided to award him the Star of the Dawn, Fist Class, posthumously.

In a public statement, the Imperial Government has firmly declared its commitment to fighting terrorism wherever it might appear, and as such, the FLG has been publicly denounced by the Empire of Thrace. The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Logothetia for the Safety of the Empire has apparently been ordered to cooperate with the foreign and domestic intelligence services of Mapleston in order to discover possible connections between the FLG and the so called Thracian Democratic Republic. However, this incident has already led to a sharp rise in tensions between the Empire of Thrace and the Thracian Democratic Republic, despite the reduction of tensions that had happened during the winter, when the Empire of Thrace has agreed to be the intermediary between the nations that sent supplies and energy, and Thynia, which had sent out an emergency energy request due to the failure of its energy supplies and generators, in the middle of one of the most brutal winters in recent memory. This rise in tensions will however possibly lead to more sanctions against Thynia, and it would seem that the Imperial Armed Forces are preparing to mobilize more forces on the border between the Empire and the so called Democratic Republic. More will be announced during a press conference that will be held by the Imperial Chancellor, tomorrow evening. What will happen remains to be seen.

The Department of Defense has announced that the annual 'Divine Warrior' (神聖戰士) live-fire exercises - one of the largest annual military exercises carried out by the Greater Eastern Union Defense Forces (GEUDEF) - have commenced today in Fort Zhen and vicinity at Beihai Province. While stating that around 170,000 personnel, 120,000 of which are from the Army, are forecasted to take part in the drill, it has also clarified that the exercises will have a greater focus on multi-dimensional and network-centric warfare as well as combat maneuvers, unlike the previous year, which had a greater emphasis on support delivery and maneuvering in times of war.

The first day of the 'Divine Warrior' exercises commenced with drills in armored warfare, where the Sixth Division - one of the most prestigious armored divisions in the nation - went into combat against enemy formations considerably greater than its own and in a number of pressured situations, such as disadvantages in terrain. The day's battle drills, consisting of an hypothetical enemy offensive from the northwest, had resulted in the Sixth Division proving the significance of support assets and efficient maneuvering of forces via network-centric warfare. Attacks carried out by both friendly and air assets were practiced, although to a lesser degree.

The exercise is set to continue with further live-fire drills consisting of both offensive and defensive scenarios for the troops involved. The three-week exercise is set to make the job of familiarizing operation in warfare and pressured conditions easier for the troops involved.

MAPLEVILLE - After the raid on Mapleville conducted by the Front de libération du Gasmont, in concert with the Moseica Confederacy, the Prime Minister, has declared the full mobilisation of the Maplestonian Forces, effective immediately. This was declared by the Prime Minister after a meeting with Her Majesty, who was in Lafonia today. The Prime Minister has also condemned the Moseica Confederacy for breaking the Armistice of Hayton, which was signed in 1974 after the Moseica War, and the FLG for waging war against the Crown and falling, as he said, to the siren call of communism and violence. Fouché then later visited the Grenadier Guards in Fort Mapleville. The visit was described as a morale-booster for the men and women of the Forces, and the Prime Minister has pledged to bring to justice those who planned and executed the Raid, whether it be FLG or Moseica.

As of now, all servicemen and women of the Maplestonian Forces currently on leave are ordered to report to their respective units immediately, while Force Rainbow units are now on heightened alert. Ships of the Royal Mapleston Navy are now on manoeuvres along the Strait of Nares to deter any possible offensive actions from the Confederacy, or from any external power wishing to support the Moseica. For its part, the Royal Mapleston Air Force shall be enforcing an Air Defence Identification Zone along a corridor stretching along the Strait of Nares, at the soonest possible moment. According to the Chief of the Air Staff, Sir Jonathan Norman, the purpose of the ADIZ will be to screen all incoming aircraft to Mapleston via the Strait of Nares and at the same time, to prevent more Thynian mercenaries from getting to Terra Incognita. Meanwhile, elements of the Maplestonian Army, including the 2^e division d'infanterie are now on active duty, trying to intercept the FLG and the Moseica as they flee towards the northern border, with help from the Royal Mapleston Police Corps and the Sûreté du Gaspé.

