The general is seen briefing his subordinates about the offensive in Ostreich, which has since yesterday ended with victory for Barkadian forces on both fronts.
"Yesterday, our forces have completed the biggest offensive in Ostreich for us so far. In the late afternoon, the first warlord was killed in a last stand from a rocket propelled grenade fired into his mansion. The other warlord willingly surrendered to our forces and is now being dealt with by the new government being set up. Our total casualties are 356 Barkadian troops, with 179 dead, and 177 wounded. Vehicle wise, we have lost three tanks, and around 7 AFVs total. Two tanks were our outdated T-64s, with one being severely damaged with 2 of the crewmen dying, and the other ending in all 3 dead. Many of our newer T-90s were damaged, with one being lost to a mobility kill during the beginning of the offensive. The others were able to fall back and be repaired. We have also lost one BRDM-2, two BTR-60s, and a BTR-80 that was severely damaged and abandoned. Our offensive took longer than expected, but our losses were lower than predicted. We are very lucky. You are dismissed."
The other men get up and walk away. The general goes back to his tent to begin planning a new offensive to occur within the next few weeks.
A tank commander sits in front of his tank in front of a small village he had taken just before the surrender. His crewmen are talking in the background.
"What a long month. I thought it would never end, or that we would ever make it. We were hit by a rocket 3 fucking times, man."
The tank commander joins the conversation.
"We are very lucky, yes. However, you should expect us to always make it. We have our Anderian steel, and our Barkadian strength. I was never worried."
"I suppose. It's just getting to me a little I guess. We have taken minor damage. Maybe it'll be more than that one day."
"I doubt it. This is one of the newest tank models we have received. It could probably withstand a nuke!"
They laugh.
"Just hope for the best, soldier. This war will be over soon enough."
