The Master, Malak al-Mawt, looked down calmly from the eye slot of his veiled face. "Not the most talkative is he?" he asked the Courier. "He is when you hurt him" came the reply, "hence the missing finger".

"Good" said Malak al-Mawt, "then he still has nine more fingernails to be removed first, if that doesn't work we'll move on to the other fingers themselves". He motioned and two large fighters, an Arab-Nchiyamengian and a Njengi, held Mark and forcefully held out his left hand. A burly Busetsu man with a small pair of surgical scissors. He placed the edge of point of the scissors under the fingernail of Mark's left ring finger and used them to begin to dislodge the nail before pulling it off with his other hand and dropping it in the dirt. The pain was sharp, but by no means unbearable

As the Busetsu moved on to the next finger, Malak al-Mawt said "it is really not such a hard question Mark" holding up the photo of Zoie in front of him, "do you want to see your sweet Zoie again? None of this pain is necessary if you just answer my questions?"

Friday the 16th of December 2016:

Today the GI attacked a mosque in an essentially pro-rebel protestor controlled part of the slums of the officially loyalist held city of Ciudadelapalma during prayer. The mosque is one frequented by more moderate Muslims considered loyal to the MSI and some to the PLD.

The terrorists posed as Muslim civilians arriving for prayer before revealing concealed guns and massacring those present. They them detonated explosives, killing themselves and devastating the interior of the mosque, after a battle with a force of pro-rebel Muslim and Christian protestors who mobilised and marched on the mosque to kill or capture the terrorists.

From an unknown location General Muhammad Bondaro, leader of the MSI, stated that "these are the actions of vile monsters. No Muslim, indeed no human being would commit such an atrocious and terrible act. We must all stand united, Muslim and Christian alike, against these savage killers".

General Muhammad Bondaro also stated that the fact that it was pro-rebel protestors, and not the loyalist military or police, who took out the terrorists further entrenched that the Kampiya Regime "does not care about Muslims" and that it is "steadily loosing all control over the nation of Nchiyamengi, and that the citizens are rising up to take responsibility for their own fate and future".

51 civilians, 9 terrorists and 14 armed protestors have so far been reported dead as a result of the massacre and the ensuing battle in and around the mosque. 6 of the 14 armed protestors killed taking out the terrorists are Christians, the remaining dead are Muslims.

They were on the ground in a small village. There were two Atlas soldiers who had more or less taken charge of the opperation. He was helping then loyalist Col. Walk up to the other to loyalists. After he was done with that he took his protective vest off and changed into a T shirt. He slid the pads back over his head and tightened them up again before walking up to the Nichimengi officer that was leading this search party.
"When do we get going?"

Lt Pixistick. In the village
He was slowly following the cpl. He held his M4a1 loosely. He was wearing civies under his vest. He felt like a terrorist without his uniform on. Now all he needed was a Ak47 and a balaclava and he would be set. He wanted this whole thing to be over but he knew it wouldn't. The noise of the helicopter toook off once more this time without them.

Agent Brown, wearing a tatty old blue Torch Bearers (the National Soccer team) Soccer Shirt, faded jeans, a grey hoodie and tatty old takkies, carefully pushed his handgun into a holster mostly concealed by the hoodie. "Now" he said rather simply.

Once the helicopter had taken off they began to walk along a small jungle path. The group of mostly special forces and Ministry of National Security agents were all on high alert. There were about 30 of them, all dressed in civvies and all with concealed handguns and knives.

After about 3 hours walking without incident they stopped by the treeline near a village, still concealed from it. Agent Brown took out a cellphone and spoke on it briefly. A few minutes later and an old portly Busetsu woman in her 80s came hobbling out in their general direction with a large empty steel bucket balanced ontop of her head. Once she was out of sight o the village Agent Brown went over to her and brought her over to their position.

Agent Brown passed the bucket to one of the special forces soldiers. "Take this bucket and go to the river and fill it up with water, then bring it back here. 4 of you go with him and stay alert. Try not be seen". The 5 soldiers headed off. Agent Brown turned to one of his operatives, "pass me the map" he commanded. "Yes sir" said the man and withdrew a large satellite map of a large area of central Nchiyamengi with coloured markings and notes drawn on it.