The Prime Minister has tendered his apologies to the Government of Thrace for the burning of the Thracian Embassy in Mapleville, and for the death of Cleon Vaniran, a Thracian clerk who was shot by Thynian mercenaries. The Maplestonian Army has deployed a platoon of the Grenadiers to the Embassy to safeguard it against further attack either from the FLG, or from the Thynians. Meanwhile, the External Affairs Secretary, Alexander Mason, will journey to Thrace to meet with his counterparts to discuss matters of "grave importance" for both countries. The Royal Mapleston Intelligence Agency and the Royal Mapleston Security Service (RMSS) are now cooperating with the Foreign Intelligence Service of Thrace to discover any relationship between the FLG and Thynia and to locate the base of the FLG within the Moseica Confederacy. The Prime Minister has also announced that a declaration of war against the Moseica has been forwarded to Her Majesty for her Royal Assent.

UPSALSQUITCH - The Royal Mapleston Air Force, in conjunction with carrier planes of the Royal Mapleston Navy, and ships of the Maplestonian Coast Guard, has begun to enforce an Air Defence Identification Zone over the Strait of Nares, and the large, uninhabited island of Aimagvik, to the north-east of Mapleston. The ADIZ was created by the Air Force, according to Air Chief Marshal Sir Jonathan Norman, in order to intercept and screen all incoming aircraft to Maplestonian airspace, and also to halt the clandestine airlift operations done by the FLG in order to bring Thynian mercenaries, and arms to the Moseica Confederacy and to FLG-held areas in the Terra Incognita. So far, RMAAF planes are now busy enforcing the ADIZ, with squadrons all over Saskaweg, Beaumont and the North West Territories actively participating in the endeavour, code-named Operation Quaker.

So far, there has been no reported hostile contacts, and besides the normal airliner, nothing out of the ordinary has been encountered yet, according to the latest press release of the Air Force yesterday. The Air Force advises all aircraft who will enter Maplestonian airspace via the Strait of Nares to cooperate and to take all measures to properly identify themselves, and to avoid any "unwanted incidents". Meanwhile, civilian air traffic controllers in Saskaweg, the North West Territories and Labrador have been briefed by the Air Force and Navy about their part in Operation Quaker yesterday morning, with the Air Chief Marshal in attendance to answer enquiries about the operation. However, the Secretary of National Defence, Sir Georges Schoendoerffer, was reputed to order the Air Chief Marshal to avoid, at all costs, a repeat of the Dufferin Bay incident last year, in which, a radar station gave false readings and reported a UFO hovering above Dufferin Bay, Labrador.

At 0400, Standard Thracian Time, tensions were high on both banks of the Istrio River. After the terrorist attack on the Imperial Legation in Mapleville, the Empire of Thrace officially accused the so called Thracian Democratic Republic of having helped those terrorists, a grave accusation in international diplomacy. The press conference of the Imperial Government also contained several threats, in accordance with the usual foreign policy of the Empire of Thrace, that has never tolerated aggressive actions from the so called Thracian Democratic Republic. The reply of the Thracian Democratic Government was even more violent, only serving at escallating the situation. The relations between the two states have always been tense, as both nations theoretically do not recognize the existence of the other, and both nations claim the territory of the other, also claiming to be the only successor of the Thracian state that broke apart in 1944. Nevertheless, practically, both nations obviously exist, and they share a common border, of the Istrio River. A border that had been set on this geographic obstacle way back in 1948, after the end of the War of Transition, and ever since then, both nations have build powerful military installations on their respective side of the river. Even if the armistice that ended the War of Transition designed that area as a Demilitarized Zone, it can be easily said that the area around the river Istrio is one of the most militarized areas in the world. And whenever tensions rise, small altercations were to be expected. But on the 26th of March, 2017, the situation quickly spiraled out of control.

