On the road towards Chladný

Firdeck and his group sit in and behind bushes on a two lane road. Every person has their weapon of choice, and all of them are wearing all black clothing and black balaclavas. Although far in the north, the summer heat is felt through the whole group. Firdeck begins to yell, so the people across the road can hear.

"Michal should be around the curve any minute! Turn your safety off! Cock the RPG!"

The groups gaze through their hiding spots while a white car turns the bend.

Michal and his wife Duska are driving to Chladný. The forest around them is calm. They are surrounded by tall pine trees and Chrysibir bushes. The sun was almost under the horizon, even though it was still only the afternoon. Michal completes a turn around a slight bend in the road. After driving down a straight part of the road for a second, gunshots began to echo throughout the forest.

The first bullet, a typical 7.62x39 millimeter round fired from a modified BR-82 entered Michal's window. It went over the legs of both people in the vehicle and exited through the front passenger's door. The second bullet, fired from the other side of the road from Firdeck's BR-58, went through the window on the front passenger's door, entered Duska's head above the right ear, traveled through her brain, and stopped just before exiting above the left temple. She was killed instantly. The third bullet, a 5.45x39 millimeter round, fired from an AK-74, entered through the driver's door, struck Michal's left hand, tumbled through the air, and struck his right hand. It then dented the front passenger's door and hit the fell to the floor. All other bullets struck the engine and tires, or hit other areas of the vehicle. Michal, now unable to steer the vehicle due to damage to his hands and the car, was unable to stop it from steering off the road and hitting a large tree. Michal was knocked unconsciousness due to his head hitting the steering wheel.

Firdeck and his group, noticing the accident and sudden stoppage of the vehicle, knew what was next. The person operating the RPG-7 took aim at the car. He quickly yelled for everyone to move out of the way. As he pulled the trigger, the rocket was sent flying towards the car. The impact seemed almost instant. The car blew up in a small ball of fire. Smoke rose from the flaming vehicle. One of the group members quickly rushed forward with a bottle of white spray paint. On the pavement, they sprayed the anarchist symbol. After the group saw this, they quickly dispersed away from the car in all directions. Their mission was a total success, with Michal perishing in the explosion. Firdeck quickly began to devise his next plan while running away.

Timberans To The Federal Republic Of Ostreich

Timbera has noticed the recent problems in FRO, and has decided to give a helping hand to a ally of ours. Timbera will be shipping 12,000 soldiers to the capital Nienhagen. The soldiers will work in combined efforts to resolve the issues going down in FRO. The shipment will also contain
250 t-72m1 tanks that are 1980-1983 production runs. There will also be 850 T-55am tanks that are 1984-1997 production runs. The tanks will be given to FRO for them to use. The tanks are combat ready from surplus warehouses in Timbera from the city of Jizni Mesto. The tanks are practically in new condition being refurbished in 2001 and have been collecting dust since. The tanks have new paint jobs of the Timberan tiger stripe camouflage. The army used these tanks in training exercises and have never seen combat. The t-55ams feature a 100mm rifled cannon while the T-72m1s feature a 125mm smooth bore cannon.

Pvt. Vašek Matěj: "I cannot wait to be deployed, recently we have just been sitting around on our asses now we actually get to do something. I am also glad that i get to serve my country in an actual time of need. We really need to take action and help the Ostreich people."

FRO PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Last week the 3 new coal mines near Nienhagen reached full operational status and are ready to supply the new coal fired powerplants being constructed. With the coal mines operating at full capacity there is now enough coal to run 2 of the corvettes that are being refurbished in Nienhagen which should be ready in a month assuming no delays. Yesterday Timbera sent 12,000 soldiers to the capital and has generously gifted us 850 T-55AMs which will go towards the war effort against the Kingdom of Ikoryoma.

KEITELS OSTREICH PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Tomorrow a military training exercise is planned on the southern border with the FRO and will include an artillery barrage on a mock FRO village. A few days ago the 11th motorised division returned home after the defeat of Hokubuhon and have gained valuable experience in fighting against enemies with modern weapons. Next week a military parade will be held in Giensenschwand and will include some of the most powerful weapon systems in our army such as the Sabretooth 2 heavy tank which recently got a new more powerful engine.