"Ok mama" said Agent Brown to the old lady, "where did you say you had seen the signs. The old lady pushed a pair of rusty old glasses up her nose and looked down at the map. She pointed to a small yellow outline. "A worker from the Nanyarikanda plantation stumbled into the village about a week ago, he said that fighters came and killed everyone and raided the house and plantation for food, clothes, everything. He didn't know if they were GI or not be he assumes so. They had child soldiers with them".

Agent Brown made a note. "How many?" he asked. The old lady shrugged, "30, 50, 100, who can say? A man fleeing in terror doe not count well". Agent Brown made a note anyway, but looked displeased.

"What else" he asked. The old lady pointed to a small yellow dot drawn on the map and said "they are saying in the village that no one has heard from the Bayatenga family for weeks, even though they should have come in to get their supplies. No one has dared go look there but we assume they were raided and killed or taken". Agent Brown made a note and circled the point in red with a marker. "Those are the illegal prospecting family panning for gold in the river right?" he asked. "Yes" came the reply.

"Alright what else?" he asked. The old lady pointed to a white line on the map. "Somewhere along the road between Majiramti and Kokotomkondo a food truck got raided. Some boys found the wreckage". "Can you be more specific on where?" asked Agent Brown. The old lady thought for a long moment. "I think it was close to the bridge here" she said, pointing to a place where the white line crossed a blue one, "the boys had said something about that, but they couldn't be much more specific". Agent Brown drew a long red oval around the point and added a red question mark, and made a note.

"Anything more?" he asked. The old lady said "I heard a rumour of a group of boys vanishing near Kijanijani. They might just be runaways or lost, but there is a good chance they were taken to be child soldiers. The villagers there are preparing for the worst". Agent Brown made a note.

"And you mama, are you not scared?" "I am an old woman" she said, "my children and grandchildren are all dead, far away or missing. My husband vanished decades ago, dead or in some other woman's bed. I have the gun you gave me ready and in my hut if they come for me. I am not afraid of death. I am ready for him". Agent Brown smiled at the comment. "Anything else to report he asked?"

The old lady thought a while and then said "apparently some goats went missing down by the valley of the Haraka river" she pointed to a blue line in a valley. "Maybe they ran off, maybe they were taken, who knows if by thieves or terrorists. All else I can tell you is what I feel in my bones. With all the afternoon storms the terrorists are probably in a cave in one of the mountains within this area. That is all I have".

"Thank you mama" said Agent Brown. "As promised" he said, and he handed her a few slabs of chocolate, a few boxes of cigarettes and a battered old copy of the book"Anil's Ghost" by Michael Ondaatje, all of which she tucked into her dress. He then took out two cigarettes of his own and gave her one, before lighting one up for each of them.

"Otherwise how have you been mama?" he asked. "Old and stiff" she said between puffs, "but not dead yet". They spoke for a little while and then the soldiers returned with the bucket. Agent Brown got out a bottle of brandy from one of the other soldiers backpacks and put it into the bucket.

"Until next time mama" he said, and hugged her, "stay safe". She hugged him and said "you too mwana, and if you find those fuckers who killed my son and his family, make sure you make their deaths slow and painful". "I will" he promised. The old lady put out the stub of the cigarette Agent Brown had given her and picked up the heavy large bucket of river water, and the bottle of brandy within and Agent Brown helped balance it on her head. She placed her hands on it to help keep it stable and then slowly plodded off back towards her village and her hut.

Agent Brown then said, "alright, let us go have a look at the Nanyarikanda plantation first and see if we can find out anything from what remains there. It will be about another 6 hour walk".

00:47am - Saturday the 17 of December 2017:

Combined Rebel forces have launched a full scale assault on the city of Mjiwadhahabuu, the capital of Mlimayamaisha Province, the second largest city in the nation and a city just about 2 hours drive from the national capital of Puertazul. Loyalist forces still fiercely the city and the airforce is giving what support it can to the forces on the ground. In the dark of the early morning in a city which has had its electricity cut by rebel attacks on power plants and power lines, that ability is limited, particularly once rebels are in the city.

Loyalist forces have set up their own barricades and defenses however, and they intend to make the rebels pay the blood price for every building, block and street of the city.

I need you to send an official request for a meeting in your nation to try find a diplomatic way forward to re-establish trade. Whether you say it is for economic reasons or peacekeeping reasons I don't care, although my superiors will be more likely to approve if they are economic. I need you to invite myself and my family to attend. No rebels can be invited or else my superiors will never agree. With luck we will all be able to attend. Once we arrive safely and are taken to a safe location I will officially hand myself over to you. I will give you everything I have, I just need you to keep my family safe.