At around 0420, units from the 265th Border Guards Battalion of the Imperial Army reported suspicious moves on the other side of the river. At 0425, units of the same battalion reported a skirmish in the area of Virgepolis, being under attack by unknown forces, after a small force had infiltrated the Imperial side of the river. At 0430 STT, the border guards officially confirmed the violation of the territory of the Empire of Thrace by units of the so called Thracian People's Army, informing the Imperial High Command of the Northern Theater. Minutes later, it became clear that this wasn't any of the usual covert operations that the Thynians sometimes tried to do, but that it was a full attempt at forcing a crossing of the river. The Northern High Command replied promptly, with the 4th and 9th Cataphract Divisions being sent to reinforce the units in the area of Virgepolis, where the Imperial units engaged the enemy forces in a full battle. The military intelligence reported movement for multiple large sized Thynian forces on the other side of the border, and all Imperial forces in the area were put in high alert. At 04:35, it was confirmed that the Thynian forces were trying to create a bridgehead on Imperial territory. A full response was ordered, and for the first time in decades, artillery units on both sides of the Istrio opened fire, with a vicious artillery duel taking place. Air units of both nations crossed into the territory of the other, and all armed forces were put on maximal alert. At 04:45, the Chancellery in Veranium officially declared a state of war.

After the terrorist attack in Mapleville ten days ago, the Kaiser has declared the immediate deployment of German troops to Mapleston. The Kaiser has justified the deployment to the country amid doubts from several retired generals of the Heer, stating that the terrorist attack may be repeated, and that it is considered prudent that Mapleston gets some sort of support from its ally. The Kaiser has ordered the deployment to honor the treaty of alliance with Mapleston, which was enacted in 1991 and to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK), or the Special Forces Command of the Heer, has been given the task of deploying to Mapleston to prevent any kind of attack from the Moseica Confederacy, who was in league with the Front de libération du Gasmont, a paramilitary Communist group which attacked Mapleville. The 1. Kommandobrigade (Kaiser Wilhelm's) and the 3. Kommandobrigade (Lewinski) has been selected for immediate relocation to Fort Mapleville and shall be attached to the Maplestonian 1st Infantry Division. The Kaiser has also revealed that Lothar Eugen Otto, the commander of the Heer, will also go to Mapleston in an advisory role to the Maplestonian forces.

The deployment of the KSK is also seen by senior Wehrmacht officials to be a preparation for the upcoming exercises of Mansteinburg and Mapleston. The upcoming exercise will be named Cold Steel and by the blessing of Kaiser Wilhelm II, German troops are allowed to join this exercise in northern Mapleston.

MAPLEVILLE - Earlier today in Rideau Hall, Her Majesty the Queen, invoking the use of the Royal Prerogative, has issued a Proclamation which brings into immediate effect, a state of war against the Moseica Confederacy. The draft of the Proclamation has been sent to Her Majesty three days ago, and it is only at noon today, that Her Majesty has approved the declaration of war. The declaration of war has been issued by Her Majesty in light of recent acts of violence directed against the country by the Moseica Confederacy, specifically, the use of Moseica territory to shelter the FLG, which is forbidden under the Armistice of Hayton, and the participation of Moseica braves in the Mapleville Raid.

The Prime Minister, in a speech made the night before the Proclamation, has invoked the War Measures Act, 1910 (6 Edw. c. 2) to ensure the "Defence of Mapleston" from all external and internal threats, and reiterated that the invocation of the Act has been made with the approval of both houses of Parliament. Fouché has also summoned an emergency session of Parliament to implement a series of emergency measures, labelled as the Measures for the Defence of Mapleston. The nature of the proposed measures are yet to be known, but according to the Minister of Public Safety, censorship and the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus are very likely to be included in the Measures.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has pledged military aid to Thrace after it was attacked by Thynian forces at Virgepolis, along the Istrio River. An expeditionary force should be expected to be sent to Thrace at the "soonest possible moment." This force shall consist of units from the 16^ème Division d'infanterie, several ships, and a squadron of F-34 Typhoon fighter jets. However, he clarified that the expeditionary force will not engage in combat and will act as a deterrent against any attempts at escalating the state of war between Thrace and Thynia. However, he leaves open the option of joining forces with Thrace against Thynia, if the situation requires it.