With the recent response from the Dolphik government regarding conflict in Suriog, the Dolphik state has tarnished its reputation as one granting popular sovereignty to all its peoples. The CDN as a body stands for democracy around the world, yes, but first and foremost democracy in the nations that supposedly align themselves with it. This is evident from our name, our goals, and our actions abroad; yet the Dolphik state contradicts this aspiration. As a whole, then, the United Kingdom of Dolphiland and the CDN cannot see eye-to-eye on the issue of Suriog and its popular sovereignty. As this issue is so relevant to our core values, this announcement indicates the formal removal of Dolphiland from the CDN, effective immediately. Any joint efforts which exist primarily on the grounds of CDN co-operation are to be terminated by the end of the month.

Acceptance of the Edusan Request to Join the CDN
The nation of Edusa has requested to join the CDN and after careful consideration and a vote of all involved, Edusa has been accepted. With this acceptance come economic benefits, a defense agreement, and agreements over technology sharing. The CDN and Edusa hope to both gain from this deal, and we welcome Edusa in with open arms. National Announcement

Greetings.
As some of you may already be aware, the membership of the United Kingdom in the CDN has recently been terminated following tensions over Suroig. Know that we are disappointed in the CDN for this overreaction to simple caution over the risks of attempting to hold a referendum whilst the province is in a state of emergency, and that, once the situation in the province stabilizes, we would be open to reaching an agreement with the people of Suroig as to the political status of their province. Until that time however, it remains the opinion of the United Kingdom of Dolphiland that, as per law, all referendums are to be suspended until the province of Suroig is no longer in a state of emergency. As stated before, we are disappointed in the CDN, and believe that it has erred in choosing to pursue and enforce blind idealism without regard for the legal codes and political situations in it's member states, instead of acknowledging said situations and adopting a policy of realpolitik, it has instead chosen to pursue such idealism to an extent where clashes both with it's member states and with non-CDN actors on the international stage are but inevitable.

Given that the constitutional and legal documents under which the provincial government of Suroig operate specify that referendums are to be suspended during a state of emergency such as the one it finds itself in, not only would complying with the CDN's demand be bowing to an unwarranted intrusion into the politics of it's member states, it would also be in violation of the legal framework under which our governmental systems operate, and a government that openly violates it's own governing codes would be in violation of it's right to govern it's citizens, for how can the citizenry put any trust into a government which openly violates it's own constitutional principles merely to please foreigners? If a government conducts such violations at the behest of foreigners, why not conduct them to pursue it's own goals? This would inevitably lead to such a government oppressing and disregarding the rights of it's citizens. As such it is not merely the right, but the duty of all governments to obey the constitutional and legal codes which guide them, although should such codes nonetheless lead to violations of kerbal rights it is within the rights of the citizens to rise up and replace such codes with ones that protect and respect their rights.

Some might claim this is what the PFS (People's Front of Suroig) and other such unlawful organizations are trying to do in Suroig, but we believe that our actions are rightful, for it is the duty of the government to act not only in the defense of the rights of it's people, but in the defense of the people themselves, as the rights to life and well-being are amongst the most important, the most sacred rights of all, and that the government has a right to do what it necessary to protect these rights, even if it requires the suspension of other, less-important rights, although that is not to say that these rights are not also important, but rather, that, if strictly necessary, they can be suspended in order to protect citizen's aforementioned rights to life and well-being, provided that they re-instated once their suspension is no longer necessary. It is as such that we believe the present state of emergency, and with it the suspension of certain rights, is justified, as allowing those rights to continue during a situation warranting a state of emergency would impede the measures necessary to protect the well-being of the citizenry.

This is why referendums are, at present, suspended, as they carry with them a multitude of risks threatening the well being of the citizenry, not only are they logistically hard to conduct in such an unstable enviroment, but the potential controversy could merely incite further violence and other such risks to the common citizenry, and the process of carrying them out could impede, as stated before, the measures necessary to protect the well-being of the citizenry. Therefore, as stated before, the United Kingdom of Dolphiland will continue to suspend all referendums until the present state of emergency is over, at which time they will be resumed and we will work with the people of Suroig to find a solution acceptable to both them and United Kingdom. Additionally, we will once again state our disagreement for the CDN's pursuit of blind idealism whilst ignoring the political situations of it's member states, and it's unwarranted interference with the politics of it's member states. Nonetheless, we hope to be able to continue good relations with all CDN member states, and look forward to future cooperation between the CDN and the United Kingdom of Dolphiland.

