Defense Announces Enhanced Capabilities in the North
Maska Addresses Ghastak - Outlines Measures Underway

Secretary of Defense and External Security General Eugene Maska described troop and equipment resource deployment in the Eitoan Occupation Zone of Free Ralkovia today at the invitation of Louis A. Herb, Chair of the Ghastak. The short address covered issues collateral to the Krasnovan dispute as seen earlier in that conflict, to wit, rumored Slekomanian assistance to the Ordenite Reich. Such assistance has been seen as stifled both by the early Golden Throne naval victories and partial mobilization in neutral Nuskjian, but concerns within President Shrdlu's cabinet have lingered since the initiation of the conflice, both with regard to the security of Eitoan Occupation Forces Ralkovia, and potential naval activity in the vicinity of Cape Pelwos.

Such concerns have flared up recently in the wake the palace coup in Morrdh, a co-occupying force in Free Ralkovia. Morridane caginess with respect to the Krasnova conflict has raised concerns among the High Command about the Morridane Occupation Zone being a conduit for Ordenite activities both in terms of recruiting of refugees loyal to the deposed Raskov dynasty to service in the Ordenite Reich, and fifth column activity within Free Ralkovia itself.

Secretary Maska informed the upper house that plans are underway, and preliminary site and logistical planning has commenced for a large scale deployment of forces to Eitoan Ralkovia, including the 5th and 12th Armies at full combat strength. Enhancements in the Eitoan Zone will also encompass unspecified upgrades to the Joint Military Intelligence Service's Northern Command, Integrated Sattelite and Ground Based Surveillance and Response Force (NORCOM-INTSAT/GBSRF).

He told the Ghastak "The objective of this deployment - the Northern Initiative, (Sverni Iniciatat) is to enhance Eitoan security by providing a credible offensive capability in the continental far north. All forces will be under the command of Major General Gates, the Commandant of Eitoan Occupation Forces Ralkovia (EOFR). To date EOFR has performed effectively in repelling probing moves from the Ralkovian Reich, but our involvement in Free Ralkovia demands a force, both land based and other clearly seen as capable of taking the initiative in the face of any threat approaching Free Ralkovia from a northerly direction. Commandant Gates has the full support of the Cabinet in providing facilities for this deployment, and we have enhanced his staff to support these new offensive capabilities. Initial basing of the troops will be centered in the vicinity of Belovo, where considerable infrastructure has been developed at this time. Over the next several months forward posts will be built where suitable in the Eitoan Zone, and where necessary in adjacent occupation zones. Commandant Gates reports that he has been in contact with the commandants of the other occupation zones in Free Ralkovia, and for the most part has secured their cooperation. Members of the Ghastak, I am aware of your concerns regarding the reliability of the commandant of the Morridane Zone, and I can assure you that Commandant Gates has been in contact with his counterpart there since the conception of this initiative. I ask at this time that you refer your questions about the sympathies of the Morridane authorities in Free Ralkovia to The Department of Foreign Affairs, and do so discreetly. This is a very delicate subject, even more so with the recent announcement from Cormond Castle. I can only repeat the official policy that the government recognizes Queen Lothwyn as the legitimate head of state in Morrdh, but there has not been any change in diplomatic relations with that nation since the coup by her uncle Viktor. Triumverate Planes Bomb Krasnova

Arcaenian bombers join massive Triumvirate air campaign intended to destroy Ordenite Lufwaffe in Krasnova

THULE - Thousands of warplanes from the major Triumverate powers have began their bombing campaign against the forces of the Ordenite Reich in Ordenite controlled Krasnova, fulfilling the first phase of the Triumverate operation aimed at liberating the region from Ordenite control. Dozens of Ordenite Luftwaffe Airbases and air-defense sites within Krasnova were attacked during the first phase of the operation by Triumverate bombers and cruise missiles in what Triumverate military planners are describing as a campaign to end Ordenite control of the air in the region and the relieve the Triumverate forces in the Satrapy currently under siege by multiple Ordenite offensives.

Over 2,000 sorties were flown from air bases on the Arcaenian mainland by Arcaenian Air Force long-range strategic bombers during the first 24 hours of the operation, dropping over 32,000 tonnes of bombs and other munitions on Ordenite targets including Luftwaffe air bases within the Krasnova region. Bombing has been around the clock with virtually every Triumverate strike aircraft in the region involved in the operation. The sustained air assault is expected to last for several weeks, the goals to eventually completely destroy the Ordenite Luftwaffe's ability to engage in air operations over the region and to facilitate the eventual Triumvirate invasion to liberate Krasnova from Ordenite control. The operation has also been supported by Triumverate naval forces who have launches several thousand cruise missiles ar Ordenite targets in Krasnova. Ordenite resistance to the attacks has been reported to be severe with reports of near-constant Luftwaffe air patrols and SAM launches in response to Triumverate air and missile strikes.

All Hail The Ard Righ

MORRDUN.- Viktor Cathmore the First has been proclaimed as the Ard Righ (High King) of the Commonwealth of Morrdh, the Kingdom of Mordent and Overseas Processions.


Ard Righ Viktor the First replaces his niece, Banrigh Lothwyn II, following her abdication after it was brought to light the fact that she wasn't the legitimate child of Righ Alfred. Under Morridane Right of Succession, the throne defaults to Viktor as a confirmed blood relative of Righ Alfred. To this end Banrigh has been declared a Pretender to the throne and thus exiled from Commonwealth territory.

Viktor is expected to appoint a caretaker government and a re-constituted Provost Council during the transition of power, in addition the Commonwealth is to be renamed to the Dominion. Though a night-time curfew and border restrictions remain in effect, the new Ard Righ has made it clear that he wishes these to be eased as stability is restored to the Morridane nation following the recent change and abrupt change of monarchs.

The new Ard Righ is also keen to engage with regional neighbours, seeking to reforge Morrdh on the international stage. Chief amongst these is the subject of foreign military bases in Morrdh, primarily whether these are to be maintained along with a review of their position regarding Morridane law. The Ard Righ also went onto express his dismay that once again the cruel hand of war has fallen upon the people of Krasnova, calling for all sides involved to agree to an armistice and seek a diplomatic solution to the affair. Viktor was quick to put Morrdh forward as a possible mediator, suggesting the neutral state of Norgorka as a meeting place.

The year is now 2019, the 15th anniversary of the founding of the UMO. As an agent of the Iron Fang, it is the duty of Detective Sergi Domingo to hunt down the ethnically and morally impure. Despite hundreds of arrests and raids to his name, a call to his Lieutenant's office ends not in a promotion, but a black bag of his own. Escaping from the Secret Police, Sergi must discover why the Iron Fang turned on him and wants him dead, even if it means an alliance with the very rebels he once hunted.