If my family cannot come for whatever reason, if my superiors see through this and refuse to let them attend, I cannot hand myself over and the meeting will have to go ahead as if all was normal.

Please do this for my family, I will give you everything I have.

She was relieved, there was a chance that they could save members of the Kampiya Regime if they worked hard. What they needed to to was host an economic conference in Albatan, with the purpose of having rigorous discussion and negotiation over lifting some of the economic sanctions over Nchiyamengi, while simultaneously helping people at risk of being executed if and when the rebellion took hold of the country. She decided to just invite anyone who would come and their families.

Good morning Sebastián,

After some discussion at the Ministry of Trade we have decided to invite you, and anyone else who would need to attend to a conference regarding diplomacy and the economics sanctions between Nchiyamengi and Albatan. This will be a very long conference and as such we would like to invite your families to stay in Skyline City for the duration of the conference. Myself, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Foreign Affairs will be attending.

I hope that through mutual understanding, in depth research, and reasoning that we can reach an agreement that will be more beneficial to our nations without the need for a blunt embargo. Invite as many people of importance as you can, we will need as much input as possible to make the most educated decision we can.

Thank you for your co-operation,

To the honourable Diana McGuffy, Minister of Trade of the Kingdom of Albatan

I thank you for taking up this position, trade and good relations between our two nations will be of massive mutual benefit and shall help ensure that peace and prosperity are able to reign. I shall raise this issue with Presidente Marcos Kampiya himself and with the entire upper cabinet. I am quite sure thatthey shall see the benefit of such a diplomatic action to rebuild and restore what I am absolutely certain will be a long and close friendship between our two nations.

I am also deeply greatful for the invitation for my family to attend. It is indeed true that the nature of such discussions may be lengthy and it would be of great comfort to me to have the close support of my ever loving family behind me during such a mission. My wife Catalina, my daughters Alicia, Susana and Isabel and my son Tiago would be delighted to attend.

I shall make sure to inform you of the decision made by leadership as soon as possible. I thank you again.

It had been awhile since Nation of Warfare had got involved in the conflict in Nchiyamengi. The Supreme Chancellor had promised to send troops to the nation to fight off the political parties that threatened the national government. The Supreme Chancellor and 2 other world leaders gathered in a secret board room that can only be accessed by the Supreme Chancellor. The three leaders sat in their seats preparing for their new campaign to expand their secret empires. The board was hidden from the government and the public. So, the leaders began to communicate with each other.

Frank Velasquez III- "This conflict has been going on for quite sometime, but soon it will be over."

Secret Man #1- "What are you proposing if I may ask?"

Frank Velasquez III- "Once the war draws to a close, we will send troops to fight off the remaining rebels in the nation. After that is complete, we will strike the standing government and bring it to its knees. If we send troops now. By the time the war is over, we will have enough troops to strike the government and its military. The military wouldn't stand a chance, due to its healing of all the fighting. With the whole nation secured, our military presence will be so great that we will prevent any nation who attempts to liberate it."

Secret Man #2- "Sounds great."

Frank Velasquez III- 'You two will deploy your forces overtime, one by one. Once more our pact will rule the world! [Fading]And we shall have peace."

Frank Velasquez III- "The end of the war is near."

About a week ago:

Pedro Gatola states that after what happened with the smuggling of weapons in along with medical aid, the Red Crystals from the Green Union may not be allowed to enter Nchiyamengi, or else will be far more carefully watched and searched, especially giving escalating violence. He promises to use any influence he has left to try ensure they are allowed entry and that Njengi moderates engage in peacekeeping and medical aid missions for Busetsu refugees along with Njengi.

Lucas Taiunyoya and Mfalme Mazibinde promise to use what influence they have left to do the same to pouch for more aid for refugees in the country fleeing violence.

The FPRL, MSI, PLD and PSP agree to use the territory they are slowly gaining in and around the rebel held city of Puertoplátano and the town of Mpolebonde as a safe zone for refugees fleeing violence in the loyalist parts of the country, but insist on seizing any weapons carried by these groups unless they join the rebel forces or rebel regulated "Democracy Militia".

All sides have suggested starting engaging in discussing the groundwork for a new constitution in a post-Kampiya Nchiyamengi, arguing that such a constitution would need to establish democracy, open multi-party elections, freedom of religion, and no discrimination on the grounds of race, gender or religion.