Police Upgrades

The Timberan government has given the police force surplus BTR-60's and BDRM-2's. these armored vehicles will help the police in the future deal with issues. within this year 12 police officers have been killed on duty, 8 out of the 12 were killed in their squad car by a bullet through the window. these new vehicles will hopefully cut down on police deaths. the BTR-60's and BDRM-2's will get painted blue and will be fitted with lights and sirens. Quote Timberan head of police "Hopefully since these vehicles are more intimidating it will help cut down on crime by scaring criminals."

More Troops To Ostreich

The Timberan army is deploying 20,000 more soldiers to FRO in the capital Nienhagen. The army is also deploying 25 T-72m4-cz's and 200 BVP-2's for motor rifle squads and armored units. The army will also deploy 100 BM-21 GRAD's. The government is giving FRO half of the old police patrol cars. the patrol cars are 1993 Jeep Cherokee's with sirens and lights. FRO will be receiving 1500 patrol cars. FRO will use the patrol cars for their own police force.

Coal Production At All Time High

Coal production is at its all time high in Timbera due to recent Coal mine opening in southern Timbera. Coal production an estimated 25,000,000 tons per year in southern region. The coal mine will create 6,000 jobs.

The oil tanker Galeta was doing another routine trip from southern Ostrokhan to Kranas Oil Refinery through the Sekap Strait to deliver 70,000 tonnes of crude oil, 10,000 tonnes less than maximum capacity. A rough storm is bearing down on the strait and the tankers captain had a choice to make, wait out the storm and deliver the shipment late, or to sail through the storm and deliver on time. The captain choose the second.

"Captain, are you certain it is the best idea to shoot the straitin this storm?" The first mate said to the captain on the bridge of the Galeta

"I am certain it will be fine, by the time we pass through the strait we will be in the clear, unless that storm cell grows. The ship can handle this rough weather"

A colossal wave hits the front of the ship as it power through the rough ocean, sending a wall of water to hit the bridge window

"Crap that's a big wave. That's what I am worried about captain, I am sure the ship can make it through, but we might get taken off course by these waves"

"Even though we cant see, we do have the GPS, all we need to do is follow the line and not run aground. We will be through this storm by tomorrow, These rough waves will die down by then as well. Lets get this boat to Kranas on time."

"Yes sir"

The Galeta continued to power through the rough waves and into the strait, with waves battering the ship. The ship creaks and groans under the storm, which hopefully would weaken soon

We appreciate that you have chosen to confer with us before beginning the offensive, and we are in favour of the plan overall.
We agree that while the offensive is in play we will halt extraction of Anderian forces, however we will not send
further troops to aid in the Ostreich war. We also agree to purchase the loyalty of Corgelian mercenary forces in the area, in
exchange for a 10 year lease on the coast-to-coast railroad to avoid confrontations in the Ithakan strait. We also agree to
act as a mediator between the Democratic Republic of the Ostreich and the Keitel administration. We ask that you do not rule
out granting them full sovereignty at the end of hostilities in the country.

Troop redeployments for the offensive will be complete between 8 and 12 days, and we estimate that under optimal conditions
the offensive will be complete in 2 months.



Anderian armour will be split into two groups. Army Group South will have the majority of the tanks, and will be placed on
defensive positions on the border with Klathu. Army Group North will move to meet up with our two positions and establish a
stronger supply line amongst them.

A majority of the Infantry Divisions deployed in the Ostreich as well as most of the volunteers will also be assigned to Army
Group North, with the remaining infantry divided amongst Army Group South and Army Group West.

The Army Airborne Forces will be deployed by air over CDN deployed area accompanied by escort, and should issues escalate they
will be forced to abandon the plan.

The Strategic Missile Command will utilize a series of cruise missile installations to destroy major infrastructure (power,
rail, and road) which will be followed up by the use of drones to eliminate other strategic targets.