It is among these rebels that he discovers their propaganda films are more than mere camera trickery, but they tell of an alternative reality. One where Mokastana went down a far different path.

East Dienstadi Cooperation Summit Announced

PRESLAFF, Castillia — The State Secretariat announced that the East Dienstadi Cooperation Summit has been announced and will be held in the capital city of Preslaff in February. The conference is expected to be a re-entrance of Castillia into the East Dienstadi Treaty Organisation, which it had left in 2015 during the national socialist period. The State Secretariat has invited the representatives of the PUF Mokastana, the Haize Junta, the ISA Coltarin, the Ghantish Empire, and Themis. Additionally, the Morridane government of Queen Lothwyn has also been invited as the official Castillian position is to support her government.

The summit will be hosted at the Chaleur Grand Hotel de Bonheur in the historic Bonheurville district of Preslaff. This same hotel was used to facilitate the peace conference between Imbriniumian and Castillian forces during the short conflict in Castleclose during the Great Dienstadi War.

Street closures can be expected for residents of the area during the summit timeframe. Additionally, a larger police presence should also be expected as well as random anti-terrorism measures.

Sovereign Reaffirms Anti-Slavery Stance

MORRDH.- High King Viktor Cathmore has reaffirmed the Commonwealth's anti-slavery stance in an announcement made earlier today.

King Viktor stated that whilst the Commonwealth would go forward in a more neutral stance with relation to regional conflicts and politics, he vowed that his country's previous anti-slavery policy will be maintained. Viktor is cited as saying that he's been a lifelong support of the policy and it was a stance that he was keen to see continue. The King also went onto state that the Commonwealth's engagement with slaver nations will be kept to a minimum and anything more than diplomatic niceties will be only be with those nations undergoing the abolishment of slavery within their borders.

The continuation of the Commonwealth's anti-slavery policy will also see the Royal Morridane Navy's anti-slaver patrols maintained, though it is understood that the so-called 'Grey Patrol' will be scaled back due to the conflict raging in the Sea of Crowns. This reduced operational tempo will give some respite to the Navy's fleet and personnel, allowing both to recover their strength after a prolonged period of intense activity.

ARAGON CITY, DISTRICT OF CARIÑO, PALMYRION | At 9:16PM this evening, HM Elizabeth the Commoner gave birth to twins named Julia and Nathan, both of which are first in line to the Palmyrian throne. Many of the members of the Palmyrian Royal Family, including former monarch Lakán Alexander I, were present, in addition to HM Elizabeth the Commoner's family members.

Julia and Nathan weigh 3.6kg and 3.8kg, respectively, and both were delivered via Caesarean section; nevertheless, in spite of the Lakambini having undergone a C-section and thus requiring additional care, both mother and children are healthy, according to the Royal Family.

Both babies are first in line to the Royal Throne after the Lakambini herself, and while this may cause a succession crisis, the Royal Family was eager to discuss this at a later date so as to give the Lakambini time to recover from taxing labour. The Article of Monarchy of 1820 has not specified a contingency plan for when twins are born, and given the birth of twins to the Lakambini the succession rules are set to be amended in light of this.

CURFEW TO STAY

The Morridane authorities have confirmed that the current curfew, in place since the ascension of Ard Righ Viktor Cathmore, will remain in force for the foreseeable future.

The curfew will continue to take place daily between the hours of 10pm and 6am Morridane Standard Time.

Conscious of the fact that the employment of a number of Commonwealth citizens require them to be out during this time, the authorities also announced that a Curfew Pass will be available for those who require it. The pass can be obtained from any garda station, though a fee of £50 will be required.

Those found out during Curfew without a pass or 'good reason' can face a month's imprisonment and a potentially unlimited fine if a serial offender.

Church Expresses ‘Concern’ and ‘Regret’ Over Ordenite Actions
Church sends the Fourth Reich, and Ordenite Christians, a restrained message in light of enforced secularisation

Bishop De Bremoy, the highest authority clergyman in Stevid that does not hold a political position, has expressed his ‘deep regret’ at the actions taken by the Fourth Reich. He further stated that he is ‘concerned at the treatment of Christians, especially Catholics,’ and wished that followers of Jesus should be allowed to practice their faith in peace and safety.

The statement comes in the aftermath of news that the fascist state of the Ordenite Reich has begun the systematic eradication of religious institutions, with particular focus on the Catholic Church and Stevidian Catholic influences. This follows from the recent breaking of the Reichkoncordat that gave churches within Ordena the freedom to practice their faith freely but behind closed doors and monitored by the state to protect itself from political manipulation. However, news from Ordena now suggests the Reich favours a non-denominational spirituality over organised religion.

This policy is believed to involve the state seizing church assets and for clergymen to renounce their positions. Right of assembly to practice Mass, be it formal or informal, is is now forbidden and the institutions themselves being completely disbanded within the borders of Ordena. Furthermore, not only is public display of affiliation with Christianity shunned but actual affiliation is also banned. Reports from Ordena suggest that known members of a religious faith who are aligned with the state, such as civil servants, party members, and other government officials, are to renounce their faith in favour of complete atheism or a form of state sponsored spirituality. There has so far been no mention on whether members of the general public have to officially declare they have no religion or any other form of public denouncement of faith. There has also been instruction to Christian clergymen inside the dictatorship to renounce their faith or face being arrested. Of all the recent developments of religious discrimination in Ordena, this one has led the church to make official statements of condemnation against the Fourth Reich.

During a sermon at Mass yesterday, within St Malleus Cathedral, one of the largest in the world and the largest in the region, Bishop De Bremoy said the following:

“We are all too aware of the injustices wrought upon peaceful Christians with Ordena. Yet, their flagrant oppression continues apace. By breaking the Reichskoncordat, the fragile relationship with the Church was destroyed – now they criminalise the institution and the freedom to follow it. Houses of God, the symbols of Christ within, are torn down by the unfaithful and repurposed for their own gains. We are witnessing sacrilege in the flesh. Christians are no strangers to oppression; this country is testament to how it endures, but I am concerned for the treatment of Christians, especially Catholics, and the clergymen in Ordena. Roman Catholics and Catholicism itself is under attack. Stevid is a true defender of this faith, and while I express my deep regret at the actions ordered by the Reichsfurhrer Chancellery, I am not surprised. It is the duty of all Christians, regardless of sect, to maintain their faith in the face of hardship, safe in the knowledge that light of God will always pierce the gloom, and that this Holy Empire will ever be an affront to evil and protector of the meek.