The First Sea Lord, Admiral Albert Bell, has announced that ships of the Royal Mapleston Navy are now preparing to put to sea at the soonest possible moment and that the Navy will cooperate with the Air Force to implement the Strait of Nares ADIZ. The Secretary of National Defence, Sir Goerges Schoendoerffer, has hinted at the possibility of re-instating Imperial Service for all able-bodied men between the ages of eighteen and thirty-five. Imperial Servicemen were last used to bolster the Forces in 2000, when it was suspended by the then-Prime Minister Christopher Miller. The Secretary has reminded the people that while suspended, Imperial Service was never abolished and that qualified men should, by law, register for Imperial Service, and those hoping to be exempted should head to the nearest Imperial Service Tribunal immediately.

In response to turbulent international situations in nations facing the Allonian Ocean and threats of war in Aurora, the Greater Eastern Union Navy has announced that a part of its Fifth Fleet - including the U.N.S. Li Shan, one of the five 100,000-ton Li Shan-class aircraft carriers in the Navy's service - will be dispatched to the North Allonian Ocean to show support for Tianese allies in the region. Specifying that the fleet would remain in the North Allonian Ocean for at least a month-long period "unless the situation escalates", the Navy has expressed its will to contribute to the "security of strategic Tianese allies in both sides of the North Allonian Ocean".

In addition to the announcement today, the Department of Defense has stated that the Greater Eastern Union "will play its role in assisting the security of strategic Tianese allies, Auroran or not", clarifying the necessity for the dispatching of such forces. Denouncing the Moseica Confederacy and Thynia as "illegitimate regimes", it has stated that the Greater Eastern Union "will do what it takes to stand along its allies". Premier Liu Quan has seconded such motion from the Department of Defense, giving support to such movement.

The portion of the Fifth Fleet dispatched to the North Allonian Ocean is said to consist of the U.N.S. Li Shan, at least three Shen Lien-Class Destroyers, four Dadao-class frigates at least two nuclear-powered submarines and supporting forces. Currently sailing northwest from the South Allonian Ocean, the bulk of the Fleet is estimated to reach the North Allonian Ocean within five days; other information apart from this, however, has not yet been confirmed by the Department of Defense.

President Mohabir is the son of the known Mohammad Mohabir, current Chairman of the Board of the international conglomerate "Mohabir Organisation", which spans a wide variety of industries including real estate, construction, hospitality, entertainment, book and magazine publishing, media, model management, retail, financial services, board game development, food and beverages, business education, online travel, airlines, helicopter air services and beauty pageants. His sister Kamala Pawar is the current CEO of the Conglomerate, taking over her brother's position as his presidency began. At 43-yrs old, he is the youngest to assume the presidency, as well as the wealthiest and the first without prior military or government service. His political positions have been described by scholars and commentators as social democratic, Ghandian, and environmentalist.

Throughout his campaign, his support came mostly from the low-earning working classes and especially the casteless, whose current status in Ishrami are dreadful to say the least. We must embrace the principles of a universal welfare state."

Today President Mehmed Kundakçı authorised the arrest of 60 members of the Grand Assembly from the Erdam Cumhuriyetleri Birliği on a variety of charges from spreading propaganda to suspicion of treason against the Republic. It came as a shock to the party which has recently been battling falling popularity ratings after an attack on a Cafe killed 17 people in the nations cultural and financial hub of Oçzarja.

The Erdam Cumhuriyetleri Birliği accused the Halk Aşamalı Partisi of attempting to crush any opposition however members of the increasingly growing Liberal Demokrat Parti cheered the result as a victory against Ardamist extremism. There has also been talk of the Erdam Cumhuriyetleri Birliği being banned with the Supreme Court said to be reviewing a case launched by a group of 5,000 citizens who had reportedly had enough of the way the Erdam Cumhuriyetleri Birliği acts.

The leader of the Erdam Cumhuriyetleri Birliği has reportedly gone into hiding after the event and today in the Grand Assembly their MAs began to protests about the arrest in the middle of the session. Ishram is building 100 ‘smart cities’ in an ambitious plan to ease pressure on Ishram’s overcrowded urban environment.