Overall, we suspect that combat in the areas outside of FRO administration will be minimal, and should the Meridan Treaty
choose to involve themselves we will take advantage of their limited force projection capabilities and attempt to eliminate
Klathu at the soonest opportunity, leaving the FRO largely defenseless as ships from the Tutzing Islands (a carrier group with
a Cĕszinski Class) will be deployed to harass what force projection the MT is capable of. Further, if things begin to look
poor on the front, we will consider the authorization of napalm and chemical weapons usage and will loosen our restrictions
on attacking civilian centers if we believe a strategic edge could be gained.

Excalibur 1 Project

The Excalibur 1 main battle tank(MBT) is a variation of the Challenger 2 MBT design that is lighter, cheaper, and more efficient and includes several technologies and designs already used in other Ostreich and Klathuian vehicles. The Excalibur 1 tank uses a simplified and cheaper variation of the Kerstol armour used on the Klathuian Defender MBT and utilises several designs and technologies taken from the Ostreich Jaguar 3 MBT such as the smoke systems and ERA. The tank also features a new highly efficient engine designed by the KGOF. One of the main features of the Excalibur 1 tank is the new gun being designed by a joint team of FRO and Klathuian engineers which is a 100mm gun that uses an enlarged powder charge to increase the velocity of the round but the tank can utilise a variety of guns including but not limited to: a 105mm L7, an IVS 120mm L/65 smoothbore, an L30 120mm rifled gun, an L-1V 125mm L/50 smoothbore, a Stahlschwert 135mm, and an IVS 140mm L/52. Currently 3 prototype tanks and 2 prototype turrets for the 135mm and 140mm guns exist and are currently undergoing trials at the New Frontier Military Base in Klathu.

Oil tanker Galeta, Southern tip of Aquarius, 6/18/19

The Galeta powered through the storm and the strait last night, roughing it through the waves as the storm increased in intensity, opposite of what the forecast said. In the rough weather the GPS mast was put out of service by a rough wave that disconnected it from the system, and no one brave enough wanted to go out in the horrible conditions to go and fix it. Instead the crew had to rely on the backup system, that is quite unreliable on the Galeta, and by traditional navigation. Unbeknownst to the crew the storm pushed the ship slightly further north then they were supposed to. This slight change in course put the tanker on a direct course to collide with the southern tip of Aqaurius.

Hanging on in the Bridge the first mate and the captain were attempting to navigate the ship in the rough waves "This is the exact opposite of what the forecast said"

"I know, I know, Just a few more hours then we will be in the clear, we are" A large wave batters the front of the ship covering the entire deck with a sheet of water for a few seconds "Only a few more hours of this. We are almost there and we will be a little behind schedule"

The Galeta continues to go on its present course, straight into the south of Aquarius. The crew doe not have a visual contact with the land. Yet.

"Captain, that is land there, we are going right at it. Crap, we are going straight into that. It looks about 3 kilometers away"

"Helms, full turn starboard, full speed. Avoid the land. I will not run this ship aground"

As the ship began to turn starboard, the storm had other opinions, The waves pushed the ship back onto a collision course with the rocky shore. There was no saving the Galeta.

"We aren't turning, the waves have pushed us back onto a collision course with the shore. It looks to be around 2 kilome "

"Seal the oil bulkheads, continue the turn. We will avoid the shore, if its the last thing I do." The captain of the Galeta exclaimed while the ship creaked and groaned in the waves

The captains efforts were in vain. The ship did not hit the shore though, and instead had a collision with a large underground rock, tearing through the bottom of the ship, tearing through the cargo storage. A colossal groan and scraping sound was heard throughout the ship and it began to list to the port side, with the Crude oil spilling out

"Sir, we have hit something, crap the ships listing. We have to abandon ship"

The sound of breaking metal is heard throughout the ship

"You are right, We need to abandon ship"

The captain pulls on the throttle to set the speed to 0

The Captain picked up the shipwide intercomm and gave the order "All hands abandon ship. I repeat All hands abandon ship"

He then called the coast guard "Mayday, Mayday. This is the crude oil tanker Galeta, we have run aground and are listing to the port side, I repeat we have run aground and are listing to the port side. We have begun to abandon ship. I repeat we have begun to abandoned ship."

The crew quickly made their way into the life boats on the ship, as it continued to list more to the port, spilling its cargo out into the stormy ocean. 70,000 tonnes of crude begun to spill. The crew did manage to escape with their lives, barely. When the lifeboat was launched the ship was almost tipping over under the weight of the water in the hull and the waves battering it.