Analysis: Is the Church in Stevid really a threat to the Reich

Whilst this is an attack on organised religion in general, this is no more than a thinly veiled all-out assault on Christianity – particularly focused on the Catholic Church in Stevid. Often called Stevidian Catholicism, this rigid adherence to the theocratic teaches and dogma of the Holy See is most prevalent in Greater Dienstad and particularly within Stevid. While not distinct from Roman Catholicism – they are the same, Catholic clergy in Stevid are fiercely dogmatic and seldom stray from the guidance of the Holy See to a point that could almost be described as 'fanatic'. Almost unique to Stevid is the prominence of the clergy in public office that the Church uses to better influence state decisions to bring it more in alignment with Catholic teaching.

In that respect, the Ordenite Reich is very fearful of subversion of Christian influence. The suggestion that Catholicism in Greater Dienstad is but a natural extension of Stevidian soft power and political influence is not too far from the truth. This makes the Church a very credible threat to Reich’s control over its people.

Christianity has always been an influential political force, beyond the reach of kings, emperors and ministers. The clergy too are bound to the church by principles of faith and can organise their parishes largely however they like, with bishops guiding the practices at arm’s length – unless clergy stray too far from established doctrine. In this sense, Stevidian influence on foreign countries where the Church is present is likely negligible; in fact it is normally the other way round where it is the Church that influences Stevid.

Yet where there is an alignment in policy, in that the faith is being eradicated and the Empire’s posturing against the fascist state, there may well be political subversion against the Reich within Catholic churches in Ordena. However, and unsurprisingly, no proof has been provided by the Ordenites.

The Catholic Church in Stevid has also been remarkably reserved and restrained given the level of oppression and its proximity to the Empire. The Inquisition is both known and feared region wide for its subterfuge and long reach, while the Knights Templar chapter at St Malleus are renowned shock troops, Special Forces militia, and efficient killers. The apparent lack of action from the Church to safeguard Christianity in Ordena is not indicative of Church refuses to act, for it may well be the case that Church is fighting against the Fourth Reich but not overtly. The Reich is notoriously difficult to penetrate given the complete control the regime has over almost every aspect of public life – this would make overt guerrilla operations doomed to failure.

The crack down on the institution itself is likely a move born out of fear that Stevidian Catholic agents are already present in the country and the closure of the church is damage limitation or threat mitigation.

Cardinal Houston Uses Sharper Words


His Eminence Cardinal Houston, Deputy Prime Minister of the Empire and head of the upper parliamentary house, the Council, had hard words for the Fourth Reich and called on Christians throughout the region to resist their oppression.

In a press release, His Eminence said: “These fascists are the antithesis to everything we hold dear; our culture, our faith, our way of life – all is threatened by these extremist miscreants. They fear us, they fear the word of God, and they should. The Lord is wrathful as he is benevolent, he favours his children and calls upon them to resist Satan’s tyranny made manifest in Ordena.
“Their heresy is clear, their enforced apostasy perverse. I call upon all Christians who hear this message, to resist Ordena; to endure, to pray, and I promise you deliverance and respite from the Reich’s evil.”

As arguably the most influential voice in the Empire, Cardinal Houston’s words will do much to rally public support against Ordena, and galvanise Catholic across the Empire and perhaps even the region. The more measured response from Bishop De Bremoy, who has returned from a synod in the Holy Marsh, is indicative of the two competing balances of power within the Catholic Church in Stevid. Yet the Bishop is known to use the services of Church security and brought with him to Holy Marsh prominent members of both the Templars and Inquisition.

Both clergymen have advocated the use of these entities, as well as employing monasteries and sisterhood religious orders to further church policy. There is no clear sign that either the Templars or Inquisition have been deployed, or will be deploy, against the Fourth Reich.

Following Bishop De Bremoy’s hugely successful visit to Holy Marsh, there is an added question on whether cooperation is sought with the Marshites. The crack down on organised religion mutual affects both countries. As of yet, no diplomatic overtures have been made by either state or church.

WESTERN THEOHUANACU STRUCK
BY MEGA EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMIS



Large towns like Wuehexe and even major cities like Inxuahtl have been devastated by the unprecedented disaster.

INXUAHTL, Theohuanacu — Cualtzi Aca had just woken up when his son ran into his room and told him to look out toward the sea. Thinking little of it, Cualtzi hesitantly followed his sixteen-year-old boy out. What he saw was horrific, although it was just a warning of what was to come.

Like most Theohuacans living on the coast, Cualtzi had been first woken up by severe shaking of the earth caused by an earthquake originating almost two hundred kilometers west of them. Originally registered as 9.1 in magnitude, and later corrected to 9.4, the earthquake and its multitude of aftershocks was felt throughout much of west-central Greater Díenstad, including the Athiesism Islands, Safehaven, and United Gordonopia. Known as a megathrust earthquake, it was caused by a slip in the major fault line running north to south off the coast of Theohuanacu. One plate forced beneath another, it generated not only one of the worst earthquakes recorded in the area's history, but also a number of tsunamis that have ravaged western Theohuanacu's coastline. The thirty-meter high waves swept everything before them as they struck all along the tourist-heavy beaches of Macabéan-governed island-continent.

Before yesterday's tragedy, Cualtzi operated a surf rental shop that catered to the hundreds of thousands of tourists who swarm into the area every year to take advantage of the beautiful, blue waters and ordinarily sunny summer weather. Excepting the autumn storm seasons, western Theohauancu's last decade of history has been a remarkable success story of development, prosperity, and growth. Macabéan occupation and its gradual constraining of piracy in the nearby seas have made for a more peaceful and commercially-oriented society in a part of the world that had become used to turmoil.

Although rebel movements, like the Free Inxuahtl Movement, known as FIM, continue to exist and operate, the violence has become increasingly tame and there have even been discussions of full disarmament and disbandment. Economic growth has brought about prosperity that most western Theohuanacans were never accustomed to because even if they achieved such means it meant only an increased risk of being targeted by a rebel or pirate attack. Now, local interests in maintaining and curating the snowballing tourist traffic, paired with imperial security, have created different conditions and incentives.

Yesterday's destruction threatens to reverse this success story. Businesses' like Cualtzi's lay in ruin, their buildings and stores swept into the sea. But, it's not just commerce that has been utterly ruined. Only a few stranded homes sit upright in towns like Wuehexe. Most don't stand at all. In fact, most don't even have the individual pieces of timber left. The only evidence of civilization is the rubble that extends as far as the eye can see.