In his February speech Ishrami President Nayaran Mohabir said: “Cities in the past were built on riverbanks. They are now built along highways.
“But in the future, they will be built based on availability of optical fibre networks and next-generation infrastructure.”

Not everyone agrees on a single definition of a ‘smart city’ – also known in security circles as Safe Cities – but it generally involves the harnessing of information communication technology to solve or alleviate social problems.

According to the latest study of MarketsandMarkets, ”the booming of Ishrami smart city projects is due to growing urban population, which is expected to reach around 295 million, creating pressure in the existing urban infrastructure.

“Such smart city projects will link all citizens, cities, government and many more with each other on a real-time basis. It will also focus on reducing carbon emission and [creating a] smooth flow of traffic in the urban cities. We can already anticipate the problems that these cities face and attack them at the source,” Rahul Sharma, an executive at Mohabir Organisation, told The Times of Ishram. “Ishram has a fantastic opportunity where we can work outside of the shackles of existing technology. With the growth in infrastructure, security and surveillance will move to the next juncture of critical importance and in the smart cities. Video surveillance will be used beyond monitoring, to gather intelligent data. The budget, therefore, should set aside substantial investment, for video surveillance solutions.”

Today official statistics from the Ministry of Internal Affaird have revealed that Cayir's fertility rate has hit an all time low of 2.41 births per woman. Some politicians have began to call this a birth crisis but the Government says this is far from the truth. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also projected that the fertility rate would grow as the government phased in new regulations regarding maternity leave and child benefits.

Following the release of the statistics the Ministry of the Internal Affairs released a statement. "Although this news may seem disappointing this is far from the whole story. The fertility rate is expected to pick up in the coming years however it is well known that in the 1990s the nation went through a birth rate boom and this saw the population explode dramatically. These children are now coming of the age to have their own children and as such we believe this will provide a much needed boost. This coupled with the governments new maternity plan in which hospital maternity wards will boost capacity, funding and staff along with the government offering to pay 15% of the pay towards a young woman's maternity salary. The Government is also bringing in new child benefits which will help families to raise their children comfortably and will encourage people to have more children because they will be able to afford. Many new homes are also being built to give young people a place to live and start a family and the government is working with companies to build new apartments where families may raise new children."

It seems that overall the situation will improve said many from the University of Işjtana's demographic team. "It all matters about the trend in the wages and employment. If young people have secure jobs with good pay then they can prepare to settle down and start a new family" said a professor at the university.

Kommandobrigade advance towards the Maplestonian lines in a simulated battle during the first day of Exercise Cold Steel today. This exercise is aimed at fostering cooperation among Mansteinburgian and Maplestonian troops and to hone their skills in arctic and forest warfare as well as rapid deployment. The Greater Eastern Union Navy's Fifth Fleet landed and docked last night in Port Isaac, its secondary homeport, in the southeastern coast of Celibrae. Although initial plans were for the fleet to circulate throughout the North Allonian Ocean for maritime patrol and 'showing force' amid international situations, the Navy has announced that such change was made due to "harsh and turbulent weather conditions south of the Elyrian Sea", leaving the Fifth Fleet with the option to return to Port Isaac.

Port Isaac, the Greater Eastern Union's largest military installation located in Aurora and facing the Allonian Ocean, became a Tianese base in 1989, following the Treaty of Uxbridge with the Celibraean Government. The Treaty of Uxbridge brought about a 60-year lease for a naval base - one in Tiandao, and another in Celibrae; the former became HMNB Hailoong, the only foreign naval installation in Tiandao, in Nanhai Province; the other became Port Isaac, formally known as GEUNS Port Isaac. Since the completion of Port Isaac in 1993, the Greater Eastern Union has positioned a bulk of its Fifth Fleet - informally called the "Allonian Fleet" by the Department of Defense - in the port, as a part of a show of Tianese military cooperation with Celibrae and the Triumvirate of Three (T3).