Here openly lesbian poet and activist Yamdina Malapiyo makes an effort to state that there should be no discrimination based on sexual orientation either enshrined in such a constitution. Here Imam Saafir Kalidi is quick to say that if by this she means a constitution that enshrines gay marriage he would not support such a motion, and that he doubts his party would either, he does say that is by this she means banning and coming down hard on those who murder homosexuals, he would happily support a constitution that entrenched such a rule of law. Miguel Tapyaro suggests that these details be worked out in separate discussions, and a planned conference in Xixoxana, the capital of Zaxumadi, after this conference, to discuss solely the ground work of such a constitution is agreed to.

On the matter of the Sevillian peacekeepers, Miguel Tapyaro states that many in his party and many Busetsus have no faith in these so called keepers of the peace. Tapyaro states that the bombing of a dominantly Busetsu town by the Sevillian airforce has completely removed their faith in their ability to run any peacekeeping mission.

Lucas Taiunyoya here agrees, but states that it may be difficult to get another nation to lead such a peacekeeping coalition, stating that Kampiya will almost certainly not trust one led by the Green Union after it was revealed weapons had been smuggled in with medical supplies. He suggests putting pressure on the government to withdraw all foreign forces, and to instead send only medics, and to insist that such medics are allowed into rebel held territory (which the loyalist military has as a no go area).

Adán Kusemponwenya states that this sounds good in theory but that Kampiya will never allow it, and suggests instead that medics and medical supplies be tried to be smuggled into rebel held areas, along with food and water.

Miguel Tapyaro states that more weapons will also need to be smuggled in, as "there will be no peace while Kampiya remains". Here Lucas Taiunyoya cautions that such a move could cause more violent Busetsu insurgents to get hold of weapons, worsening the violence, and that it will cement a refusal by Kampiya to allow any supplies into rebel areas, including medical supplies, food and water, for fear weapons will be sent with them. Here Miguel Tapyaro insists that such weapons should only be directed to rebel forces rather than to officially unaligned pro-rebel Busetsu insurgents, and states that Kampiya will almost certainly not allow any supplies into rebel held areas anyway.

During the discussion the Calen royals state that The Green Union's Parliament has informed them that it will not be sending more arms to Nchiyamengi, but the royals cannot confirm if this is heartfelt or not. A second humanitarian mission of combined Green Union NGOs is pending, but the government has agreed to not become directly involved until the reforms to the Loyalist Red Crystal are complete.

But at this time King Wolfe VI reels the discussion back in, stating “This is all well and good, but we do need to discuss how democracy will be achieved in the first place and what will be done to ensure the survival of democracy once this conflict has been concluded.” The king pauses for a sip of water, going on to talk about the uncertainties of attempting a democratic system in such a complicated nation as Nchiyamengi, fraught with isolated settlements and petty warlords who could take control of the ballot boxes in their territories.

“The current strategy,” Princess Yuula started tentatively, “that the government of The Green Union has drafted up, is one to allow an international peacekeeping mission into Nchiyamengi to end the violence and safekeep fair and open elections. But simply presenting this motion is likely to see it blocked by the Kampiya Regime and so a multi-step plan has been drafted.” The princess’ eyes darted around the table, concerned about how her impending proposition would go over. “Firstly, it is trusted that current trends will hold and Kampiya’s power will be drastically reduced by this rebel coalition to the point where neither he nor his party holds the political or military strength to refuse a United Nations intervention. This will then rely on your individual factions then accepting a UN peacekeeping mission, Green Union led or otherwise, to help return order to the slums and insurgent zones and allow for elections to take place. The peacekeeping mission will need to establish and maintain solid enough hold over enough of the”

Of course, as the princess was quick to point out, this plan has many potential pitfalls. Current trends may reverse and Kampiya gain a stranglehold from which to choke out dissent. One faction in the rebel coalition may suddenly gain considerable strength and choose to exert its dictatorial will over the others rather than submit to open elections. Loosely aligned rebel warlords may create their own splinter faction and carry on the bloody war. The peacekeeping mission may become bogged down by insurgents and fail to safeguard the democratic process. The elections themselves, assuming elections ever come again to Nchiyamengi, could be rigged or end up legitimately favouring one party en-masse, whom could then choose to seize power completely for themselves.