It's not just material destruction that this earthquake and its tsunamis have wrought. While the numbers are only estimates, imperial officials estimate the casualty rate to be in the hundreds of thousands. In fact, the death count may be as high as half a million. There are over one million people missing, their families looking for them beneath the remnants of the buildings. The scale of the tragedy has left the locals in shock.

The Imperial Bureaucracy and the Territorial Government of Theohuanacu have been quick to react. The Ejermacht is in the process of deploying more than five hundred thousand more troops, precedent from the eastern prefectures of the territory, to help look for survivors and salvage what they can. The government has announced that it will triple this deployment over the coming weeks, despite the ongoing fighting in Krasnova. Local imperial officials have also extended an olive branch to the various and disparate guerrilla movements which, although waning, continue to resist imperial occupation, hoping to put aside differences in order to help the people of western Theohuanacu pick up the pieces and rebuild. It's a partnership that will be necessary if the area is to return to the stability it was just beginning to enjoy.

More than just manpower will be necessary for the reconstruction, however. In the provinces, the Congress of Kingdoms has petitioned the Senate to introduce an emergency funding bill out of solidarity. Although the process has only begun and is likely to see some resistance from a congressional body that has historically sought to separate itself from the plights of the territories, which have their own representative bodies, there is talk of a Ŗ5 billion aid package. The Imperial Bureaucracy, strained by the recently ended war in Gholgoth and the conflict in Krasnova, is discussing a Ŗ15 billion package. The Territorial Government, also suffering from tight finances after the devastation of southeastern Theohuanacu by the most recent pirate rebellion, has nevertheless already announced a Ŗ7 billion emergency package which may increase to as much as Ŗ10 billion.

While a combined Ŗ30 billion is quite a significant sum, none of this money will be immediately available. Most of it will have to be funneled through aid organizations that will direct the clean-up and reconstruction on the ground, and this infrastructure has yet to be set up. Right now, few Theohuanacans are thinking of rebuilding. They are preoccupied with finding their loved ones or, simply, with the shock at the degree of the devastation wrought by this natural disaster.

Nevertheless, the Ejermacht has already mobilized immediate resources to ship food, clothing, and other bare necessities to the area. There has also already been a scramble to begin the construction of emergency living centers, which the Territorial Government of Theohuanacu hopes to set up over the coming days to house the millions who have been left with nothing.

Undoubtedly, both the locals, the territorial government, and the Imperial Bureaucracy, will be hoping for help from the international community.

Governor Arn Jeropa has announced plans to visit the zones of devastation starting tomorrow. The Imperial Bureaucracy has not yet announced the intention of an imperial visit, although it expected that a kríerlord will be sent to survey the damage if not His Imperial Majesty Himself. High-level political visits, of course, are the farthest thing on the minds of the locals.

For most, the priority now is simply to comprehend what has, and why this, happened to them.

As the clouds of war and death so parted those 13 years ago this day, 8 March, so too did the clouds of rain and storm parted today to again shine the holy light back upon the UIS as today the nation gathered to celebrate it's independence as the group of little island states banded together in a union to reclaim the right for it's own self determination.

A Daring Deceleration

On a rainy day in late February of 1997 the first meeting between the great leaders of the states took place in a island hut deep in the jungles of Aurora Island. With the odds stacked against them as major regional powers fought over control of the islands, with no way to know if salvation or destruction would be waiting for them they discussed the potential of a future, a future not of conquest under a single Kingdom as had been the case of the prior Aurora Empire in centuries past of the old Nanao family line but unite under the banner of representation, of a democratic say, a stability offered by a continues rule but the inclusion of a democratic system. Discussions continued through the month of the formation of a new government, how to go about declaring AHSCA's right as a newly formed sovereign state.

On the front lines meanwhile, the weeks rolled on the rain and the fighting seemed endless sopped into AHSCA's monsoon season seemed little deterrent to foreign forces but a real morale blow to natives fighting. No leader to look to, no symbol, only the vain hope their lives and lives of their loved ones could be spared, only the hope of their tribes, leaders, monarchs, crownships could see them through.

At long last the time had come, the rains of the stormy summer ended and a group of signatories finalized AHSCA's Deceleration of Independence,

We are the peoples of a small cluster of islands, separated by turbulent seas, differences in language, norms, cultures and other customs, but stand united through a common goal, a goal that we as people who have existed here for centuries before to determine our own right of self progress and determination. Free from the other states who have come to wage war against us, those who have come to take our citizens, our leaders as hostages on the high seas or in faraway lands can not be tolerated.

We are islands that have had long histories together, in times of friendship, conquest, fighting and turmoil. Island that have been reached out to by a vast world we had little knowledge of until now and now we come together as a group of islands to secure our inalienable right of freedom in this large world. For it is the right of all those who walk, talk and possess heart and soul so endowed by our Creators in the Heavens and Earth to be secure in the basic values of decency and self determination.

That to secure these rights, we have taken arms against those we had not wished to take arms against before and now in the heat of this we have come together to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. In the face of abuse against a foreign enemy that refused to talk peace, that hath taken a unifying figure from these islands rather than talk for peace, they continue an aggression against every man and woman who so dare defy them.

We therefor come together unifying under the names of all our states, a government under the rulership of one but with the voice of all, taking the names of each island's cultural and relevant name to it's identity and people, lead by a coalition of Chiefs, Crowns, Leaders, Rulers and Soldiers of these islands join in commonality of this goal to declare us, the United Island States appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world of our intentions, do, in the name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare that they are not in allegiance to any state but their own and that all political connection between them and the State of Stevid or her allies or any claims laid by the state and allies are dissolved null and void; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

A stirring deceleration indeed, a one that would without doubt have ramifications as each participant willfully signed their name and in essence their own death warrants. The big question remained go into hiding or stand and fight. Many saw this Deceleration as a hail marry, or futile gesture against a supremely powerful foe who would surely bring fire and fury upon everyone and anyone. None had any way to know if anybody in the world would read, care or recognize this Deceleration but as by the Grace of Heavens above, the prayers of all were surely answered.

March-into-April is typically the winding down of AHSCA's rainy season and while also beginning it's hurricane season. Storms always come and go at their own pleasure with disregard for whatever time of year it is and as the rains dried up and the sun shone the fighting intensified in what felt like the final push by the invaders to finally claim what they believed would be rightfully there own. But as The Goddesses so willed it a massive storm took hold causing a needed ceasefire between the parties involved. Hurricane Shino as it became retroactively known, was something of another destructive storm, one of many in the long history of the islands, and a pyrrhic miracle. Many wondered and feared this was only a small setback for the techno giants and only a delay of inevitable defeat for the islanders. But it wasn't the end for us as a people, it was the only the start. Peace was finally brokered, Her Majesty the newly crowned Duchess of the newly christened UIS of AHSCA was released from captivity, independence was recognized.