My comments do not represent the CDN, but the Dolphik national announcement cannot go without rebuke, for fear of few questioning its accuracy. To begin with, it entirely mischaracterizes the issue by supposing that the state of emergency is not caused by the lack of referendum. In fact, this is entirely false; the crisis in Suriog is caused by the refusal of the Dolphik state to provide a referendum and as such, certain individuals have formed a group of revolutionaries who generate unrest. Our stance is not that such a group is justified but rather that they will be pacified by a vote, to be clear.

The actions of the Dolphik state in Suriog are not rightful as the only threat to the right to life and well-being continues to exist only due to the inaction of the Dolphik state. As a result, if the Dolphik state actually intended to protect the rights of the populace and the populace themselves, they would grant a referendum to their people. As such, how can one say that the withholding of a referendum protects the right of life when the withholding of such a referendum in fact infringes upon such a right?

Co-operation is still favorable between CDN nations and Dolphiland. This statement is not meant to disparage that; it is meant to provide all the information to anyone forming an opinion on the issue. Thank you for your time.”

A new firearms factory has opened called Pobrezi Arsenal. The Pobrezi Arsenal will be located in the city of Pobrezi . The Pobrezi Arsenal is civilian owned and sells commercial firearms. They have said they will produce AR15 platform rifles and ar10 platforms for civilian use. An estimated 500 jobs will be created from the founding of this company. The company has also stated they will make firearm optics and other accessories.

Tibor Chemical Protective Gear

The T.C.P.G has now upped their production of the FM53 and the M50 Joint Service Respirator. They will be Expanding their Factories to new locations. The new factories will be located in Vozny, Sabor and Pusta. An estimated 2500 new jobs will need to be filled in these factories. The old T.C.P.G factory was aging and could not meet the requirements of government and commercial contracts of production. With the construction of the new factories the T.C.P.G will be able to produce 30x the amount of respirators in a single week.

Haven't been able to journal for a while. CivPol was working a case or something in the apartment next to mine, and not a second went by when I wasn't scared for my life; that they would burst through the door and find the lone page tucked beneath the floorboards of my closet. I was even tempted to burn the damn thing. I don't know why I was scared; they say if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear, and this seems legal enough. Thank the Chairman they didn't pay me a visit. I haven't had anything other than those godawful noodles at the lab since I ran out of food here again last Wednesday. Nothing out-of-the-ordinary in the last two weeks. Tomiko kept us all on edge; the intern was apparently a spy for the Ostreich. Jun, I think his name was. A shame, really. He was a talented kid. Sometimes I wonder why we're doing what we're doing at the lab, but I never ask. It's pointless; I'll only get myself watch-listed, and it's not like I'm going to get anything more satisfactory than improving the lives of our comrades and to protecting the motherland. Anyway, we've made lots of progress since I last wrote, enough to satisfy Tomiko, at least. We got the weekend off. By some miracle Kaito and Min were off the same weekend too. Used up all my monthly credit on the round-trip ticket to Hanjin and the night at the hotel. It was nice to get away from the bustle of Jejin for a change and experience the chaos of somewhere else. It was nice to see friends, though. It was the closest to happy I'd been in a long time.

Where is Our Space Program Going?

An anonymous source from inside the Qusmosi space program has indicated to us that a flight to the Mun is in the works. The purpose of the flight is as of yet unknown, but test firings of a chemical rocket were observed near Matthews Space Technology Centre a few months ago. These test firings were indicative of a quite powerful rocket, considering their size, and it’s likely that the engines being fired are not the same fuel type as those of the past. The same source also confirmed an eventual mission to Duna, and the purpose of such a mission is likely one which has been considered in the past. Numerous plans from the 1990s exist to establish permanent infrastructure on Duna as a way of extending Kerballed flight further throughout the system. It seems that this mission to Duna will be pursuing similar goals in that the engines being tested are likely to be more efficient than those of old, meaning more payload can be carried with the same amount of fuel.
Update: After being contacted by the Agency for Exploration of Space, we’ve been provided with some new information. It follows below.

The Mun mission is intended for gathering beryllium and water and testing the feasibility of in-situ resource utilization.
The Duna mission is, indeed, intended for establishment of long-term launching platforms on other worlds.
Flights for both are expected within the next two weeks, as long as rocket fabrication stays on schedule.