One can only pray this meeting will be able to decide on a collective way forward. The only certainty for the future of Nchiyamengi is that much will be uncertain.

[] The point at which a United Nations peacekeeping mission can be legally and effectively initiated in Nchiyamengi to safeguard the fair and open democratic process

Adán Kusemponwenya has stated that he would be greatly in favour of peacekeeper forces, but points out that so long as the loyalist navy controls Nchiyamengian waters the only aid that will be able to come in will have to either be smuggled in or go through with the approval of the regime itself. He therefore argues that all discussions of peacekeeping forces will have to wait either for the navy to revolt and change sides, surrender or allow such aid through, or if the Kampiya regime relents and allows through such aid if significant internal and external pressure can be placed upon them to do so.

Lucas Taiunyoya says he doubts Presidente Marcos Kampiya would ever agree to this, as it would probably end with him facing an international criminal tribunal for war crimes or else a national one, but argues that he will use what connections he has left to push for one, suggesting that Kampiya and many other top regime leaders may relent if they can be assured their lives and a relatively comfortable life sentence in a foreign jail rather than the death penalty, and assurance their families will be protected and kept in relative prosperity.

Miguel Tapyaro expresses his doubts that Kampiya will ever relent, and states that many Nchiyamengians will want him and his top leaders to face trial in Nchiyamengi and account for what they have done and face the full punishment of the law anyway. He states that in particular he doubts Ministro de Seguridad Nacional Pablo Museni will go down without a fight.

Isabel Kantayapi states that it is clear any international peacekeeping mission will, for now, have to go through the Kampiya regime. She states that smuggled aid and local peacekeeping is still vital however, and she will use her networks to encourage all the people of Nchiyamengi to help out those in need, beyond ethnic, party and religious lines.

She states that the best way forward will obviously be a situation wherein the Kampiya regime willingly surrenders and relinquishes power, but states that barring that they will need to be overthrown by force. She states that in either case Nchiyamengi will need a transitional government. She states that such a government shall require equal participation by all Nchiyamengian sides willing to engage in a peaceful transition to democracy, certainly all sides here, but also the UP and the PCAOL if they agree to come to the tabkle and genuinely negotiate.

Lucas Taiunyoya states that he is sure that once the Kampiya regime relents or is overthrown he will be able to unite the moderate and traditionalist factions and bring them to the table, with the help of Mfalme Mazibinde. Mazibinde agrees and states that if he can be restored to the throne he will use his influence as king and ceremonial leader of the Njengi people to bring as many as possible toward a peaceful transition. We cautions that the more militant Njengi nationalists may still reject him however in favour of Kampiya and those like him, as well as his great-nephew Hodari V. He states he believes he can win over Hodari and persuade him to relinquish his tenious claim to the throne and embrace reconciliation and democracy. He asks all those present to try ensure his great-nephew is not harmed, saying that he is still young and is being manipulated by powerful and ambitious nobles looking to increase their own power and by the extremists of the Kampiya regime.

Miguel Tapyaro states that when there is a transitional government there will need to be a transitional President, and states that as the largest party in the conflict General Antonio Hlayambinda should be that transitional President, suggesting that General Muhammad Bondaro of the MSI should be transitional Vice President to ensure both of the major faith groups in Nchiyamengi are represented in such a transitional government, as well as cementing a multiparty alliance towards such a peaceful transition.

Imam Muhammad Amzani states that he would need to check with party leadership, but he believes that they would support such a deal.

Pedro Gatola suggests that a Njengi should be in a high ranking position of a transitional government to ensure that one ethnic group is not dominant and to bring all Njengis to the negotiating table. He suggests that Lucas Taiunyoya should be acting transitional Vice President at the very least to ensure this is done.

Catalina Alfarero here suggests that multiple transitional Deputy Presidents be created, one from each of the major Nchiyamengian parties involved, and that they oversea these and other positions in a transitional government until elections can be called. She states that Adán Kusemponwenya should be one of those Deputy Presidents.

Yamdina Malapiyo suggests that a cooperative committee with one representative with equal power from each party oversea such a transition, and suggests that Catalina Dumisende represent the PSP.