23 Years Later

The scars of war have passed, more than 2/3 of today's citizens were born in the aftermath and didn't have to experience the terrors of war, including myself the author of this article. More and more people today are curious and trusting of the larger world than they were even just ten years ago! AHSCA has made new friends and allies, has largely been ignored or forgotten by it's old foes, (perhaps the one time someone would be glad to be ignored) and today is a reminding celebration of not where we were but where we are today. Her Majesty Duchess Villa gave a rousing speech to the UISC not focusing on the horrors of war but focusing on the wonderful today. It was only 7 years ago her mother, The Great Duchess Shino Villa made her speech to the same body, focusing on the trials and tribulations the states have had to overcome since the days of The War. And I say this with all due respect To Her Majesty.

UIS Independence Day is more of a solemn occasion, not as happy and festive as our Festival for Holy Light which has become a major tourist draw over the year, as we remember those who laid their lives to give us the freedom today. But solemn might not even be the best way to describe it as walking the streets, people are happy and joyous as they often are. Maybe it's the change in the weather as our rainy season begins to draw to a close but I think it's still the passage of time. Time heals all wounds and for the UIS it's healed. Talking with my own parents yesterday, parents who lived and fought during that awful time, they recalled to me, in year I was born, 1999, people were still scared, scared that this peace wouldn't last. My mama most of all was scared as she sheared me into this world in our little home on Aurora Island, it wouldn't be long before I would one day be forced to run for my life or forced to take up arms against a hostile nation wanting to destroy us. But now here we are 13 years later, I've grown to be a well rounded young woman (I hope), my parents have been able to watch their daughter grow up, become apart of the Government they fought to make a reality. 13 years later, they're glad that my biggest fear as a little girl was the thunder and lightning and not being killed because of what religion I follow as many were during The War.

I suspect as more time passes and more and more we press forward as a nation and as a people, maybe The 8th will become less a day of reflection and remembrance and more a day of celebration and jubilee! It may not draw the crowds our lovely Festival has drawn these last couple years but maybe just maybe it can become just enough that more will want to take interest in our life, our world and our history. At the very least it's sure to become a great party for us to celebrate, different from the collective sigh of relief that another year has managed to pass that we remain a free people.

Arcaenia To Close Borders in Response to KN755-B1 Virus Outbreak

Effective immediately all flights to Arcaenia will be halted and all non-citizens denied entry

HYPERIA - The Arcaenian Government has declared a state of emergency and will close its external borders effective immediately in an effort to prevent the spread of the KN755-B1 virus , Chancellor Sebastian Hayden announced tonight in a televised address to the public.

Effective immediately all flights to Arcaenia will be prevented from landing and all non-citizens deemed inadmissible. Travel to foreign countries will also be prohibited and all Arcaenian airlines are to immediately cancel all international flights and will refund customers for their tickets. As part of the border closing all outgoing flights departing Arcaenia which have already taken off or are airborne will be redirected back towards Arcaenia and permitted to unload their passengers and/or cargo while all aircraft currently in flight towards Arcaenia will be redirected back towards their departure airports. All Arcaenian citizens who have returned from overseas flights within the last 30 days will also be put into mandatory quarantine until they can be tested for the KN755-B1 virus. No other quarantine procedures or restrictions on the public will be enacted unless persons inside the country test positive for the KN755-B1 virus.

"The utmost priority is protecting our citizens and executing proactive measures before the virus reaches our shores" said Hayden as part of his address.

Arcaenian soldiers and other military personnel deployed to Holy Panooly or other overseas locations are being instructed to immediately begin NBC procedures and to immediately seal off bases from all external entry, a spokesperson for the Arcaenian Military announced alongside the address from the Chancellor. All soldiers currently deployed or stationed overseas will be tested for the KN755-B1 virus and put into mandatory quarantine if necessary. All Arcaenian personnel will be retired to wear NBC suits when leaving designated zones and all vehicles and personnel entering bases will be required to pass NBC decontamination checkpoints to prevent any Arcaenian military personnel from contracting or further spreading the virus.

Lastly the Arcaenian government has confirmed that a team of civilian and military doctors, virologists, and other scientists are being sent from Arcaenia to Holy Panooly to study the viral outbreak and further advise the Arcaenian civilian government and military leadership on further steps to combat the KN755-B1 virus.

Government Responds To Spread Of Illness-Borders Closing

Reports from foreign nations and press organizations, have revealed an outbreak of a virus in the war torn area of Holy Panooly. The virus was able to quickly spread, and now cases are being reported outside of the original zone. A statement by the government did not reveal casualty numbers but did state that it was heavy. According to government officials, the cause is currently unknown, but the illness is very contagious. This then led to an announcement, that quarantine actions will be implemented to either assist in avoiding any cases or mitigate a larger outbreak within Kolechia.

Currently, the government asks all citizens outside of the borders who are planning on returning, to contact either an Embassy/Consulate. They are asked to either get tested before returning or do so when arriving. If they are tested before returning please present paperwork showing such. It is also asked that all citizens over seas to return as quickly as possible, if it will take time they are asked to contact the nearest Embassy/Consulate. It is of course also advised to remain in close contact with family, friends, and work.

If there are any issues abroad, the government is prepared to send flights to assist in returning to the country. Flights will not be made available to the effected countries and areas for citizens, the only flights that may occur are the already mentioned assistance flights, to bring citizens back, and flights for foreigners to leave. Flights carrying foreign peoples will attempt to get passengers as close as possible (if not directly) to home. Non-Citizens are asked to also contact their country's Embassies/Consulates, as well as keep in touch with family back home.

For actions on land, all border access areas will be closed to non-citizens, though foreigners may exit there. Citizens may cross but will be asked to be tested or bring paperwork showing they have been tested.

Updates are to be expected and will be announced as soon as possible.

Population Increase

Numbers have come back showing that the population has risen by three million in the years since the last count, bringing the total population of citizens to thirty-four million people. Data has not yet come back on the number of deaths but officials have said that the current numbers show it to be lower. Our country holds a spot for being much lower in population, in relation to our neighbors and that largely comes from some of the dramatic terrain within our borders, however it appears that has not stopped growth.

ORDENITE COMMANDOS RAID MORRDH!