The Celibraean Royal Navy and the Topzeilan Navy will be taking part in joint military exercises over the next two weeks in the Educan Isles, with permission from the Secretary of the State and his Highness the Prince. The exercises will simulate combined anti-submarine warfare training, amphibious operations, and land attack missions. The operations will be conducted around Essex Island, the westernmost island in the Educan chain, which Topzeilan government sources state is "so as to not provoke Minsmar", but geostrategic analysts suggest that the exercises are being conducted with the Minsmar threat to Educan territorial integrity in mind.

Cayiri Air Force on high alert after rebels fire missiles at fighter jet

Today the President announced that the Cayiri Armed Forces, specifically the air force, would be on high alert following a missile attack on an F-19 fighter jet over Guzyet Province. The attack was suspected to be by radical Ardamist rebels who have been operating in the province since 2014. The Leader of the People's Progressive Party in the Grand National Assembly condemned the attack but some members of the opposition Ardamist Republican Union cheered the attackers and said they were "liberating" Cayir from the oppression of the HAP.

Following the attack the Cayiri Army announced it would be sending 2,500 troops to the area to hopefully stop the spread of the Ardamists.
The Air Force also bombed a target which was thought to be an Ardamist training camp. The local police in the area were also allocated an extra $700,000 in funding to investigate cases of kidnapping young women to marry fighters and also young men to be used as fighters however cases of this remain small.

The latest polls have shown a sharp decline in support for the Ardamist Republican Union as the latest Legislative election approaches fastly. Their slide in support could be due to the rise of Liberal Demokrat Parti. There is also a rise in support for the centrist Özgürlük ve Kalkınma Partisi who are taking votes from HAP and the ECB. Here we will give an overview of all the major players in this election cycle.

Halkın Aşamalı Partisi (People's Progressive Party) - The dominant party in Cayiri politics, since the 1990s the Halkın Aşamalı Partisi is centre-left and stands for progressive values. They have supported expanding welfare programs however they are also very pro-business and often have worked with businesses to get the best deal for the Cayiri economy.

Erdam Cumhuriyetleri Birliği (Ardamic Republican Union) - The main opposition party, they have formed a government once since their founding and are known for their support of Ardamist Democracy. A value in which all democratic decisions are based on the views of Ardamism. This view has only surfaced as a major belief of theirs within the past few years.

Liberal Demokrat Parti (Liberal Democratic Party) - The Liberal Demokrat Parti stand to protect Liberal Democracy. They have been a rising star in Cayiri politics for the past 2 years and their support has grown massively. Despite Liberal in their name some of their values are far from that. They are against the end of secularism however they also want strict immigration controls and give preferential treatment to Cayiri born people.

Özgürlük ve Kalkınma Partisi (Freedom and Development Party) - The Özgürlük ve Kalkınma Partisi are a party dedicated to the values of Cayiri secularity. They are also dedicated to continued funding in infrastructure, healthcare, education and the military. They are pro-business but want to have regulations to ensure that businesses do not get "too big to fail".

Today Cayiri's go to the polls in one of the most shocking election campaigns we have seen so far. With the collapse of the Ardamic Republican Union in the polls many have wondered who will take their spot and we can now see that answer is very clear. The Liberal Democratic Party, a party in favour of Liberal Democracy as their name suggests, has seen a huge surge taking votes from the Ardamic Republican Union and even some votes from the People's Progressive Party.

The voting is now over and some exit polls show the Freedom and Development Party ahead of the Ardamic Republican Union in turns of vote share. Polling in the suburbs of Adana, a traditionally ARU voting area show that the People's Progressive Party may have taken the top spot there. Earlier on Madame Vice President, Şukriye Barış, gave a speech saying that she thinks tonight could be a good night for her party but that she thinks they may still lose seats due to the election being more competitive this time around.

Well the votes have been counted and now the announcing in the constituencies has begun. In Işjtana, the bastion of the People's Progressive Party, there is expected to be 500,000 of their supporters waiting for the results.

Well the results are in and we can now release the results to you. Tonight has been unexpected but certainly damaging for the Ardamic Republican Union with a number of their key constituencies voting the other way. Tonight also seems to be a huge endorsement of the work that President Mehmed Kundakçı has been doing to help the people of Cayir.