The Hikodo Class CVB 'INS Hikodo' has been seized and will be towed to Heruland for refitting. The ship has been rechristened 'HRS Louise I'.
The under-construction Clausen class CVB named 'HRS Clausen' has been canceled. Some utilities built for the ship will be mounted on 'HRS Louise I'.
A new carrier-based 4th gen aircraft for the 'HRS Louise I' will begin development.
A generational update for the Flapjack airframe will begin development, aiming to feature low observable technology.

Brady Michael stood upon the podium at the rally. Supporters and neutrals alike had come to see him speak in the relatively chaotic city of Huskaria. At the designated time, he began to speak. "Welcome, my glorious citizens, and thank you for coming today. Our country is in great peril. The CWRM attempts to destroy our glorious government, and everything we civilized people have done. We shall show them the war they want. We shall obliterate their traitorous ways in one final victory, and our great empire will destroy the damned bolsheviks and false democrats who oppose us at every turn. Our empire will be remembered for ages as the triumphant righteous force against the evils of communism and the inhuman capitalists. Once again, we remind you to report local CWRM members, to further our cause of destroying the vermin." The speech continued, but as he continued to talk, a figure snaked through the crowd. He had one thought through the whole process: "Death to the empire, long live the revolution!" His lips ached to say the words, and he grew ever closer to the front, positioning himself just to the left of the Grand Minister. Meanwhile, Brady Michael noticed this hooded figure moving through the crowd, he was no fool. He grew ever more wary of the pistol on his hip, with one hand being lowered closer to it.

The stranger grabbed his homemade pistol, knowing he only had one shot with the inaccurate gun. He began to aim, and pulled the trigger. However, rather than the bullet hitting its mark, the PVC barrel, which he had been assured would be capable of withstanding the force of the shot, instead blew up in his hand. Brady Michael, knowing full well who had fired, whipped out his pistol and fired two accurate shots into the man. The assassin fell backwards and began to bleed on the ground. Brady Michael put his pistol back, and spoke again. "And that, my friends, is what will happen to those who oppose our great empire. We shall show them no mercy, destroy their failed governments, and free their people from their oppressive yoke."

RAIDER PROGRAM UPDATE

After several months, construction of the Raider Gun is still ongoing. The specifications have been hard to meet, but it has been done. The 156 
meter long barrel is capable of military use, but is highly impractical due to the rate of fire and large size. The 1 meter bore of the cannon will be the
main limiting factor of the cannon, meaning probes will need to be slim and capable of withstanding the G-forces.

Galeta Oil Spill
Earlier this week the crude oil tanker Galeta was wrecked off the southern coat of Aquarius in severe storms. The tanker spilled an estimated 70,000 tonnes of crude oil into the water and onto the shore of Aquarius. Severe ecosystem damage is also expected in the affected areas as well and is not expected to recover until cleanup operations have finished. To assist in the cleanup and in the investigation of the wreckage, the Coast Guard and volunteers will be sent to help the Aquarian government clean up the oil spill. No one on the Galeta was hurt when the ship was wrecked, and the crew has since been recovered and is being asked questions about the wreck.

In other news independent Candidate Yerik Erzhanev has been revealed by the VDPF to have had previous ties with the leaders notorious Lorbic Imperial Front, who killed late President Uteng and caused chaos in the government. In the polls his popularity has dropped from 60% to down to 20% becasue of this newly uncovered knowledge of his political dealings with these traitors. If this continues until the final elections on July 8th it is unlikely he will end up winning and the more preffered Miister Krenos will become the new president of Mon Faira.

The Security treaty that binds Anderia, Traestan, Sellen, and Barkadia together has been expanded. Zhioubin has been brought on as a signatory state, and the United Kingdom of Dolphiland has come with Anderia, Sellen, and Traestan to form the Greater Andolian Concordat (of which the Security Treaty will be a subsidiary). Dolphiland and sellen will both be members on a probationary basis until the crisis on Suroig is concluded. The Concordat and the Security Treaty are not necessarily the same, Dolphiland will be a member of the Concordat but has not signed the Security Treaty. Furthermore, we are proud to announce the expansion of our primary base on Eve.