The Taoiseach has made an announce this morning that Ordenite commandos attempted a raid in Morrdh last night, but were successfully defeated by Commonwealth security forces.

Photographs were produced of the Ordenite soldiers, though it appears none were taken alive. It is not clear what they had hoped to achieve, but it is highly suspected that they intended to exploit recent turmoil in Morrdh to ensure that the Commonwealth remained destabilised. Efforts are currently underway to locate possible safehouses used by the raiders and to see whether other teams are active within the borders of the Commonwealth.

Both Ard Righ Viktor Cathmore and the Taoiseach have condemned the raid as a 'cowardly action' by the Ordenite Reich and pledged to offer the Commonwealth's full support to anti-Ordenite forces in Greater Dienstad.

The Military Council today announced the public testing showcase of the newly-designed AMDOSS Aerial Cannon to the entire nation, as one of the first ever internationally-broadcast showcases performed by Cochlea. The Emperor intends to use this showcase as a method of earning merit with the global community in regards to the advanced Cochlean technological capabilities and as a way to attract potential allies to the Empire as quickly as possible. After the recent developments of war against the Ordenites, the Empire decided on weapons as a good attraction.

The AMDOSS Aerial Cannon is a recently designed weapon that utilizes a kinetic railgun with intelligent ammo, enabling it to perform chain shots that see a single round tearing through several fighters in a chain progression before stopping in the final one and igniting in a small detonation, confirming at least one kill. The Cannon was designed as a way to fight against high-quantity airforces, and to allow the Empire to stand as a harder opponent to beat.

The demonstration has been scheduled to take place at the Qorum National Airbase near the city of Urubekium at 8:30 AM, and it will be a four hour long demonstration seeing the cannon tested in several scenarios of various difficulties. The Cochlean scientific corporations have also pitched in several other demonstrations such as a demonstration of new autopilot AI and intelligent drones, although the main attraction will stay as the AMDOSS.

KN755-B1 Vaccine to Enter Clinical Trials

Arcaenian Federal Ministry of Health announces it will start human trials of a KN755-B1 vaccine

HYPERIA - The Arcaenian Federal Ministry of Health announced that it was beginning a Phase 1 clinical trial of an experimental vaccine for the KN755-B1 virus. 50 healthy adult between the ages of 18 and 65 will be selected for the trial will which run for 2 months. Subjects will be injected with varying doses of the vaccine and their immune response subsequently monitored over the course of the trial to determine the vaccine's effectiveness. The move is unusual because Arcaenian researchers are skipping animal trials and moving directly to human test subjects to accelerate the development of a successful vaccine. "Finding an effective vaccine which is safe for human use is the utmost priority ", said Johan Spahn, director of the Arcaenian Federal Ministry of Health, and a press conference announcing the vaccine trials earlier today.

Although no confirmed cases of KN755-B1 have been reported in Arcaenia a team of Arcaenian civilian and military researchers were able to obtain samples of the KN755-B1 virus in the Golden Throne Satrapy of Holy Panooly which were sent back to the Federal Ministry of Health's high-containment laboratory in Hyperia, a biosafety level 4 (BSL-4) laboratory where samples of the virus were analyzed and an experimental vaccine synthesized. The vaccine, which is being called mRNA-755-B1, is unique because it is an mRNA vaccine which uses liquid nano particles containing a synthetic copy of the virus's messenger RNA (mRNA) which instructs the host subjects immune system to produce the viral proteins itself, essentially mimicking the viral infection to create viral proteins which attack and destroy the virus. This is theoretically safer then conventional vaccines which rely on injecting a weakened version of the virus into the person as there is no risk of the virus becoming active. These types of mRNA vaccines have previously been experimental, although the Arcaenian military has previously used experimental versions to combat Bioweapons developed by other Diestadi militaries.

Early in the morning today, a Macabeean vessel was detected by a patrolling frigate in the Jaded Sea, and the vessel was detected to be on a course through Cochlean waters and its possessions were unknown and potentially dangerous, having come from the Macabees. The frigate moved in to intercept under the cover of night and successfully caught the cargo ship, halting it and hailing it, requesting to board and search the cargo. When the frigate refused it was escorted out of Cochlean waters, and then tailed to its destination.

When questioned by the Council on both the legality and the practicality of such a possibly provocative action, the Emperor stated that he was very certain that TGT would do next to nothing about the act, and that even if they took notice, they would underestimate Cochlea and dismiss it as nothing. The Emperor also addressed the Assembly on the matter after a significant pushback in worry of retaliation:

"It is my firm belief that the people of Macabees will take no notice to the recent incident in the Jaded Sea. As we have seen they are, as many others, too focused on the United World Order and on internal and political strife, to take notice of a nation they deem beneath them. If there is a response it will surely be nothing but a simple hissy fit, and I do believe that if required the Imperial Navy can continue doing what they are doing without any reaction."

The Assembly was placated by the words but within there are still skeptics. Irritating a colonial power was not something that spoke to pragmatism in the current day, and yet at the same time it was highly reasonable to prevent possible infiltrations or violations, and so, the Assembly has kept silent thus far.

A strict curfew is being enforced in the capital city of Cormond to cut down the riots, similar rules are being enforced in East Mordent to curb the violence there and enforce martial law.

IMPERIAL BUREAUCRACY WARNS IMPERIAL MERCHANT SHIPPING
TO AVOID COCHLEAN WATERS FOR REMAINDER OF KRASNOVAN WAR



While most Macabéan cargo ships are avoiding northern seas as a result of the Fourth Krasnovan War,
some continue to brave the fighting. Cochlea's interception further endangers private merchant shippers sailing in northern waters.

FEDALA — As news of Cochlea's interception of a Macabéan cargo ship in Cochlean waters circulates, the biggest question is, "Why?"

Trade in the waters immediately north of the Golden Throne has slowed to a trickle, if that, due to the ongoing conflict in Krasnova, which has spread to the waters directly west and east of United World Order. In fact, those turbulent seas are witness to sharp fighting between the Ordenite Kriegsmarine and the Arcaenian navy. The closure of the port of Macabea, with the need to service the war fleet there, has further conditioned the flow of trade. As a result, most trade has shifted to longer, but safer, routes, that pass through the Golden Sea and to Targul Frumos.

Regardless, some cargo ships have continued to brave dangerous routes in the north. Braving Ordenite u-boats and surface ships, and errant missiles, they take their chances with shorter routes that pass by nations and ports that would otherwise have to be foregone until the end of the war. One ship that survived those threads has encountered another: Cochlean authorities.

