The Topsailian Frigate TNS Karl van Der Berg sailing through the cold and bleak North Allonian Ocean just to the west of Celibrae on the 26th.
The Topsailian Frigate TNS Karl van Der Berg is currently on patrol in the North Allonian Ocean as of January 27th. Accompanying it onboard are a team of eight TOI (Topsailian Oceanographic Institute) acoustic specialists hoping to find the source of the ominous rumble that was heard by a Topsailian submarine a little over a week ago. Initial analysis of "the rumble", as the media has dubbed it, has shown that it is not caused by ice or geological activity. The frigate will patrol the area between western Celibrae and Othelos for the next week before having to return to port, and the TOI scientists are trying to make their best use of their time. Another sound similar to the rumble has yet to be recorded, and in a press conference on Thursday Topsailian Naval press secretary Josef Roos stressed that the sound might have been a one-time thing. "We do not know at this point if this sound will ever be heard again. It could be very possible that it was just a one time event. The TOI crew currently aboard the van Der Berg will hopefully find something, however we cannot stress enough that they might not find anything." Roos's press conference was unexpectedly brief and he only answered several questions before leaving. The Navy claimed later in a statement that he was ill with the flu. We will update you if anything else happens in this naval investigation.