Here Miguel Tapyaro disagrees. He states that it would probably be a good idea to have multiple transitional Deputy Presidents from each party agreeing to take part in a peaceful transition, but states that the nation needs a strong leader, a single figurehead, to rally behind and to represent and lead the nation through such a transition. He states that as the largest rebel group, that leader should clearly be General Antonio Hlayambinda. He also states that a Muslim, General Muhammad Bondaro, should be transitional Vice President, one ahead of the other transitional Deputy Presidents, stating that with the Christian and Busetsu Hlayambinda and the Muslim and as a half-Arab half-Njengi Bondaro the top two transitional positions will represent the majority of the nation.

There are some signs of disagreement here, particularly from Taiunyoya and Gatola, the PLD and the PSP.

Nation of warfare wrote:It had been awhile since Nation of Warfare had got involved in the conflict in Nchiyamengi.

OOC: Nope.

As stated before:

"I'd like to keep this as realistic as possible in the real world sense of it, as in no foreign nation becoming directly involved and as few large and / or futuristic nations as involved as possible. You can provide some military and / or financial backing to any of the sides involved, but keep it fairly minimal, don't send in your own forces and keep it realistic.

Trade sanctions and political isolation are good. Also, much like the real world Equatorial Guinea, the Kampiya regime are open to making a deal to have radioactive waste resulting from nuclear energy plants dumped in certain locations in the Republic in return for economic and political support".

OOC: Albatan has every right to respond or not to you. I know you have stated you are the third largest economic powerhouse in Asia, and we can view that as the case, but we can also take that with a grain of salt.

OOC: I was really busy with work yesterday so I'll do the info on what happened then now.

IC:
Sunday the 18th of December 2016:

GI terrorists today attacked a Sunday market in the capital of Puertazul near the Church of St Mary. The market had included many church goers who had gone to do some Christmas shopping after attending the morning service. The attack shows a slight change in tactics by the group, who were aware churches were being very carefully watched and protected due to fears of another terrorist attack. The larger market square provided more of an area to attack.

A large truck meant to be bringing meat supplies to the market was hijacked and the terrorists drove it into the market, while others attacked from multiple angles. As the crowd scattered the truck drove over many before detonating explosives inside as police, soldiers and militia moved in.

So far 129 civilians, 4 police, 1 soldier and 17 terrorists (including 8 child soldiers) have been confirmed dead. 2 badly injured terrorists were captured and have been taken for questioning by the Ministry of National Security.

Rebel media loyal to the FPRL has pre-preemptively denied any responsibility for the downing of the Foreign Relations Minister's plane. They have stated that they and their rebel allies "will always fight for freedom, but condemn the killing of and attacks on diplomats, clergy, unarmed civilians, prisoners, the elderly, women and children".

Emergency Rescue Speedboats from the Nchiyamengian Coast Guard are now at the site where the Foreign Minister's plane went down. So far there are still no signs of life. They have started fishing debris out of the water, but the main part of the body of the plane, or the parts of it anyway, appear to have sunk deep below the water after the explosion.

Another boat with rescue divers is about to arrive and help search for any survivors.

13:58 - Monday the 19th of December 2016:

Portavoz Nacional Juan Kampiya has addresses a group of reporters from loyalist news networks from the Briefing Room of the Presidential Palace. Portavoz Nacional Kampiya has stated that just over an hour ago the plane transporting the Foreign Minister to a negotiation on the lifting of trade sanctions by the Kingdom of Albatan went down over the Kenyan Channel. He stated that it was suspected as this was due to highly professional sabotage as the plane had been inspected beforehand and had been in perfect working condition. Portavoz Nacional Kampiya also confiremd that the wife, son, three daughters, elderly mother and elderly parents of the wife of the Foreign Minister had also been on board the plane, to accompany him and give him moral support during the peace conference. Emergency services had still yet to confirm the deaths of any of the passengers on board, including the personal secretary and staff of the Foreign Minister, or that of the pilot, co-pilot and crew, but at the moment the situation did not look promising.

Portavoz Nacional Kampiya said that so far the GI were a top suspect in being behind the attack, but stated that it was very possible that the FPRL, MSI or another "treacherous terrorist group" was behind the attack. Portavoz Nacional Kampiya pointed out that the FPRL had been behind the assassination attempt on the life of his father, Presidente Marcos Kampiya, which had killed the then Minister of Defence Alejandro Nusende, had killed his older brother the Presidential Guard Commandante Pedro Kampiya, and had injured his father, Presidente Marcos Kampiya, Presidente Diputado Eduardo Mastamayadi and himself.

Portavoz Nacional Kampiya stated he would keep the reporters updated on the situation as it developed.