What could motivate Cochlea to intercept a Macabéan trade ship is still a mystery, as the Cochlean government has failed to release any substantial explanation for its actions. Was the decision rational or irrational? Answering this question comes down to a second line of inquiry revolving around what Cochlea could possibly gain.

The Sea of Crowns and the waters north of Mordent are the scene of sharp fighting between Ordenite and Triumvirate naval forces, the latter consisting mostly of Arcaenian and Imbrinumian naval assets. Could Cochlea, a neutral nation in the conflict, be seeking an alliance with the Fourth Reich? Does it seek to enter the war against the Triumvirate? This scenario has been taken seriously, according to sources within the Imperial Bureaucracy. There are rumors that discussions are taking place within the alliance on whether to act against Cochlea preemptively, before it could upset the balance of forces in the area.

Or, could this be the action of a nation that sees the Golden Throne at war, knows of its current resource constraints, and is looking to make a name for itself? The fear of this being true is to what extent the Cochleans are willing to risk retaliation toward this purpose and whether, in the long-run, the path they are following is the same as the one above, namely that their interests align with those of the Ordenite Reich.

Nevertheless, the immediate response by the Imperial Bureauracracy has been to further underscore the importance of finding alternative trade routes that pass through the south until the end of the Krasnovan conflict. The Kríermada has deployed most of its assets within the region to the immediate need of subduing the Ordenite naval threat, both in the Sea of Crowns and in the waters directly surrounding Krasnova. Ordenite and imperial forces are pitted in a battle for control of access to the port of Fedorograd in the Satrapy of Pezlevko-Rubino and maintaining the supply line to the satrapy open remains the primary priority of the Fuermak.

Furthermore, imperial merchants have been asked to comply with Cochlean demands for boarding and inspection when and if in Cochlean waters.

The Imperial Bureaucracy has, however, warned the Cochlean government that Cochlean ships which attempt interception of Macabéan vessels outside recognized Cochlean waters will be sunk and that such actions would be seen as a declaration of war on the Golden Throne.

The waters of Greater Díenstad's extreme north have been patrolled for years by imperial submarines which travel between ports in the two satrapies of New Empire and Nicaro, using friendly ports in between for any necessary resupply. These efforts have been focused on denial of the area to Kravenite slave ship convoys. These secretive assets, which deployments and numbers are highly classified, give the Kríermada a strategic arm to retaliate against Cochlea in case of aggression. Whether their attention will shift toward the protection of imperial merchant shipping is unknown, but this eventuality will certainly become more likely in the case of growing Cochlean animosity.

Other potential responses being explored include enforcing a trade embargo and using the Golden Throne's political allegiances and influence to persuade other governments to do the same, severely constraining Cochlean trade and subsequently damaging their economy. This option has historically been avoided by an empire that has always championed free trade, but with other military obligations and a government growing increasingly war-weary, non-military options of retaliation will be increasingly used. And, surely, the loss of international trade will damage Cochlea magnitudes more than the loss of trade with a single nation, one that has already shown its aggression against peaceful trade, would do to the Golden Throne. However, talks of trade embargoes and sanctions are speculative and nothing more.

What is clear is that escalation of this aggression by part of Cochlea will most certainly be retaliated against.

Yaroslav, also known as the Osea territories has seen a governmental collapse, prompting the Federation to move forces into the region to secure key infrastructure, including the Transcontinental Maglev Railway, stretching from the Coltarin border to Morrdh. Although Federal forces have moved into the northern portions of the country, it is believed that Federal authorities will discuss the move with other nations on the continent regarding the long term status of the fallen nation, such as Coltarin or Haishan.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is observing developments in the recent confrontation between the Cochlean Navy and shipping under the flag of The Golden Throne. The incident in question is the recent, unannounced escort of a Macabean cargo ship out of Cochlean territorial waters. Although it has been pointed out by both Foreign Affairs and experts in maritime law that Cochlea Attenum is entirely within it's rights to police the nation's territorial waters and air space, the action was unexpected, and Eitoan diplomats in both countries are scrambling to understand the thought process leading up to the incident, and evaluate the likely next steps on both sides. Observers have pointed out that although the Kriermada is heavily engaged in the current conflict in Krasnova, it is certainly capable of projecting power anywhere in Greater Dienstad and is clearly dominant throughout the waters of central Greater Dienstad including the Sea of Crowns and the Sea of Ordenia.

Foreign Affairs is believed to be studying the situation in great depth at this time, drawing on both it's internal staff and outside experts. A number of key players involved in shipping and legal interaction with central Greater Dienstad have been seen entering and exiting Foreign Affairs Annex B in Vladarsik, seat of the Policy Analysis Steering Committee, indicating particular attention devoted to this issue. There have been reports of low level diplomatic efforts aimed at resolution of issues on the part of Eitoan and other third parties, but details about specific discussions have been sketchy. The Eitoan embassy in Fedala has so far been mum on these rumors. Similarly, Eitoan shippers have recieved no indication of any issues, and trade between Eitoan and Cochlea Attenum is unaffected.

Most puzzling to the Eitoan public is the action of the Cochlean Navy, backed by pronouncements of their Emperor in light of interest expressed by Cochlea Attenum in the Nothwestern Mutual Assistance Agreement, the alliance of western democracies, of which The Golden Throne is an observer. The recent naval action seems in contradiction to the approach to NMAA membership. There is agreement at Foreign Affairs and in the Legislature that NMAA membership for Cochlea would not be possible unless and until all issues with The Golden Throne are resolved. Beyond this recent wrinkle, membership would likely be limited to observer status at this time, as Eitoan policy is focused on continental issues. It is a prerequisite that Cochlea, even as an observer, will have to agree to all provisions of the Treaty of Berwyn by which the NMAA came into existence.

The relationship between the NMAA and The Triumvirate is currently undefined, although their interests coincide more often than conflict. In this relationship, The Golden Throne acts a the fulcrum, friendly to both, and adding muscle across Greater Dienstad. Cochlea Attenum would need to integrate policy with The Golden Throne to contribute to the NMAA it's coordination with The Triumvirate to be an effective observer. The Eitoan military is sensitive to involvement with any power at odds with Fedala. This is particularly true of the Navy. Junior naval officers are close to the Kriermada, and recently many have been educated at Macabean colleges. Murmers of concern since the incident have been heard at the Naval War College that admission of Cochlea to the NMAA without proper vetting of all issues could lead to a "quiet mutiny" within naval ranks in the form of the junior officer corps resigning en masse. These concerns have been communicated to Foreign Affairs Secretary Randall Field.

Tolor Emmerson, Secretary of Foreign Affairs in the Brznak and Blackstone administrations, and Director of the Institute for Strategic Policy Studies, Eitoan National Sciences Academy, in addressing The Kelso Business Roundtable last night said "The most important long term goal of Eitoan foreign policy is to enhance our defense capabilities on continent. The primary objective of this goal is dominance over the Penada Clique in any kind of land war. Right now, Penada has been laid low, and our capabilities are great on continent. They are certainly sufficient to deter any agression from that quarter, whether agains Free Ralkovia, the NMAA, or any other democracies. But we must always be observant, and maintain that edge. Expansion of NMAA areas of involvement into central Greater Dienstad does not serve this purpose. Another goal with high priority is strengthening the Free Ralkovian economy. Only through economic progress can Free Ralkovia quell the fires of separatism, radicalism, and revanchism. It is hoped that a prosperous Free Ralkovia will join the family of nations in the northern continent, and serve as an example to those laguishing under the Penada bootheel. Here too, expansion of the NMAA eastward does not make a contribution. In the nearer term, and for the forseeable future we see a redployment of naval assets to the Bay of Chains and adjacent waters for the purpose of interdiction of Penada trade and economic pressure. This will be another cost to bear, and will also limit any activity east of The Timocratic Republic."

Aerospace Guardian: Defense Forces Maneuvers to Neutralise Modern Threats

In the first time of Haize history, Haize Aerospace Defense Forces (HADF) had practiced defenses against massive attacks including hypersonics in recent Veiylan-2020 Aerospace Guardian exercise. Haize aviation and aerospace defense units had learned to contend with multiple simultaneous attacks involving low flying precision munitions, tactical ballistic missiles and maneuvering hypersonics as well on destroying their launchers in return.

Today, domestic aerospace defense equipment regardless of their objectives and goals are able to rapidly advance to different area as required and ensure continuous protection of the skies above Haishan. According to most experts, the concept of highly mobile air defense system is now highly desirable due threat of mass precision strikes prevalent in Greater Dienstad and eventually proliferation of hypersonics.

The Veiylan-2020 exercise conducted south of Haishan was a large-scale maneuvers of aviation, air defense forces and the Navy in where more than two hundred units took part. The exercise also featured first-ever operational introduction of HADF newest anti air complex HC-200 Vycin (English : Vaccine) tasked to quickly dispatch multiple low to medium altitude objects with guided ammunition.

L&K Operations increase in Monavia!



Although most shipments of trade and commerce from Monavia are done by companies under Monavia, a good portion is leaving L&K ports, which were the target of the taxation policy, which the L&K Task Forces largely garrison. Most Task units are armed as well.

L&K News — The first nail in the coffin was the signing of the contract in 1988.

The Locke and Keye Corporation has long since been in contact with the Monavian Government, having established bases and offices inside of the nation in 1988, during the Acadian Financial Crisis that was the years of 1960-1995. Locke and Keye had prior relations with Monavia as their founders had established rapport with the Monavian governmental figures and had made several investments in port operations and cargo shipments from Acadia, which had grown the two bodies closer together, preparing them for 1988, when the contract was signed. This contract gave L&K six ports on the Monavian coasts and hired them to protect shipping lanes between Acadia and Monavia. But this soon became a beneficial hindrance, so to speak, because of L&K control. L&K used this power to open branch offices and companies in Monavia and began to withdraw profits without any beneficiary payments, and soon L&K grew rapidly in financial power.

This action, along with the L&K military buildups, led to their expansion across the world into Lmonia, and Kassaran, with negotiations in place with Mokastana and companies open in the Theocracy of Holy Marsh. This rapid spread of L&K assets allowed it to begin in earnest, indebting several Monavian companies into sending their cargo shipments from L&k port to L&K port, restricting monetary gains of Monavia. This decreased relations drastically with the two sides until a stable improvement was met after L&K opened a new trading company in Monavia with the funds that began earning credit for both sides.

Today that would all change, as L&K finally levied its cards and began taxing a tariff on all cargo shipments in and out of the trading company's ports, disallowing Monavian authorities from intervening under the contract's jurisdiction law, as the ports technically belonged to L&K. THe PMC deployed several new squads of their Military Police units and several more squadrons of Special Forces to the military bases, and have begun extracting these tariffs by first peace, and then force.

Cochlean authorities, when questioned about possible involvement due to the L&K base in their territory, made no comment. Cochlean companies never dealt with L&K after all, and so it was not a plausible assumption that Cochlea was involved. However Acadia has begun seeing much more unrest within its port cities, as its civilians began to question if it could truly control its own military, or if the military was the embodiement of the true power in Acadia.

Emperor declares Code Black!



In light of the recent beginnings of hostilities in HailandKill, the Imperial Ground Forces have seen much more activity as troops are deployed to the Killian border. The border's civilian populous has begun questioning if this is a defensive move, or preparation for an invasion.

Public News Network — The only thing anyone thought was, 'The Emperor was right.'

Very recently, the state of HailandKill has seen hostilities beginning with the Ordenite Reich, and this estimation was the exact estimation made when a cargo ship was seized from The Golden Throne. The assumption that foreign powers would begin an intervention into HailandKill was a correct one, and unluckily the Emperor had failed to contain the onset of TGT and Ordenite forces. This sudden danger to Cochlea has posed all the right reasons for the Emperor to, for the first time in Cochlea's history, declare Code Black.

Code Black is a status of readiness that instructs all military forces to mobilize war assets and sit at the ready for the order to engage an enemy invasion of Cochlea. Ground Force divisions are moved to the contested border and naval assets are primed in the seas, while the Air Force begins patrols of the skies. All of this was planned after the Acadian Coup, in which a war was expected to follow, although it instead evolved into a lasting peace agreement.

Now, the Emperor orders the deployment of eighteen CIGF divisions to the Killian border and several air sects to the border's skies, with orders to shoot down any incursion into Cochlea. This move, which caused many of the major Cochlean border cities such as Ratava, Mogadai and Lietens to be occupied by infantrymen and military vehicles, caused many of the civilians in the cities to question if this was truly a defensive move. Cochlea was known to be disregardant of sovereignity if it meant that a major national opponent was engaging in hostilities that could jeapordize the Empire, and this was no exception in the eyes of the civilian populous on the border.

Following the deployment, the First War Fleet had begun moving from the ports in Lagatenum into the Sea of Crowns following the declaration of Code Black, the Fleet avoiding the conflict between Triumvirate forces and the Ordenite Kriegsmarine in the area. This move further pushed the question that was on the minds of every civilian in Cochlea:
